Chapter Text
“I’m telling you Deku! This year, I’m going to win that damn Sports Festival!”
“Mhmm..” Izuku Midoriya hummed a bit at his boyfriend’s words. He pushed his shoulder up to hold his cell phone in place as he held up the metal device in his hands up to his eyes to examine it better.
“Oi! Don’t ignore me shitty nerd!”
Izuku rolled his eyes at his partner’s antics.
“Kacchan, you’ve won the U.A. Sports Festival every year since you first entered. I know you will win.”
“Those last times don’t fucking count! Icyhot never used his goddamn flames on me either time! How can I call them victories when he fucking doesn’t give it his all?!”
Izuku sighed at this as he put down the device in his hands in lieu of grabbing the notebook and pen lying on the counter.
He had to admit his boyfriend did have a point. Honestly, he would be pissed himself if he went through the U.A. Sports Festival only to have to face someone who refused to give it their all. It was insulting to the other competitors, as well as a spit in the face to the spirit of the festival.
“Well you still won against the rest of your opponents.” he reminded him, “And they gave it their all. I am surprised that Todoroki won’t use his entire quirk on you during the festival though. Didn’t you mention the other day that he does use both sides during training?”
“Don’t fucking remind me. It’s fucking bullshit! He says it has something to do with his fucking dad or something.”
“His father?” Izuku tapped the pen in his hands against his chin, “Oh right! His father is the number 2 hero, Endeavor.”
“Yeah, the damn moron whose been trying to steal the number one spot from All Might since we were little kids.”
Izuku made a face at the idea.
“No one can beat All Might.”
“Except for me. Don’t forget that nerd.” Katsuki’s ego basically oozed out of the phone, causing Izuku to roll his eyes in amusement.
“Ah yes. How could I have forgotten about the legendary, up and coming, Ground Zero. With his explosive personality and his personal hair stylist Best Jeanist-”
“I KNEW I SHOULDN’T HAVE LET THAT FUCKING OLD HAG SEND YOU THAT PHOTO!”
Izuku chuckled at his boyfriend’s anger as he began writing down notes in the notebook he was holding.
“Calm down. It was cute Kacchan.”
“THAT HAIRCUT AND INTERNSHIP WERE BULLSHIT!”
“The haircut looked nice on you and I doubt you came out of a internship with the 3rd Top Hero with nothing. You just hate to admit that he had a point.” Izuku couldn’t help but point out.
“FUCK YOU!”
“Hey Izuku!” Just then, another familiar blond peeked into the room he was in, a tired smile on her face.
Izuku glanced over at her and held up a finger as a silent sign to wait a moment.
“Kaachan give me a second, I need to talk to someone.”
“HAA?!”
He grabbed the phone from his shoulder and muted it before glancing at the door and motioning the girl to come closer.
“Hey Melissa, what’s up?” he greeted
“Nothing much.” Melissa Shield yawned as she makes her way over to him. She puts her hand on the table as soon as she came close, using it to lean on the table for support. “I just came to tell you that we need to start cleaning up soon. Security is probably going to come in soon to kick us out if we don’t.”
“Ah.. Crap! I didn’t realize it was that late already!” Izuku glances over at his phone to check the time and finds himself wincing.
8 p.m. already? How much time did he waste on the phone?!
Melissa laughs a bit at his small panic.
“It’s fine. Just wrap up the call and what you are doing. I’ll hang around for a bit so we can head out together when you are done.”
He nods quickly at this.
“Got it. Thanks Melissa!”
“No problem Izuku.” She turned to leave before pausing. “Oh! I almost forgot to tell you!”
She glanced back at him and winked.
“Dad got an answer about that request of yours. He said he emailed it to you, so you should probably check your email soon.”
Izuku felt a small bit of anxiety well up within him at her words.
So soon? He had only asked him a few weeks ago!
“Alright.I’ll check as soon as I am done!”
“Good! See you in a bit!” Melissa waved at him before exiting the room.
As soon as Melissa was gone, Izuku unmuted the phone and pressed the phone back to his ear.
“Hey. Sorry about that Kaachan.”
“What was that Shitty Nerd?” his boyfriend huffed as soon as he greeted him.
“Melissa came in and said we need to clear out the lab before we head out for the night. I probably should go now and start that actually.” he mused.
“Ugh. Fine. I have to go workout a bit before I go to bed anyway.” his boyfriend grumbled.
“Alright. I’ll call you later Kacchan-”
“Wait.” To his surprise, his boyfriend stops him just as he reaches to end the call.
“Yeah?” Izuku asked curiously.
“... When will I see you again?” There was a strangely vulnerable undertone to his boyfriend’s question.
Izuku sighed a bit at the question, his mind briefly flashing to the email Melissa had just mentioned.
“I…Don’t really know Kaachan. I have the expo in a few months and I really need to start preparing my entry for that. Not to mention I need to start applying for university soon so that will take up a large chunk of my time.”
“Yeah yeah. Fucking responsibilities and that fun shit.”
Izuku easily caught the pout in Katsuki’s voice as he spoke.
“You know I would come and visit the second I got a chance.” Izuku chided him gently.
“I could always convince the old hag to pay for a flight as soon as you are free then. Not like we are hurting for money.” Katsuki reminded him.
“I couldn’t ask that of you!” Izuku protested.
“Dumbass. I’m your fucking boyfriend. Aren’t I supposed to do stupid romantic shit like that?” He could practically hear Katsuki rolling his eyes.
“I don’t think many boyfriends offer to fly out their boyfriends from islands that don’t appear on maps.” Izuku pointed out.
“Shut up Deku.”
Izuku pressed his free hand to his forehead in exhaustion. “We’ll figure it out okay? It won’t be like this forever. I promise you, I’ll find a university in Japan to go to.”
“Whatever.”
Izuku sighed at the annoyance in his boyfriend’s voice.
“Fine. Anyway, I do seriously need to go start cleaning up. Talk to you later?”
“Yeah yeah. Sure Deku.” Katsuki’s words were dismissive, but Izuku could sense the fondness beneath them.
His heart lightening at the sound, he could not help but smile a bit.
“Bye Kacchan. I love you!”
“Whatever Deku. See ya.”
Before he can prolong the conversation anymore, Katsuki proceeded to hang up the phone on him..
Izuku found himself chuckling a bit as he moves the phone from his ear.
Ah. Same old Kaachan.
However, once the phone call ends, he does not begin the task of cleaning up like he told his boyfriend. Instead, he messes around on his phone, pulling up his email account.
It takes him a few minutes, but he soon finds the email that Melissa had been referring to earlier.
To: Izuku Midoriya ([email protected])
From: David Shield ([email protected])
Subject: U.A. Sports Festival
Hello Izuku!
I was able to get the okay for you to join me on my trip to Japan for the U.A. Sports Festival. I included the flight information and ticket in this email.
Contact me or Melissa for any questions you have about the trip!

Izuku felt a delighted grin form on his face as soon as he finished reading the email.
Looks like Kaachan was in for a surprise in the next few weeks.
