For Eternity

Summary:

After his death, Mikami Satoru finds himself in another world, regaining memories and powers he long forgot about.

Chapter Text

He heard a slow but steady sound. It sounded like water flowing in the distance. It was calming, soothing his tired mind. Slowly, he checked his vital functions. He could move everything. He opened his eyes and sat up, taking in his surroundings. What a curious place he was reborn in this time. When he died the last time, it was rather painful. Being stabbed was no fun at all.

He couldn't remember anything about being who he originally was while he was Satoru. But now he remembered everything and he could feel all his powers as well.

How curious. But it didn't matter. Changing into a human form he started walking. Really, his normal form was just too tall for this cave! He could feel Veldora's energy deeper inside. Since when was he so calm? He could also feel the effects of a skill around him. Did Velzard turn him into an icicle again? Surely not, it wasn't cold and it didn't seem like hers.

Which means someone else did something. He chalked it up to Veldora's behaviour.

Ah, he was right, it was not Velzard's skill. [Infinite Prison] was used against him.

"Having fun?" He asked his youngest sibling who stared at him dumbly.

Veldora started to laugh "Not at all! But more importantly, you finally decided to show yourself again!"

"Finally?" He asked confused "I shouldn't have taken that long to reappear…"

The younger scoffed "It's been 2000 years! You did take long!"

2000 years… it shouldn't take True Dragon's that long to reappear. What happened? Was it because he turned into a Chaos Dragon during his last life?

"Well, I didn't expect it to be that long. What have you been up to? That's not something your sisters did this time."

"I got sealed by a hero after I destroyed a city in my confusion!"

Confusion? More like another temper tantrum "You're going to disappear at this rate."

"I will! ...Can you get me out?"

"Why? Isn't it your own fault that you're here? Serves you right, I guess."

"Come on!"

He chuckled "Fine, fine. Under a condition."

"That would be?"

"Get your temper under control. I will send the other two your way otherwise."

"Got it! I'll control it!" He looked frightened, should he feel bad? No, as he said, it was Veldora's own fault. "What about you? Are you just going to keep announcing your presence like that?"

Veldanava pulled his energy inside him "No, I will keep it under control. You, too. I think I already gave some people heart-attacks, no need to worsen it."

"I can try, you know I'm no good at this. So what will you do now? Visit your friends? Your daughter?"

Oh "No, I wish to see how the world changed first. If it's really been so long, I need to confirm some things."

"What is there to confirm?"

"A lot of things. On that note, how are your sisters?"

"Definitely better off than me." He grumbled "But they are well from what I last heard. Still sticking around the ones you assigned them."

"Alright then. Well, let's get you out of there now." Using his analytic abilities hr neutralized the cage and supressed Veldora's energy forcefully.

"Hey!" He heard him complain "Don't restrict it so suddenly! Are you trying to make me barf?!"

"Not really. Come on, let's go."

"Like this?"

"Like this."

"...You do realize the humans will seal me again the moment they realize it's me."

"Then take on a smaller form, maybe a human."

"But I'm not good at that!"

"Neither were your sisters. It's normal to struggle but that's no reason to give up."

"Fine..." A few hours later they exited the cave, Veldora struggling a lot to keep his form together "Come to think of it, are you just going to keep walking around like this?"

"I've supressed my energy, everything is fine."

"You do realize your appearance isn't exactly screaming human, you know?"

"So?"

"Anyone with half a brain will recognize you for who you are!" Veldora stared at him for a few agonizing moments.

Veldanava lengthened his hair in response, turning it silver with a visible hue of purple in it and made himself slimmer, exchanging his outfit for another, simpler one "Is this better?"

"Too slim. The hair's too long. You look like a girl."

The older glared at him "I like it. Deal with it."

"Well, at least nobody will know who you are…"

"That's good." He thought for a moment "You know what, let's take this a step further! I already bore a few different names. So let's go with another again this time!"

"Really? What should I call you then?"

"Until I say otherwise, call me 'Rimuru Tempest'!"

He had died with Lucia, died and left behind Milim and now he died saving a friend. At least one of his deaths was of some use.

He smiled "Let's turn to a new page."
