Chapter 1: How Taehyung Kept Jungkook Warm

Chapter Text

Jungkook has always been that one kid in class who is always ready to raise his hand to participate.

He loves getting good grades, reading, working on projects... Or. Well, he feels obligated to like these kind of things considering they are the only hobbies he has. Jungkook doesn't really have friends. He's quite the loner. The kind that has lunch at the library— just a cheese and ham sandwich— or under a tree in the middle of campus. He is not used to attention, unless it is from his family.

So when this guy, Kim Taehyung, out of nowhere starts to slowly find his way into his life, he honestly doesn't know how to react.

Jungkook was very, very aware of Taehyung. How could he not? Taehyung is literally in every single club that includes arts at the college. He's part of the drama club, music club, chorus club, etc... He's well known for playing the main roles of almost every show. He is also well known for his saxophone and van gogh drawing skills. Oh, and let's not forget about his singing voice— or just his voice in general.

The guy has a very deep voice, ok?

Jungkook found him very beautiful and handsome, but that was mostly it. He was fully aware about Taehyung being completely out of his league, so Jungkook never thought of himself talking to the guy, or even worse befriending him.

Taehyung has always sat behind him on the class they have together: Japanese. Jungkook never turned to look back. That was until the day Taehyung started talking to him.

It was on a Tuesday while they were in Japanese class— four in the afternoon. Jungkook was taking notes quickly when suddenly he felt a finger poke him on his right shoulder. At first he thought it was just his mind but then he felt it again, plus a "pssst Jk!" and ok— Jungkook was never given a nickname besides Kookie (only his mother is allowed to call him that since she gave it to him in the first place). Jungkook was in shock and very confused, so he turned around slowly.

"Sorry, man. Dropped my pencil. Pass it to me? It's right under your chair."

Jungkook had stared for what felt like a thousand years. Taehyung could have easily gotten the pencil by himself. He could have stretched his leg and rolled it back. Jungkook suddenly snapped out of his thoughts when Taehyung, out of nowhere, said "Please?" So he nodded nervously and handed it back.

Their fingers brushed slightly— Jungkook's eyes going wide at the sight of those long, long fingers— and Taehyung smiled widely, eyes sparkling. "Thanks, man." He winked and Jungkook turned around the fastest he could and continued writing down.

He felt his body buzzing and he didn't know why. That had been the first time he had spoken to anyone in this specific class. No joke, he's that antisocial.

After that, Jungkook felt as if he saw Taehyung everywhere. He would go to the library and Taehyung would be there, he'd go to the coffee shop, Taehyung would be there, and so on. Every time he saw him, Jungkook's heart would race and he'd make himself leave to a different spot.

The second time Kim Taehyung spoke to him was two days later. It was at the beginning of class and Jungkook had just sat down when he felt the same tap on his shoulder. Today Jungkook was wearing a red beanie, which he was so grateful of deciding to wear because that way he was able to hide under it (or at least feel as if it was helping him hide himself).

Taehyung had leaned forward, face getting closer and Jungkook's eyes went just a tad bit wider. "Did we have homework?" He asked, chuckling right after. "Sorry, it's just— I had so much to do yesterday and I completely forgot about this class, you know?"

"But... we didn't have this class yesterday." Jungkook mumbled under his breath. Taehyung's eyebrows went up, asking Jungkook to repeat himself because he wasn't able to hear. "Uh— nothing!" Jungkook shook his head, blushing furiously and looking down from Taehyung's eyes, instead staring at his shoes, which were Puma. "And, no. We didn't have any homework."

"Cool, thanks."

And there it was again, that wide smile that made Jungkook's cheeks go twice as red. Jungkook turned around to hide himself into his hands. He was so embarrassed, he couldn't imagine how red his face must be. Jungkook slightly groaned into his hands when he heard Taehyung chuckle softly behind him, but luckily the teacher walked in that exact second so Jungkook was able to ignore those inner thoughts.

The third time Taehyung spoke to him, it wasn't as much as last time. It was actually just two words, them being: "Good Job, Jk."

