There are moments where Derek wishes that he could give Meredith the universe – both the known and unknown mysteries that it contains beyond their planet.
His heart beats for her, and already it belongs to her. This beautiful, gorgeous girl that he met at the bar across the street from the hospital.
He watches her at work and outside as she moves through the day, learning to become a doctor like he is and wishes that he could give her everything in the universe that was within his power to give.
Or even not.
He's lost, along with his heart, to her grin.
