Chapter 1: Dance is Hard. Admitting is Even Harder. [Jihope]

Chapter Text

“Step one, two- step one, two- step one, two-” Hoseok mumbles, moving his right foot in front of the left and stepping backwards with said left, attempting to not fumble over himself.

He’d been having some trouble picking up the new choreography, his feet not following his brain’s instruction.

He just couldn’t get it.

Hoseok would never admit it to the other members though.

He couldn’t.

They look up to him when it comes to dance.

He remembers back to their trainee days, even today when Seokjin or Namjoon would come to him, so frustrated with their dancing they looked about ready to cry.

Hoseok couldn’t have his hyungs and best friends feeling that way.

He had to stay strong for them, they look up to him.

He can’t let them down.

Hoseok is in the middle of a tempo increase when he trips over his own foot and tumbles face first into the floor.

Hoseok covers his face with his hands and lets out a frustrated scream, curling into himself.

He sits up, chest heaving.

“Hoseok hyung?” a voice rings out.

Hoseok whips his head in the direction of the voice and is met with soft blonde hair, belonging to that of Jimin.

“Are you okay?” the younger asks.

Hoseok attempts to shake his head yes but instead it shakes from side to side, a silent ‘no.’
Jimin’s eyes soften when he sees Hoseok’s begin to water with tears.

“Hobi hyung…” he says softly, carefully as he makes a step towards the distressed boy.

“No!” Hoseok calls out, sniffling, attempting to prevent the tears from flowing.

“Don’t come closer…” he weakly calls.

Jimin stops in his tracks, cocking his head at the elder. The same oh so Jimin smile plastered on his face.

“It’s okay hyung, you can cry, let it all out” he comforts, from a distance.

That’s all Hoseok needed to let go.

Suddenly Hoseok bursts into tears, wailing loudly.

“I-I’m just so- so frustrated!” he yells, hiccuping.

Jimin quickly moves from his place, despite Hoseok’s protests.

without a single word, he gathers Hoseok into his arms and cradles him in between his legs.

letting out another sob, Hoseok grips Jimin’s forearms for dear life.

“It’s okay hyung, we all have bad days, it’s okay to let it out, it’s okay” he repeats, kissing the crown of Hoseok’s head.

“You don’t need to be strong in front of me, Hobi hyung.”

Hoseok freezes at this.

He didn’t know how, but Jimin knew. He knew why Hoseok never came to the members before.

“Thank you, Jimin.” He mumbles, melting back into Jimin’s embrace.

Jimin smiles softly, nuzzling his nose into Hoseok’s hair.

“You never need to thank me hyung, I love you.”

“I love you too, Jimin.”
