It started with an off-handed comment.
“Not today, Dage, I’m tired.“
Nie MingJue observed his companion who, on a second look, did appear exhausted.
“Can I help you? What do you need me to do?” Nie MingJue asked, picking up some documents and examining them.
Obviously, he meant it in the practical way, typical of Nie MingJue. But it’s not every day that you get Nie MingJue taking orders, and the idea of being able to order him around made Jin GuangYao’s imagination run wild for a moment, which was why he said:
“Well, maybe if you let me tie you up and step on you.”
Nie MingJue gave him a blank look.
“I’m joking,” Jin GuangYao quickly remedied, “don’t be offended, Dage.”
Nie MingJue raised an eyebrow in a judgemental fashion, to which Jin GuangYao understood as “are you okay?”
“It’s been a long week,” he answered with a wry smile.
"Your family,” Nie MingJue said, more of a statement than a question.
“My family,” Jin GuangYao confirmed.
And that was the end of that conversation.
Or so Jin GuangYao thought.
That evening, Nie MingJue returned with a question.
“You actually want to… bind me and step on me,” said Nie MingJue.
“Um,” said Jin GuangYao eloquently.
“Why?” Asked Nie MingJue.
Jin GuangYao blinked, then blinked again several times in rapid succession. Nie MingJue was still there, staring, demanding an answer.
Jin GuangYao laughed.
“The high and mighty ChiFeng-Zun, respected by all, always judging people from above. How’s the view from up there on your high horse?”
Nie MingJue narrowed his eyes, “You feel inadequate?”
Jin GuangYao’s mouth pressed into a thin line for a moment, “No. I don’t feel inadequate. I’m very aware of my capabilities, I just want to feel…” he thought of the time he worked under Wen RuoHan, the power-rush of striking fear and standing above those who mocked him.
“Nevermind,” He said after a beat, smiling and shaking his head. He’s not so petty that he needed Nie MingJue to perform submission. Besides, Nie MingJue was a terrible actor.
“Fine,” said Nie MingJue.
“Hm?”
“I’ll let you bind me and… place your feet on my body tonight.”
“…???”
“Or whenever you feel the need to, provided I am available and there is privacy,” seeing Jin GuangYao’s lack of reaction, Nie MingJue added helpfully.
“But… why?” Jin GuangYao finally asked, after a beat of awkward silence.
“I want to understand how you work,” Nie MingJue explained, “and you look too pitiful lately, so if this will get your mood up then it’s worth a shot.”
Jin GuangYao’s lips quirked up in a soft smile, “Tonight would be perfect, Dage.”
Nie MingJue, naked saved his inner trousers, with his entire upper body tied wuhua style, knelt on the floor of his bedroom.
Jin GuangYao, standing fully clothed, delicately lifted his boot and set it lightly against Nie MingJue’s chest.
Set scene.
“What are you waiting for? Get it done with already,” Nie MingJue’s patience was apparently wearing thin.
Jin GuangYao laughed, light and breathless, “Are you demanding to get stepped on, Nie MingJue?”
“If you want to do it, then get it done fast. You’re more efficient than this,” answered Nie MingJue.
Jin GuangYao snorted. He lifted his boot and crouched down next to Nie MingJue so they were face-to-face.
“You’re not enjoying this,” Jin GuangYao pointed out.
“Of course I don’t! I’m a man with pride,” Nie MingJue answered frankly.
“And you’re willing to give it up out of charity for me. I’m touched,” Jin GuangYao continued the sentence with a knowing smile, “I appreciate it, ChiFeng-Zun, I really do.” He moved to the back of Nie MingJue and knelt to untie him. “But I don’t want to owe you anymore than–”
“You don’t,” Nie MingJue interrupted, and pivoted his body to face Jin GuangYao, “You don’t owe me, or anyone. I want you to do this because I want you to feel the way you want to feel. I want you to step on me!”
Jin GuangYao stared back blankly.
An awkward silence passed before Jin GuangYao doubled over laughing, head against Nie MingJue’s chest and right-hand slapping against his shoulder.
Nie MingJue’s entire upper body became a deeper shade of red.
He counted to 20 before Jin GuangYao finally managed to compose himself.
“Oh Nie MingJue, Dage,” Jin GuangYao sighed between the last few chuckles, breathless. He wrapped his arms around Nie MingJue’s body and buried his face in the nape of Nie MingJue’s neck, whispering against bare skin, “you’re too good to me all of a sudden, what am I to do with you?”
The smooth silk of Jin GuangYao’s clothes brushed against Nie MingJue’s skin.
“You can do what you wanted to do,” Nie MingJue muttered under his breath.
“You know what? I’ve changed my mind,” Jin GuangYao said, “I don’t want to step on you anymore.”
Tugging the rope, Jin GuangYao lead Nie MingJue towards the bed and roughly shoved him down, before quickly disrobing and nestling himself next to his companion, curling up like a cat.
“What are you doing?” Nie MingJue asked, “I’m not sleeping in this.”
“Relax, Dage,” Jin GuangYao whispered. He offered a series of butterfly kisses, starting from the forehead and going down inch by inch until he reached the space above the heart, “Won’t you let me hold you, just for a while?”
Between the sounds of their heartbeats, Nie MingJue forgot how to say no.
He woke up very sore the next morning.
