Work Text:

1.

It’s on a busy Wednesday afternoon that Namjoon gets a call from Seokjin, needing to talk about something important. So rushing from work, he finds himself standing in front of the door of the older’s loft.

“Joonie! Perfect timing. Come in!” Seokjin ushers him into the loft where the older and his boyfriend, Hoseok, lived.

“You said you wanted to talk to me about something important?” So important that I had to come here in the middle of work.

Seokjin answers as he sits Namjoon on the couch and plops down next to him. “Yeah. Hobi was supposed to be here but he got called into work last minute.” Okay, so not important enough for Hoseok to be here.

“It’s fine. So what is it that you had to tell me?” Namjoon questions further, not wanting to waste anymore time off work.

Seokjin turns away at this, looking slightly abashed. “It’s actually something I should’ve told you a long time ago…but I was scared? I don’t know. It’s just that, this can be pretty hard to take in. I’m not sure you might even believe-”

“Hyung, I don’t mean to rush you but I have to get back to work soon.” In any other circumstance, Namjoon would never be rude enough as to cut off his hyung (especially not one of his crushes) but he really needs to get back.

“Right! I’m so sorry. Just let me,” the older boy takes a deep breath and sighs before leveling Namjoon with a serious look on his face. Then with the most seriousness Namjoon has ever heard from his hyung, he says, “Namjoon…don’t freak out but… I’m a witch.”

Silence.

Is he serious?

Did he get actually me out of work for a-a prank?

Namjoon bursts out in laughter. “You really are a great actor, hyung. I almost believed you for a second there. With how serious you were acting.” He taps his hyung’s knee in good nature before getting up.

“What? No-” Seokjin starts to get up to catch him.

“Hyung, great talk, I guess,” he whispers the last part, “but I really should get back now.”

“Wait, Joon, I can show you!” Seokjin starts to panic, grabbing the younger’s wrist. Only to have Namjoon yank his arm back.

“You can show me some other time, I really need to get back.” Before Seokjin can say anything else, he’s already out the door.

Halfway down the corridor, Namjoon starts to feel bad.

I wasn’t being too rude, right? Oh man, I was. I should go back and apologize.

He starts walking back (re : running back) to apologize to Seokjin immediately. Once he reaches the door, he barges in.

To see Seokjin throwing glitter around.

“Hyung, is this what you were gonna show me? You throwing around handfuls of glitter into the air? Really?” This is a whole new level of extra.

Seokjin is still in shock by the younger’s sudden return so his brain isn’t working as fast as he would like it to and by the time a sufficient amount of his brain cells have finally gathered to form a coherent response, the younger is already ready to leave again.

“Look I just came back to apologize for being rude earlier. So…I’m sorry. Bye hyung, love you!” And he’s bolted out the door by the end of his sentence.

“I love you too,” Seokjin whispers sadly into the wind, knowing there was no chance the younger could hear him.

Attempt 1 : Failed.

2.

It’s over a week later on a quiet Saturday evening, Namjoon finds himself walking into a coffee shop (punnily named ‘Bean There, Done That’) looking for Hoseok.

“Joon-ah! Over here!” He turns to see the human embodiment of sunshine (the sunshine of his life) waving him over excitedly from a secluded corner of the coffee shop. Big heart smile spread across his face making Namjoon smile back and his heart skip a beat or two.

Namjoon walks over quickly, the skip in his step matching the skip in his heartbeat. He sits down across Hoseok, lifting up his legs on the small couch and crossing them immediately. Gay culture.

“So this is the coffee shop you and Jin-hyung always go to. It’s pretty.” Like you two.

“Yeah, it really is. I’m friends with the owner’s daughter and one of the baristas. So they have our orders memorized by heart,” Hoseok looks around for a bit before leaning in to whisper, “and they give us small discounts and freebies sometimes, but tell no one.”

Namjoon pretends to zip his mouth shut as to say that the secret is safe with him.

Hoseok giggles at that and Namjoon feels blessed to be alive. “Here, I ordered you a cappuccino, my barista friend makes the best.” Hoseok pushes a cup of warm coffee towards him and Namjoon nods gratefully.

“So what’s with the sudden invitation? And where’s Jin-hyung?” Namjoon decides to ask whilst taking a sip of the warm drink. His curiosity was peaked, it was very rare to see one without the other, especially at their coffee shop.

“Oh! I almost forgot why I invited you here.” Hoseok clears his throat. “So this is about Jin-hyung actually. He told me about what happened when you two talked and he’s embarrassed to see you so that’s why he’s not here.” Hoseok explains, chuckling. Namjoon couldn’t help but let out a small laugh too.

“So…he asked me to talk to you this time. Try to explain what he wanted to tell you.”

“Hyung, is this about the witch thing? You can’t actually be serious.” Namjoon is in disbelief. Why are they putting so much effort into this stupid joke?

