The first time Taehyung saw Jimin was at a showcase. Taehyung went to support his brother Namjoon’s boyfriend, Seokjin and his close friend, Jeongguk.
Jimin was a dancer, a beautiful one as that and Taehyung was enraptured when he began to move.
He remembered asking Jeongguk who that dancer with grey hair was, to which Jeongguk teased him relentlessly for(that little shit) but ended up telling him that his name was Jimin and he was in his dance class.
So Taehyung did the most sensible thing, he started dropping by at the academy (to Jeongguk’s great displeasure).
If Jimin was weirded out by the boy with anime like features who stared at him, he didn’t show it, and Taehyung was grateful.
They met by coincidence one evening when Taehyung went out to get some groceries. He was having an internal battle with himself on which ice-cream flavor to get when he heard an angelic voice
“Wow, what did ice-cream ever do to you?”
“They’re too damn complicated, like why do they have to be so many flavors. I’m a broke college student for crying out loud” he complained without even looking at the source of the voice.
The owner of the voice giggled and Taehyung was floored because, what the hell? Whose laugh is that pretty and imagine his surprise when he saw Jimin standing beside him with the prettiest smile on his face, his eyes even turned into crescents for crying out loud!
“O-oh Jimin” He stuttered, internally cursing himself because he and Jimin had never spoken before so how did he know his name.
Luckily, Jimin didn’t seem to notice
“Hey, Taehyung right? You always come to visit Jeongguk in dance?” He said, his cheeks turning a pretty shade of pink.
“Ha-ha, yup that’s me” He was not letting this conversation end this quickly “You know, I think Jeongguk has a little crush on that girl, uh, Natasha, I think was her name”
“You noticed it too! It’s cute honestly, how he blushes when she smiles at him and is always eager to be her dance partner”
“Ah, these kids grow up so fast” he said sounding like an 80 year old man who had seen everything. Jimin just laughed, throwing is entire body into it, Taehyung? Taehyung was a whipped man already and promised to always make Jimin laugh.
They exchanged numbers before leaving with promises to text each other.
Taehyung stared at his phone, wondering if it was the right time to text Jimin. As he unlocked his phone, he got a notification
Jiminie
Hey, it’s Jimin
He smiled.
Me
Hi Minnie
Oh is it okay if I call you that?
Jiminie
That’s fine!
Only if I get to call you TaeTae
Me
Yes, I like it. It’s cute
And they ended up talking about anything and everything.
They hit it off very easily and it was kind of unreal with the way everything fell into place.

A couple of months passed and their friendship never once waned, in fact, it grew stronger and even blossomed into something else.
“Ah Jungkookie, Jiminie is so pretty but like he’s also very hot, like damn” He said one night when it was just him and Jeongguk on one of their gaming sessions.
“Yo, what the fuck dude. I didn’t need to know this” he said sounding disgusted, Taehyung thinks he heard something along the lines of ‘I’ve had enough of this from Jimin, I don’t want this from you too’ and also ‘they even have cute nicknames for each other, disgusting’ but he’s not sure and he doesn’t feel like asking because he doesn’t think Jeongguk wanted him to hear.

It was at 4am when Taehyung got a message from Jimin.
Jiminie
Tae, can we meet?
I’ve got something to tell you
Me
Sure Minnie, where do you want to meet?
Jiminie
At our playground?
Me
Okay, sure
See you in 10
If you had asked Taehyung what was running through his mind during that time, he would have told you he was scared, maybe Jimin had gotten tired of him, or worse, he had found out about Taehyung’s crush on him and was about to let him down easy.
But now, Taehyung was numb from fear and he only hoped that Jimin hadn’t found out.
He moved on autopilot to the designated spot and immediately saw Jimin on the swings, he was wearing yellow sweater and wrapped himself with a scarf, Taehyung’s heart jumped at the sight.
“Minnie”
“Taehyungie…” He had an unreadable expression on his face and Taehyung’s heart dropped.
Maybe he did find out, but he called me Taehyungie...
“I’m here” He said uselessly. Jimin just smiled and perhaps he heard the word cute but this was not the time to ask Jimin to repeat what he said, so he let it go.
Jimin audibly sighed and stepped forward looking Taehyung in the eyes.
“Taehyung, I like you. I like you so much that I don’t even know what to do with myself sometimes. Gukkie told me to man up and confess to you because anything could happen. So yeah, I agreed with him because life is way too short for me to keep this from you. So, um, if you don’t like me back that’s fine, we could go back to being friends, even though it would be awkward at first but we’ll make it work, we always do. Tae? Why are you not saying anything? Damnit, stupid Jeongguk and his stupid idea, just because it worked out for him doesn’t mean it’ll work for everyone, just forget what I said, I’m so—”
Taehyung cut off his ramblings with a sob.
And Jimin’s eyes widened considerably
“Tae? Oh my God, why are you crying? I KNEW this was a bad ide—”
“I like you too"
“I—what?”
“I like you too Minnie”
“Are you serious, like you don’t have to say this because I look miserable. I will get over it rea—”
He cut him off by pressing his lips against his, and wow it was softer than he expected.
“I like you, Minnie”
They just stood there smiling at each other while snow fell around them
“So, Taehyungie…Would you like to be my boyfriend?
“Yes, Minnie. A thousand times yes”

