Bedtime Stories (Toshinori x Reader)

People say that the myths and legends of old are what inspired the superhero stories of today.

Well that would be the case if superheroes didn’t exist but they did, protecting and helping those in need. This elite group create their own tales on a daily basis with their heroic deeds of either defeating a villain or saving civilians in despair! And the hero with the most stories of heroism is the number one hero, All Might! His accomplishments and feats could fill a library but for now, they were filling the head of the small child who laid in bed, curled up in their All Might brand sheets as Toshinori had just finishing telling them one of his tales, just one of many he had told them since they were born.

This was one of the things Toshinori was looking forward to since you told him he was gonna be a father. With his hero work, teaching at UA, and training his successor, the man never thought he’d have the chance to be a father or even be in a relationship but somehow he’s been able to do the impossible; falling in love with you and bringing (k/n) into the world. The man couldn’t be happier, now retired from hero work and able to spend more time with his budding family. He couldn’t help but beam from ear to ear as he sat on the edge of the small bed, his body too tall to fit comfortably but he’d be damned if he didn’t try, wanting to be the best father he could be!

“Just one more story, please?” (K/n) asked as they looking up at him, the last story their father told pumping them up too much to fall asleep now.

“Alright, Alright, just one more,” Toshinori chuckled, not able to deny his kid as he spoiled them plenty.

“Thank you,” (K/n) smiled back, their grin very similar to his own.

“So there I was, face to face with Toxic Chainsaw,” Toshinori began, recalling the memory but keeping it at a PG for their sake, not wanting to give them nightmares and scare them away from becoming a hero, “We’d been fighting for a while, both of us starting to get tired and worn from the fight.”

“But you wouldn’t give up!” (K/n) beamed, their (e/c) eyes sparking with determination.

“I wouldn’t, would I?” Toshinori got just as pumped up, tussling their blond hair as he continued on, “And I didn’t because of what I did to win the fight!”

“And what did you do?”

The question came as a shock as it didn’t come from (k/n), it came from you, listening to Toshinori tells his stories to your wide eyed child, just as amused and entertained as they were. You had just gotten back from your patrol, being a minor hero but won a major hero’s heart, a feat you still don’t know how you managed. The pair of you had dated then married in secret, your child soon coming after that and it wasn’t until Toshinori’s fight with All for One that the world knew All Might was married or had a kid but to be honest, it was better that the seal was broken now, no longer needing to keep your relationship a secret. Yet with that information out in the open, you couldn’t deny the call of those in need, continuing your hero duty alongside being a wife and mother. Sure, it was all stressful but you wouldn’t have it any other way, especially for moments like these.

“(Y-Y/n), I- I didn’t think you’d be listening,” Toshinori stuttered, turning a little red as you walked in and sat beside him.

“I like listening to your stories,” you cooed, rubbing his back as you tried to ease his flustered state, “Almost as much as (k/n) does.”

You snuck a wink to (k/n), your child nodding as they was eager to hear the epic conclusion. “Tell us what you did!”

“Very well,” Toshinori nodded, clearing his voice before continuing on, “With the last of my energy, I drew my fist back and punched him right in the gut!”

“TEXAS SMASH!” (K/n) smirked as they popped out of their bed, punching the air with as much enthusiasm as they could. (K/n) was basically a mini All Might (though the Silver Age onesie they were wearing didn’t help).

“Yes, it was a Texas Smash!” Toshinori smiled, just so proud of (k/n) as he got them tucked back into bed.

“And you saved the day!” You tacked on, equally proud of both your husband and child as placed a hand over Toshinori’s, rubbing his bony knuckles tenderly.

“I guess I did,” Toshinori hummed, giving you a nice, genuine smirk before turning back to the tot in bed, “And now you gotta go to bed.”

“Aww,” (K/n) pouted but agreed, all bundled up and ready to dream of heroes, villains, and all the adventures they could have when they become a hero like their mom and dad, “Night, mom, night, dad.”

“Sleep tight, (k/n),” you leaned over and kissed one cheek, Toshinori doing the same with the other cheek which made (k/n) giggle, playfully batting you away and closing their eyes, exiting the room and shutting off the lights, Toshinori cooed one last phrase to his kid for the day. “Good night, kid, and sweet dreams.”

Toshinori followed you to your bedroom, stretching himself out after being hunched over for so long on a kid sized bed. “I’m gonna start running out of stories at this rate,” he hummed, his bones cracking as he began to relax.

“Nonsense,” you shook your head, starting to peel off your hero outfit, “You’re still fully of stories.”

“What else could I tell?” He mused, sighing as he knew he’d run out due him no longer doing hero work. (K/n) might not even look up to him anymore when they realize he’s a formal shadow of himself, only full of tales from a time long passed.

“Well, you could tell (k/n) about how we met,” you cup his face, turning it around so your (e/c) orbs met his blues ones, “It’s my favorite story.”

The doubt he had in himself started to wash away as his expression soften, enveloping his hands over yours. “Then I’ll start that story tomorrow night.”

“Well I’m gonna add another chapter tonight,” you purred, leaning forward slightly to nip his lips gently, one hand slipping out of his and down his chest softly.

Toshinori started to cough now, beet red as he knew you what you were suggesting, especially with you in your underwear right now. “In-n the uncenso-ored version, rig-ght?”

“Of course,” you winked, always loving how badly you could flustered your skeleton of a husband as you whispered in his ear before the fun really began, “And don’t leave out any of the details, okay?”