“But I am! I am super serious about the witch thing. But I also know that you’re not one to believe things easily, especially if you haven’t seen proper proof,” Hoseok takes a sip of his own drink before continuing, “Which is why I’ve decided to just show you what I mean. That’s why I invited you to come with me today.”

“W-what? Show me?” This is getting ridiculous.

“Yes, show you. Now hurry and finish your coffee, the faster we get going, the faster you’ll see.” Hoseok says as he finishes the last of his own drink.

Once Namjoon finishes his drink, Hoseok brings him over to the counter. He calls over a girl who looks to be in college. Black hair, dark eyes, shorter than them but still pretty tall and looks kinda cute in the threatening ‘I could rip your face off’ kind of way. Her name tag reads ‘Hyejoo’ and she has a bored look on her face but her eyes are tinted with amusement as she walks over to Hoseok.

“Is this the boy you’ve been-” She starts but is immediately cut off by Hoseok’s insistent hushing.

“I just need you to give me the stuff I need.” The girl smirks and takes something out of her apron pocket. She hands them over Hoseok, “You owe me now.”

“Yeah yeah, just call me when you need someone to reach a high shelf.” Hoseok says as he starts to walk away, not even looking at the girl.

“Fuck you Jung Hoseok!” She yells by the time he’s out the door, Namjoon right behind him.

“That was my barista friend, Son Hyejoo. She’s in college, studying Engineering. My other friend, the coffee shop’s owner’s daughter? She’s her girlfriend. You’ll get to meet her soon, I’m sure.”

Namjoon only nods.

They’ve only walked for a few minutes now and Hoseok is already leading him down a shady-looking alley. Namjoon’s concern grows.

“H-hyung? What are we doing here? You’re not gonna kill me, right?” Namjoon lets out a nervous chuckle as he follows Hoseok further into the alley.

“Of course not, you mean too much to me.” Hoseok didn’t even look at him when the words leave his mouth, eyes focusing on the road which is good because he can’t see Namjoon’s blush then.

“Here we are!” Hoseok finally announces after a few more minutes of silence, standing next to a rusty metal door with the sign ‘Between The Shelves’ above it. Namjoon’s concern continues to grow as Hoseok pushes open the door.

What was inside was a...mini library?

The place was, for lack of a better word, quaint. It was small and simple with shelves lined with books. There were tables and bean bags and smalls reading nooks. Every bookworm’s dream. But Namjoon highly doubts they were here to read.

“Wait here, I need to talk to Chuu.” Namjoon nods and Hoseok walks off for a bit, going towards the counter. Namjoon can’t hear what he’s saying but he sees the older slide something across the counter. The cards that Hyejoo gave him earlier. After that he walks back.

“Follow me.” He says, nodding at the girl, Chuu who's sitting behind the counter. The librarian?

So Namjoon does. He follows Hoseok to a more deserted area of the place. Reaching the end of the library, facing a tall shelf filled with books Namjoon has never seen before, Hoseok reaches to grab one of them.

So we are here to read?

And the shelf splits in half. What the fuck. Between the shelves, a door is revealed.

He’s actually gonna murder my gay ass. He’s really gonna do it.

Namjoon is hesitant, cautious. So Hoseok has no choice but to drag him by the wrist, through the door and down the stairs.

They reach a floor, much bigger than the library. It looks almost like a nightclub and gang safe house combined. There’s a stage and people are bustling around. Namjoon is both terrified and amazed.

“Joon-ah,” Namjoon looks over at his hyung, “welcome to The Underground. One of the largest communities for supernatural performance anywhere.”

Namjoon is speechless.

“Come on, show’s about to start.”

Hoseok drags him off to the front of the stage and the dim lighting gets dimmer. Music fades in and a spotlight sets center stage. A girl comes in, the name ‘Yves’ shining behind her.

Then she starts to dance.

Her movements are fluid, smooth and graceful. Like a swan. Her hands light up and sparkle, looking almost like magic. Namjoon is in absolute awe. Too soon her performance ends and Hoseok pulls him aside.

“Well?” The older starts as he starts to bring Namjoon back upstairs.

“That was amazing! The special effects were so cool! I almost believed that she was actually doing magic.” Namjoon says excitedly.

“Wait? Special effects?”

Namjoon ignores him and  lets out a gasp, “Do you perform too sometimes?”

“Well yeah but that’s besides the point, Joon-ah.”

Namjoon ignores him again. “You have to let me watch you! How come you never me told about this? Does Jin-hyung know?”

“Yes, he does know. Joon-ah, please listen to me.” Hoseok tries to calm him but by the time Namjoon has started to quiet down, the younger’s phone rings.

“Hello? Oh? Okay, I’ll be there soon.” Namjoon hangs up and offers Hoseok an apologetic look. “Sorry hyung, that was Yoongi-hyung. I have to go finish up some last minute work but I’ll make it up to you next time!”