The reason he said this was because the (stupid fucking) teacher had decided to call the best students to read out loud some paper they had turned in a while ago. Nervous was an understatement at how Jungkook felt. The moment he had taken the paper from the teacher's hands and was standing in front of twenty five students, his eyes found Taehyung's and his legs immediately started to tremble. Once he was done and was sent back to his chair, Taehyung had congratulated him. Jungkook only smiled nervously as a thank you and sat down, crying internally.

Now, the fourth time... The fourth time Jungkook kind of fucking lost it. He was taking out his things when he heard his beautiful deep voice. Jungkook looked up and cursed internally for waking up late and not being able to put on his contacts. Taehyung must think he looks weird wearing glasses.

"Is this seat taken?" Taehyung asked, long finger pointing at the table that was right beside Jungkook's. Jungkook stared at the desk and then up at the hyung. Act normal. He shook his head and looked back at his stuff. He saw from the corner of his eye as Taehyung smiled and sat down right beside him. "I guess we're desk buddies now, then."

Jungkook did not answer. All he could do was bite the inside of his cheek. "I like your glasses by the way, you should wear them more often."

Jungkook started wearing his glasses more.

Not because of Taehyung, obviously, but because he felt like it. (He's very aware that's bullshit but he will never accept it to anyone but himself.)

Taehyung also started to sit with Jungkook every day.

Sometimes their elbows would knock into one another's, so Taehyung would hold Jungkook's arm and rub it gently while apologizing. Jungkook would only shake his head dismissively and turn back to his writing.

Jungkook didn't mind the older boy at all. He quite liked having someone to talk to, even if the only one talking was Taehyung, and those interactions consisted of a few words and smiles.

The fifth time was completely unexpected and Jungkook really wanted to run away but his feet stayed put. He also kind of wanted to jump off a bridge the moment his voice cracked as he tried to answer Taehyung.

Jungkook had just gotten out of another class and was heading to the picnic tables to work on Japanese homework. (He might or might not have gotten really into Japanese because every time they would get a test back and he would have an A+, Taehyung would always say something like: "Wow, Jk! You're so smart" or "Woah, you're really good at Japanese.")

"Jeon Jungkook!" Jungkook had froze right on the spot. Carefully, he turned around to find where the voice was coming from. "Jungkook!" Jungkook's eyes went wide when he saw Taehyung jogging towards him, computer case hugged tightly as he gently pushed some people out of his way. "Jungkook, hey," he smiled sweetly at the younger boy once he was standing in front of him.

"Uh, hey." Jungkook's voice cracked on the hey. He quickly covered his mouth, cheeks and ears going red. Tahyung laughed loudly and pushed him gently by the shoulder, mumbling "cute". Jungkook coughed into his fist and started once again, "Hey."

"Hello." Taehyung let out a short laugh. He's holding his computer (which is inside the case) on his right side, close to his leg, while his left hand is inside his trouser's left pocket.

"Do you- uh... Do you need something?" Jungkook asked in a soft voice. His wide eyes stared at Taehyung's. Just for a second, though. Taehyung's stare was so intense that he couldn't keep eye contact for long.

"Oh! Yeah, uh, just wanted to ask what you were doing until class starts." The older boy shrugged. Jungkook's eyes wend wide and he immediately started stuttering, scratching the back of his head as he looked around. "I was wondering if you wanted to head to class with me, you know? Maybe we can study before class? We can hang out until class starts. That is, if you're up to it."

"I, uh... Sure!" Jungkook shrugged. "I was actually going to the picnic area. Since, you know, it's closer to the class... Not that I always go there or whatever." Jungkook turned to look away, biting his bottom lip. As if that would stop him from feeling nervous.

"Don't you eat lunch there, though?" Taehyung tilted his head to the side cutely. Jungkook wanted to cry. "I walk through there everyday for drama club. I always see you sitting by yourself. Today you won't be alone, though! I'll keep you some company, Jk." And Jungkook kind of smiled at that. He felt a warm and fuzzy feeling inside his tummy. The feeling only became warmer when he turned to look at the hyung, who was already smiling at him, so Jungkook smiled back.

