When Midoriya Izuku was born, his parents, Inko and Hisashi, were understandably confused. After all, it was not every day that a child with an obviously mutant quirk was born into a family of emitter quirks. The two new parents were rather worried as to what this could mean for their young son and sought out professional help. It took many, many doctor visits, blood tests and examinations of their newborn son, along with themselves, soon an answer was found. After extensive background checking and DNA examination, it was discovered that it was a reemergence of past mutant quirks on both sides of the family. Though the moth aspect was rather new, although quirks evolve and mutate all the time.
This did not mean that the two parents weren’t leery of what the future could hold for their precious son. After all, mutation quirks were often discriminated against given the nature of most mutation quirks were animal-like in appearance. And their son, with his obvious differences, could be bullied and looked down upon for his quirk.
But, as Inko gazed down at her newborn son, taking in said differences; his tiny feathery antennae, the tufts of fine fur growing already around his shoulders and wrists, the nubs where his wings would grow in when older, his two pairs of arms and the bright green compound eyes that blinked up at her with sleepy innocence. As she looked down at him, she couldn’t help but smile and whisper, “Everyone will love you, I just know it.”
