Summary:

From a prompt by writing.prompt.s on Instagram.

"There is a beautiful statue of a person in the middle of a large city, and the rumor surrounding the statue is that when they touch hands with their soulmate, they will become human. Naturally, it becomes a perfect photo and video opportunity to pose while holding its hand.

One cute selfie attempt results in an empty statue podium and you just barely catching a very confused person in your arms."

Or the fic where Jisung just wanted to look at art but ended up with a pretty man in his arms.

Chapter Text

“Bro! Let’s go! We have more things to look at!” Felix exclaimed as he fast walked ahead of Jisung. They just had lunch, but the man always had a surplus of energy, so it wasn’t surprising seeing him practically bouncing off his feet.

Jisung just smiled at his friend, “Where to next anyway? Mr. I’m-an-amazing-navigator,” he laughed as his friend glared at him. Felix stopped walking to look at his phone and smiled “It looks like we’ll be going to the main attraction now, this’ll be amazing!” his friend answered while taking Jisung’s hand to drag him to their destination.

They were currently at a town in the outskirts of Gimpo, a place known for its’ history and majestic art. It used to be called District 9, however long ago that was.

They were going around the place to finish their pair project for their art class, where they had to admire different kinds of art from a place they picked through a lottery and write a paper about it. They had five destinations in total, and this was the last one, considering Felix just called it the main attraction.

They walked hand in hand towards the centre of the town plaza. It wasn’t busy at this time of day, and since it’s a small town most of the people milling about were either tourists or locals selling merchandise.

There in the plaza was their so-called “Main-attraction,” a statue of a young man, made of metal and said to be made at-least a hundred years ago. Jisung looked at the statue it was breath taking, sure he’d seen photos of it, but the real thing is ten times better.

The statue had so much detail it was amazing Jisung was even able to notice it even from far away. Its hair was lifelike as though it’s waving in the wind, its facial features depict that of a handsome man, everything about it was just exquisite. But it’s pose was unique to say the least, one hand had its’ thumb up while the other was doing a peace sign, like his photo was just being taken.

He was staring at the statue when a group of girls neared it, nine of them to be exact, each one of them holding a part of the statue, some less appropriate than others.

Jisung cringed as the ensemble laughed while having their picture taken, each one of them taking turns in holding the statue’s crotch.

The man taking their picture gave them a small smile as he counted down.

Jisung brought his focus back to the statue. It was very odd to say the least, made of metal, no known maker, weird pose, it wasn’t even on a podium, considering that it’s practically a historical site in the town. But it was understandable if one knew about the legend surrounding it.

When the town was still a district there lived a man that they would call the ‘prince’. This person, though not actually royalty, was called as such because he was the fairest in not only their district, but in the whole of Korea.

Many travelled far and wide to just get a glimpse of his beauty. He also had many suitors of different genders, but alas the man never fell in love with any of them.

This greatly saddened the man. He was loved by many but he himself never fell for anyone. So, he decided to go to a witch to solve his problem.

He begged the witch to help him and the witch agreed stating that it will do anything to help the man, with the payment that when he is finally able to find love, he will give his soul to the witch. The man agrees not thinking of the consequences.

The witch then used a spell to find the man’s true love, but sadly the god of love was not in favour of him for his fated was to be born in a different era all together.

The man struck with grief asked the witch to do something about it, the witch complied, and thus the statue now resides in the centre of town.

It is said that the only way to bring the man back was for his soulmate to touch the statue.

Jisung was just thinking about how unbelievable the legend was when he felt someone tap his shoulder, he turned to see Felix smiling at him, “Sungah, that guy over there said he that he can take our picture,” Felix points at the man that took the photos of the girls before them.

The man was looking at them and waved them over, as they neared Jisung noticed the white cat slinking around the man’s legs.

“Hi, I’m Jimin, and this cute little kitty here is Suga” the man says with a smile as the cat meows and looks at Jisung, “Your friend over here said that you wanted to have your picture taken?”

“Ah yeah, thanks for that, I’m Jisung by the way, cute cat,” He crouches to the ground trying to touch the cat, but it just hisses at him and hides behind Jimin.

“He’s a little shy don’t worry,” Jimin laughs, Felix then hands over his phone, saying how he’d want a solo shot first before they get a group photo, even asking Jimin to ‘get his good side’.

Jimin just giggles and proceeds to take a picture of Felix.

Felix had decided to do many poses, one where he’s copying the man, the next he’s practically straddling it, and many more outrageous ones.

As his pictures were taken Jimin started talking about the statue, how it was said to be made (he just explained the legend), and how it was really helpful to their dying economy.

“Oh, I forgot to mention, his name is Minho,” Jimin says in passing as he takes another one of Felix’s photos. “He has a name? I thought nothing else was known about him?” Jisung confused just looks at the man next to him.

“Well yeah, people have names, and Minho is a person mind you, so obviously he’d have a name, silly boy,”

Jisung was about to reply when Felix suddenly back hugged him, “Sungah, it’s your turn, be sure to make it pretty, or not, more memes for me I guess.” His friend pushes him towards the statue.

He just looked back defeated and headed towards the statue.

It was a lot more extravagant up close; all the details truly show a beautiful man and it, no, he was just breathtaking.

“Jisung stop ogling the man and take the picture first! I know he's absolutely Marbleous” Felix shouted, he looked back to see Jimin giggling beside him, with the cat now laying there looking bored

“Felix it’s made of metal, I swear do you even listen in class.” Jisung ranted, his face flushed as he started posing for the camera. He put his arm around the statue and was about to make a peace sign, when the sleek cool of the statue was replaced with a fleshy softness to it.

The statue fell, but luckily enough Jisung caught it in his arms just int time.

No, it wasn’t a statue, Jisung brain tried to process, it was a man.

A man that he had just looked at.

It was Minho.
