It had been Jotaro’s day off for the first time in a long time, he had been travelling almost constantly the last few months to prepare for his trip to visit his daughter in prison. Rohan decided he would take a break from his manga today as well, they had been missing their time together, even if they weren’t vocal about it. They sat on the couch in silence, cuddled under a blanket and flipping through television channels.
“There’s really nothing good on anymore,” Rohan says.
“Yeah,” Jotaro replies.
“It’s kind of boring,” Rohan yawns. “Maybe we should do something else.”
“Like what?”
The smaller man thought for a minute, what could they do? Even though they’ve known each other for this long, Rohan wasn’t sure what all of Jotaro’s talents were. Then it hit him.
“You know. . . I’ve never seen you dance.”
“Dance?” Jotaro looked surprised.
“Yeah, let’s dance, Jotaro!” Rohan nagged on as he got up from their cuddly set up “Let’s do a ballroom dance.”
“Ballroom dance? “Jotaro avoided.
“Just a little bit? I mean we are getting married soon, we’ll be expected to dance,” Rohan chuckles.
Jotaro seemed reluctant but he got up from the couch in his ocean themed pajamas, while Rohan wore just a pair of boxers. The green haired one almost seemed foolish, standing there with his hand out in just boxers.
“We’ll just do something simple like a few steps and a twirl,” Rohan says. “It’ll be easy.” He didn’t really catch on as to why Jotaro seemed so hesitant, surely, he danced before, right? At least once or twice.
Jotaro hesitated, but he took his partner’s hand, placed a hand on his waist and Rohan placed his free hand on Jotaro’s shoulder. “See? And then we just step like this. . . Then this. . . “Rohan instructed, Jotaro followed but stepped on Rohan’s foot multiple times. “Okay that really hurts, “The younger man complained “Haven’t you ever ballroom danced? Didn’t you dance with your wife at your wedding?”
“Why do you know how to ballroom dance? Also, that was years ago.” Jotaro asked.
“I had to study it for my manga once,” Rohan answered. “So, I take that that’s a no.”
Jotaro looked away ashamed, he didn’t have his hat on to hide in this time, he almost felt naked.
“Here then I’ll teach you some stuff, okay?” Rohan said and smiled softly. “We can start with where we are now.”
Suddenly, hours had passed, the whole day actually. It didn’t even feel like it had been that long to Jotaro, he was so enraptured in his partner’s voice and watching him do moves had mesmerized him. As they practiced endlessly to violin music, they stared into each other’s eyes and held each other closer and closer as Jotaro got better and better. Soon they were holding each other as if it was their last dance. The quietness of the night mixed with the music and gentle air was almost intoxicating. Jotaro wanted this to last forever, he wanted to always hold Rohan closely and see him smile like this. Before they knew it, the two were worn out and sat back down on the couch under their blankets and on their pillows. ‘That wasn’t so bad- Oh my god look at the time!” Rohan looked shocked “Where did it go?”
Jotaro didn’t say anything for a minute but then he said, “Somewhere special.”
Rohan smiled and laid his head on Jotaro’s shoulder, “It’ll be even better when you get back and that special day comes.”
“Rohan,” Jotaro began, he paused then ruffled his lover’s hair “Every moment is special with you.”