As they sat down on the picnic tables Taehyung started to bombard him with questions. "How old are you? 'Cause i'm pretty sure I'm your hyung. How are you so good at Japanese? What are your hobbies? What's your favourite color? and Jungkook kindly answered all of this questions. Taehyung even answered some of them back.

"So are you dating anyone?" Jungkook chocked on his water, quickly putting it down and swallowing the fastest he could. Taehyung's eyebrows were raised.

"No...? No guy. Ha-ha..." Jungkook laughed nervously. "Isn't it obvious?" Jungkook motioned to the picnic table that was usually alone.

"Why would it be obvious?"

"You said it yourself, I'm always sitting alone."

"You can be dating someone that's not from here." The other shrugged, taking a long sip of his tea. "You never know." Jungkook rolled his eyes fondly. "What about... Are you into anyone?" Jungkook's eyes went wide and he just turned to look back at his own computer, acting as if he was typing so he could look kind of busy and as if he didn't hear what Taehyung said.

'I'm so into you what the fuck do you want me to say you trick ass bitch' is most definitely not what Jungkook was writing into his computer.

"Um." Jungkook ends up shaking his head. He decides to ask something else because it is rude not to answer when asked a question. His mother has taught him well. "What about you? Any lucky ladies?"

"More like any lucky guys... But nope. Single." Taehyung shrugs and Jungkook types out a long YEEEESSSS into his word document. "I am into someone, though." NOOOOOO

"That's... That's great." Jungkook fakes a laugh.

"Hey, I like your bracelet!" Taehyung suddenly points out and takes Jungkook's hand into his. Jungkook's face becomes hot. Taehyung's long fingers wrap around his own as he stared at the bracelet. "It's sick!" Taehyung drawls out. "Wow, your hands are warm." Taehyung comments and intertwines their fingers. "Mine are kind of cold so maybe you can help me out.

"Y-Yeah."

The second time Taehyung touched his hand was exactly two weeks later when Jungkook dropped all of his stuff right in the middle of the grass field. He started to quickly pick up all his books and papers. His prince charming came out of nowhere and started to help him as well. Jungkook smiled and mumbled a small "thanks."

Honestly, Taehyung was too good for this world (nothing you didn't already know) because he insists on carrying Jungkook's stuff for him. Every night, because of this kind of events, Jungkook thanks the lords that are looking over him for sending someone as nice, perfect, beautiful, incredible, smart, handsome— you get it— to his life. Taehyung could perfectly be with anyone else, yet here he is, with Jungkook out of all people.

It is a few days later when he falls face first on the fucking muddy ground, right on Taehyung's feet. Jungkook was late and it was all the librarian's fault because she didn't find Jungkook's book that she had promised to give him that day. His phone had buzzed and it had been a text from Taehyung, asking where he was. Jungkook had gasped loudly and told the librarian to forget it.

There was no way Jungkook was about to lose his perfect attendance score because of a stupid book.

To be fair, he had never ran that fast in his life. Not even at the IU fan greeting he had attended years ago (or maybe he did, just shut the fuck up). He was so into arriving on time that he had completely forgotten about the muddy hole in front of the building's main door. So his foot slipped into it and his face immediately landed on the puddle. No one was on sight anyway so he didn't really care, but he was still quite upset when he noticed his favourite Iron Man jumper was ruined.

Out of nowhere, puma shoes were right in front of him and his eyes started to fill up with tears of shame. There he was, Kim Taehyung, standing in front of him. Jungkook had never felt more embarrassed in his life. He sat on his knees, refusing to look at Taehyung, but the boy leaned down and stretched his hand for Jungkook to take, so he did.

"Alright clumsy pants, let's get you cleaned up, okay?" Taehyung took out some tissues and started to clean Jungkook's face gently. "Don't be upset, we can just wash the jumper, okay? Please don't cry." Jungkook hadn't even noticed tears were running down his face. "Now, come on, we don't want your perfect attendance to go downhill, yeah?"

