Uraraka had seen and heard a lot of things along her training and career as a pro hero. Clothes getting ripped apart in more than one inconvenient spot; dealing with the effects of crazy quirks that made you speak only the truth, be turned into an animal or even become the opposite sex, yeah the usual stuff.
Another thing on the list was her classmates’ more than unique ways of proposing, either after dealing with the kidnapping of several people including their boyfriend or after a building almost fell down on them. Yeah this guys seemed to need near death experiences to pull the ring out.
She especially remembered the worst moments in which a comment too out of place, mostly by enthusiastic fans or nosy reporters, made her want to float out of there. She would never forget the time a girl had asked Froppy to marry her. Come on, she was right there and that was her girlfriend, how would she forget?
Today didn't seemed one of those days. The villains were successfully captured after their leader was sent flying against an abandoned building and promptly knocked out. But that also brought down most of said building so now it was time for damage control. Of all places they could have run off to, they chose a construction site. While she juggled bent metal beams and ridiculously big slabs of concrete sidekicks were being checked by the paramedics, the police in the meantime were trying hard to keep busy the curious onlookers and the media out of the area.
Uraraka gave a small wave to Shouto, sorry Freezer-burn, who waved back while he waited for his husband to finish his own check up. The chestnut-haired woman held back a chuckle as the freckled man furiously tapped on his phone while a young doctor looked him over, flashing a quick smile with every answer he gave. She felt bad for the poor guy, trying to remain all calm and professional in front of “Hero Deku”, that was totally oblivious of the effect he had on people.
Suddenly, her friend's face shifted into something between surprise and...a great need to cry? (It was hard to tell.) All Uraraka knew was that something on the hero's phone had caused him to throw it to the ground, (special phone case of course, thank you Mei ), and hold his hands against his lips in a silent prayer. The doctor was freaking out too now. Great.
Setting aside the last pieces of debris aside Uraraka headed towards the ambulance, shaking off the dust. “What just happened?” She asked in confusion for her friend was still in...whatever the state he was in was called (shock, confusion, illumination?). Shouto just shrugged as he dusted off the poor device and placed it beside it's owner.
“Izuku?” He called shaking his husband softly which seemed to finally snap him out of that odd state of stupor. “Is something wrong? ”
“W-What? Oh! No, no not at all why would you say that everything is totally fine, I’m fine, so are you, everything is just fine .” Replied Izuku scratching his neck with a slight tint of color coming to his cheeks. Shouto just looked at him in disbelief, rising an eyebrow. The green haired man worried his lip and tried to avoid his husband's gaze, covering it up with sheepish chuckles. He didn't last long like that.
“Just…something my mom sent me that’s all.” He mumbled taking the phone and unlocking the screen, shoving the phone into Shouto's hands. Uraraka frowned at her friend’s reaction, peering over Shouto’s shoulder, damned height difference, at the phone's gallery.
...
…
…
“I can see the resemblance.” was all that Shouto said, making no attempt to hide the smile tugging at his lips.
“Shoutooo.” groaned Izuku leaning against his husband's shoulder, making weak attempts to take back the phone.
Uraraka had to hold back a giggle, now she understood why Izuku had gone through such mental combustion moments ago. Several pictures of his three-year old twins wearing class 3-A’s hero merch flooded the screen. She couldn't hold back a quite uncharacteristic squeal as the next picture was of the young child wearing a Uravity onesie, looking at his reflection in the mirror. The boy’s messy mint green curls were sticking out awkwardly beneath the oversized hoodie, along with a wide freckled smile.
“I love Haruki so much.” she cooed. The little one had appointed himself as Uravity’s number one fan as soon as he could, though at first he had problems saying Uravity correctly.
Shouto chucked softly as he went through the different pictures, hanging on long enough at one of the children wearing their own hero merch. A girl with red and white hair wearing a green and black cap way too big for her head while her twin beamed at the camera in symmetrical red and white shirt. The man's mismatched eyes shone with affection at every photo.
Next came up a short video though the first seconds were just of Haruki snoozing in front of the tv. From the corner a head of candy cane hair poked out and approached the oblivious boy. Sayuri climbed up the side of the sofa, holding a pillow tightly against her chest as she approached her brother.
“Oh god.” chuckled Midoriya seeing the bright orange and black of the little girl’s shirt as she held up the pillow over her brother, ready to strike.
“ Die!” She cried hitting Haruki from behind, who snapped out of his daze and pushed her out of the camera’s range. Before the video got cut off Inko could be heard in the background pleading whoever was behind the camera to stop filming, along with a laugh from a third person.
“Should I be worried?” murmured the odd eyed man nevertheless smiling softly. Most people assumed the Sayuri would resemble Shouto the most, having already the bi-colored hair and mismatched eyes but he would insist she had more of Izuku, including being an utter fan girl that could easily cry during the news.
“Nah she’s fine.” chuckled Uraraka shuffling through the pictures on her own as Shouto chided his husband for believing for a second that leaving the twins with Bakugou had been a good idea.
“In my defense Kirishima was the one supposed to be taking care of them.”
“Yes, but do remember who Kirishima is married to.”
“ Deku is this really you? ” She suddenly cried startling the pair as the brunette shoved the screen under their noses. Shouto just glanced back and forth from the phone to his husband, who was currently groaning once more something about betrayal. Well what were the odds of the two kids wearing the same All Might pajamas their father once wore as well as the existence of pictures to prove it.
“No wonder they’re such dorks you were just like at their age!” she gushed at her friend, quickly sending herself all the photos, perfect blackmail material. “I need this framed on my wall.”
“Make that two frames.” teased Shouto leaning against Izuku. “ I need a new one for my office.”
“Please stop.“ begged the freckled hero from behind his gauntlets. " How did they even find those things? ”
A sudden crash and a pair of sobs made Inko drop the kettle, thank god it was empty, she had been holding and rush to the room were the sound came from. On the floor she found her two grandchildren sobbing like it was the end of the world surrounded by boxes and their spilled contents.
“I’m sorry,” sniffled her granddaughter, pressing her head against Inko’s chest once she had calmed down. Turns out the pair had gone exploring and gone into Izuku’s room. There they had found many boxes of different sizes stacked inside a closet, at the very top one labeled “toys”.
Inko wasn’t sure how they even managed to reach the top, but somehow they had managed and in the process brought down the whole closet. Now she had two teary grandkids clinging to All Might actions figures, many notebooks scattered on the ground along with plain white t-shirts and three golden engraved year books.
“Its alright sweetheart, the good thing is that neither of you got hurt.” She murmured carding her hair through her unruly hair. “Why don’t you and your brother go play in the living room while I clean this up?”
“W-We can help clean gamma!!” Piped Haruki pulling on her cardigan with one hand, the other secured on a bunch of notebooks. The little one refused to say grandma since gamma was the way he had said it the first time, nobody could change his mind.
Inko chuckled softly and nodded in reply. “I can tell you two about your dad when he was just your age while we’re at it. I bet there are some albums around here when he was just about your age.”
Both children cheered loudly, they sure loved hearing about their parents. She hadn’t expected to find Izuku’s baby clothes to be in that mess or that both children had the urge to try them on. Lunch was quickly forgotten as Inko was pulled to the nearest store to look for kid sized hero merchandise, having previously called in reinforcements.
