Chapter Text
It was the dead of night, spring colours have faded away becoming a matte black canvas leaving twinkling stars to look upon. The harsh bite of the wind blew, as complete and utter silence filled the scene until it was interrupted. Cries could be heard, painful sobs. Jimin didn't know what to do with himself. He had run out of the house barely clothed in home slippers and a fluffy robe that was wet from his sweat or his tears.
He hadn't realized he had arrived at Jungkook's doorstep until the porch light switched on and the door clicked open. Jimin suddenly remembered in his haze that he had texted Jungkook.
"Jimin?" Jungkook whispered, his thick brows furrowed in confusion at his ex-boyfriend shivering with a wet red face. He felt his heartstrings tug fearing what could have happened to someone he used to know everything about, someone he loves. The sadness oozing from the blonde was sour and overwhelming it nearly made him dizzy
Jimin let out a shaky breath as Jungkook walked closer into the street light, it was 2 am. Although the alpha usually just wore his briefs to sleep he had put on appropriate clothing for the cold night after he received Jimin's vague text that read ‘they had to talk’. At first, a bit of hope filled his chest at the possibility, but seeing Jimin now looking so distraught, he knew it was far from good news.
"Jungkook we need to talk." Jimin grimaced, as held his arm around himself to protect himself from what he would like to believe was the cold but actually, it was the alpha's scent his omega missed so much. He hadn’t felt so warm in so long.
Hearing his voice suddenly made Jungkook cold, remembering why they had to break up in the first place. He doesn't know why but he suddenly felt guarded, his alpha protecting him for a change. It was weird protecting himself from someone he used to let in so easily. The omega in front of them had caused them a lot of stress recently but it was probably the same for Jimin too. Sadly they weren't good for each other. At least that’s what Jimin made him think.
"It's 2 am."
Jimin glassy eyes stared up at jungkook as he nodded apologetically. "I know I-I'm, I just felt like this couldn't wait any longer," he whispered.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes as the omega shifted on his feet uneasy, Jimin was now closer, his scent filling his mind as much as the alpha tried to protect themselves even more from it.
"What couldn't?’ He huffed, not feeling comfortable with the overpowering scent of pure anxiety coming from the omega. He's never smelled anything like that on him before. Jimin was usually calm with him and if his alpha wasn't trying so hard to keep their guard up he would be scenting the omega right now releasing comforting pheromones for the blonde beauty but things have changed. It's only been a month but it's been a long month of thinking especially since now they were seniors and it was easier to distract themselves.
"I-I" Jimin looks down at his fingers as he crosses his hands again, he was ridiculously fidgety but this was something he couldn't hold back. He was scared.
Jungkook frowned even more at that, his alpha really wasn't happy, why was fear radiating from his omega (not his omega) so much? He looked behind Jimin to see if anyone was there, but still, in the dark, his night vision couldn’t see any potential threats nor could he pick on any foreign scents. It was just them two. Why did Jimin even walk alone at night in barely any clothes, what was he thinking? His alpha did not like that one bit. He really lived to make them agitated.
"Couldn't this have been said on the phone-."
"No!" Jimin firmly stated, staring back into the dark pools of Jungkook's eyes whilst fear still invaded his.
"I have to do this face to face, there's no other way."
Jungkook exhales heavily at that, his hands curling in anticipation, he doesn't think he wants to hear what Jimin has to say anymore, but if Jimin was this scared he had to know so he can get rid of whatever is causing this amount of stress. That couldn't be good for anyone no matter how close deadlines are coming.
"Jungkook I don't know how to say this, we're so young and this is the last thing we should be worried about, in fact, it shouldn’t have even have happened, were both so young a-and we have our whole lives ahead of us and you just got this amazing scholarship for the college of your dreams because of your hard work in basketball! And your studies and you don't need this and I'm sorry I'm going to dump this on you because your-you're probably so busy like you were when we were dating, I-I saw how much you stressed? and I can't do this to you but it's eating me up inside and I know I'll regret this like Hoseok keeps saying. I just had this terrible dream and I knew I needed to speak to you and I-"
"Jimin!" Jungkook yelled cutting a frantic jimin off on his rant, more confused than ever as Jimin started to sob even more. He was so confused on what the hell Jimin was talking about. Did he really call him out to praise and basically recite exactly what he said to him over their break up?
