Chapter Text

“...oi, mon amour, mon ami, quand je rêve, c’est de toi…”

The music fills the room as a familiar freckled green headed brunette sings along with his angel-like voice with every stroke of the brush on his canvas.

Do not be deceived.

His latest painting has to be the best out of all the others, he considers as he looks at all the other canvases ever so fondly like a mother towards her children.

But of course they were all beautiful, with the main focus being the person in the painting with his spikey ash blonde hair and his fiery red eyes.

They’re all beautiful only because of Kacchan.

Even the name just rolls of your tongue leaving it’s sweet residue. It’s the name of the most beautiful person in the world, the one who shall top all the others and leave them in his dust, the one who will beat all the records and go beyond plus ultra, the one that belongs to Izuku and only Izuku alone:

Bakugou Katsuki.

“...on-n amo-o-o-ur mon a-a-a-mi, j-je ne peux vivre sans toi-i-i…”

The song slowly begins to become static as the footsteps downstairs grow louder and louder. It can only mean one thing: they’re here. And to be more specific: he is.

“Ah, it’s about time he got here but like a magician who shall never reveal his tricks, I must vanish once again.”

Izuku sits up from his stool and sets his tools down as he takes the player and sets it on his stool. He also carefully removes his apron and hangs it aside whilst also opening the curtains and letting in the natural light from outside as some few heroes pass by, unbeknownst to them of what Izuku hides in his small apartment.

“Oh yea! The note!”

Thank heavens he didn’t forget about it, the last he did, it took Kacchan an hour to find it in the last messy apartment.

“I don’t think I’ve forgotten about anything this time…” the footsteps to his door drew louder “Kurogiri”

“Abra-“ the purple portal below his feet grew bigger and bigger until he could fall through and disappear but before he did so fully he finally whispered under his breath “kadabra.”

He was gone. Just vanished without a trace. Just like a magician once again.

When the footsteps finally stopped, the front door slammed opened open with a loud thud as a distant voice shouted something along the lines of “search the house”.

“...our, mon ami, et je ne sais pas pourquoi~”

Almost as if on cue, the moment the hero, Ground Zero entered the room. He’s seen this same exact scene so many times before but he can’t help but shiver at the sight of it. He’ll just never get used to this kind of thing, he’s been a hero for about 4 years now and he’s already about to hit age 21 and he likes the attention and such but this… this, takes it far over the line.

This is only the fourth apartment and they still can’t properly track that Deku’s location. The only thing they can remotely call a clue is the notes that Deku leaves behind is his little notes that just talk about how much he admires him and his most recent battles and achievements and after that, little poems or codes that when deciphered, point to his next location but they’re all found the same way:

Newspaper clippings about him sprawled about on the floor, some kind of device playing music that when the moment he comes in just stops playing and starts playing a recorded voice note-

“Heya, Kacchan~ Hope you like this batch because I worked extra hard on them! I got extra time on them ‘cause I kinda forgot to put the note in the right place...Super sorry about that but of course my smart little Kacchan could find it, couldn’t he? Cheers and love hearts! Signed, your beloved,Deku.”

You can just hear it in his crazed voice the cold sincerity that could send even All Might into shivers.

-the sketches, burnt and broken canvases and crumbled love letters in the trash bin on the side and last but not least the paintings, all the paintings.

They were all over the room: on the walls, on the floor, leaned against each other, hung from the ceiling and the big one that’s always on an easel in the middle of the room. It may not look like much but it’s actually a puzzle piece, if you put it together with the other ones found in the last few houses then it creates a bigger picture. The others may not know what it could be but Ground Zero can take a guess.

“Of course it’s gonna be of fucking me!” He said during one of his meetings after the third house.

They would have ended the investigation a long while ago and ruled it out as another “super fan” if it weren’t for the fact that this “Deku” fellow was a major villain wanted for his hundreds of crimes done since the age 14, the same day that he disappeared. But from what they heard after interrogating some villains that were captured from the Villain League, Deku has retired and continued to pursue his ambition of admiring “his one and only”, Bakugou Katsuki and with all the money gained from his villainy, obsessive gambling and money people owe to him, he’s bound to be rich and capable of full fulfilling his wishes and it made Katsuki sick to the gut.

He’s not just stalking Katsuki, he’s been monitoring everyone that Katsuki ever met and continued to interact with or just anyone that would be considered a possible threat towards Katsuki and Izuku’s “relationship”.

Over on Izuku’s side of the spectrum, right after Kurogiri teleported him back to the villain lair, he landed gracefully on his feet and sat at the stool by the bar chair and ordered a strawberry milkshake.

As Kurogiri slide over the drink, he reminisces the fact that he had the fun privilege of being welcome to the bar and get free drinks anytime all because he was the only one who truly appreciated Kurogiri’s brews.

A blonde girl still adorned with her messy buns but now downed to just a singular bun on the back of her head sat by Izuku wearing her usual toothy smile.

“Izukuuuuuun~! When are you evergoing to paint me like Baku-chan??? I might as well just take a few drops of his blood!”

Izuku gave her a warm smile as he turned his body towards her and patted her head, “Toga-chan, I will always be your bestie but you know I can never return the feelings, now, can I?” He tilted his head and his expression grew dark, glowing red eyes shown through the green curls, “you know it makes me feel like a dirty little cheater and we really wouldn’t want that now do we? Plus, you know exactly what happened when you touch my Kacchan.”

Yeesh, Toga could never get used to those eyes. Especially not after knowing what they’ve seen but she still can’t help but fall in love, even if she has to scoot a bit of an arms legth away from him.
