Chapter 1: Being this sweet must be bad for health

Chapter Text

"Hey, I've something to tell you…" Jimin pulled at the sleeve of Jin's shirt bashfully.

"Whatever you do, you know it's still a no right?" He replied briskly, continuing his work.

"But you haven't even heard my confession this time, it's really realllllly good," Jimin pouted some more.

He whipped out a piece of paper, reading it out with as much emotion as possible, Jin barely nodding along.

"When I looked at the city lights yesterday; when I started at the vibrant nightlife/ I realised/ You're all I need in life/ Your eyes glimmer so bright/ You are my sunshine, you are my light."

"That's actually pretty good." Jin admitted, his hands dancing along the keyboard, typing out the latest report for his boss Namjoon.

"Mhm?" Jimin's eyes shone like an overexcited puppy's, egging him on to continue.

"Save it for someone else," Jin suggested.

"Hyungggggggg!"

~

"I'm home," Jin slipped his shoes off and entered the living room to see Jungkook playing Overwatch.

"Mum, I'm hungry," Jungkook complained, never taking his eyes away from the screen.

"You're right, I'm your mum. Forever taking care of you." Jin nagged, plodding into the kitchen to check what ingredients were available.

"Hey Jin, tell me about the latest one. It happened again, didn't it?" Jungkook brought Jimin's confessions up by way of conversation.

"Why would you like to hear about it anyway," Jin asked, getting milk out of the fridge.

"Ah, Jimin-hyung seems romantic," Jungkook selected a hero to play with.

"And you never call me hyung," Jin muttered under his breath while cracking an egg.

~

It was a Sunday, and for some reason despite it being only 6.30am the phone rang, shattering the peace in the Kim household.

Jungkook, with the room closest to the landline, zombied his way out of his room to pick the offensive phone up.

"What."

"Good morning hyung! My love for you/ like violets are blue/ it's just so clear/ won't you love me too?" Jimin chirped.

"Uh." Jungkook's brain short-circuited, and for a minute he thought the confession was for him. "I'll call him over."

"Yeah, but no." Jin put down the phone with a resigned sigh.

"Jimin's really clingy, isn't he?" Jungkook offered.

"He's a good friend… and apparently, cheesy too," Jin replied.

For some reason, the thing that ran through Jungkook's mind was *I don't mind cheese*.

~

Namjoon was chill. Namjoon was cool headed. Namjoon always had a clear mind.

Apparently, it didn't apply whenever his employee was around, though.

God, this was embarrassing.

"Could you update me on the situation of the sales of… uh…" Namjoon ran both hands through his hair, messing it all up. Not that it was very neat to begin with.

"This product?" Jin raised it up, waving the thermos flask in front of him.

Namjoon nodded, trying his best to look attentive, when all his attention was fixed on trying to look attentive, and not being actually attentive.

"Let's just say it's not all as hot with the customers as the water inside it is." Jin was hot. Jin did his signature windshield wiper laugh and Namjoon felt his heart literally skip a beat.

He surreptitiously brought his hand to his neck to feel for his pulse.

Actually, he didn't need to. He could feel the blood pumping through his body at a rapid rate that was most definitely not normal.

Ah, but employee-boss relationships weren't normal either, especially when there was already Jimin chasing him.

Namjoon shook his head slightly to get the thoughts out of his head, catching Jin's attention.

"Um, right, thank you! Uh yeah bye." Namjoon saw him out of his office, groaning internally at Jin's confusion.

He felt like he would explode in any setting where Jin was even mentioned. The only way to get out should be to avoid Jin altogether. But Jin didn't deserve to be fired, nor ignored.

Jin was like junk food- so unhealthy, but so so good. He just couldn't stay away. Namjoon was cream from Starbucks: whipped.

He groaned out loud this time.

~

Jimin decided to take drastic action. He turned up at the Kim household at 7.30am, bearing a bouquet of white carnations and banana milk.

Jin decided to take drastic action. He accepted the banana milk. He did not accept Jimin's 107th confession.

"How about if you can't get me to agree by the end of 100 days, you'll go find some other object to obsess over," Jin placed his hand on his head rather awkwardly, petting it a few times before turning Jimin around and finally getting him to leave.

"See you later!" Jimin called.

Jungkook didn't even know Jimin that well. But he didn't really want to. Judging by how he acted for the past two days, he thought he might turn saturated with all of Jimin's thoughtful sweetness had they become friends. Or even closer than that.

Jungkook decided to take drastic action. He would stop helping Jin to answer Jimin's phone calls and open the door. It had to be unhealthy to come into such close contact with a person this sweet.

~

To celebrate the company's fifth anniversary, they were going to hold an employee party.

If this wasn't a sort of tradition, Namjoon would do all in his power to stop it somehow.

Not that he didn't like parties.

Maybe he slightly didn't like parties?

He was a simple man. He liked crabs. He liked Seokjin. He did not like eating crabs while watching Seokjin be chatted up by 8 different men at once at a party.

So when Seokjin decided he wouldn't go for the party, he heaved some sort of sigh in relief.

Why was he relieved. He had just relinquished his own opportunity to bond with Jin as well.

Not that it mattered, did it?

He was so confuzzled. It was like being in a love maze, not knowing which way to turn.

All he knew was to get caught up in it, until he was completely lost in this love maze.