Hoseok can only stare after the younger as he runs off.

Attempt 2 : Failed.

3.

The next time it happens, it’s after work and he’s out with Yoongi and Jimin. They’re eating together in a small tea shop/bistro named ‘Spill The Tea’.

They have light conversation about work. They talk about songs they’re working on and a choreography Jimin and Hoseok have been working on.

“Speaking of Hoseok, I heard he took you to The Underground last weekend?” Yoongi asks.

“Uhm, yeah.” Namjoon isn’t sure why Yoongi is suddenly bringing this up.

“What do you think of it?” Yoongi presses on further.

“It’s really cool. The performer we watched was someone named Yves?”

“Ah, Sooyoung. I know her. She and Jeongguk were in the same dance class.” Jimin cuts in.

“And the special effects were awesome. It looked like real magic.”

“Because it was. Real magic, I mean.” Jimin says.

Namjoon looks at him incredulously.

“Yeah, sure it was.” He retorts. So, Jimin is in on it too, I see.

“No, Namjoon, Jimin’s right. Yves can do magic, she’s a witch. You know Chuu? She’s Yves’ familiar.” Yoongi is involved too?

“A familiar? The hell is that?” He’s in complete disbelief now.

Jimin sighs. Like he’s tired of Namjoon’s nonsense. This slander.

“A familiar is kinda like your spirit animal. And your soulmate. Every witch has their own familiar. And familiars can only use their magic once they’ve met their witch.” Jimin explains.

Yoongi continues, “A witch can reach their full potential after they’ve met their familiar. So it’s beneficial for both sides. Some familiars can have better control over their transition process. So it’s easier for them to turn into their animal forms. In my case, I’m a Bengal cat and I’m Jin-hyung’s familiar.” He ends his explanation with an expectant look.

“And I’m a Ragdoll cat, Hobi-hyung’s familiar.” Jimin finishes off with a hopeful smile.

And Namjoon? Namjoon is processing everything they’ve said and to be honest, he’s only got one conclusion.

“You guys are furries.”

“What?! No!” Yoongi is offended beyond belief.

“It’s kinda weird but you do you, I guess.”

“Joon-hyung, you don’t understand. We’re not-” Jimin is unsuprisingly cut off by Namjoon.

“There’s no need to hide it from me anymore. I can try to be more supportive.”

“We’re not fucking furries, Namjoon.”

Namjoon ignores him in favor of getting up. “I should go now, thanks for coming out to me guys. It’s good to know you guys trust me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go water Rapmon and walk my cactus.”

The couple watch him leave and Yoongi sighs heavily.

“He thinks we’re goddamn furries.”

Attempt 3 : Failed.

4.

He’s visiting Jeongguk and Taehyung’s shared apartment this time. Jeongguk had called him on his day off to hang out so here he is sitting in the youngers’ living room on one of their beanbags with Yeontan in his lap, drinking a cup of green tea and listening to Taehyung’s rambling about some clients he and Jeongguk had recently received while the youngest prepares some snacks. An engaged couple hiring them for pre-wedding photoshoots.

“It’s ridiculous! I’m just their photographer yet they’re treating me like I’m their butler or something. And don’t even get me started on the bride’s sister!” Taehyung rants in exasperation.

“What did she do?”

“She hit on Jeongguk! Right in front of me! I mean it’s not like I’m jealous or anything but you know how Koo is. He has a hard time telling people to go away,  especially girls! He’s gay! Not to mention, a huge bottom.” Namjoon is sure he wasn’t supposed to hear that last part. “I’m just worried that he might be uncomfortable, you know?”

“Tae, that’s enough now. I’m sure I can take of it myself. And even if I can’t, I have you.” Jeongguk says with a smile, finally returning from the kitchenette and bringing in a plate of chapssaltteok, and setting it on the coffee table.

Taehyung almost immediately smiles back. “I know Koo, but I still worry about you. Is that so wrong?” He asks and wraps his arm around the youngest once he plops down onto his lap.

Why have so many chairs if you just sit on him?

“Of course not.” They’re smiling at each other in such a fond manner, Namjoon almost feels like he should leave. But he doesn’t so instead he just coughs awkwardly.

The two are startled and embarassed. They are now refusing to make eye contact with anything but the floor.

“So...uhm, why am I here?” Namjoon scratches the back of his neck and petting Yeontan to relax himself.

“Right! Uhm...” Jeongguk inhales deeply before continuing, “We have something to tell you. It’s about...well, us and it’s really important that you know this.”

Taehyung continues for him, “We’ve been keeping this from you for too long and we feel like now is the best time to tell you.”

The younger boys look into each other’s eyes for a bit before they both nod and turn their gazes back to Namjoon. “Hyung...we’re-”

“Dating.” Namjoon finishes for them.

“W-what?” The two start blushing and stuttering and tripping over their own words.

