Chapter Text
☼ Sun and Moon ☾
Midoriya had never met the moon god before. Nor did he want to. Midoriya adjusted his chiton and sighed. He was currently in his bedchambers, soon to be taken by the goddess of fortune, Tsu. He was putting anything he wanted to take with him in a sack. Todoroki’s domain was on the other side of olympus, very far away. So the sun god would borrow winged sandals from Aoyama and fly to the mansion that the moon god resided in. And then Midoriya would be forced to reside there and follow Todoroki’s orders as his husband. That was not how he wanted to spend the rest of eternity.
“This arranged marriage is going to be the death of me, Ochako.” The spring goddess smiled and another little flower grew in her hair.
“At least you weren’t passed off to Shinsou, like Kaminari was. I can’t imagine living in the underworld all the time. Or Bakugo. I pity whoever he takes for a bride or husband.” Midoriya nodded.
“But I barely even know Todoroki. I don’t even know what he looks like! Why couldn’t I have just stayed alone?” Uraraka patted her companion on the shoulder.
“He isn’t that bad. From what I’ve heard he prefers to be alone too.”
“But if that’s the case, I don’t want to be trapped in a loveless marriage! I mean… I don’t know if I could fall in love with him.”
“I don’t know what to tell you, Deku.”
“I’ll just see what I can make of it. Hopefully he isn’t too cold.” Uraraka snorted.
“You don’t know? He’s half ice half fire.”
“Oh…”
Midoriya faltered. He hadn’t known that his fiancé had any powers to speak of. The cheerful god didn’t have any at all, except making it sunny out, or cloudy. He had never even met Todoroki, not even during eclipses, as he shielded his head with a mask. Midoriya only knew of a tall stranger in a robe very unlike the chitons he wore.
He was to reside with Todoroki for three months until they wed. This wasn’t All Might’s decision, of course. It was Aizawa’s. The god of thunder and the god of the sea. Both older than all the other young gods and goddesses, they ruled supreme.
“I just don’t get why I have to be the one offered to him. Why not Momo?”
“We both know that All Might swore to her she would never be forced to marry.”
“Hmph. Well I’m done now. Where’s Aoyama?”
With an extravagant burst of purple glitter, the blonde appeared. “You called?” Midoriya waved the glitter away, some sticking to his long, silk, white chiton.
“Thanks for giving me a terrible first impression.”
“Oops. I’m sure it will add to your… charmingness.”
Midoriya glared. “Just give me the shoes and guide me there.” Aoyama complied. Once all three were outside, Aoyama carried the sun god's bags and took a running start before leaping into the air, then flying. Uraraka patted Midoriya on the shoulder. “I'll visit you!” The freckled god smiled weakly. The sunset cast a warm glow.
“You better.” They embraced quickly before Midoriya followed Aoyama, jumping up and wobbling a little before gaining his balance once more.
The two flew for hours over olympus, the hills and pastures, caves and forests. Soon they came upon a particularly rocky mountain with a palace resting upon the top ridge. With white columns and floors, it looked not all too different from Midoriya's former home. There was a big staircase leading down to a field with nymphs giggling and rolling around.
The palace by itself was impressive. It was bigger than Midoriya's, for sure. Sapphires and pearls decorated the door, which was made from gold. The pillars were about five times the sun god's height, and two times thicker than he. And then the moon god was waiting near the door, some nymph maids waiting.
“We're here, Deku.” Aoyama landed swiftly on the marble plateau, unlike Midoriya, who was flung onto the cold stone, face first. The winged shoes were quick to fly off his feet and into Aoyama's bag. Midoriya sat up, dazed. He looked up to see the tall god he was engaged to. He had on a blackish blueish kimono type outfit, and sandals. He had a pure white mask, with sparkling red designs etched into it. From what Midoriya could see of his hair, it was red on one side and white on the other.
Cold radiated from him, a chill that seeped out in tendrils, almost. It was clammy and icy, different from the stone that Midoriya was pressed against.