About how Jungkook was too busy for him and how he was just getting in the way especially of their future, Jungkook had said Jimin was speaking nonsense back then worried that his dad said something to Jimin again to make him feel like this, either way, it wasn't true. Jimin never made him feel like he was holding anything back, in fact, he had a lot to thank Jimin for being where he was now, that scholarship wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for him.
"Jungkook." responded shakily trying to hold himself together.
"Jimin what the hell-."
"I'm pregnant!"
Then the silence of the dead night resumed, other than Jimin and himself all that seemed to exist was the chilly wind.
“You gotta eat.”
“I feel so queasy though.” Jimin groans as he face-plants on the table. They were in the school library and although they were not allowed to eat in there Hoseok was making an exception and still trying to force feed Jimin who had nothing but an apple all day.
“Jimin this isn’t only for your benefit, there is someone much more important-”
“Hey!”
Hoseok chuckled as he rose the sandwich near Jimin’s lips again. “Please for me?”
Jimin loved his beta best friend he did but all day he’s been feeling nauseous and every smell ticked him off especially the BLT sandwich that Hoseok was trying to shove in his face. “Hoseok-ie the smell of bacon makes me feel so ill.” he pouts.
Hoseok's sighs “But Chim you have to eat something ok? Anything.” Speaking in the same cute manner Jimin tried with him.
“Soup.” Jimin shrugged, he was pretty sure that’s the only thing he would be able to keep down for now.
“And where are we gonna get that? The cafeteria isn’t selling soup today.” Just as Hoseok spoke those words, chatter invaded the library. They weren’t at the quiet section but it was still too loud for the ground floor of the library to be this loud, then Hoseok saw how pale Jimin got.
“Does it really smell that bad Jimin? You don’t look so good.” Jimin wasn’t listening to what he was saying though, his eyes trained on the one person he wasn’t ready to see, never ready to see if he had to be honest.
There he was Jeon Jungkook in all his glory, smiling and laughing without a care in the world, his dark black hair falling into his eyes. Jimin used to love that when it all got long and fluffy and Jungkook allowed him to run his finger through his hair pretending to be annoyed with the action. He’d threaten to cut it but even when he did he barely had it cut that much and that’s when he knew Jungkook was lying.
“Jimin?” Hoseok’s voice trails off as he turns to look at what Jimin was looking so intensely at and once he did his features hardened. He turned back to Jimin who was already packing up and moving from his seat before he could say anything, “I-I um I’m going to the bathroom.” He rushed leaving through the other exit.
Once he reached the bathroom, he quickly gripped the sink trying to control his breathing. He really did not want to throw up in school. He already had enough stares at school because of the “golden couple” breaking up. It was even in the school newspaper? He didn’t need this. It was already less than months till graduation he just needed that to stay low and get away from everything. He needed to have his baby, protect him or her and himself even without Jungkook especially without Jungkook.
Hoseok soon ran after him, quickly shutting the bathroom door, “I seriously hate him I do, he thinks he can just walk around like he isn’t the biggest asshole around he’s dead wrong-.”
“Hoseok,” Jimin sighed shaking his head, “Don’t bother.”
“What do you mean don’t bother? It makes me so angry Jimin this isn’t like—it's not like him to just abandon you.”
Jimin flinched at that. It made Jungkook sound like a bad person.
“This is why I kept it from him before remember? I didn’t want him to give up on anything, his future is too bright for him not to even have a chance at it.” Jimin turned back around, facing Hoseok with glassy eyes, whispering brokenly, “I broke up with him.”
Hoseok frowned, “Yeah but I thought when you told him he’d be the one to knock some sense into you and tell you it didn’t have to be like that? A-And what about your future It was just as bright as his. Having a baby isn’t the end of the world.
“It is when your eighteen.” Jimin almost hissed, he loved his best friend he did, but being a pregnant teenager wasn’t that easy as much as he hoped it was. He had his life planned, both he and Jungkook did, they had been planning in what felt like forever. “And may I’m fine with throwing everything away but I know he wouldn’t be.”