“I mean it’s pretty obvious. If you guys are asking for my approval then obviously I’d give you it. To be honest, I’m just disappointed that you guys didn’t tell me sooner.” Namjoon shrugs lightly at his own statement, looking down at Yeontan and stroking his fur.

The youngers’ cheeks are still dusted over with red when the oldest continues to talk, “Honestly, I’m not surprised. It was bound to happen, everyone was expecting it. It’s just so obvious that you two are in love with each other, y’know? I’m really happy for you two. You two deserve each other.”

Even when Namjoon’s finished talking, the other two are still searching for a response. “I’m hoping things will work out for me too. It’s already so...difficult having a crush, imagine having two crushes! But I just can’t help how I feel about Jin-hyung and Hobi-ah. They’re just both so amazing, how could I not fall in love with them?!”

Namjoon sighs and checks his watch, “I should probably get back now. Need to feed Rapmon,” he starts to get up, putting Yeontan back on the floor. “Thanks for the talk, guys. I’ll see you some other time!” And he’s out the door.

Attempt 4 : Failed.

(But there’s another win.)

(The apartment is silent after Namjoon’s departure.

Taehyung is the one to break it, “Well that didn’t go as planned.” He says as he slides Jeongguk off his lap.

The younger stays quiet, looking down.

“Koo? Are you okay?” Still no response. “...Was it something Namjoonie-hyung said?”

Then with a voice barely over a whisper, “Is it true? What Namjoon-hyung said? T-that you’re in love with me?” He looks at Taehyung then, stares him in the eye.

Taehyung is taken aback. “U-uh..” He can’t find the words to say, can’t think of a lie or an excuse, not when Jeongguk is looking at him with so much hope in his doe eyes. The older looks down, afraid to look at the boy he loves more than anything and he sighs in the end. It was time to come clean.

“Y-yeah. It’s true. I’m sorry, I know it’s rather frowned upon for witches to date familiars, especially their own. But can you blame me? You’re so...beautiful and smart and kind and talented. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and more. It’s impossible for me not to be in love with you.” Taehyung is still too scared to look at the other. He’s close to tears, ready for rejection.

“Tae.” Jeongguk speaks softly, cupping his hyung’s face so he can look him in the eye. Once his hyung looks up, Jeongguk giggles. “Why do you look so sad? Do you think I’m gonna reject you?”

Taehyung nods and looks down again.

“Oh Taetae...why on Earth would I do that? That would be so stupid of me. To reject the love of my life.”

The older finally looks at Jeongguk properly, not sure if he heard right. But at the same time, his heart knows that the younger couldn’t have said anything else.

“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” Jeongguk slides back into the older’s lap, cupping his cheeks and resting his forehead against the other’s. Their lips barely touching, separated by a hair’s breadth.

“I love you.”

Hands, big and soft, come to wrap around his small waist. Gripping his hips so tight, bruising them in all the right ways.

“I love you too.”

And suddenly, there wasn’t any space left between them.)

5.

Namjoon is in a good mood. He had just gotten off work early after Yoongi and himself had sealed a great deal, tomorrow is his day off (which is a start of a long weekend) and he’s hanging out with both of his crushes during the weekend (both of them!). He can go home and relax, maybe catch up on that series he’s been wanting to binge and maybe even get an outfit ready for the hang out.

Things could not get any better.

“Uhm, excuse me, are you Kim Namjoon by any chance?”

He looks over to his right and sees a girl he’s never met before. She’s short (then again most people are shorter than him), has dark brown hair and is adorable in a way that reminds you of a child.

“Uh…yes?” Not exactly sure that’s how I was supposed to respond.

“Great, I need you to come with me.” Who does this girl think she is?

“I don’t know you? So no.”

“I’m Choi Yerim.” She introduces herself.

“Okay, hello Yerim-ssi. I need to go.” He starts walking away but she has the audacity to grab his wrist.

“I’m sorry but you need to come with me.” Her grip grows tighter.

“No, I don’t. Please let go of me.” He’s trying his hardest to yank his wrist free but the girl is surprisingly strong.

“I’m sorry but if you keep resisting, you leave us no choice.”

“Wait? Us? Who else-” He’s cut off by a sudden knock to the head.

And now he’s blacking out.

He wakes up, dazed and confused. It’s dark and he can’t move, he’s tied up.

If things can't get any better, they have to get worse.

And there are footsteps, and they’re getting louder. Closer.

He looks up and sees…Hyejoo?

“Hyejoo?! What the fuck?” He’s confused, tired and frankly, a little pissed.

“Look, Namjoon-ssi. I know this may seem unnecessary, but this is the only way to get you to listen to us.” She says like it could explain why the fuck she kidnapped him. Wait, where’s the other girl?

“Kidnapping me?! That’s the only way you could think of?!” I can’t believe Hoseok is friends with this girl.

