Alarm Clock

Summary:

Five times Hoseok woke up Yoongi and one time he woke up next to him.

Notes:

Hey :)
This is my first time in this fandom and also the first time writing in English. Feel free to tell me if there are any mistakes.
This work was inspired by a scene in Run BTS! Ep. 55, in which Tae wakes up Suga(if you don't know it yet, here ya go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYcUzbRzymA) (doesn't take long, only a few seconds).
My sister and I went wild with ideas and today I remembered some of them and coughed up this... thing.
Next update not in sight yet.
Enjoy :3

Chapter 1: Frère Jacques

Chapter Text

As he stirred from unconsciousness, Yoongi immediately noticed that something was amiss. There was quiet whispering in his living room, then shuffling, quick footsteps and a door being shut quietly. He internally braced himself for the worst when he heard someone carefully and as quietly as possible open the door to his bedroom and sneak towards his desk. A click, more shuffling and then-

“ARE YOU SLEEPING? ARE YOU SLEEPING, PAPA YOON? PAPA YOON?”

Taehyung practically screamed the song into Yoongi's left ear from where he was standing next to the bed, ignoring the version playing in the background that was much quieter and would at least not have been painful to wake up to. The man groaned and pulled his pillow over his head to protect his sensitive ears from the merciless sounds his son let out.

Meanwhile, said son tried to climb the bed while continuing to scream the song at the top of his lungs. Once he had successfully climbed on top of the big lump that was his father, he jumped up and down to the beat of the music, barely able to sing anymore, due to a lack of air in his lungs. Luckily, Yoongi laid on his stomach and had a big and cosy blanket around himself, so at least he was saved from a kid jumping on said stomach or other important body parts - which had happened before, and he'd rather forego experiencing it a second time.

When he had finished his little 'performance', Taehyung sat down on Yoongi's back, pulled the pillow off him, hugged him tightly and asked “Daaad, can I go to the sea with Kookie and Minie? Please, please, please, say yes, they are here in ten minutes, pleeeease!”, sounding like the innocent angel he definitely wasn't. That much Yoongi knew.

“And how would you get there? I can't drive you, my car is currently in the workshop”, he mumbled, more into his pillow than towards his child.

“Their parents will take us! They are going to the aquarium and the beach and the ice cream and, and everything!” Now, Taehyung started bouncing up and down again, his excitement taking over.

“Alright, get dressed, I'll be there in a minute.” Probably ten, but his son didn't need to know that. Today was his free day and he had planned on sleeping in, but considering said son's plans, he would have to get up earlier. Oh, how he loved having a child. Sigh.

But Taehyung shook his head - or at least the way he moved indicated that he did - and bounced even more while almost going back to screaming with happiness.

“No, No! Tae am big boy, am dressed and have my bag ready to go! You sleep!”

The last sentence was a demand, as he brushed his small hand through his father's hair a few times and then attempted to close his eyes by attacking them with his chubby fingers.

Yoongi winced and turned his face away from the finger attack, then rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times to be able to see clearly. He turned around, and there sat his son, in a cute maroon sweater and jeans, with his Harry Potter socks on and a white bandana around his head to protect his ears from the wind. He looked so adorable, Yoongi wanted to hug him and never let him go. Which he then did, lying back down and pulling his son with him. Taehyung squeaked in surprise but didn't complain. Instead, he tried to get even closer to his dad by getting under the blanket with him.

“Sooo, you got your bag ready, hm? Did you pack your umbrella and water bottle?”
“Yes!” was probably what the boy answered but as he said it into Yoongi's Sweater, all the man heard was “Eh!”
“And the box for your seashells and pretty stones?”, he went down the list in his head.
An “Eh!” was heard again.
“A chocolate bar?”
“Eh!”
“Your red bucket?”
“Eh!”
“Have you brushed your teeth?”
“Eh!”

Yoongi raised an eyebrow and pulled away. “You sure?”

“Yes, haaaaaah!” made Taehyung and breathed into Yoongi's face so that the man could smell the toothpaste he used. Not entirely convinced but not able to prove him wrong, Yoongi let it go for the moment. He would definitely make sure his son brushed his teeth before going to bed later.