He quickly got his bearings and scrambled to stand. He could feel the piercing look he was getting. Midoriya was almost sweating he was so nervous. “Have you no dignity, Deku? Introduce yourself.” Aoyama commented.
“I um… I'm the Izuku god, sun… I mean uh- the god sun Midoriya- I'm uh…” He was beginning to become a flustered mess, realizing that he was also covered in purple glitter. Aoyama cackled before dropping Midoriya's bag and leaving. Todoroki waved a hand and the maids left, going inside. The sun god's cheeks were a deep pink. His tan skin was covered in freckles and glitter. “I'm Izuku Midoriya, god of the uh… the sun. Yes! That's me…” He laughed awkwardly.
“Come in.” Todoroki's voice was garbled through the mask. Midoriya immediately gathered his possessions and followed his fiancé.
The inside was not much different from the outside. Marble walls and a red carpet. Then Midoriya remembered he was barefoot. Silent Todoroki lead him through the maze like hallways.
“This is the servants bathing room.” He said, gesturing to a door to a steamy hallway, laughter coming from within. Todoroki quickly moved on, the sun god struggling to keep up. “There are more servants quarters down here but I need not go through all of them.” Midoriya nodded. “This is the kitchen.” The sun god smelled bread and relaxed for a moment. “Keep up, dandelion.” Midoriya mumbled an apology before running to catch up.
Todoroki gestured to a circular staircase with red rubies embedded into the railing. “Do not go up there. Consider yourself warned.”
“But why?”
“Because I said so.”
Midoriya frowned. If there was one thing he didn't like, it was not knowing his surroundings.
Two flights of stairs and a left turn later, the two came to a hallway with tapestries decorating the walls. Designs of deer, the other gods and goddesses, and many other exotic animals with bright colors hung. There was even one of Midoriya.
Todoroki gestured to a room with a black door. “These are my bedchambers. Yours are next to mine. The rooms are connected through a bathing room. Your room is the door with the yellow and purple gems. Get settled, change your clothes, take a bath, do whatever you please. Just be ready to eat dinner in two hours.” Todoroki entered his room, leaving Midoriya alone in the hall. He walked down, looking for a door to fit Todoroki’s description. He heard whispers and looked behind himself. The giggles stopped and he saw a few nymphs hurrying away.
He found his room. It was big and cushy, different from his old one. Red dirty carpet cover most of the floor, but midoriya could see the cracked granite. A window gave him a view of the valley and forest behind the palace. There was a desk with paper and ink in the corner. The room was covered in dust. The bed was circular with many blankets and pelts on it. Against the left wall was a dresser and vanity. On top of the dresser sat a stuffed lion. The very creature that Midoriya had created and put on earth.
Besides that, the room was empty, dusty, and dark with a few candles lit. The sun god already didn’t like this. He set his sacks down. ‘First order of business is a bath and a change of clothes.’
Midoriya looked through the clothes in the dresser. They were mostly robes similar to his fiancé’s. He frowned. He put the robes all in one drawer, making room for his chitons, togas, and other clothes. He found a simple white chiton pinned at the shoulder, going to his ankles. He put on some lacy sandals and looked at his appearance in the vanity mirror. He shook out his hair, trying to get it to dry faster. He hated looking like a wet dog.
Someone knocked on the door and Midoriya jumped. “C-come in.” A floating dress entered, bowing.
“Hello, Midoriya.”
“Erm… hi.”
The voice came from the dress. “Oh! My apologies! I forget my appearance is… unsettling. I’m Tooru Hagakure. I’ll be the maid who attends to most of your needs.”
“M-maid?”
“Yes. Todoroki sent me to check up on you.”
Midoriya blinked a few times. “Ah, yes… well I haven’t gotten into any trouble yet, haha…” The dress shifted. The invisible nymph giggled.
“Although I’m sure that any other servant would be happy to help you. It’s been a long time since we talked to a god besides Todoroki. And he isn’t one for chatter.”
“I’m not surprised. Anyways, are there any seamstresses around?”
Tooru paused. “I’m not sure, but I can ask around!” The sun god nodded.
“But do you suppose you could give me a quick tour?”