And Taehyung took a hold of his hand, lacing their fingers.

They end up walking to class with their hands still intertwined. Jungkook's heart is beating way too fast for it to be healthy but who the fuck cares when you have Kim Taehyung holding your goddamn hand. Once they enter, people are kind of staring, Jungkook even hears someone ask who he is. He kind of wants to yell "I'm the guy holding your dream man's hand so shut the fuck up."

But that's 1) rude, and 2) he would never be able to do such thing.

Taehyung even offers to help him clean his jumper.

That night, Jungkook barely sleeps.

It becomes a routine to have lunch together.

Another thing that became a routine was holding hands. Taehyung's hands seemed to always be cold so he would take Jungkook's hands without asking permission. They would now sit beside each other on the picnic table, not across, because Taehyung's whole body would be cold so he would sit very close to Jungkook. Sometimes, he would ask Jungkook random questions and if he didn't answer them he would either tickle or poke him under the chin. Jungkook would mumble "stop" and push him slightly away but Taehyung would continue and pull his cheek and tell him how cute he was.

A few weeks ago they bumped into each other at a cafe in the morning. Jungkook had thought that breakfast would also become a thing, but to his disappointment, it did not. Probably because Taehyung has breakfast with his friends— his cool friends. Taehyung had even tried introducing him to them. Jungkook had stupidly agreed and Taehyung had said: "I'll be right back, don't go anywhere." The moment he left, Jungkook ran out of the cafe to hide somewhere very, very far away.

Now Jungkook is nervously tapping his pencil onto his notebook. Class doesn't start until another ten minutes and he is already sitting at the desk, notebook open and ready for class. He isn't actually ready for class, though. He's nervous of what Taehyung will say about running away. He already thought of a thousand different outcomes, and while at it he noticed that maybe the reason Taehyung is doing all of this is because maybe he feels pity for him.

He's snapped out of his thoughts when he feels arms wrapping around his shoulders and a chin rests right on top of his head. "Hello there, bunny."

Taehyung's voice fills up his ears. The class is still empty - Jungkook notices - which means Taehyung came looking for him. That's gotta mean something right? Right? Jungkook groans internally and whines. Sadly, he didn't whine inside his head, and this causes Taehyung to frown and move to sit beside him. One of his hands land on Jungkook's knee. Jungkook doesn't dare turn to look at him.

"What's wrong, Kookie?"

Oh yeah, Taehyung also started calling him Kookie because when he added his phone number into Jungkook's phone, he saw a text from his mother that said "Have a nice day, Kookie!". His mother is now on his black list.

Jungkook shakes his head and moves his hand to take a hold of his pencil once more, since he accidentally dropped it when Taehyung startled him. Taehyung stops him, though, and takes a hold of his hand instead.

"Come on, Jungkook, you know you can tell me anything. We're friends—"

"Are we really, though?" Jungkook asks in a low voice. He hates how soft his voice came out. Taehyung's eyebrows raise in confusion, his head slightly tilting to the side. "Don't you just... Don't you just feel pity for me? Isn't that why you keep hanging out with me?" Taehyung gapes at him. "You have friends, Tae. I'm just a bother." Jungkook frowns and looks at his own lap. He distracts himself playing with his ripped jeans, using his free hand.

"God no! Jungkook, come on!" Taehyung moves his chair closer. He takes a hold of Jungkook's chin and gently turns his head so they're both looking at each other. "I hang out with you because I find you fun to be around. I have been wanting to become your friend since forever now! I would always try to find a way to talk to you because you're so smart and cute!" Taehyung then pinches his cheek. "Don't you dare say it's because I feel pity. The only people I feel pity for are those that don't notice how amazing you are." Jungkook scoffs at the hyung's cheesiness. "But I guess I prefer that they don't pay attention to you because it means I've got you all to myself."

Jungkook feels as if his heart just stopped. He smiles nervously at Taehyung and thanks him.

They end up hugging and Jungkook can't help but feel as if their friendship became stronger.

