Work Text:
“You’re fingernails are really pretty, Aya-chan,” Miki says, staring at her best friend’s hands.
Aya puts down her pen and looks at Miki. “What?”
“I was just looking at your nails. Do you file them?”
“No, I can’t be bothered with that,” Aya mutters.
Fair enough, Miki thinks, knowing Aya is a bit of a tomboy.
“Well they’re amazingly cute to look that way naturally. You’re lucky, Aya-chan.”
Aya raises an eyebrow, giving Miki a look that she interprets as: Can we just get back to our homework, please? But then she says, “Thanks.”
Miki grins, picking up her pen. “Hey, when we’re finished, do you want me to give you a manicure?”
Aya looks down at their boring, difficult mathematics homework, and sighs. She turns to Miki. “Why not now?”
And she knows Aya is only agreeing to procrastinate with her homework, but she still wants to do it. So Miki jumps to her feet and grabs her makeup bag.
She sets the bag on the table, shoving their school stuff out of the way, and takes out a nail file and a pot of nail varnish. And she gives Aya a grateful kiss and paints her girlfriend’s fingernails.
