In the winter, it seemed like a blessing to have two warm bodies squished against you.
But now? Right now? You couldn't remember the last time you'd been so sweaty.
As he had come into the room before bed, Chris turned off the floor fan until everyone's hair had dried, not wanting anyone to get sick. You wanted to tell him that you used to dry your hair out of the car window when you were younger, but your heart clenched at how sweet he was being. So the three of you started a movie in bed with the fan off.
Tetsuya had probably lasted the longest of you three, being the most involved in the historical drama he'd chosen for his screen time. You wanted to say you at least were the second to pass out, but the steady rise and fall of Chris' chest against your back teamed up with the hand petting your side to lull you to sleep.
Now, however, you were definitely the only one awake. Tetsuya had rolled onto his back to sleep, and somehow Chris had managed to roll the both of you over to half-pin you to the former captain. So not only were you incredibly sweaty, you were also finding it hard to breathe. But, oh, they'd both seemed so tired this week, and you couldn't bare to wake them up just to turn on the fan.
After maybe three more minutes of being broiled by your boyfriends, you quickly changed your tune. Starting off with a slow wiggle, you tried to first get out from under Chris. The boy was a lot heavier than he let show, especially when it was all dead weight pinning you to a mattress and another human being, but you found yourself determined to feel a cool breeze once more.
Before you even registered that Chris had rolled off of you and onto his back as well, a more much more daunting task snuck up on you. Tetsuya shifted in his sleep at the change in weight and wrapped his arms around you tightly, pinning you to him once more with his face buried in the crook of your neck. You froze, clenching the sheets as you tried to rehash a new plan. You know well from previous experience that the clean-up hitter's hold showed some solid evidence of just how many times he swings a bat in a day, and slipping out wouldn't be something you could accomplish without waking anybody.
But, again, the heat was chipping away at your sympathy bit by bit.
You started off trying to slide down his torso, but that was not a pleasant feeling. Next you braced your arms on the bed and tried to push off, but his hold barely budged. You heard rustling beside you and felt the bed move a bit, so you waited a moment for your next attempt. Running low on ideas and patience, you tried to roll around so you could just pry his arms away from you. Trying to take it slow, you were almost successful when you realized the breathing under you was no longer steady.
Craning your neck back a bit, you noticed Tetsuya grinning with this eyes closed.
"Are you awake?" you hissed quietly.
"Just let her up, Tetsu," you heard Chris mumble from your side.
Looking over, you saw him propped up on one arm with a sleepy smile.
"You're sadists," you declared. "Here I am trying to make sure my boyfriends don't get heatstroke in their sleep and they're trying to make me suffer."
Tetsuya chuckled and rolled you over with him, lying you back next to Chris. "Would you like the fan on?"
"You just had to ask," Chris said, running his fingers through your hair to pull it away from your neck.
You shuddered as he blew gently on the heated skin, burying your face in your pillow. "I was trying not to wake you guys up."
Tetsuya laughed softly as he got up to turn the fan on, letting it oscillate cool air through the room. You sighed as he crawled back into bed, kissing your temple before leaning over you to do the same to Chris.
"A nice 'hun please move so I can turn the fan on' will do next time," Chris mumbled, kissing the back of your neck.
You grumbled senselessly as Tetsuya reclaimed his position against you, pressing you firmer against them as their arms crossed over you. Even with the fan on now, certain areas were still too warm, but now some were getting too cold. Feeling you shiver, Chris tangles his legs with yours.
"Don't say you're cold now," he says, pulling both of you closer. "Then I'll just think you don't want to cuddle."
"We could always cuddle without you," Tetsuya says. "You can go sleep on the couch."
You pinch his side gently as you feel more than hear Chris laughing behind you.
