Toga is, for all intents and purposes, rather over the moon.
She finally figured out her feelings towards Tsuyu! She loved her! She really, truly, wholeheartedly did! All it took was some deep self reflection and a little bit of torture.
(She was still shivering as she remembered Hana's screams)
Of course, there came the one part Toga had been dreading about all of this. What was she supposed to do now? So she loved Tsuyu, awesome, but that hardly meant anything is she couldn't find an appropriate course of action. Love is the next level of a relationship, so shouldn't she make that clear?
Speak of a gorgeous angel, Toga's phone let out a buzz. Flipping it over, she saw she had a message from her love.
Hey I'm going shopping for groceries in about 20 mins. Wanna come?
Oh! The whole situation was just so damn...domestic! Of course she wanted to go, and she intended to inform Tsuyu of this much. Quickly, she texted her on conformation and got ready to go. However, like always, something (or in this case someone) just had to interrupt.
"Basket case," Dabi greeted, leaning against the wall, "Where you heading off to?"
She adored him, but right now? He needed to apologize before she would treat him with a smile, "Don't be that way. You know where I'm going."
Dabi looked slightly upset for a quick moment, before snickering, "Fine! You have fun. I can't wait to see how badly this turns out..."
Toga pushed past him before he could finish. Dabi sounded so bitter. Well, he always sounded bitter, but right now, he sounded near malicious. She would prove him wrong.
This would end just fine.
To Toga's utter and complete delight, her one and only was already by the market, hair in a bun. She. loved. That. Bun!
"You look so cute!" she near purred, hugging her from behind, "You have to let me braid your hair sometime! Oh, and hi...by the way."
Tsuyu groaned, but she was smiling all the same, "What did I say about sneaking up on me? Hello to you too, ribbit."
"Wah! But you're so cute when you're surprised!"
"Yeah, yeah. Come on, I have shopping to do."
Toga melted into Tsuyu's touch as she grabbed her hand. That was pure ecstasy. It felt as good as stabbing someone in the brain.
(Almost.)
"Ah, good they have watermelon," Tsuyu examined the produce, "My mom wanted me to buy fruit, but she wasn't very specific."
That grabbed Toga's attention. She didn't really know much of her girlfriend's private life, "What's your family like."
"Oh them?" Tsuyu was fighting a smile, "They're amazing, ribbit. Oh, they have apple cider."
Toga fully understood Tsuyu's distraction, (she loved apple cider too) but right now, she wanted to know about something else, "Oh...cool. So about you family..."
"I have two younger siblings, Satsuki my sister, and my brother Samidare. I love them."
"I see" the blonde hummed, "I'm sure Tsu is an amazing big sister!"
"Well...I do my best."
"Tsu's best is perfection!"
"We're in a public space," Tsuyu chided, but she was smiling all the while.
"The public needs to know how much I love Tsu!" Toga defends cheekily, "Tsu...?"
Tsuyu shakes her head, "It's nothing."
It takes a few moments, but Toga realizes the issue, "Ah! Tsu! You have to explain what's bothering you! I did want to talk to you about that, though."
"Ribbit?"
"I thought about it real hard," Toga grabbed Tsuyu's hands, "and I think I kinda' love you too!"
Tsuyu's face went a bright red, "Oh. Oh! Well...that's good."
"We're in love!" Toga exclaims, drawing the attention of onlookers.
"Himiko!" the other hisses, "We're in public! Your being embarrassing!"
"I'm merely expressing my love! I love, love, love my girlfriend!"
"Himiko!"
"I love...hey, look! They have sweet bread. C'mon, let's go get some!"
Tsuyu looks utterly exasperated, jumping on the change of topic, "Fine, but you're paying."
"Agh! Betrayal!"
So maybe they're still a tad beit dysfunctional. They aren't the perfect couple, not yet. But hey, they can work on that. In fact, Toga just came up with a great idea.
After all, Tsuyu is the one thing in the world that belongs to Toga, and no one else
Toga goes back to the league in considerably better spirits than before. Well, that is until she sees Dabi's stupid face.
"Toga," he almost growls, and she can tell that he is very irritated.
"What do you want?" she couldn't help how bitter she sounded. Then again, why should she? He certainly wasn't treating her with enough respect to deserve a sweet disposition.
"You can't just stay out for that long! Don't you know how worried I was?"
"Worried?"
"Yes!" Dabi ran a hand through his hair, "You can't go off being stupid with any rando!"
"Tsu isn't a 'rando!' She's..." Toga struggles to come up with an appropriate term. Tsu was just Tsu.
Dabi let out a snicker, "You're so dumb."
"No I'm not!" because she wasn't. Dabi may have thought she hadn't thought through her actions, but she had. In fact, it was a great, great idea, "In fact, once I tell Tormura my idea today, he'll be so excited that he let's me do it all on my own!"
He paused a moment, before letting out a large sigh, "Fine. I just need you to promise me I know what you're doing."
"I...I'm going to try. That's all I can tell you."
Dabi frowned, "Okay. We good?"
Toga slung her arms around him, "Most certainly!"
"Off of me, loca!"
"Never!"
"Can you two just shut up for once!" Shigaraki wasn't asking as he stalked towards them, "A little peace if you can manage it!"
Dabi grinned, "I don't know. Can we manage it, maniac?"
"Nope!" Toga replied, just as smug, "You won't mind the noise once I tell you about what I have planned!"
It was kind of hard to get Tsuyu to come out and visit her again that night, but it had to be done. Well, it didn't have to be, but the sooner it was done the less likely she would lose her resolve.
There she is, waiting in an alleyway at seven PM when her darling runs up to her, "I hope you know I could get in trouble for this if I get caught."
That makes Toga feel a bit guilty, but not really, "Fine! I'll make it worth your while! Just give me hug real quick first!"
Tsuyu sighs like she's annoyed, but embraces Toga regardless. It is this impassioned embrace that gives Toga the perfect opportunity to insert a syringe into Tsuyu's neck. She struggles for a few short moments, before she drifts to sleep.
Toga almost feels bad as she carries Tsuyu bridal style. They had been talking about her family just that day. Unlike Toga, Tsuyu had people that would miss her. Even so, this had to be done.
It hurts but this one the only way it could end. They both knew what they were getting into.
As she climbs into the car, still supporting Tsuyu in her arms, Dabi turns to her, "You doing alright?"
(No, she's really not.)
"All according to plan!"
