Work Text:
Shinso Hitoshi is used to grey.
To him, everything is dull, colorless, bland. He doesn't mind, after all, it's his world.
And it's comfortable, the grey.
He doesn't know better.
He doesn't know until his dim lighted world is illuminated by a spark of color. He hears him before he sees him.
A laugh.
It's loud. It's warm.
But most of all, it's bright.
It's the first hint of color he thinks he's ever seen, and he can't help but to look up. If the laugh was bright the owner was blinding.
Shinso has to squint to really see him, and when he does, he can't look away. In the midst of all his grey, this person was positively glowing.
Bright golden yellow.
The first color he's ever known.
And already, he knows, it's the best and only color he'll ever want to see.
