"You know it was getting quite boring here waiting for you. Oh and you brought a little friend. Can't say I've had the pleasure of being aquatinted. But then again, it's never a pleasure with you around, Spidey."
"Goblin!"
"Oh and he bites too!"
Jungkook and Jimin had been lounging around their apartment, waiting for Taehyung to show up when they had turned on the tv to the news channel. To say that Jimin had practically burned with rage (quite literally) and almost set their house on fire would be an understatement because there, right on tv was none other than the Green Goblin, and sitting on a chair right next to him, perched precariously on the edge of a wide open ceiling-to-floor window was Taehyung, tied up and teary-eyed and so horribly terrified for his life.
"Spidey~ I think this belongs to you." The Green Goblin had only smiled manically as he tilted Taehyung chair forward slightly, and reveled in the horrified screams coming from Taehyung. "Come and get him won't you. He's over stayed his visit."
Jungkook hadn't even bothered with putting on his mask, let alone his entire costume, as he sprinted out of the apartment complex and shot his webbings at the nearest lamppost, swinging through the city with Jimin flying close behind him.
Upon arrival, a spark of confusion passed through the Goblin's eyes before he smiled sinisterly as recognition settled in. It was none other than Spider-Man after all, standing in front of him, vulnerable, powerless and completely exposed.
"Never knew you'd be hiding a face like that underneath your mask." The Goblin laughed as he made his way to where Jungkook and Jimin were standing. "Aren't you gonna introduce me to your little friend?"
The Goblin had so much as gotten closer to Jimin before Jimin had shot a fire ball at him, before charging at him at full speed, effectively knocking him down and pinning him to the floor.
"I don't care who the fuck you are, or what that fuck you called us here for, but if I find out that you've hurt even a single hair on Taehyung's head, you'll be nothing more than a pile of your own burnt ashes, lame-ass costume and all." Jimin said through all but gritted teeth as he clenched the Goblin's tacky metallic collar in his steaming fists, eyes ablaze as he pulls back one hand to land a punch to the Goblin's jaw.
Before Jimin could land another punch, the Goblin pulled his knees to his chest and pushed Jimin off of him with a harsh kick to his stomach, sending Jimin flying back and in an angry coughing fit. "You pack a hard punch for someone your size." The Goblin cradles his jaw in his palm.
While Jimin was ready to pounce again and pin the Goblin down, Jungkook rushes to the open window and sees Taehyung in his chair, the rope rough against the sensitive skin of his wrist as he tries to pull his restraints apart, only for his shoulders to sag in defeat.
"Taehyung!" Taehyung's head snaps up at the sound of Jungkook voice, his eyes impossibly wide and shining with unshed tears. He starts to struggle once again and screams for Jungkook to help him as he tries to lean away from the open window. "I've got you baby. I've got you."
As Jungkook was pulling at Taehyung’s restraints, he hears a pained scream from behind him and finds Jimin on the floor, with his arm twisted back rather unnaturally. His eyes only widen before his head snaps toward the Goblin as he lunges for Jungkook, throwing him off and away from Taehyung. And Jungkook barely has time to struggle before he feels a knife slice at his wrists, right were his webbing pores are located, and he hears a sickening ripping sound and his own agonized and pained screams before his vision goes black.
"Wake up you fucker." Jungkook's just about come to when he feels a harsh slap on his cheek. His eyes shoot open, unfamiliar with his surroundings as his head snaps right and left. Jimin was sitting right next to him, teeth gritted and eyes red and wet with tears. But there's no sign of Taehyung.
"Oh don't worry, he's alive. Just, hanging around." And just like the punch line of a sick joke, Taehyung is being lowered down by a rope from a hole in the ceiling, his arms tied to his sides as he dangled ominously over a hole that goes through quite literally all the floors of the building right down to the ground.
"I have what I want, Jungkook, but it's just not fun to end things here. There has to be a fight to the death. That's kinda more my style you know." The Goblin grins mercilessly as circles around Jungkook and Jimin, as a predator would his prey.
"Fuck you!" Jungkook all but spits out, and he hears the Goblin tutting before he pulls out a remote. He presses down on a big red button, and the rope loosens, and Taehyung lets out a surprised gasp as he drops a couple of feet before it halts, the rope swinging back and forth with the sudden movement.