Jimin didn’t resent the baby, they weren’t planned but it's something that had happened and he chose to live with. He did not want to hold Jungkook down and for Jungkook to later resent him because of it. He didn’t want to be at fault of Jungkook’s happiness being taken away. Just like he was always told by Jungkook’s father. He wasn’t going to be the fall of Jungkook’s career. This just proved it.
Hoseok like everyone else in the school and maybe even the town was absolutely shocked, baffled even that they were broken up, he didn’t understand? They were so in love, their love was different from puppy high school love. They were voted most likely to get married each year of high school and then all of a sudden they were over. Just like that. It made no sense.
As Jimin’s best friend, Hoseok knew something had been going on between the golden couple after their fights started being constant and they were giving each silent treatments more than they were talking. It made him more confused that most of the time it was coming from Jimin’s side, that even his boyfriend at the time had to approach him one day asking him what was wrong but neither of them knew.
“Jimin you’re gonna be fine either way.” Hoseok reasoned, he knew what Jimin was given up and it was a lot. He had been working his way to becoming a lawyer attending the same college as Jungkook but that would have to hold for now. A lot of things did. “Look on the bright side you work as an assistant in a daycare centre and tutor kids, you’re already so good with them your going to do well Jimin-ah.”
“I’m not too worried about me, I-.” Cut off by the school bell the dancers sigh as they get ready to leave, Hoseok firstly checks if Jimin is well enough to leave and is answered with a small smile.
In classroom 209, Jimin could feel a burning stare at the back of his head and scowl, annoyed.
This look was different than the rest, he could feel the change compared to when they first broke up because that one was concerned then turned to resentment and as much as it hurt Jimin, he couldn’t get the sad bunny look Jungkook had on his face out of his head making his omega whine almost embarrassingly. He nearly smiled at that image back then and wanted to walk over to him and tell him just how he missed him.
But this stare had a different meaning and he obviously knew why but he couldn’t tell what it meant and it was bugging him. Why was he even staring at him? Jimin did not want any more attention than he’s already getting because of their stupid break up. Even after a month, people were still trying to get over it like they are apart of the relationship. They never even meant to have their relationships so public but whatever that caused it is really biting them in the ass. Sitting at the edge of his seat, the blonde watched the clock tick by waiting for the bell to ring for the end of the school day.
Just as the thought of how intimidating that stare was passed his thoughts again, the bell finally went off signalling the end of the class. Jimin sighed quickly shoving his books into his bag, it technically wasn’t the end of the school day for him, he was the school president meaning he had to stay back and take care of a long list of responsibilities. Jimin enjoyed the role a lot he did, but now that he may not even be going to college anymore there was nothing to really motivate him to go through paperwork and check for every notice the student body had voiced out. He wanted to make people happy it was just so hard right now when he wasn't exactly happy himself.
He yawned as he walked through the cluttered hallways, he’d been so tired lately no matter how much he slept and his mother was catching on. He let out another yawn his eyes watering as he made sure to note in his head not to stay back as much as he usually should, he was way too tired to do that. He reached his locker and quickly glancing behind him he met the stare that had been on him for well over an hour now. Jungkook’s.
Jimin waited for him to glance away and when he didn’t Jimin could help but be the first to turn away. What was he doing? He was messing with his omega and he’s pretty sure the school new paper editor just walked by, they don’t need another story. He was doing that blank face thing Jimin hated, he really couldn’t read what he was thinking.
Shutting his locker he was soon faced with a taller figure in front of him and faint scent telling him it was a beta. The dark brown intense eyes widened as he looked over Jimin, almost calculating him. Jimin didn’t know what to say.
Kim Taehyung the best shooting guard of the basketball team, also very popular and also known as Jungkook’s best friend. Jimin and Taehyung weren’t as close as him and Jungkook but they talked and over the years Jimin really became comfortable with him and he was a good friend to Jungkook so Jimin did like him. But this was just awkward.
“Jim,” Taehyung spoke raising his perfectly shaped brow, surprised, although they were locker neighbours he hasn’t seen him for a while and can’t lie that he didn’t miss the charming one. Jimin kind of avoided his locker when they first broke up keeping most of his things in his office of Hoseok’s locker. He was surprised Taehyung was still talking to him, to be honest considering how he looked at him during the early days of his break up with his best friend.