Everything was smooth from there on out, when they finally told their friends, they were happy for them, though not surprised.
Hoseok, a new addition to their friend group, was confused and asked “Weren’t you two already dating?” to which they all laughed
“No babe, they were oblivious to the heart eyes they were sending each other” Yoongi, Namjoon’s best friend told him.
Jeongguk just sighed and said “Fucking finally, I was about to smash my head in”
“Oh please Guk, like you weren’t a mess when it came to Natasha” Seokjin said, while idly scrolling through his phone, to which Jeongguk spluttered.
“Congrats guys, I’m happy for you” Namjoon smiled, dimples on full display.
“Thank you” They said in sync.

And of course they had their ups and downs in their relationship. They fought, word were said out of spite, but by the end of the day they would go back to each other and apologize, because that’s how things were with them.

Taehyung was ready to propose, he really was, he had spent 3 years dating Jimin and he couldn’t be happier. He’s still as whipped as he was before. So yes, he was ready, his ring was in his bag, and he had the perfect way to propose, his friends and brother were all in on it too.
Jeongguk and Hoseok were going to keep Jimin occupied for a 2hours, while they got everything set up at the playground (their playground). Nothing was going to mess this up, nothing at all.

Jeongguk and Hoseok came in with a smiling Jimin, who took everything and everyone in and was surprised
“Tae? What’s going on, what’s all this?” Jimin asked, confusion in those pretty eyes
Taehyung took a deep breath “Minnie, we’ve been friends for 5years and we’ve dated for 3, and anytime I look at you my heart always skips a beat, whenever you laugh I feel warm inside, anytime I wake up beside you, I always watch you, sounds creepy, I know but that’s just how gone I am for you, you’re always on my mind. I want to grow old with you Minnie”
Taehyung kneels down, Jimin gasps “I want to grow old with you, I want to make more memories with you, I want to walk beside you forever, in this lifetime and in others. I love you Park Jimin, marry me?”
“Yes Tae, yes I will marry you oh God. I love you so much” Jimin sobs as Taehyung puts the ring on.
“And I, you Minnie” Taehyung hugs him and kisses his head with tears in his own eyes, “And I, you”

“You all knew about it huh”
“YAS, how was my acting? No need to answer that, I know it was A+” Jeongguk said sniggering.
They just rolled their eyes at him, Natasha flicking his forehead
“Ow, it really be your own girlfriend huh”

Their wedding was splendid, lots of excitement, nervousness, laughter and tears.
Taehyung remembers being rendered speechless when he saw Jimin, he was shining and looking absolutely gorgeous, he remembers Jimin telling him he looked dashing. He even remembers their friends sharing embarrassing stories about them.
He remembered the dance. He remembers the kiss. Everything, he remembers everything.
…
He and Jimin lived a wonderful and happy life together, loads of kisses, laughter and even tears when their jobs were too stressful.
He remembers almost burning the house down while trying to cook, Jimin ran out from the bedroom, hair a mess and came face to face with a burning stove and Taehyung trying to put the fire out. Once Jimin put the fire out, he looked at Taehyung with a deadpan face.
“What were you trying to do?”
“I wanted to make you breakfast” Taehyung said with a pout.
Jimin just sighed fondly and kissed Taehyung. They ended up just having cereal that morning. Jimin never let him forget about it.
They spent winter nights cuddled together, dancing around the house, giggling at each other and kept on loving each other.
He remembers them adopting their child, Taemin. They were elated and made sure to be the best parents.
…
Now they’re both 95, with grey hair and laugh lines. Jimin is beside him on the bed, reading a book while Taehyung stares at him.
If you ask any of them if they were happy.
They would say yes with 100% certainty.
They wouldn’t trade it for the world.
“Minnie?”
“Yes Tae”
Taehyung holds his hands “Let’s meet each other in another lifetime, my love. I love you”
Jimin smiles at its still the prettiest thing Taehyung has ever seen “We are soulmates of course, we would always find each other. I love you too, sweetheart” He kisses Taehyung “And I will continue to love you”
They fall asleep holding hands.
…
“Dads? Wake up” Their son, Taemin says.
They never respond.
They passed on at 4am.