"You see, this is what happens when you don't listen. There really is no point for me to be stalling, but I'm nothing if not someone who enjoys suspense."
"What do you want?"
"I have what I need," he lifts up a small ziplock, and to Jungkook's horror, he sees his own webbing pores, bloodied and still attached to scraps of his own mangled skin, and he suddenly feels like throwing up. "What harm can you do to me? You're completely powerless without these!" The Goblin sneers before he averts his gaze to Taehyung, silently sobbing and trembling in his restraints. "Good riddance."
And before Jungkook can even figure out what he means by that, the Goblin is pressing the damn red button on his remote and he only has the chance to glance in Taehyung's direction before the rope's been let loose and Taehyung's gasping as he falls through the air, right down the gaping hole beneath.
Jungkook's heart seizes and he hears Jimin's horrified screams after Taehyung before he's diving right after him, completely disregarding the fact that he was completely helpless and powerless at the moment. He can leave Jimin to deal with the Goblin anyway. (Not like Jimin can even catch Taehyung while he’s a blazing ball of fire.)
He reaches after Taehyung and circles an arm around his waist as he quickly tries to grab onto something, anything. He feels a rope brush against his arm before he's frantically reaching out to grasp it, his fingers curling around the rough material. They're jerked to a stop, Taehyung letting out a startled yelp as he winds his arms tightly around Jungkook's middle.
"Hang on Tae, it's gonna be okay." His hand is starting to burn from the rope as he tries to access his surroundings. "Taehyung, I need you to try to climb up my chest and grab the rope okay?"
"What?" Just as Taehyung exclaims, the rope shifts, the strands beginning to give away under their combined weight.
"Taehyung I need you to do this. I'm gonna try to grab onto the ledge over there, okay? It's not that far I promise you I'll be okay, but before I do that I'm gonna need you to grab onto the rope okay." His voice takes a stern tone, and Taehyung knows better not to talk back. Jungkook hears Taehyung sniffling before he feels him nodding against his chest.
"Okay. Okay." Taehyung hooks an arms around Jungkook's shoulder as he tries to pull himself up, reaching out for the rope and grasping it tightly. "Now what?"
"We're gonna swing back and forth to try to get me closer to the ledge okay?" Taehyung nods wordlessly, although the fear seeps right through his eyes, if not by the slight trembling of his lips.
Taehyung barely starts swinging before he feels Jungkook letting go of the rope and leaping for the edge, his hands barely making contact with the cold concrete before he's pulling himself up and flat on the floor.
Taehyung's heart expands with relief, but it's only short lived as he feels the rope snapping, a gasp ripping through his throat. He's calling out to Jungkook, and Jungkook just barely manages to grip his hand as he lunges forward to catch him. "Jungkook!"
"It's alright! Just stay calm, I've got you! I won't let go I've got you." Jungkook struggles to pull him up as he feels a searing pain in his wrist, right wehere his webbings used to be.
He just barely manages to pull Taehyung up before he's collapsing onto his chest, sobbing into the fabric of Jungkook shirt. "It's alright baby, I've got you." He circles one arm around Taehyung's waist as the other hand goes up to cradle his head. He tries to sit them up, and pulls Taehyung into his lap.
"What about Jimin? Where's Jimin?" Taehyung looks at him with frantic eyes, red and tired from having cried for so long. "Is he okay?"
"When is he not okay." He says more to calm him down, but he knows it's not far from the truth. "He's probably done beating the shit out of Goblin."
And as if on cue, Jimin comes flying from the floors above them and collapses right next to them into a mess of steaming skin, eyes glowing red with untamed flames. "God, you're both okay." He barely manages a smile before he's closing his eyes, his pants loud in the otherwise silent area.
And Jungkook can only hold Taehyung closer to his chest as he plants endless kisses to his forehead, his temples and his nose, and finally a desperate kiss to his trembling lips, wet with tears. "I thought I was gonna lose you."
"I'm sorry, Jungkook."
"No, no baby, don't be. It's alright. It's okay. We're okay."
We're okay.
