Quaff - Father Comparison

Summary:

Tony reflects on how Gibbs reminds him of his father.

Notes:

Another dictionary.com word of the day drabble. This time from 09/06/2002 for the word quaff.

Work Text:

Tony never told anyone this, but Gibbs reminded him of his father. After all, they both quaffed alcohol to excess at times. The main difference, which was an important one, was that Gibbs never abused him while under the influence.

Additionally, Gibbs never drank at work and he actually cared about Tony. Tony had even heard that Gibbs was proud of him, something Senior never had been. All in all, Gibbs was an improvement over his father, but still the reminder was there.

Early on, he'd considered Gibbs as a possible romantic partner before he realized just how much his boss hit the booze after work. It was impossible for Tony to see him as such, now. The reminder of his father permanently placed Gibbs into a father figure role outside of work.

Notes:

The dictionary.com series has 11 stories already written for it after this one, so I will be posting at least 11 stories before I stop posting again. I'm hoping to get more stories written before then, so that I don't stop posting for a while. Wish me luck!
