Work Text:
Jimin and Hoseok were curled up next to each other on their old couch they’d picked up one day from a curb. It was 3 am, and they often found themselves in this position. They had a sort of nightly routine they would find they’d follow on these nights. They would start with watching a movie on tv earlier in the night. A lot of times, they weren’t even very good, and they would just make fun of it, laughing until they couldn’t breathe. However, after one or two of these movies, they would find that nothing else interesting would be on the tv. They’d just watch whatever crap was on, whether it be reruns or infomercials, with little to no interest, sometimes one of them moving from their spot on the couch to change the channel to another one every now and again. However, during these little arrangements they would find that they were both too comfortable where they were and unwilling to move. They both enjoyed each other’s company so much they didn’t need anything to watch, they were content enough just in each other’s presence. It was a comfortable routine, with roles they both filled.
This night was no different. They were both snuggled up together under the same fluffy blanket on their worn-out couch. The dull drone of the tv show could be heard in the background, but neither of them were paying attention to it. Jimin’s arms were around Hoseok, one of his hands rubbing his torso or thighs every once in a while. Hoseok was curled up next to Jimin, his legs resting on top of Jimin’s and his head on Jimin’s chest, fingers wound into his shirt. They were completely content just wound up in each other’s arms.
Jimin leaned into Hoseok closer, as it was time for him to ask him the question he always would during these 3am cuddling sessions.
“Hobi,” Jimin said softly, “do you want to go to bed now? It’s getting late.”
At this, Hoseok only whined quietly and said, burying his head into Jimin’s chest, “no, I don’t want to move. I’m comfortable here.”
Jimin had expected this answer, but it was all part of their little routine they had. Instead of answering Hoseok, he simply just pulled him closer to him. Neither of them wanted to move from this peace they had together, which was fine with them both. They both knew they weren’t staying up for the tv, as they wouldn’t be able to remember what shows or channels they had watched he night before. They would stay there, happily enjoying each other’s company until they both eventually fell asleep in each other’s arms. In the morning, sometimes they’d complain about a sore neck or back from sleeping in an odd position, but really neither of them complaining actually cared. The time they would get to spend together would always be worth being sore in the morning.