“I’m sorry, Namjoon-ssi. But we couldn’t think of anything else.” Another voice pipes up. Yerim.

“Listen, Namjoon. We need to talk. All of your friends have been trying to tell you this but all of their attempts have failed. So my girlfriend and I decided to take matters into our own hands. To help your friends. We promise to let you go afterwards.” Hyejoo sounds apologetic and sincere when she explains but what the heck is she talking about?

“Fine! I’ll listen, just untie these damn ropes.” So, maybe Namjoon is willing to comply but only because she promised to let him go after.

“Okay, Yerim, untie him.” At that, Yerim walks over to untie the ropes bounding Namjoon to the chair then he rubs his wrists after they’ve been released.

He looks at Hyejoo straight in the eye. “Now...talk.”

“I’m gonna keep it short and simple. Namjoon, magic is real. The whole thing with Seokjin and Hoseok...it’s true. They’re both witches. Yoongi and Jimin are their familiars. Jeongguk is also a witch, Taehyung is his familiar. Hell, I’m a witch. We’ve been trying to tell you that magic is fuckin’ real.

What.

The.

Fuck.

“Fucking hell. You fuckin’ kidnapped for some stupid prank?! You know what? I GIVE UP! FUCK YOU GUYS, I’M GOING HOME.” He gets up, mad as hell. He’s ready to leave but he says one more thing before he walks out.

“I’LL FUCKIN’ BELIEVE IN MAGIC WHEN SEOKJIN AND HOSEOK BECOME MY BOYFRIENDS!”

And that gives the two girls an idea.

Attempt 5 : Failed. (But not really.)

+1.

The weekend finally rolls in and Namjoon is determined to enjoy his time with Seokjin and Hoseok, and completely forget about all the terrible events earlier in the week. Seokjin and Hoseok said they would pick him up from his own apartment so he was currently waiting for them impatiently in the lobby. They said they would pick him up at 8 but he had been waiting since 7.15, then again he did wake up at 6 just to make sure he would be ready on time (and look good).

They had told him to dress casual but Namjoon is trying to impress them so maybe he does wear something a little nicer than usual. Nothing much, it’s still overall comfortable and it can still be considered casual. (His outfit consists of the expensive sweater that Seokjin bought for him and the really nice designer jeans that Hoseok gave him as a gift.)

They were going to be hanging out for the whole day, just the three of them. Yoongi and Jimin are out of town, celebrating their second anniversary during the long weekend whilst Taehyung and Jeongguk are busy with their own dates.

The couple end up picking him up at 7.45, claiming that the trip was a bit far and that a headstart wouldn’t hurt.

Namjoon had no idea where they were going to but honestly speaking, he didn’t care. As long as he got to spend time with the both of them, anywhere was fine. He had been worried at first, that they would make him feel like a third-wheel.

But not once have they made him feel left out, it felt much more like a date between the three of them than a simple hang out. They kept joking and laughing and talking together, Namjoon didn’t even notice where they were till Seokjin had parked.

Namjoon looks around while he waits for Seokjin to turn off the car and for both of them to unbuckle their seatbelts. He lets out a small gasp when he sees where they are. They’re at the new aquarium that had just opened just outside of Seoul. The aquarium that he’s been wanting to visit for about a month now.

He steps out of the car, almost tripping in his excited haste. Seokjin and Hoseok following a few seconds after with big smiles on their faces. The three of them begin walking towards the entrance.

“How’d you guys know that I’ve been wanting to go here?” Namjoon is a little confused. He doesn’t remember mentioning this to anyone besides Yoongi.

“Yoongi may not be a blabbermouth but he tells Jimin everything. And Jimin is a blabbermouth.” Hoseok explains.

“And don’t even think about paying for the tickets!” Seokjin yells when he sees Namjoon take out his wallet. “I already bought us tickets online.” At that, Namjoon slides his wallet back into his back pocket.

Namjoon has a bit of a skip in his step as he walks over to the entrance and lets the employee scan his ticket. The other two are following him, fond smiles on their faces as they watch the youngest boy.

When Namjoon walks through the front doors, he feels like a kid in a candy store. “Wow…”

It’s breathtaking really, the sight of him, Hoseok can’t help but think as he looks at Namjoon. His eyes sparkling, thick lips parted in awe and the faintest trace of a smile shows on the corner of his lips. Hoseok is in love with two of the most beautiful men he’s ever had the pleasure of meeting and his heart is ready to give out with the amount of love he feels as of the moment.

And Seokjin can’t help but smile fondly at the youngest, his heart beating too fast with the presence of both of his loves with him. Namjoon has such a pure personality and yet such a mature outlook of life. He can't help that his breath hitches when Namjoon turns back to them, flashing them a dimpled smile and Seokjin is ready to give him everything he owns.

“Come on, let’s go!” Namjoon ushers both of them further into the building.

