Summary:

Modern Witch!Kiribaku

Kirishima Eijirou has been practicing witchcraft since high school. He's always had this unspoken priciple that he'd never use his magic on other people, since it just seems inhumane. Well, he thought that until he met Bakugo Katsuki.

Chapter Text

It was a mild autumn morning in early October. The leaves on the trees had only just began to wilt, turning to shades of orange and brown. The breeze was ever so slight, making it not too warm outside.

I had to physically force myself to crawl out of bed, since the thoughts of my classes were taunting me.

I'm Kirishima Eijirou. I'm 19 years old and I'm halfway through my freshman year of college. I live alone, in a small apartment only big enough for myself. I'm sure on the outside, I seem pretty generic. But, not to sound edgy, I'm not.

I practice witchcraft. No, witchcraft isn't what you see in the Halloween movies all the time. At its basic form, it's believing that humans aren't above nature. Witches work along with nature in their everyday lives, and most of us don't use our magick to cause harm.

I'm an eclectic witch, which means I don't have a niche magick I partake in. I just work with all magicks as I please. I'm not Wiccan, I don't believe in gods and goddesses like most witches. So, that makes me an Atheist witch. You don't really see that often anymore, for most witches are Wiccan witches.

I open my cupboard to see my collection of different teas. Teas have many different magickal properties to the body, depending on which one you drink. I ponder which I want to drink today.

My eyes glance over the green teabags and I raise my eyebrows.

Green tea: sharper focus, increased chances with love, and possibly a slight aphrodisiac

Hm

Why not? It's not like he has anything to lose.

I go through the magickal brewing of the tea, which is basically being as mindful as possible and imagining all of the tea's properties incorporating themselves into your lives.

Once the tea is done, I drink it quickly but thoughtfully as I hurriedly got dressed. Just a black t-shirt with jeans, nothing special. But, I take about 15 minutes trying to perfect my hairstyle of "a fucking explosion."

Soon enough, I rush out of the door of my apartment and walk down the sidewalk until I arrive at my university. I live in the complex owned by the university, so I don't have to pay as much for it.

I had just walked into the school's entrance when I heard someone call my name.

"Yo! Kirishimaaa!" I heard a familiar voice say as I saw my friend, Kaminari Denki, run up beside me. He was wearing his usual stylish outfit, today it was a tank top paired with a flannel, along with pants that looked painfully tight and a ribbon choker. I smiled at him. "Hey!"

"Dude you'll never believe what happened last night!" Kaminari said, walking beside me. I raised an eyebrow questioningly.

"Okay so I was hedgecrossing like normal last night, the meditation way, and I actually got connected to an ancestor!" Kaminari said. Now, I was interested.

"Dude seriously??" I said, not even trying to hide my excitement. Kaminari is a Wiccan witch, but he practices a niche type of witchcraft. He's called a Hedge Witch, which means that he can cross the fine line between reality and a different "realm." I know that sounds really fantasy-like, but it's not actually a realm. It just makes it to where he can talk to nature on a larger spectrum. He can talk to his gods and goddesses, and sometimes even ancestors. He can do this by either using astral projection (hedgecrossing) or lucid dreaming.

"Yes! And that's not all! He wasn't my ancestor, or that's what he told me. He was someone else's guardian ancestor, or something like that." Kaminari explained. My eyes widened.

"Whoa...what else did he say? I'm intrigued. It had to be something important for him to go through all the trouble of getting through to you..." I pondered out loud. Kaminari smiled proudly.

"Actually, he gave me instructions. They seemed really mundane, but I mean, it's gotta mean something. He said that I had to bring all of my closest friends into the clearing behind my house. You know, where I hedgecross usually..." Kaminari said, making me wonder.

"Wow, really? Who all are you going to invite?" I asked, wondering who Kaminari considers his closest friends.

"Let's see...you, Sero, Ashido...those are all the people that I have an instinct to invite. And you guys all know about me being Wiccan. So it won't be weird. Are you free?" Kaminari asked as we turned a corner on campus, nearing the building of my first class.

"Yeah, sounds good. Let's all meet at the entrance, is 5 okay?" I asked and Kaminari gave me a thumbs up. I turned to walk into the building that held my history class.

"Okay! Bye dude!" I yelled and Kaminari flashed a smile.

Well this is going to be...interesting.