“Tae hey?” the blonde reluctantly responded, keeping his books close to his abdomen almost protecting it and Taehyung noticed, “How are you?” The taller lifted his gaze to Jimin’s eyes giving him a small smile whilst closing his locker, “Good thanks, h-how are you.”
Jimin tilted his head in confusion at that, Taehyung never felt nervous about anything, in fact, he was the most confident person Jimin has ever met and never sounded uncertain of himself. Taehyung’s gaze suddenly fell from Jimin’s scrutinizing eyes, till it suddenly hit Jimin, of course, Jungkook must have told him. Why wouldn’t he tell his best friend now Jimin felt even more super awkward around him now.
“I’m fine.” He could tell Taehyung wanted to say more which he really didn’t want to go through, he didn’t want to talk about anything related to Jungkook so that’s why he was thankful when a member of the student council, a junior approached him.
“Hey, Jimin do you have a minute? It’s about Senior Prom.”
Jimin quickly nodded at the junior quickly sending Taehyung an apologetically smile even though he was slightly grateful. “Oh Tae, I have to go, duty calls, you know?”
“Of course, school president and all, a lot of responsibilities.” And there it was again the nervous unfamiliar Taehyung that only left Jimin giving him an awkward look before spinning on his heel and walking down the hall with the junior that wasn’t paying attention to their interaction following closely behind.
Before Taehyung could go over to his locker again, he caught the piercing gaze of his best friend before shrugging at him helplessly.
Jimin owned his own office because of his position as the school president. He was so grateful for it because it was own little place in school to get away from everyone since he was basically the only one allowed in there. Jungkook used to come in a lot especially when he had a free period or wanted to skip a class with a teacher really couldn’t stand. They would talk for ages about anything and everything then share many little kisses and trying not to get things too heated. Especially since they were still on school grounds and being the school president and the school’s star quarterback, both top students getting in trouble for indecency didn’t look good at all for either them.
“The principal wants the final list of students attending the senior prom.” The junior, Wonwoo who followed Jimin inside his office announced watching as Jimin took off his coat and sat on his chair.
Jimin nodded pulling out the notebook from the organized piles of folders, he was a bit old fashioned in the way he preferred to write more on paper than type his work out. He opened the files, quickly finding a list of definite attendees, no one wanted to miss senior prom.
To be completely honest with everything that is going on, Jimin forgot about senior prom. Before the, well the baby, he’s been planning this night for what seems like forever, a night that was meant to be very special or so they say but now looking at his name and Jungkook’s name next to each other he couldn’t help the sting that started in his eyes.
“Jimin?”
Jimin quickly crossed his name out, knowing he was no longer going but leaving Jungkook’s name (as much as it hurts) in case he had plans, though it was his job to make sure to get an accurate number. He would have to find out Jungkook’s answer.
“School president a senior and not going to the senior prom? But you organized a lot of it.”
Jimin sighed, that’s true, he doesn’t even know if he’s allowed to miss it because he’s the freaking school president that has to be at everything and be responsible for it all. “I guess I can’t can I?’ Jimin mumbled, writing down his name again except this time separating his name from Jungkook’s. That would just mean they wouldn’t have to take pictures together. Hopefully.
Jimin handed the list to Wonwoo, thanking him before he left his little office. He was so stressed, he was ready to go back home, cuddle into his bed and cry till he falls asleep. But no, the world doesn’t want that for jimin, no the world wants all the disturbance in the world to affect him.
To be honest, after getting pregnant he shouldn’t be too surprised about anything that happens oh no, not after that positive pregnancy test has to the top shocker on his list. Nothing beats those dozens of two red lines he had to stare that when he closed his eyes those lines were boring through his eyelids.
“Come in.” Jimin groaned after he realized he hadn’t answered the continuous knocks.
A face he saw not too long ago walks in.
“Taehyung? What are you doing here?” Jimin questions in utter irritation now. He doesn’t want to see him again he just wants to be alone with his thoughts away from anything that relates to him. Although he had to be honest with himself his whole room related to Jungkook they’ve shared way too many memories.
