Work Text:
Taehyung loved yoongi.
He loved yoongi just like he loved early Saturday mornings without classes, he loved him like free coupons of food in his daily mail. What he felt towards him was the contentment he felt after feeding stray cats, the joy of listening to a new song and loving it since the first line. Yoongi was to taehyung what fresh water was to students after gym class, like Aspirin after a hangover. Yoongi attracted taehyung because opposites attract, he pulled him further into the deep hole of loving him like a good fanfiction at 3A.M, like a webtoon with a mind-blowing plotline. Like brain freeze after ice cream, he filled taehyung's head with the pleasure of pain.
But yoongi didn't love taehyung back.
Taehyung was to yoongi what a fan was to their idol, like a popular pop song everyone liked, but wasn't his taste. Like a really good instrumental with mediocre vocals. He was like his friend's new obsession he didn't quite understand, but shrugged at it whatsoever.
Yoongi thought of taehyung like a father thought of their kid's crush: cute but childish.
Yoongi wanted to love taehyung back, like a dedicated fan wanted to love their favorite author's new release, but he just couldn't bring himself to it.
When he said this to taehyung, his heart clenched as he saw the younger cry for the first time. His tears sparkled under the full moon in the empty park, like a unicorn's silver spilled blood after being murdered by greedy humans.
Yoongi knew it didn't make sense, but at this moment, he felt like a murderer.