They had been roaming around, taking pictures, exploring and looking at sea creatures for almost two hours before Namjoon gets distracted by the child-friendly interactive section of the building. There was a large, shallow pool of water filled with small, harmless stingrays and Namjoon was gone for. He kept petting them gently and cooing at them, his nose scrunching at how cute the stingrays were whilst the other two watched from next to him.

Hoseok and Seokjin take about a hundred pictures of him before Namjoon starts walking over to the large sandbox, where you could go to if you wanted to catch small crabs (aka Namjoon’s weakness). Hoseok and Seokjin follow him but only watch him from just outside the sandbox. Namjoon loves catching small crabs. During summer, he would visit some beaches nearby to catch small crabs so he’s determined to try and catch some now.

But try as he might, he just couldn’t seem to catch any of the little crustaceans. Pouting, Namjoon stands up and walks back to Seokjin and Hoseok. “I can’t catch any of the crabs.”

They both coo at how adorable Namjoon is before Hoseok comforts him, telling him that he shouldn’t give up and that the crabs will come to for sure. His words are a great distraction as Seokjin casts a small spell to cheer up their Namjoon. Once he finishes the spell, he nudges Hoseok. Hoseok understands and tells Namjoon, “Why don’t you try again?”

Namjoon nods resolutely and walks back to the sand. When he crouches down, about 10 crabs immediately start moving towards him and he’s never felt happier. He picks up one of the small crabs in his hands, a big grin on his face. Seokjin snaps a few pictures of the sight.

Once they’ve finished exploring, they stop by the gift shop as per Seokjin’s request. (“We have to! It’s practically a law at this point!”)

So, they buy cute matching keychains. A stingray for Namjoon, a seahorse for Hoseok and a dolphin for Seokjin. Okay, so not exactly matching, but they’re cute and they bought them together.

After the aquarium, they drive to a small, American-style family diner for lunch. Ordering milkshakes and burgers, laughing and joking, just enjoying their time together. They take pictures and selfies together and when Namjoon sees Hoseok’s post on Instagram, a picture of the three of them smiling cutely at the camera with the caption ‘date!!’ followed by a dozen hearts and not a ‘ft. Namjoon third-wheeling’, his heart flutters just a little.

They finish eating and Hoseok insists on paying for the food, so they agree to let him pay in exchange of letting him choose where they go next. They walk for a bit, to help digest the food and Hoseok spots an arcade across the road and quickly decides for them to go there.

They walk in and the place is empty, freakin’ desolate. And that’s when Hoseok knows. It’s not a regular arcade, it’s specific for those who dabble in magic. There’s many places like this, either they’re very well hidden (like ‘Between The Shelves’) or they’re disguised as abandoned places with glamours that only magic-users can see through (like this arcade). But how can Namjoon see it?

He brushes it off, why worry about something like that when Seokjin and Namjoon are both smiling at him with so much love. He smiles back, little dimples popping up. “What are we waiting for?”

The three of them are pretty competitive, so obviously they turn almost every game into a competition. Racing games, shooting games, basketball, etc. But it’s especially frustrating for Hoseok when it’s DDR they’re playing. Because if there’s anything Hoseok is good at, it’s dancing. But if there’s anything Hoseok is bad at, it’s DDR. Ironically.

But it’s worth losing every round if it means he gets to make Namjoon and Seokjin laugh.

They keep playing for about two more hours before they decide to leave. They’re almost ready to go when Seokjin sees it, the claw machine. In it, there’s a small, white alpaca plushie wearing a red scarf around its neck. And he knows he has to have it. He has a few tokens left and quickly asks the other two if they can give him theirs. After they give him the rest of their tokens, he’s got a total of 12 tokens in his hand. With the tokens in hand, he walks over to the machine. He’s determined as he puts the first token in.

It takes him exactly 4 tries before he finally, finally gets the alpaca plushie. He names it RJ and he’s ridiculously happy about it.

But something feels wrong.

When he sees a cute blue koala plushie and an adorable horse plushie, he realizes that they’re perfect.

Perfect for Namjoon and Hoseok.

So he plays again. Plays till he’s down to 2 tokens and both of the plushies are now his to claim. He grins happily as he walks back to the other two, presenting them with the plushies. They give him dimpled smiles as he hands them the plushies (the koala for Namjoon and the horse for Hoseok).

“I’m gonna name my koala…Koya.” Namjoon quickly declares.

“I’m thinking…Mang? Yeah, Mang it is.” Hoseok seems proud of the name as he nods at the plushie before something else catches his eye. A photo booth.

“Guys! We have to go to the photo booth. It’s mandatory!” He’s quick to get up and rush over to the photo booth, the other two following suit.

They use the last two tokens to take as many pictures possible. There’s one where they show off the plushies, one where they look like dorks, one where they’re just smiling and Namjoon’s personal favorite is the one where Hoseok and Seokjin are making a heart with their hands and Namjoon slips in a finger heart right in the middle of it. They look like they’re dating.