“We heard you were hungry.” Taehyung replies ignoring Jimin’s irritation though he still felt awkward.
Jimin furrows his brows, “What?”
Instead of replying Taehyung digs out a brown bag from his bag.
Call it superpowers but ever since Jimin had gotten pregnant he’s been able to smell things a lot better and he knows how his favourite soup smells like.
Jimin eyes Taehyung and that’s when Taehyung snaps. Jimin could be scary. “Jungkook overheard—“
“Jungkook shouldn’t be worrying about me.” Jimin snaps “isn’t it his goal to focus on the one thing that matters this year to him the most.”
Taehyung shook his head growing angry himself. “You can’t seriously believe that? You broke up with him Jimin.”
Jimin shook his head, “It’s a long story it’s more than that. I was trying to protect him, all my actions so far were because I had him in mind but I guess he thinks differently.”
“Jimin it’s not fair.” Taehyung shook his head, “You barely gave him a chance, you chose yourself that he was going to be a deadbeat.”
“Jungkook would hate me if I was the cause of him not going for his dreams. Tae you know more than anyone how much that scholarship means to him. Remember once he put us on a break so he could focus?”
“That was a week he was scared, it wasn’t his fault his dad—“
“His dad exactly.” Jimin sighed sadly, “Jungkook doesn’t want this.”
“He still doesn’t think that you doing this on your own is right.”
Jimin chuckled, with no trace of actual humour. “He never said that to me. Did he tell you what he told me when I told him that night?”
Taehyung sighed shaking his head, Jungkook didn’t.
“Trust me, he doesn’t want any of this and we’re not what’s on his mind right now. You didn’t see his eyes that night.” Jimin says painfully, he felt in a way stronger mentioning his baby like that his omega liking it.
Although his omega is still not fully on his side pushing for him to return to the alpha he understood where he was coming from.
“I’ll see you later Tae, thanks for being bringing the soup and thank Jungkook I guess.”
“Honey, you’re wearing your scent blockers again?” Mrs Park’s voice rang through the kitchen as her son stepped inside the warm home. It was already 5 pm.
Jimin unconsciously touched his neck, near his scent gland where he had rubbed scent blockers in this morning. Not too long ago Hoseok had said Jimin scent has started to change, something milkier no doubt because of his newfound pregnancy. His smell was much sweeter and another omega would be quickly able to tell why that change was occurring so if the beta was telling him then he needed to be safer before anyone else except the father of the baby, of course, knew hat Jimin had a growing pup in his belly.
And there was no doubt his mom would found out quickly and Jimin wasn't ready for that at all. Mrs Park constantly boasts about her hardworking and studious son who got accepted into a top university with his handsome alpha that he will soon marry. Her son had everything and she had always been so proud of him. Now if Jimin were to tell her he could no longer go to university and had to stay home and mind his child? He would never hear the end of it. She wasn’t a bad person, Jimin loves his mother so much but no one is ever ready for this kind of a downfall for their child.
She was already so confused about his break up with Jungkook. She also loved that boy like he was his own son and she knew how in love Jimin was with him so when Jimin told her she felt utterly confused and disappointed since Jimin couldn’t give her a valid answer. At first, she thought the tall jock had cheated because it had to be the only reason, him doing something unforgivable like hurting her son really bad even though it never seemed in his nature to do something like that, it was the only thing that made sense to her. But when Jimin immediately defends his honour she was just confused.
“Um yeah, I just feel uncomfortable not having them on.” The last time he wore scent blockers was before him and Jungkook were dating, he took them off after he and Jungkook started scenting each other and because he really liked the way Jungkook smelt and wanted it to wrap around him, the alpha’s scent protecting him from unwanted creeps.
Jimin’s mother, Sooyoung sighed as she looked worriedly over at her son. He’s been very different these days. She has a few suspicions about somethings but every time her mind wanders over her common sense debunks the outcome. It was probably still the breakup.
