Friday, 17 February 2012 - Age 13
Simon looked at the definitions he had on his screen. They fit. Why did they have to fit?
Aromantic and asexual. He hadn’t asked for this. He did not want to not feel attraction. He didn’t want to be denied to most intimate moments shared between two people.
He didn’t want to be denied these deep bonds.
Maybe he was just young and confused. After all, he was only 13. This could change. People in this forum said it could change. Maybe he had to wait some time until sexual attraction came up? He had only hit puberty, so it might take some time? Maybe the romance would come too?
Simon nodded to himself. That was it. He would wait.
It would change and he would be normal.
He stood up and went to the kitchen where his sister waited with dinner for him, still denying the thought that he might be aromantic and asexual.
Friday, 19 June 2015 - Age 16
“You can’t talk about this! You don’t know what love and relationships even are!” Jane blurted in his direction.
Simon gulped and swallowed the hurt away. So, this was what people called friends and allies? People who denied him his own thoughts and opinions over relationships and love? He placed a smirk on his lips, shrugged and stood up. Laura wanted to stop him but he just waved at her dismissively. He didn’t need to fight with a teenager, who denied him his right to have feelings and experiences based on his orientation.
Sunday, 25 October 2026 - Age 27
Prison was torture in itself but with the Damon Gant present it was hell. Now that the old man had been left on his own, no Debest or von Karma was left to fight with, he had found his fun to ‘discuss’ with Simon over several topics. Simon was not sure why he was still answering
“Just tell me, Quilly Boy”, he singsang behind him as the walked back to their cells, “what is the fun in life when you do not date around, hm? What’s life without a lady or man?
This aromantic thing can’t truly be real, can it? You must just have been shy or prude. Why else go with such a stupid label? Or what reason might you have otherwise? Come on enlighten me, do an old man a-”
Simon turned and grabbed him on the collar. He would get in solitary for this but he could not bring himself to care. Violently he jerked up to Gant’s wrinkly face and hissed at him: “It’s none of your fucking business, Gant! Neither do I need to tell you why I didn’t date around nor does it have anything to do with my freaking orientation!
I do not need to enlighten you about my relationships nor why I didn’t choose to date and fuck around like a goddamn rabbit! This is my own decision and if you can’t imagine life to be meaningful without anybody at your side, you’re the one who’s fucking sick!
Your opinion of my life and my choices means nothing to me but your right to police and judge over my orientation are d e n i e d.”
