Ouija Board

Summary:

Mina convinces the rest of the Bakusquad to play a ouija board with her. It goes as well as expected.

Work Text:

“Mina, this is a really bad idea.” Eijirou turned to look at a very excited looking Mina with a ouija board in her arms.

“Aw, c’mon Ei, don’t tell me you’re scared,” she lightly elbowed him in the ribs.

“Mina, you know I am!” Eijirou moved away from Mina and the board she was holding. “Do you know how many stories there are of things going wrong with these boards?! That’s just asking for trouble.”

“Don’t be a dumbass, Eijirou. Those people are all liars just begging for attention.” Katsuki sat down next to Eijirou and laid his arm across his shoulders.

“I don’t know man, some of those stories seem pretty real,” Denki responded from his side of the table.

“Of course you would believe those shitty lies, Pikachu. You are a dumbass.”

“I agree with Katsuki, only less harshly,” Hanta spoke up. “It’s probably not actual ghosts. Either people trying to get a rise out of others or them misunderstanding the situation. And Katsuki, no need to be rude.”

“Whatever, Tape Arms.”

“Anyway, are you guys in? It’s Halloween and we gotta do something spooky!” Mina looked at the four boys surrounding her and gave her biggest puppy dog eyes, mostly aimed at Eijirou.

“I don’t see why not.” Hanta agreed. “It might be fun.”

“I’m not gonna enjoy it, but I goes so.” Denki nodded his agreement.

“It’s all bullshit anyway, but if it’ll shut you up about it then why the fuck not.” Everybody turned to look at Eijirou, the only one who had yet to agree. He looked around at all his friends, looking expectantly at him.

“Hm, fine. But if we die, I’m blaming you Mina.”

“That’s fair. Now, let’s get it started!” Mina placed the board in the middle of the table. The five hero hopefuls sat around the board and placed their hands on the planchette. “Ok, I’ll ask the questions. Are you guys good with that?” The others all nodded their heads. “So, everyone knows the rules, right?” Again, she got nods of approval. “Then, let’s begin.” Mina looked back to the board. “Are there any spirits here in the room with us?” the group looked to the planchette and waited for movement. At first, it didn’t move.

“I knew this was all bullsh-” Katsuki stopped in the middle of his curse when the planchette moved over to the “YES.” Eijirou let out a loud gasp. “Oh calm down, you baby. Someone probably moved the stupid thing.”

“Yeah! Like a ghost!” Eijirou yelled in fear.

“Ei, sweetie, calm down.” Mina calmed her friend and brought everyone’s attention back to the board. “How many spirits are with us?” Again, the planchette remained still. Then the piece moved over to the “3.” This time both Denki and Eijirou looked spooked. They stayed silent, however. “Who is the spirit currently talking to us?” The planchette moved to one letter after another. “K. U. R. A. I. Kurai, your name is Kurai? Nice to meet you!” Mina looked around the room, hoping to let the spirit know she was looking for it. She returned her attention to her friends. Hanta seemed a little paler than before they started, Denki was shaking slightly, Katsuki seemed fine but had a slightly somber face, and Eijirou looked absolutely terrified. He was slowly leaning closer to Katsuki. “Is there anything that you guys want to ask them?”

The group stayed silent for a few beats. Then Hanta spoke up. “Ask it how old it is.”

“Ok, got it. So Kurai, how old are you? A. N. C. I. E. N. T. Ancient, you’re ancient? That’s so cool! Got any other questions?”

“M-maybe ask it if it knows what quirks are?” Denki supplied nervously.

“Kurai, do you know what quirks are?” the planchette moved over to the “YES.” “Oh that’s awesome! Did you have a quirk?” Again the piece moved to yes. “What was your quirk? S. H. A. D. O. W. S. Shadows? Cool! Any other suggestions?”

“I’ve got one. Ask it to fucking move something, I don’t believe any of this bullshit.” Katsuki glared at the board, like it had offended him.

“Alrighty then, Kurai, show us that you are here with us. Give us a physical sign.” As soon as the words left Mina’s mouth, the lamp in the corner of the room was knocked over. All of the kids except Katsuki let out shriek in surprise.

Suddenly, Denki let out a loud scream. “S-something touched me!” Hanta placed his free hand Denki’s shoulder to try and calm his friend.

“That’s it Mina, I’m done! End the connection!” Eijirou yelled frantically at his friend.

“Ok, ok geez! Kurai we want to say goodbye.” The planchette stilled before moving over to the “NO.” “What do you mean no!?” Suddenly the coffee table next to time flipped in the air before hurtling towards them. Eijirou hardened himself and smacked the table away with his free arm.

“Cut the connection yourself, Mina!” Hanta yelled at his friend.

“Ok!” She moved the planchette over to the “GOODBYE.” The five students quickly removed their hands from the planchette. They all breathed a sigh of relief before the ouija board started to float in the air.

“Pinky, the fuck is going on!? I thought you cut the connection?!”

“I-I did! It should be gone!”

“Well clearly it fucking isn’t!” This around started to flicker on and off quickly. The group huddled together in obvious panic. Denki and Eijirou were completely losing it and Mina and Hanta were not far behind. “Fuck this!” Katsuki walked over to the floating board and glared at it. Then he let off a loud explosion right onto the board. It fell to the ground in a pile of ashes. “Let’s get the fuck outta here.” And on that note, the five ran out of the dorm screaming.

“You can come out now Tokoyami,” Hagakure called out to her dark friend. Tokoyami stepped out of the shadows with a grinning Dark Shadow right next to him.

“That was hilarious! Why don’t we do things like this more often, Fumikage?” The shadowy bird asked his master.

“Because it isn’t wise to mess with Bakugou. Speaking of, are you ok Hagakure? He exploded the board right next to you.”

“Yeah, I’m fine! No need to worry! I dropped the board right before he made it explode.” Hagakure slipped on her gloves and held out her hands for Tokoyami and Dark Shadow, indicating a high five. The two compiled and the three shared high fives. “I’m gonna go change out of my hero costume, but after do you guys wanna go get some pizza?”

“Sure, we’ll we wait done here for you,” Tokoyami responded and watched as the floating gloves walked down the hallway.
