Reader starts avoiding Bakugo

Summary:

Anonymous: *puts hand on shoulder* Hey. I request Bakugo x Reader where Reader-chan starts avoiding him and the bomb grows angrily concerned to the point he sits in her dark apartment til she gets off work (she's a detective with a hero license, and her quirk lets her see anyone's past, present, or future so long as she has something of theirs, like a favorite shirt or hair) and asks what's going on. She pulls out a mediocre crocheted infinity scarf with his color scheme and admits she was embarrassed. :3
PART 2 OF THE SAD SCARF FOR BAKUGO! The reason she made the scarf was for his birthday and she noticed tends to prefer handmade things (just a headcanon of mine, it's okay if you don't want to put that in) and things that are his color scheme, and as his current scarf is starting to fall apart, why not make a new one?basically, angst to fluffy happy little clouds. Thank you, by the way, for even considering this request. It really means a lot.

Request from Tumblr. @annabeth-ca.

Work Text:

Winter. Cold, chills, snow, lots of snow. One layer of clothing on top of another layer of clothing. But somehow, it was kind of refreshing.
Feeling the cold air against your face, hearing the snow crunch with every step. The tiny snowflakes landing on the tip of your nose, then melting at the point of contact.
There was nothing more you enjoyed than staying inside with a hot cup of chocolate while reading something or thinking about life. Family, friends, relationships. Especially the one you had with the hot headed Bakugo.

That’s when you remembered.

You little project began a few days ago. It was nothing big, just a little surprise for the one you love. To not have Bakugo find out what you were doing, you began to avoid him. It wasn’t on purpose, I mean, it kinda was, but it was for the surprise.
And your little project took longer than expected. That meant that you avoided him, for longer than you thought.

You occasionally cancelled dates and dropped out of a conversation whenever he was involved. You even told him that you could walk home by yourself, so he didn’t need to join you.
You thought it was going smooth and well, and that there weren’t any problems. But you kind of forgot how Bakugo had a fast tendency to notice when something was wrong.
The cancelled dates, even walking you home set off his little radar. He began getting a little irritated and concerned. I mean, you were his girlfriend and you should be able to tell him if something was wrong.

Days past, and he grew more and more angry and concerned every time you avoided him. One day, he had enough. He was going to figure out why you were acting like this. And by that, I mean that he’s going to wait in your apartment until you get off of work.

You worked as a detective which fitted white nicely with your Quirk, which allowed you to see the past, present or future, as long as you had an item of that person. You usually worked the night shifts, so Bakugo had to wait in your dark apartment until you came home.

You unlocked the door to your apartment, ready to look over your project to see if you had done anything wrong.
You turned on the lights and squealed and jumped as you saw the angry face of your boyfriend.

“What the hell Katsuki?” You said and calmed yourself. “Wh-what are you doing here? And, you can’t just sit there like a freak.” You took your jacket off and put your stuff down.
You looked around your apartment to see if he had accidentally broken something. But it all seemed to be in good shape. By the fact that he waited in the dark and didn’t even drink a glass of water, made you think that he waited a while for you.

“What’s going on?” You asked with a worried expression. You began walking to Bakugo, but when he suddenly stood up, you stopped in your tracks.

“What’s going on? You ask me, what’s going on? I’m asking you, what’s going on?” He said in an angry tone. You nervously gulped.

Yeah sure, you had seen Bakugo angry, but his voice sounded harsh, yet hurt.
“You have been avoiding me for the last week, and it’s fucking irritating.” He took a pause. “Is it something I did? ‘Cause if so, then fine! We can break up if you want to!”

If you could, you would most likely spit in his face. “Woah, woah, woah. Why are you jumping to conclusions? You did nothing wrong, and I-I don’t want to break up!”

“Then why are you avoiding me?”

You knew how much Bakugo loved you. You knew that he wasn’t all die, die, die. You knew he had a soft side. If you read Bakugo’s last line in an angry tone, then read it again as if he felt actually hurt, he felt like it was his fault that you were acting that way. This Bakugo had matured, and he had more feelings than just anger.

You didn’t know what to say. You were defeated. You avoided eye contact and let out a heavy sigh. You turned your back to him and walked over to your bag. You pulled out a black and red infinity scarf and held it in your hands. It was Bakugo’s color scheme. You turned to him so he could see what you held.

His eyes widen and for a second he looked apologetic.

“I noticed how your scarf was falling apart.” You looked at him. “I meant to give it to you for your birthday, but I guess you can get it early since it’s winter.” You walked over to him and put the scarf in his hands.

You let out a sigh. “And I know that you prefer handmade things instead of things for the store. I was embarrassed of making it because I thought you might think it was lame and-”
You were cut off by arms being wrapped around you. You felt Bakugo’s breath in your neck and you returned the warm and apologetic hug he gave you.

Bakugo tightened his grip around you. “I love it. And don’t you fucking dare feel embarrassed about anything again.”
A warm hug definitely fit for the cold weather outside. And a brand new scarf that you boyfriend seemed to love made it even better.

“I won’t.”
