Chapter Text
Dr. Ortega,
I’ve read over your research proposal and cannot, in good conscience, allow you to continue down this path. While it’s true that there’s much we don’t know about Stands, your experiments outlined within it not only violate the code of scientific ethics, but also represent a significant risk to the general public. Furthermore, we still have no idea what sort of effects this particular meteorite has on people, and you were the first person into the crater, needlessly exposing yourself to the virus. I've spoken with the higher-ups and they've suggested placing you on a temporary leave of absence with mandatory psychological examination. While I disagree with the former, I believe that the latter would be beneficial. Ever since your recovery, I've been concerned with your recent changes in behavior; you’ve been obsessed with the meteorite, neglecting your own well-being in the process. Not to mention the various complaints I've received from the rest of the team.
Please Daphne, get some rest and get help. If not for your own sake, then to grant me peace of mind
Sincerely,
Dr. Nora Jiu
P.S. I'd also like you to undergo a psychological exam, to determine if your exposure to the meteor affected your mental health.
Dr. Nora Jiu leaned back in her chair and ran a hand through her dark green hair. Daphne had been her best friend since college, and they'd dreamed of studying the meteorite ever since they were hired by the Speedwagon Foundation. She didn't want to do this, and as much as she wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt; her actions at the crater could have put the entire expedition in jeopardy. And ever since her recovery, she'd been more aggressive and paranoid, lashing out at others over perceived slights. As much as she wanted to chalk it all up to stress, there was the matter of her proposal-
Nora took a deep breath and sighed before before clicking 'send' on the email.
Maybe she'd ask someone to keep an eye on her, just in case.