“Are people bothering you? And people I mostly mean alpha’s now that you don’t have Jungkook's scent protecting as you’ve always had, it must be hard.” Jimin sighed as he thought about how wrong his mother actually was. Yes, he and Jungkook weren’t scenting each other but carrying his pup he technically had jungkook's scent for another 9 months, he’s barely 2 months along so it’s still not as prominent but soon Jungkook’s scent would be stronger mixed within his scent. That thought only sends a warm feeling within him, a warm feeling he wished he was sharing with Jungkook. Jimin almost curses out loud, why can’t his omega stop adding Jungkook into every equation. Jungkook wanted out and if he repeated himself enough it would hurt his omega enough to stop whining, they’re one but they had their differences.
“No one’s bothering me mom, It just makes me feel better if I wear them.”
Finishing up with the dishes, Sooyoung walks towards her son grabbing his cheeks forcing it into a pout as he whines.”I’m worried about you chick, you’ve been sick lately, you barely eat and all that stress can’t be good for you. I know exams are coming but your university wants you Park Jimin, they want my son because he’s the best boy! Okay? So please take it easy and know you can talk to me about anything.”
And at the worst possible times, Jimin’s hormones started to kick in, he started to tear up at his mother’s words. He was so sorry. He can’t believe he was dumb enough to get pregnant at eighteen.
Mrs Park released her son's face once she saw how glossy his eyes had become, she was getting so worried. “Honey-.”
“I’m fine mom, I promise it’s just stress of exams I still want to do well at the end of the day.”
“Of course.” Jimin’s mom smiles, concern still laced within her features, “Why don’t you head on up, I’ll call you for dinner,”
Laying in his bed Jeon Jungkook continued throwing the basketball before it fell back into his palm and then repeating. He’s been doing this for an hour and a half in a complete daze, he’s pretty sure Taehyung called but he only looked at his phone when his best friend sent a text after. None he replied to though.
‘Jimin said thank u for the soup’
‘And the coach is mad u missed practice’
‘Just so u know im ur best friend always here for u ok’
He sighed finally letting his arms rest. He hadn't got out of his clothes yet, still in his navy basketball jacket and tight jeans that were beginning to become uncomfortable. He’s just been so out of it recently, in fact, more than before. When Jimin broke up with him, he was a wreck. The timing couldn’t have been worse not that Jimin breaking up with him was ever a good time, but it was his final season on the team and he wasn’t even playing at the level of a player who got into a top university because of his skills. He was playing like he didn’t own the offer he earned after all that hard work even reflecting in his grades too. That’s why he wasn’t surprised by the harsh knock at his door.
HisDad.
“Son.”
Jungkook sat up on his bed as he made room for his dad near the edge of the bed, who was soon sitting beside him. The man next to him shared a strong resemblance to him, his facial structure, sharp jawline, raven hair, height, big brown eyes to his strong nose and of course his status.
“Hey, Dad.”
“So are you going to tell me what’s been going on?” Jungkook’s father had been a basketball champion too in high school, he was the best of the best, the best point guard on the same school team Jungkook was currently on. The Jeon’s were known for their wealth and talent and Jungkook was showing every day how and why they were unbeatable. Although the town didn’t slightly dislike the Jeon’s because of that, it was because of how arrogant they were well at least his Dad was the arrogant one. Jungkook was nothing like that thankfully taking after his mother’s personality or just overall being his own good person. Also the actual first Jeon, Jungkook’s older brother, Namjoon that his dad never liked to mention or even act like he even exists. Just because he wasn’t into basketball showed a lot of his Dad’s personality.
“Nothing’s going. I guess it’s just exam stress.”
“You know Jungkook, I thought when you finally got rid of that omega you would have your head more in the game, focus on your studies until finding another pretty, suitable omega when you get to university.”
Jungkook’s fist clenched. His father never liked Jimin and Jungkook never knew why no one ever knew. Jimin was perfect, with his perfect grades, perfect extra curriculums, he was school president for two years because everyone liked him so much he was such a sweetheart and undoubtedly the most beautiful omega Jungkook’s ever seen.
“Dad stop this has nothing to do with him.”
“Of course it does, ever since you’ve been dating him he’s been a distraction trying to rip you away from the happiest day of your life which is when you start at the best university in the country. He’s never wanted you to reach your full potential bringing you down when you should be focusing on your only goal.”
