Enemies to Frenemies

Summary:

Yoongi and Jimin hate each other, that's all there is to it.

Chapter Text

Jimin and Yoongi can’t stand being with each other, it’s exhausting! Seriously it is! Everyday Jimin has to look at Yoongi laugh obnoxiously with his friends, he has to physically stop from gagging or get Taehyung to distract him for the rest of the day.

And it’s not like Yoongi doesn’t have it hard either, he’s stuck listening to Jimin sing during clubs. His voice sounds like two wet balloons rubbing against each other, Yoongi hates it.

Bottom line is they hate each other and nothing can change that. Ever.

Park Jimin loves his new high school, during winter break of his 2nd year, his parents moved to another school district, which means another handful of people to love him. He doesn’t mind the attention at all, it’s relieving that he’s not the only one who sees his own beauty. His parents are beautiful and so is he, it’s only fair the rest of the world knows about it too. After a tearful goodbye from all his friends, Jimin looks forward to this different change of pace. With his good looks and charms, Jimin’s determined to be the center of attention for his last year at his new high school.

[Day before school begins]

It was a good idea for Jimin to speak to Taehyung before school began, they’ve been friends for the longest and it was absolute luck Taehyung transferred to the same school as Jimin, he knows more about this district and follows most of the school on social media. With his best friend, Jimin isn’t totally blindsided, it’s good to know what his audience is like.

“Wuahh, thanks for taking me out Jiminnie, I’ve been so bored at home.” He says while sipping the last of his tea. Jimin just finished up looking at Taehyung’s follower list. Most of everyone at this new school seem to be just as concerned about their looks as Jimin is. Only a few stood out which obviously means Jimin will have to be nice to them to stand out as well.

“How come? I thought you liked your house?” He asked while giving his friend’s phone back.

“I do! It’s just -- my dad is always away and my mom keeps babying my little brother a lot, it’s nice but I needed to get away today.” Taehyung shrugs while putting away cell.

“What about you? How’s your new house?” Taehyung asked with a bit of perkiness to it. He’s teasing Jimin since it’s the first house he doesn’t have to share a room with anyone. His dad recently became the new CEO of an oil rig company which made their family wealthier than Jimin expected. Of course Jimin won’t let it get to his head, he’ll always have love with his hometown and everyone in it.

“It’s fun! I never knew you could have a kitchen that big. You should visit one day Tae!” Jimin smiles warmly at the thought. His room is twice as big which makes it a little empty, but that’s only because Jimin hasn’t gotten around to decorating it. His best friend claps gleefully at the idea.

“Yes! House tour~!” Jimin laughs at him while swatting his hand. He’s never brought Taehyung home but that doesn’t stop his friend from asking each time houses are brought up. He understands the gesture of Taehyung wanting to get close, but Jimin never appreciated his childhood home. Jimin was embarrassed and afraid Taehyung would ridicule him for it. It’s different now though! Finally Jimin doesn’t have an excuse as to why Taehyung can’t come over.

“No no! Nothing like that! I’ll just take you to my room!” The two joke all day until Jimin decided it was time to leave. He told Taehyung to text him as soon as he got home and he’ll do the same.

As he walked, Jimin thought about school. He’s already got his uniform pressed and hanging on his closet door. He’s bought new school supplies and even a new red backpack. He’s more than prepared for school, but Jimin can’t hide the heavy sensation in his stomach.

What if people don’t like him? All Jimin wants is to just be liked. Maybe his obsession of wanting to be liked went a little too far as to stalk his best friend’s following list, but Jimin just likes to be prepared. That and he hates being rejected. Ah, rejection...the mere thought makes Jimin bite the inside of his mouth.

Don’t worry, it’s a new school. New opportunity to make friends, and a new life.