Two months later Jungkook starts to open up more the hyung.

One day Jungkook finally accepted on letting Taehyung enter his dorm so they could have a study session. Jungkook doesn't share his dorm, which meant they had the room completely by themselves. Taehyung had texted him he would be arriving in fifteen minutes, after music club. Jungkook had never cleaned up so fast in his life. He was so busy cleaning that he didn't notice he was still wearing his bunny pajamas.

Taehyung had arrived wearing a long coat, ripped jeans, button up, a bandanna (the reason why Jungkook's acne disappeared), and his huge saxophone case, which by the way, is getting old. The moment Jungkook had opened the door, Taehyung burst into laughter. Jungkook didn't understand why until he looked down and noticed the bunnies covering his body. He blushed furiously and closed the door once Taehyung had walked in.

"You look so cute!" Taehyung pointed at him and continued laughing.

"Stop laughing, hyung." Jungkook mumbled under his breath. He made his way to his bed and sat crisscrossed on it, taking out his notebooks to study. Taehyung places his saxophone beside the shoe rack and makes his way to the younger lad, flopping down beside him. He falls on his back, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. "How was the club?" Jungkook asks as he writes down on his notebook.

"Fun. I'm gonna be playing for the next musical."

"Aren't you the main actor on that too?"

"Yeah. Why do you ask?" Taehyung then opens his eyes. Jungkook shakes his head, rolling his eyes at the boy's cockiness. "Jungkook..." Taehyung drawls out, opening his arms. Jungkook decides on ignoring him. He needs to focus. They're supposed to be studying, this is a study session anyway. "Jk. Jungkook. Bunny. Kook. Kook-ah. Kookie. Jungkook-ah. Baby." At that, Jungkook freezes up. He slaps Taehyung on the thigh and goes back to writing.

"Focus, Taehyung. This is supposed to be a study session."

"Ugh, you're such a party pooper!" Taehyung pokes him on the ribs, making him jump. "Come on, come hereee!" Taehyung continues to whine and Jungkook finally puts down his stuff and turns to look at Taehyung. "Cuddle with me. Just for a bit, yeah? Ten minutes tops." Jungkook has never cuddled with someone, and he really doesn't know how to do it. He shakes his head, going to stand up and walk to his study table but Taehyung takes his hand and pulls him down. The dongsaeng lets out a yelp.

His head falls right beside Taehyung's, who turns to look at him and smiles widely. He intertwines their legs, moving just a bit closer. If Jungkook moved a bit as well, their noses would probably touch. Once again, his face becomes red like a tomato and his eyes are wide. Taehyung chuckles under his breath.

"Why do you get so nervous around me? I thought we were passed that stage, Kook-ah."

"W-We are. I'm just surprised— startled— that's all." Jungkook tries to shrug as if everything is cool.

"Are you sure?" Taehyung asks as he takes Jungkook's hand into his own and also links their fingers together.

"I-Is your hand cold again?"

"Nah. I just like holding your hand." Taehyung smiles sincerely. Jungkook feels like he stops breathing for a moment. He wonders what he did to have someone like Taehyung in his life. He never thought he needed someone like him but now that he has him he really hopes Taehyung never leaves. Jungkook decided to live in the moment and holds onto Taehyung's hand as well, smiling. "Do you like holding mine?"

Jungkook nods.

"Good." Taehyung lets out a sigh of relief. "Because even if you didn't I would still do it. Since, you know, I'm cold all the time."

"Yeah." Jungkook breathes out.

Jungkook screams into his pillow.

Like three times tops.

Or ten but that's not the point. Taehyung left two minutes ago. His phone is ringing, waiting for his mother to pick up. Finally, when she does, Jungkook cries into the phone. His mother is completely startled and she starts to ask what the hell is wrong and if he was kidnapped and just escaped or something because he sounds as if he just ran the goddamn mile.

