Fear Lan Qiren

Summary:

How would Uncle Lan Qiren react when he found out that his three precious Lan clan members came out to them as cut-sleeves??

Notes:

I'd like to clear this up before you start reading, uhhhhh Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling haven't had any smexy times yet. The most they've done was have heavy make out sessions in Lan Sizhui's jingshi(?). Both babies fear going anywhere past that because they're angels

Work Text:

It was time for Lan Wangji to announce the GusuLan sect about his cultivation partnership with Wei Wuxian. And taking into consideration Lan Qiren’s opinion of Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji could already guess what the reaction of his dear uncle was going to be. “Are you sure you want to go through with that?” Wei Wuxian asked for the hundredth time that day.

Lan Qiren had never liked Wei Ying. Like… ever. From the moment Wei Wuxian stepped foot into Cloud Recess, the elder radiated “Fuck no” energy. He never even tried to hide the fact that he strongly disliked Wei Ying, which the latter found kind of rude coming from one of the strictest members of the Lan clan.

“Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan! Will you protect me from the mighty wrath of your uncle!?” Wei Wuxian whined to his boyfriend, pretending to shake out of fear. Lil’ Apple huffed at Wei Wuxian’s shenanigans.

“Mm.” Came Lan Wangji’s simple answer.

“So cold you are Lan Er-Gege!” Wei Wuxian, once again, exclaimed dramatically, dropping limply onto Lil’ Apple. The unfortunate donkey whined in protest to the sudden extra weight from Wei Ying but wasn’t allowed further tantrum. Lan Wangji ended up pulling the reins to keep the annoyed animal moving.

---

“Lan Xichen.” Jiang Cheng bowed respectfully before said cultivator.

Lan Xichen only chuckled before waving Jiang Cheng off. “I still do not understand why you bow everytime we see each other,” Lan Xichen closed the distance between them and leaned down to whisper in the other’s ear, “Especially since we’ve been seeing each other for three years now.”

The seme chuckled when he felt the leader of the Jiang sect shiver at his words. Jiang Cheng scoffed and looked away, a hint of blush seeping up his cheeks. “That’s why it’s a secret,” He slowly moved his gaze back up to the GusuLan sect leader, “Don’t tell me….”

“Yes we are!” Lan Xichen started pulling Jiang Cheng towards the library pavilion with a huge yet soft smile on his face. Jiang Cheng went silent because oh my God the day has come!! I haven’t mentally prepared myself for this!!

As the YunmengJiang leader was having his mini bisexual breakdown, Lan Huan looked back over his shoulder with a curious look at his partner.

“I saw Jin Ling was with you when you two entered the Cloud Recess, where did he go?”

---

“Are you insane?!” Jin Ling exclaimed at Lan Sizhui, who was calmly sipping his Keemun black tea. Jin Ling had abruptly stood up and waved his arms in the air frantically to emphasize his reaction. Lan Sizhui just looked up at Jin Ling with a kind smile, looking as pure as ever under the afternoon sunlight and the blossom tree’s petals floating to the ground around him. “Sit down, Jin Rulan,” at the mention of his courtesy name, said boy froze and then slowly followed the other’s instructions.

No one ever really called him by his courtesy name, therefore he would always have the same reaction whenever he was called such name. Lan Sizhui was the only one who really ever called him ‘Jin Rulan,’ and when he did, it was because the Lan sect disciple had intentions of controlling him.

“I’m just saying, uncle Jiang will have your head and then mines.” Jin Ling pouted before presuming to drink his tea. Lan Yuan calmly put his cup down and then stared into Jin Ling’s honey golden eyes while smiling ‘innocently’, chin resting on the back of his hand ever so calmly, “Then we would have already had our fun by then.”

Jin Ling choked.

“LAN YUAN!” The young teen coughed, trying to get his labored breathing back to normal. Lan Sizhui calmly reached over and patted Jin Ling until he had control over his breathing. Jin Ling gulped what was left in his cup then poured some more tea. “I hate you sometimes…” Jin Ling murmured.

“Noooooo,” the junior Lan sect cultivator laughed wholeheartedly, “You love me!!”

“Yeah, yeah. So when are you planning to announce this?” Jin Ling proceeded to take a sip from his porcelain cup.

“Tonight at dinner time,” Lan Sizhui followed suit and took a sip as well.

Jin Ling choked again.

“Ohoho, we are so dead,” Jin Ling managed to get out after coughing and taking deep breaths.

---

“We are so going to be thrown into a pig”s cage,” Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Jin Ling silently thought as they were dragged to the dinner pavilion when the time came.

As Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji, Lan Xichen, and Jiang Cheng approached their table, they noticed that Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling were already seated at the tabled with Lan Qiren. Jiang Cheng eyed his nephew before bowing to Lan Qiren in respect. The elder man bowed his head back in acknowledgment and instructed the group to sit at the table. They followed suit as dinner was being served.

As the group and the rest of the disciples in the GusuLan sect began to eat, everyone else at different tables, Lan Qiren turned to Lan Xichen, “Lan Zhan, you told me when you arrived that you had something important to tell me.”

“I am going to be cultivation partners with Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji got straight to the point. He knew his uncle didn’t like when anyone beat around the bush. Lan Qiren stopped mid-picking up the slice of chicken, hands clutching the chopsticks in his hand. Wei Wuxian noticed such reaction and slowly started sipping on his lemon tea, occupying himself so he wouldn’t have to look at Lan Qiren’s cold gaze. Lan Xichen had been kind enough to hide his laughter behind his hand, while Jiang Cheng stayed still, mid-chew. Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui looked at each other with a hint of pride in their eyes.

“Very well,” Lan Qiren relaxed his hold on his chopsticks, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji both relaxing and breathing out a small sigh of relief. “If that’s what you want and that is what is going to make you happy for the rest of you living days, then I won’t stop you,” Lan Qiren paused, moving his gaze to the closeness between Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, “Not that I could stop you.”

“Thank you, uncle,” Lan Wangji gave a small smile and immediately the whole table fell silent and still. Wei Wuxian hurried to savor the moment since his soon-to-be husband’s face is almost always in a neutral face. Lan Qiren snapped out of it after a moment and coughed to get everyone functioning again.

“Actually. Uncle. I too have something I would like to share, now that we’re here,” Lan Xichen calmly stated, setting his chopsticks down properly.

Jiang Cheng froze when he heard his lover speak up. Is he actually going to do it…?

“Jiang sect leader Jiang Cheng and I are have been courting, but we yet have to determine if we would like to be Cultivation partners,” Lan Xichen explained, patiently waiting for a reaction.

Redness seemed to spread all over Lan Qiren’s face like a sunburn on a very pale person. The two junior disciples from different sects shivered at the ‘I am going to throttle someone’ vibes that Lan Qiren was giving off. Wei Wuxian couldn’t help but hide his face on Lan Wangji’s chest so he wouldn’t burst out laughing. He didn’t want to die again so soon. Lan Zhan could feel his lover shaking against his chest, and he immediately knew it was from laughter. He calmly patted Wei Ying’s back until he sat back up.

“My goodness!! Is there anyone at this table that isn’t gay!?” The oldest disciple at the table asked firmly.

Jin Ling slowly started putting up his hand, but Lan Sizhui gently pushed his hand back down. Jiang Cheng started choking, and Wei Wuxian completely lost it, laughing and rolling on the floor laugh-crying. Lan Qiren just stared with wide eyes at Lan Sizhui, who nervously smiled back at his adoptive granduncle, “We’ve been courting for about a year now.”

“I knew this was going to happen,” Lan Huan smiled at his nephew, supporting him without a doubt. Jiang Cheng was still trying to process what was being said besides the eldest twin Jade of Lan. Lan Qiren turned his cold stare to Lan Xichen in shock.

“I’m proud of you, Lan Yuan,” Lan Wangji nodded at his son in full support as well. Wei Wuxian stood up with a huge smile on his face and proceeded to pull his two boys in a tight hug. Lan Sizhui immediately hugged him back, but Jin Ling tried struggling against the senior’s hold. Alas, he admitted defeat and submitted to the hug. When Wei Wuxian has satisfied, he crawled back to his spot beside Hanguang-Jun, leaning against said man who ended up wrapping his arm around Wei Ying’s waist.

“When were you planning on telling me this, Jin Rulan?!” Jiang Cheng had finally snapped out of it but his tone still came out sharp and demanding as ever. Jin Ling immediately froze at the mention of the name, eyes slowly moving to meet with his uncle’s overbearing ones.

“Soon?” The young boy’s voice quivered at the response.

Lan Qiren huffed out a sigh, rubbing at his temples, eyes casted down because I seriously cannot with these boys!

“As long as no sex before marriage is happening, I won’t interfere,” Lan Qiren concluded.

Lan Wangji, Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng, Lan Sizhui, and Jin Ling averted their gazes, refusing to meet eyes with the elder.

Wei Wuxian smirked, “Heh, how could I stop such a beast??”

Everyone at the table froze, and Lan Wangji immediately pinched the other’s waist, hissing “Wei Ying!”

“YOU!!” Lan Qiren roared.