Before he could say anything else, the doorbell rang. Taehyung perked up, his eyes sparkling as he hugged his dad again and whisper-screamed “Goodbye, sleep well!” and placed a sweet kiss on his cheek, before dashing out of the room to open the front door. Greetings could be heard, the cheers of children, shuffling while Taehyung probably put on his jacket and shoes, then a shout: “We'll probably be back by six! We'll try to get Tae back in one piece! Have fun!”, the click of the front door, and it was silent again.

Heavenly silence. Oh, how Yoongi had grown to both love and hate it. Since Taehyung had learned how to move around on his own, silence had become a bad omen and sure sign that the kid was up to something. But the silence right now, without small feet running through rooms, without screams of joy or pain and without the hassle of always making sure you knew where your child was, this was heaven, and Yoongi closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth of his blanket and the silence surrounding him, and fell back asleep.

---

When he woke up the next time, something was off. Again. There was a sweet smell in the air and he could hear someone humming from the next room, coming closer. In the next moment, the door was opened and a head peeked in. When Yoongi didn't stir, the door opened further and made room for a fully grown man with a tray in his hands. He came in, closed the door and put the tray on the bedside table.

“Yoongiii~”, he cooed, not wanting this second wake up call to be as painful as the first one. He gently shook Yoongi's shoulder, whose only answer was to pull away and hide under his pillow for the second time that morning.

“Come on, it's already eleven! I made plans and we need to stick to the timetable because I can promise you the kids won't and we'll have to cut our date short.”

Yoongi just growled and attempted to pull the other man into bed with him, who had already seen that coming and grabbed Yoongi to pull him up into a sitting position instead.

“Hoseok, I swear to god, one of these days I'm gonna stab you so I can sleep in peace!”, he complained but even though his voice was whiny, his face told a completely different story, as he already eyed the goods on the tray the other had brought with him. Said man faked a scared expression and fell on his knees in front of the bed. “No! Please don't! Have mercy with this poor soul! I even got Taehyung ready for you so you could sleep longer! I-”

“You what?” Yoongi interrupted him, confused. His eyes snapped up towards his friend. “How did you even get in here? And why did you play replacement-dad?”

Hoseok's face lit up.

“That was fairly easy, actually. Two days ago, when we were over at Namjoon and Seokjin's, they suggested going to the sea today but opted to only take Tae with them when I told them about our plans. So I told Tae I'd be here at 8 and he should open the door for me when I knocked and said the code word but that he was under no circumstances allowed to wake you. So I came here, expecting the bag to be ready and only prepared to get the child into his clothes when he told me that he hadn't even asked you if he could go yet. I panicked but got him ready nevertheless, then gave him my phone with a song to play to wake you up. I instructed him on how to do it and asked him what he needed in his bag and got it ready for him. And the rest, you know.” Hoseok ended the explanation with a big gesture of his hands, smile on his face brighter than ever and probably expecting a hug.

Instead, Yoongi just huffed and took to inspecting the food tray further. He decided to go for the coffee first and handed over one of the sandwiches.

“Have you even eaten yet?” he mumbled into his mug.

“Nope, I wanted to do it together”, Hoseok answered with a gentle smile. He sat down next to Yoongi and took a bite of his sandwich.

“Mmmmh! Oh my god, these are wonderful! Ah, whoever made these is a god!”, he exclaimed, his face lighting up. Yoongi just gave him an unimpressed glare.

“Stop praising yourself for being able to put cheese and salad between two slices of bread”, he answered and went back to sipping his coffee. “This, tho”, he said, raising the cup, “This is great. I'll need it every morning from now on”, he demanded, trying to keep his face expressionless but failing miserably as a wide, content smile spread across his lips. Hoseok just laughed.

“The problem with that isn't me not wanting to do just that for the rest of your life, though. It's me living almost an hour away from your flat. I won't get up an hour earlier just so you can have coffee. You can forget that right now.” And even though he said it in an amused tone, his expression was serious. Yoongi sighed.

“Fine, I'll make Taehyungie do it.”

Hoseok snorted into his food, almost dropping it onto the bed.