"Mum there's this guy and I really like him and I don't know what to do because he likes someone else but he's so cute with me and I don't know if he's flirting with me because I don't know the definition of flirting but I do know the definition of fantasy and that's what I have! I'm trapped in a stupid fantasy and I have pinched myself fifteen times because he cannot be real!" Jungkook stops his ramble and breathes quickly, gasping for air.

"Oh my goodness, Jungkook, calm down!" His mother tells him. "A-Are you actually crying?"

"Uh..." Jungkook stays quiet. "Maybe."

"Oh wow! You're in love!" Excuse you, who said anything about love?! Jungkook barely even knew what love was.

"He called me baby today, mum! I almost died! He is a murderer!" Jungkook claims as he moves around his bed to get comfortable. "We need to get a restraining order. He cannot be near me. Ever again. I might die if he continues—"

"Can you stop being so dramatic?" She tsks. "Alright, tell me about him.

They talk for exactly four hours, only about Taehyung. That's gotta be unhealthy. His mother doesn't seem to mind, though. She just listens and comments from now and then. She lets Jungkook talk his heart out about this Taehyung guy and she already loves him because anyone that makes Jungkook happy is welcomed to the Jeon family. The call ends a later with Jungkook yawning and her telling him to go to sleep because he sounds tired and stressed.

The next morning Jungkook dresses up really nice and decides to take his glasses to class. Today he really had ran out of contacts so that was a bummer but hopefully Taehyung will compliment him about how he looks. Jungkook still has twenty minutes until his class starts so he decides on heading to the campus cafe to get some iced coffee. While he's at it, he notices Taehyung isn't sitting with his friends, so he thinks of maybe getting one coffee for Taehyung as well.

Though he doesn't want to buy one and then see Taehyung enter and buy one for himself and sit down his his friends. So, Jungkook makes himself grow some balls and heads over to Taehyung's group of friends.

"Uh, hi!" Jungkook nervously greets them. They all stop talking and turn to look at him. They're serious at first but then one with chubby cheeks yells "Oh my god, it's Jungkook! You're Jungkook, aren't you? Please tell me your Jeon Jungkook!" And Jungkook nods nervously. The boy squeals and pulls at a tall lad's arm. Jungkook knows him, his name is Namjoon. They have chemistry class together.

"Hi, I'm Jimin!" The same boy greets. "This is Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, and Seokjin!" Jungkook waves shyly. "So, is there anything you need?"

"Um just—"

"Taehyung won't be joining us for breakfast today if that's what you're going to ask." The scary one that looks like a kitten— Yoongi— says. Jimin suddenly throws him a napkin ball and shakes his head.

"Excuse his manners, he's grumpy in the morning." Jimin rolls his eyes. "But yeah, Taehyung won't be joining us today. Anything else?"

"Um no, nothing. Thank you!" Jungkook smiles one last time and heads back to the counter to order two iced coffees. As he's walking out, he notices Jimin waving goodbye with excitement. They weren't so bad after all... Jungkook thinks to himself as he walks through the rocky floor. Jungkook's phone buzzes and he places the coffees on the grass as he checks it.

Taehyung

mght be a bitttt late for jp class today !

plz tell the prof for me x

Me

sure hyung!

Me

why tho ???

Taehyung doesn't answer so Jungkook decides on continuing his walk to class. He feels like his day is going actually quite well. Even if it's just the morning. He was able to talk to Taehyung's friends without his help and honestly, Jungkook feels quite proud. Also, his coffee has a cute guy's number on it, and even if Jungkook is crushing on Taehyung and really doesn't care about the other guy, it makes him buzz with excitement because that had never happened to him.

Sadly, his happiness is ruined when he sees Taehyung outside of the club building, sitting on the stairs with a pretty girl. At first they're just talking, reading some papers, but then they're looking at each other and Taehyung kind of points at both of them and then they're kissing. They kiss for just a second and that's enough for Jungkook's mouth to drop open, and it's enough to get him upset and throw Taehyung's coffee into the first rubbish bin he finds.