They leave the arcade eventually at around half past four. They walk back to the car and Namjoon can’t help but feel a little sad that their day is coming to an end. He feels even sadder when the harsh reality hits him, he’s not actually dating them.

Once they’re back in the car, Seokjin announces that they still need to have dinner and that the two of them already have a place in mind. Namjoon simply hums in acknowledgement and stares out that window, his picture of them three clutched in his hand.

The trip to the restaurant takes as long as it did to get to the aquarium and Namjoon is quick to realize that the place they’re eating is close to home, which means less time to spend with them. They pull to a stop, right in front of the coffee shop. Hoseok and Seokjin’s coffee shop. Bean There, Done That.

When they enter, the place is surprisingly empty. Hell, not even the staff are in sight. And for some reason, there’s only one table set up. Right in the middle of the place. Even the atmosphere feels different. It’s dark, there’s soft lighting, soft violin music is playing, there’s a faint smell of flowers and vanilla lingering in the air. The table is set for three people and there’s even goddamn candle lights. It feels...romantic. Nothing like the usual crowded coffee shop with pop music playing and the strong smell of cappuccino.

“Let’s sit.” Seokjin ushers the two of them to the table and sits them down.

As soon as they sit down, Hyejoo comes out wearing a suit and bringing some champagne. She set the glasses down for each person and pours them all a glass of the golden-coloured liquid. “The food will be out shortly.” She says before leaving.

And she’s right. Because only a few minutes later, three plates of food come out. But no one’s carrying them.

They’re just floating. To their table. On their own. What the fuck.

Is there something in this champagne?

Hyejoo returns to their table to present the food. “Lemon chicken romano for Seokjin. Orange glazed salmon for Hoseok. And a pan-seared filet mignon with red wine sauce for Namjoon. Enjoy your meal.” Hyejoo gives them a smile and a bow before heading back to the kitchen.

“What the heck was that?” Namjoon finally asks the two.

“What the heck was what?” Hoseok retorts.

“The food! It was floating! Please tell me I wasn’t the only one who saw that.”

“You weren’t. And what is this music? I’m changing it.” Seokjin says before snapping his fingers. The music changes from soft violin to an instrumental of Answer Me 1997’s OST, ‘All For You’. “That’s better.” Hoseok nods in agreement whereas Namjoon is staring dumbfoundedly.

“Joonie, what are you doing? Eat or your food will get cold.” Hoseok nudges the younger, taking him out of his trance. Namjoon nods and starts eating. The food is delicious but it’s hard to focus on it when your mind is in other places.

They finish their meals and Hoseok waves his hand over the empty plates while Namjoon just watches as the plates all disappear. He looks to Seokjin, to see if the older looks as confused as he feels. But Seokjin isn’t even paying attention. “Do you guys want some dessert?” He asks instead.

“Yeah. I’m down.” Hoseok agrees, “I’m sure Joon-ah will want some too.”

“Okay then.” Dessert comes out the same way the first plates did. Fast and floating.

They finish their desserts quickly before Seokjin clears his throat. He turns to Namjoon, who’s looking at the ground, and opens his mouth to talk. But before he even gets a chance, he’s cut off by Namjoon.

“Oh my fuck, magic is real.”

Well, that was easy.

“Oh my fuck. It’s real. Magic is real. What the fuck? You guys are witches. Which means Yoongi-hyung and Jimin were telling the truth, they’re familiars. They’re not furries, hallelujah. Which means Jeongguk is also a witch and Tae is his familiar. That’s what they wanted to tell me. And that Yves girl, she’s a witch. Is Hyejoo a witch too? Oh my fuck, magic is real.

“That’s what we’ve been trying to tell you.” Hoseok decides to cut in.

“So that’s why you guys asked me to hang out today? To tell me magic is real?” Namjoon questions when he turns back to look at them.

Seokjin and Hoseok share a look and Hoseok nods. Seokjin starts, “Well...yes. And no. We did invite you to tell you about this. But there’s another reason we invited you out today.”

Hoseok continues, “Yesterday, Hyejoo and Yerim told us about what happened. The whole kidnapping thing, sorry about that by the way. They said that you’d only believe in magic when Seokjin and I became your boyfriends. So, we invited you out today to confess.”

“We’ve been in love with you for quite a long time now. Probably since the day Yoongi first introduced you to us. We’ve always wanted to ask you out but we wanted to be sure we could trust with our secret first.” Seokjin says with a sigh.

“And we weren’t sure you would feel the same way. You just kinda seemed...out of our league? Well, my league. How couldn’t you be in love with Jin-hyung. He’s smart and kind and handsome, just like you. You two would make a great couple, so I was worried that if we got together, you two would leave me.” Hoseok explains sadly.

