Work Text:
"gguk! i'm tryna' work here!" taehyung complained, whining as jeongguk strongly pulled the slightly taller blond into his lap, hooking his lithe waist with his forearms as the elder struggled to keep his hold on his expensive laptop, his boyfriend placing him between his sweatpant clad thighs.
jeongguk cooed at the little pout on taehyung's face. "i know, baby. i just wanna' see your new tat."
taehyung has always loved tattoos, ever since he was a child. he loved the splashes of colour on skin, the dark lines that were etched into the flesh to make works of art. loved how people were blank canvases, painted with permanent ink.
when he was younger, he used to point out the people who had tattoos on the street, admiring them from a distance as he imagined how pretty they'd look on his skin. so when his friend offered him a stick-and-poke when he was still in middle school, who was he to say no?
it wasn't a great tattoo, barely decent if taehyung was honest with himself, but he loved it all the same. it was a crudely done paper airplane on his left ankle (where he could hide it) that was fading slightly, the lines not perfect nor clean, but close to taehyung's heart nonetheless.
that was only the start to his wonderful obsession. now, he was decked out with pretty pieces, some holding such deep meanings, so well thought out that they could make taehyung tear up if he looked too long. others were mistakes that he got shit-faced drunk where he can't even remember getting them at all. taehyung would be lying if he said he didn't love them all, though.
the boy made quite the sight to most people. his gangly arms were etched with various pieces that all found a way to match together, the contrasting colours matching in a way that didn't make much sense, but somehow worked with a look of beautiful chaos that matched taehyung perfectly.
his soft tan thighs were wrapped with tattoos, the bright colours standing out against his smooth bronze coloured skin as the fluid lines trailed across the surface of his long legs, winding to create detailed pretty pictures and carefully drawn patterns that kept people entranced and staring.
taehyung's face was free of any ink (except for his dumb moustache one tatted on his inner lip that he always whips out whenever he has just a bit too much to drink). his soft almond eyes really differed from the boy's seemingly dark, edgy look, his chocolate coloured orbs always filled with kindness, no matter who he was talking to. his plush pink lips always curled with that boxy smile that never failed to send jeongguk's heart flying, just a toothy grin making the younger weak in his knees and soft in his heart.
taehyung really was a work of art.
"you coulda' just told me, i would've let you see it," taehyung grumbled, but there was no malice in his tone. he loved it when jeongguk fussed over him whenever he got a new tattoo, always begging to see it and touch it, peppering the ink with soft kisses. jeongguk loved art just as much as taehyung, being an art student himself as well.
"but it's so much more fun to get you all worked up." jeongguk smiled at the faked hurt gasp that left taehyung's lips, pinching taehyung's soft bread cheek with a wide grin, chuckling when taehyung mumbled something like "brat" under his breath.
"you're very lucky i love you." taehyung crossed his inked covered arms over his chest with a light huff, leaning his back against the broad chest that was behind him.
jeongguk hummed in response. "that i am."
the raven haired used his hand to gently push away the silky gold locks that covered the back of taehyung's tan neck, displaying the still healing tattoo that was inked there.
the tattoo was relatively simple in comparison to some of the others the elder had, the ink nothing too extravagant, but still so pretty. it was a simple strand of lavender, the whimsy petals softly done in a lilac colour that looked gorgeous on taehyung's golden skin. it was very minimalistic, something that themed through a lot of the designs that the elder had, most of his tattoos simple and delicate.
the soft purple flower stem with the gold of taehyung's hair surrounding looked so gorgeous, it had jeongguk in awe.
jeongguk was convinced that his boyfriend belonged in a museum of art.
the younger started to gently trace his cherry lips along the elder's smooth neck, inhaling the comforting smell of clean linen with a hint of sweet lavender, jeongguk softly nuzzling his nose into the warm crook of taehyung's neck, basking in the familiar scent and warmth that he loved.
he left light pecks across the soft expanse of taehyung's nape, sweet suckling sounds of lips on skin sounding through the quiet room as taehyung allowed himself to get lost in the gentle touches that jeongguk pressed into his supple skin.
the pair of crimson lips met the surface of the new tattoo timidly, ghosting his lips across the light coloured ink as he breathed gentle puffs of warm air across taehyung's neck, letting his mouth meet the healing skin gently, careful not to irritate the still sensitive skin.
jeongguk turned his head to look at taehyung for a moment, his heart swelling. the honey haired boy's eyes were shut, his thick dark lashes dusting his cheeks, a small smile on his rose coloured lips as he softly melted against jeongguk's delicate touches. he seemed to be in his own world, his pretty face relaxed and calm, his breathing light and steady as his broad chest rose and fell gently, the tee shirt he was wearing sloping to show some of the tattoos inked on his tan chest.
jeongguk was in love, really in love.
he placed a kiss to the tip of the lavender stem, lips meeting the violet coloured ink one last time before lying down on his back, meeting the soft surface of the mattress, allowing a now asleep taehyung to rest on his chest, feeling the calming vibrations of his heartbeat on top of him, syncing with his own rhythmic beat.
jeongguk pressed a final kiss to taehyung's forehead before letting himself close his eyes too.
"i love you, taehyung."