Taehyung arrives about ten minutes later to class. Jungkook doesn't even turn to look at him when Taehyung whispers a "Hello."  Taehyung was literally late because he was with some girl. Only god knows what the heck they did on the past ten minutes and Jungkook most definitely doesn't want to know. He scribbles down notes with so much force while he frowns at the paper, glaring at it so strongly it could cut holes into it.

When class finishes, Jungkook throws everything into his bag the fastest he can and runs out of the class. Nobody seems startled at the way Jungkook ran out, only Taehyung, who is currently calling for him and running behind to catch up with him, and when he finally does, he takes a hold of Jungkook's arm and turns him around so they're facing each other.

"Jungkook, what happened?"

Don't cry, Don't cry... Jungkook mumbles to himself. "Nothing, Tae, I'm just— I just had a bad morning, okay?" Jungkook covers his face so Taehyung won't be able to see him all vulnerable.

"Awe, baby— "

"Don't." Jungkook hold out his hand. "Please don't call me that." Jungkook shakes his head and looks down, letting his hair cover his face. He hopes the ground swallows him whole and never lets him out, or at least lets him out somewhere far away like El Salvador. Yeah, El Salvador would we perfect.

"Okay, I'm sorry." Taehyung mumbles. "What can I do to help you? Please don't cry."

"I'm not crying." Jungkook states roughly first. It's the truth, he isn't. There are no tears on his face. "Sorry. It's just..." Jungkook sighs. "I didn't know you had a girlfriend, Tae." Jungkook shrugs when he finally looks up.

"Wait what?" Taehyung shakes his head. "A... A girlfriend?! Where the hell did you get that idea from? Don't tell me you spoke to Hoseok. Listen, he says he isn't, but I'm sure he's on crack—"

"I saw you kissing her!" Jungkook accuses. "Don't lie to my face, hyung!"

"You saw— Ohhhh!" Taehyung suddenly starts chuckling and shaking his head. "At the stairs in front of the building—?" Jungkook nods and Taehyung lets out a long sigh. "Jungkookie, you got it all wrong! You see, the reason I was late today was because I had drama rehearsals. My partner was scared of the kissing scene, so I told her we could meet up. Besides, I'm not even into girls. I told you!"

Okay, this would be the perfect moment for the ground to swallow him up and throw him to El Salvador- San Salvador to be specific because there's a really good pupusa restaurant- okay that's not the point.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Jungkook apologizes quickly. "I'm so stupid, I even bought you coffee and threw it away—"

"Don't worry about it, Kook. We all get confused sometimes." Taehyung shrugs. "wait- you threw away the coffee you bought me?!" Taehyung gasps. "How dare you, Jeon Jungkook!" Jungkook giggles under his breath, pushing Taehyung slightly. "Listen brat, instead of pushing me why don't you buy me that coffee, huh?"

And Jungkook agrees, which is why they're now at the coffee shop and Taehyung's face is serious like a fucking rock. His jaw is clenched and his nails keep tapping the table. Jungkook is sipping on his straw and he tries to follow Taehyung's eyes. They always land on Jungkook's cup.

Jungkook is about to ask what's wrong but Taehyung stands up and mumbles an "I'll be right back." He walks away to the counter and all Jungkook can see is Taehyung talking to the man behind the counter, poking his chest.

Taehyung then comes back, sweating. "Are you okay? You're...sweating." Jungkook asks with worry. What the heck did Taehyung do to come back looking like... This.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Taehyung shakes his head. "Hey! What's that on your cup?" Taehyung places his chin on his hand.

"Oh, it's just—" Before he can continue, Taehyung decides to move beside Jungkook. He throws an arm around his waist and moves closer, placing his chin on the younger's shoulder. Taehyung takes Jungkook's hand and laces their fingers together. "U—Uh, it's um, someone wrote their number... I guess." Jungkook shrugs. "They actually did it this morning a well—"

"Wow... You don't say?" Taehyung is biting at his bottom lip when he asks, "But you won't text them right?"

Jungkook shrugs. "Well, we could become friends. Another friend wouldn't hurt me." Taehyung moves just a bit closer and snuggles his nose on Jungkook's cheek.