Namjoon and Seokjin are quick to wash away all his doubts though. “No! I would never leave you. You’re my sunshine, okay? My little prince. I love you too much.” Seokjin says. “Of course not! You’re amazing! And funny and sweet and adorable and beautiful and I love you more than words can describe.” Namjoon says.

Hoseok smiles at the two of them, dimples showing. “Thank you.”

Seokjin decides to cut to the chase, “So, Joonie-ah...what do you say? Will you be our boyfriend?”

And what is Namjoon supposed to do? Say no? When both of them are looking at him so fondly, so hopefully, so full of love. Smiles big and full of hope, practically wearing their hearts on their sleeves.

Namjoon nods happily.

Now, everyone’s happy.

The three of them get up and walk out together. Hoseok clinging on to Namjoon’s left arm while Seokjin’s hand is clasped in Namjoon’s right hand. The three of them have big smiles on their faces, eyes full of adoration and hearts filled with love.

And when they’re cuddled together in the bedroom of Hoseok and Seokjin’s loft (which will soon be Hoseok, Seokjin and Namjoon’s because they’ve wasted too much time, so Namjoon is definitely moving out of his small studio apartment and moving in with them), Hoseok’s cuddled into his chest, arms wrapped around him to reach Seokjin, who’s spooning Namjoon with his face buried into the crook of the youngest’s neck and his hand scratching Hoseok’s upper arm, Namjoon can’t help but smile as he thinks.

Magic is fuckin’ real.

-EPILOGUE-
(THREE MONTHS LATER)

“I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! THIS IS IT! PURE COMEDY GOLD!” Yoongi’s not exactly the most subtle when it comes to making fun of his friends, especially Namjoon. Jimin’s doubled over in laughter, Taehyung is wheezing and Jeongguk is two seconds away from bursting in laughter. Whereas Seokjin is trying to hide his embarrassment, Hoseok is laughing nervously and Namjoon is ready to die.

Why do things like this always happen to him?

The seven of them are hanging out in Seokjin, Hoseok and Namjoon’s loft (Namjoon moved in about a week after the three of them started dating).

They’re gathered in the living room, Namjoon and his boyfriends are cuddling on the love seat, Yoongi is sitting in the armchair with Jimin in his lap and the youngest two are seated together on the floor.

“I CAN’T FUCKIN’ BELIEVE THAT YOU TWO SOMEHOW TURNED NAMJOON INTO A WITCH BY-BY,” Yoongi is wheezing, he can barely breathe, Namjoon is contemplating between killing Yoongi or himself, “YOU GUYS HAD SO MANY THREESOMES, NAMJOON CAN DO MAGIC NOW. OH MY GOD!”

“I’ve heard of fucking someone so good, they become your bitch. But fucking someone so good, they become a witch? That’s something else.” Taehyung has the audacity to comment. Namjoon is now thinking about killing him too.

“I’m not a witch!” Namjoon shouts in defense, though it doesn’t help at all.

“Joonie isn’t a witch. He just…knows how to do basic spells and see through glamours. Which is good! So he doesn’t feel left out for being the only non-magic user in our group.” Seokjin says in hopes of stopping all the teasing but Hoseok and Namjoon know better.

“You’re never gonna live this down, are you?” Hoseok begrudgingly asks Yoongi.

Yoongi gives them a sly smile in response. “Nope. Consider it payback for accusing me and my Jiminie of being fuckin’ furries.” Yoongi points at Namjoon accusingly, eyes narrowed.

“I apologized, didn’t I?!” Namjoon shouts incredulously.

“But you didn’t stop Hoseok and Seokjin from teasing us! You joined them!” Jimin decides to defend his boyfriend.

Taehyung starts wheezing again and Jeongguk is laughing so hard that no sound comes out. But when Jimin makes a comment regarding Jeongguk, Taehyung is quick to react.

“At least we’re not actual furries! Unlike Jeongguk!”

“Hey! That’s my boyfriend you’re calling a furry, you furry!”

For some reason, Jimin’s first response is to turn into his cat form and scratch Taehyung’s face. And Taehyung retaliates by turning into his animal form (which is a fuckin’ tiger) and growls at the Ragdoll cat.

Yoongi obviously has to defend his boyfriend by turning into a fuckin’ cat too and he starts hissing at Taehyung and Namjoon can’t believe his luck of choosing the weirdest friends possible as he watches a Bengal cat trying size up to a tiger ten times it size. He wishes he could have been smarter in choosing his peers.

But when the sun sets and all of them have talked for so long that they all fall asleep in the living room, he looks around and sees Yoongi and Jimin cuddling in the armchair as two fluffy cats, sees Taehyung curled up as a tiger securely around Jeongguk who’s resting his upper body on top of Taehyung’s head and he looks down to see Hoseok cuddled into his chest with Seokjin hugging him from behind, hands reaching over to intertwine with Namjoon’s, he realizes that he truly is lucky to have such amazing friends. To have such an incredible family.

So fuckin' lucky.
