They buy a house.

Work Text:

Reigen swiped a hand over his sweaty forehead, leaving a bright white swathe of paint across his skin.

Mob covered his grin just as Dimple snickered while Tome laughed loudly, pointing, and Ritsu looked up from where he was hanging curtains with Hanazawa, a smirk writ across his whole face.

“What?” Serizawa chuckled, wiping the streak away gently with a cloth and placing a kiss there.

“Nothing.”

They’d bought a house, nothing extravagant, not with what Reigen paid, but just for them. It needed a lot of work and Reigen found that it went a lot quicker with a family of espers at your disposal.

He stood back, wiped another brush of paint, this time through his hair, and surveyed the scene before him--everybody smiling and happy as they helped him and Serizawa create a home together.

“What's wrong, ‘Taka?” The older man stopped him with a gentle palm before he could rub paint into his eyes and thumbed away the tears himself.

“Oh?” He sniffed, “ha, uh, allergies. Lot of dust in the air from all the work being done.” Serizawa pressed his lips against Reigen’s own, cupping his jaw with a warm hand to pull him closer. Releasing him when he felt tears slip through his fingers to kiss them away.

“Of course, love.”

They went out for ramen, Reigen’s treat, exhausted, covered in dust and streaks of color, the kids boisterous and clamoring after a successful day. They ate well, appetites encouraged by the hard work and Reigen let the conversation wash over him, drifting on its currents with Serizawa’s hand settled on the small of his back or caressing gently, but always touching.

The house had been so full of light and love today and he found it hard to believe he would get to return back to it. It was small, but it was theirs. And there was room enough for their extended family. Things wound down, the bill was paid and as they stood to leave, Reigen hesitated, both excited and nervous as Serizawa’s fingers passed through his bangs and settled against his cheek.

“Let's go home, ‘Taka.” A soft kiss was pressed to his temple and he nodded. Mob looked up at him, small grin fixed in place as it had been all day.

“We’ll visit soon, Shishou.”

Freshly showered, Reigen stretched down to his toes as he laid on his stomach, the comfy futon cradling every sore inch of him. Smiling, he reached for Serizawa as he flopped down beside him with a groan. Despite the quiet darkness of the house he could still hear the laughter echoing in the rafters, feel the energy tingling in the air; this was a home and he got to share it with the most wonderful man he'd ever known. With kids he never imagined would be a part of his life.

Never in a million years would he have seen this coming.

“More allergies?” Reigen hid his face in Serizawa’s neck, wrapping his arms around him tightly.

“You're tense,” he deflected.

“Mm, yeah, not used to so much heavy lifting.” Featherlight, Reigen tracked along his jaw, placing one delicate press where his nose curved into his brow, whispering.

“I’ll see what I can do.” His hands were deft as he ran them along the groups of seized muscles on either side of the esper’s spine, up and across his shoulders, absorbing the quiet sounds of relief and pleasure elicited from his fingertips. Interspersed, he dotted kisses where his palms passed, slow and firm, until Serizawa was slack underneath him.

“‘Taka…” positively drugged under his touch and Reigen sweetly stole the nickname from his very mouth, smiling against those gentle lips at the low groan vibrating in his chest as he released a particularly painful knot, the heat from his hands working away the ache. Finishing with a languid sweep Reigen curled into Serizawa’s strong hold, tucking himself as close as possible.

“Okaeri, Katsuya…” Sleepy, murmured against the warm skin of his throat, his heady pulse, and Serizawa brushed sweet kisses softly over his whole face.

“Tadaima, ‘Taka.”
