Work Text:

“Katsuki, smile!” You yelled over at your husband. He currently had a bored expression on his face as he held his son on his lap, posing for the picture you were trying to take. Katsuki stuck his tongue out at you in response and you giggled, now making your husband smile. You snapped a couple of pictures and put your phone away, getting up and going over to your small family. Your son started making grabby hands towards you and you cooed and took him from Katsuki, now snuggling into your son and kissing his cheek.

Your husband put his hand on your lower back and lead you through the crowd of people in the park, noticing that his son had dug his head into your shoulder, obviously not enjoying the large crowd of people. Katsuki felt bad that there was nothing he could really do, even though he cared and loved his son, it was hard at times since he was always working and you were the one that was always around. What made Katsuki feel even worse was that his son looked exactly like him, ash blonde hair, and the same crimson eyes. If anyone were to put a picture of Katsuki when he was younger and compared it to his son, they would probably get mistaken for the same person. There were times when Katsuki would talk to you and express the calamity he felt, but you would always smile and tell him that you understood and you’d reassure him and tell him that your son loved him and would always ask about his dad.

“I’m gonna go to the bathroom.” You said turning to Katsuki, you smiled and handed him your son, Katsuki took him with a small smile and watched you disappear in the crowd. Bakugou started walking over to the nearest bench and sitting your son down before he sat down too.

“Mommy.” Your son said, Bakugou turned his head and stared down at the child and furrowed his brows.

Katsuki scoffed, “Do you ever leave that woman alone?” Even though he was teasing he couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy and guilt. Your son just looked up at him and blinked in confusion, even though the child didn’t really talk that much he knew he was smart; Katsuki always made sure to read him a story before bed and always made time to teach his son how to be the best. Katsuki continued to stare down, his face now softening, “You know I love you.” He said as he patted his son’s head and smiled. Katsuki felt tears form in his eyes as his son smiled up at him, knowing that he loved him too.

Katsuki was brought out of his thoughts when he heard a yell, he thought it sounded familiar but wasn’t particularly sure. Maybe you were looking for him? He knew you could call, but your phone was probably dead from taking so many pictures.

Katsuki picked up his son from the bench, “Come on, mommy’s probably looking for us.” Katsuki was glad that the crowd had now died down as he made his way to where the public restrooms were. He tried to locate where he heard you yell but you were nowhere to see seen, he walked past the restrooms and looked towards the fountain sitting in the center of the park.

When Katsuki saw you his eyes went wide, he felt himself get hot with anger as he started to jog to you, and the stranger you were with. When he got closer he could feel the uncomfortable aroma that vibrated off of you, he felt like he was going to explode with anger as the stranger kept touching you in inappropriate places. He could hear you plead with the stranger to leave you alone and that you were with your husband and that he ‘wouldn’t be happy’ about this; and ‘wasn’t happy about it’ was an understatement. Katsuki knew you could handle this yourself, but he also knew you didn’t want to make a scene in front of random strangers. Katsuki couldn’t help but become infuriated and slightly jealous. Katsuki set his son down on the ground and moved to face you and the stranger, now pulling you both apart.

“What the hell do you think you're doing?” Katsuki threatened. Although you liked to believe he got more mellow through the years, he completely never got over his anger. There would be times where he would let his anger get to the best of him no matter how hard he tried to suppress it, this time was one of those times where he couldn’t let it go.

Now that you were out of harms way from the stranger you went to your son, letting him latch onto your leg and burying his face into your skin. You continued to watch your husband defend you from the stranger. Katsuki was holding the stranger by their shirt collar and had his fist pulled back, ready to strike at any time. You felt thankful that your husband got there in time to save you from the stranger’s advantages, but you felt embarrassment crawl up your body that he was screaming in the park in front of others and your son. You knew you had to do something to stop him from doing something he’d regret.

You picked up your son and walked over and put your hand on Katsuki’s shoulder, he jumped, surprised since he was engrossed in the thoughts of ripping the stranger apart. He glanced over at you and his eyes immediately softened, his intimidating composer turning more gentle.

“Katsuki, stop, it’s fine,” You smiled, “Let’s just go home.” You tugged a bit on his free arm, trying to get him to follow you and your son out of the park and to the car. Katsuki glanced back at the stranger, who now looked terrified, and then glanced back at you. He slowly let go of the stranger and pushed them, telling them to never lay a finger on another person before turning around and taking you by the hand and leading you and his son out of the park, still fuming from past events.

“I can’t believe they touched you like that,” He shook his head as you both stood in the parking lot. Katsuki sighed, “I’m sorry, I went overboard.” He hugged you and buried his head into your neck in shame, hoping that you’d forgive him for overreacting.

You giggled, “It’s fine. Thanks for saving me.” You kissed the top of his head in praise.

Katsuki smirked as you stroked his ego, obviously liking the praise that he protected you from a creepy stranger. He pulled away from you and kissed your sons head, wanting to give your toddler an explanation about what happened. Katsuki made an overexaggerated hero pose and pretended to fight people, “Someday you’re going to have to be the one to save mommy from villains, but for right now I’m the one who is protecting you both, okay?” He laughed and ruffled his son's hair, making the child giggle, obviously happy his dad was playing the hero of the ‘story’.

You sighed happily, playing along with was Katsuki was telling your son, “My hero!” You latched onto Katsuki’s arm as he walked you both to the car. Your son started to stir in your arms and started to gravitate more towards his dad now, you stared down at your son in shock and handed him over to Katsuki, which he took the child happily into his arms.

Katsuki made an ‘O’ face at you, surprised that your son was choosing him rather than his mother. You both walked in silence until your son started to point at Katsuki and chant, “Hero.” You giggled at the cute nickname your son gave your husband, while Katsuki felt like he was about to melt into mush.

“I think he’s finally warming up to you,” You teased, lightly brushing up against Katsuki.

“He’s not wrong.” Katsuki laughed, hugging his son as tight as he could.