That wasn’t true at all, Jimin had, in fact, tutored him a lot even left his work to help him with his before. Jimin was an amazing person even if he’s currently mad at the said boy now, but Jungkook’ couldn't say any of that.
“We're not even together anymore, we’ve broken up so he’s not apart of this.”
“And good riddance-.”
Jungkook’s jaw clenched, grinding his teeth whilst his father ranted on about how Jimin was the worst mistake of his life. He always brought Jimin down and it had always worried Jungkook that one day it would get to him and he would leave him. Which is what eventually what happened and after begging Jimin asking him the reason why they had to break up, one reason that he thought of was his Dad. Jimin used to tell him that his love was too strong for him to leave because of that but Jungkook could tell it stung him still whenever his dad would ignore Jimin’s generous advances or sneer at anything he tried to say.
Jungkook would get so angry but he couldn’t bring himself to face his father and for that, he felt like a coward. His alpha whined, again it was remorse for not protecting his omega enough that haunted him. They weren’t even mated but his alpha sure believed they were.
Another knock rang through Jungkook’s room and Jungkook let out a breath as he heard his mother’s voice. “Leave him alone Jaehyun, can’t you see his tired he needs rest?”
Jungkook’s dad grunted as he stood up from the bed walking past Jeon Jiwoo, not even sparing her a glance. Jungkook’s mother had been his dad’s second wife, she was the most hardworking woman Jungkook knew, meaning he didn’t get to see her very often. Her job caused her to travel a lot, although he very much wished for his mother to be there more. Jiwoo wasn’t a terrible mother, she always listened to his problems and loved Jimin very much like a third son. Another Jeon, he was perfect like one she would say.
In perspective, his mother was the first to find out that one day he was going to ask Jimin to marry him and that his alpha saw him as his omega already.
“Hey, baby.” Jiwoo sighed as she placed her perfectly manicured fingers on to Jungkook’s shoulder allowing the boy to meet her eyes. She frowned at his blood red glowing eyes. Jungkook had been keeping his rage in the entire time, his alpha growing antsy from his guilt.
“Don’t listen to that old man okay,” She spoke almost coo’ing at him like a child as she brushed his hair to ver his forehead preferring when he looked younger. “You’re much better than your father baby, you’re nothing like him.”
“I’m not?” Jungkook questioned cause he never felt like he was any better, he was always letting Jimin down whenever he didn’t defend him. He knew. Maybe that’s why Jimin couldn’t confide in him with something so big like this, couldn’t even believe that Jungkook would be there for him and protect him because Jungkook never did. His alpha whined in guilt and shame again he almost cried.
“Of course not, how can you think you're like him? You’re a good person Jungkook, you’re sweet, kind caring, a good alpha.” His mother reassured, Jungkook wanted to ask why he was with Dad then if she thought he wasn’t a good person but he knew the answer already.
“Jimin doesn’t think so.” He spoke bitterly, his scent becoming sad
“He does, sometimes-sometimes Jungkook, relationships can’t always be perfect, you both just need time to figure whatever is going on together. Jimin loves you, I can see it I've always had. And you have so many friends too, you’re the sweetest boy even before Jimin you were always the sweetest boy. Both you and your brother.”
At the mention of his brother, he saw his mother’s pained smile. She brought him up every day, they still talked just like Jungkook did well not lately but he still talked to his brother who was currently in Tokyo, Japan living his dream.
At that moment Jungkook wanted to tell his mother, tell her what Jimin told him that night. Something he didn’t think would ever happen at least not right now, way into their future, that's what the golden couple had planned but things change. He wanted to tell his mother because he knew her, she would be 100% there for him, she would know what to say to him because frankly, Jungkook didn’t know what to do. His body had been at battlefield since that night.
His alpha wanted to let out something like ‘my beautiful omega is giving me pups’ but that only made his stomach churn. He was so scared and that only made him think how scared Jimin is which made him feel even worse and angry at everything. He hated this so much, he was judged by all sides, his father, his coach, his teachers, his grades, soon his friends and family and then Jimin. Jimin that had every right to hate him. He would hate him too, especially after that night. He didn’t mean it, didn’t mean for it to go like that. He just thought both him and Jimin could finally escape his Dad and live a life he could give Jimin everything he wanted but.