"Am I not enough?" He teases the younger one. Jungkook gulps, body going rigid as he chuckles nervously. "I'm kidding, love." Taehyung pulls away and pinches his cheek. "You do whatever you want."

It's four weeks later when it fucking happens.

Taehyung and Jungkook are sitting at the picnic table, both on their computers, legs pressed together, one of Taehyung's arms around Jungkook's waist. Jungkook is showing him some memes he found on twitter and they're both laughing together. It's quite chilly and Jungkook is wearing Taehyung's jacket. The boy had a sweater under the jacket so Jungkook was fine with taking it, knowing Taehyung wasn't going to die from hypothermia.

"O—Oh my god look at this one!" Jungkook points at his screen while laughing. Taehyung reads it over and immediately bursts into laughter. Jungkook's is laughing as well and he turns to look at Taehyung's laughing glory, because yeah- he looks incredibly handsome and beautiful when he laughs. Taehyung turns to look at him as well and they continue to giggle crazily.

"You look so cute when you laugh." Taehyung comments and holds Jungkook tighter around the waist. His other hand moves to his chin to hold him there as he giggles and comments about Jungkook's front teeth. "Look at this bunny teeth, they're so adorable—" And suddenly Taehyung leans forward and kisses him right on the mouth. Jungkook's eyes go wide and he pulls away. Taehyung's eyes open quickly and starts apologizing the fastest he can.

"No, no, don't worry." Jungkook shakes his head and turns to his computer, moving a few centimeters away from Taehyung. "It's... It's okay, don't worry. Let's just go back to studying, yeah?" Jungkook comments and flashes him a short smile. Taehyung nods, deciding not comment and gets into working.

Jungkook feels all his body radiating sunshine and exploding fireworks. At first he thought it might be diarrhea, but it's just the feeling of being able to kiss the one you have feelings for. Taehyung had just stolen his first kiss by complete accident, and now Jungkook knows that Taehyung does have feelings for him and it's not just a "fling" kind of thing. The kiss wasn't planned, which meant Taehyung had just felt like it was appropriate to do so. Besides, they have been acting like boyfriends for a while now. Jungkook has heard the rumors.

They don't speak until they're walking back to Jungkook's dorm. It's Jungkook the one who does so (yeah, quite impressive). "Tae..." He starts off. Taehyung looks up at him. His hands are inside his sweater pockets. Jungkook pokes them and says "My hands are kind of cold." In a soft voice while his face starts to burn up all over again. A smile breaks out on Taehyung's face and he takes out a hand, intertwining his fingers with Jungkook's.

"Uhm... Tae?" Jungkook speaks up again. The only thing you can hear is the grass underneath their feet and the slight sound of the wind. It's already six pm and the area is quite lonely.

"Yeah?" Taehyung asks while turning to look at the boy.

"My... I'm kind of cold, actually." He shrugs, hugging himself. Taehyung then moves closer and wraps an arm around his waist, pulling him the closest he can.

"Is this okay?"

"Yeah," Jungkook breathes out. "That's... That's perfect."

Before they know it, they're in front of Jungkook's dorm and he is opening up the door with the key. Jungkook steps into the room and turns around to look at the hyung. He smiles shyly and mumbles a "goodnight, hyung" while Taehyung says it back, "goodnight, kook. sleep well", and even though they both already said their goodbyes, they're still standing there. Jungkook bites his bottom lip, looking at the floor.

"I uh..."

Jungkook stutters. He then takes a deep breath and takes a step forward, pecking Taehyung on the lips and quickly shutting the door once he's back inside his room. Jungkook lets himself slide down the door and fall to the floor. He doesn't know if Taehyung is still there, standing outside the door, so Jungkook looks through the peep hole and notices Taehyung standing there, fingers touching his lips when suddenly a smile breaks through his face. The boy does a weird little dance and starts mumbling "yes! yes! yes!" which Jungkook can actually hear but won't say anything about it to Taehyung.

That night, Jungkook calls his mother and they talk until eleven.

Jungkook also screams twenty times into his pillow.
