The Goddess Kate lived alone in a quiet, peaceful universe. As she looked about her, she saw quiet beauty. A gentle light filled the empty sky, the ground below was void of nothing but fields of soft grass.
As much as she loved her peaceful home, she longed for love and family.
But if no one was around but her, what could she do?
The peaceful goddess closed her eyes.
"If only there was someone who could create life... beings for me to share my love with..." she thought, with a lonely sigh.
She sat and thought a little more.
"But if someone creates life... eventually that life will die... someone will need to take care of that, too..." She continued.
Her long pigtails waved with the gentle wind as she thought more of having a family and a real world full of living beings to watch over and love.
When she finally opened her eyes, she blinked. Once, twice, again. She removed the glasses she wore upon her face and rubbed her eyes before putting them back on.
Far in the distance, two figures stood.
Cautiously, the goddess stood and approached them.
"Who are you? Where did you come from?" She called to them.
"You created us," said one, who appeared male.
"Yes," agreed the other, who appeared female.
"I created you? How?" the goddess questioned.
"Your strong emotions and desire for love and family brought us into the world. I am here to create life for you," the first explained.
"And I am here to take care of that life while it grows, changes, and eventually dies," explained the second.
The goddess Kate smiled at her two creations. She had no idea she even held such power!
She pointed at the first. "Then, you are the God of Creation and Life." She turned, and pointed to the second. "And you are the Goddess of Change and Death." She gestured to herself. "And I am Kate, the Goddess of Love and Peace."
The three beings exchanged bows in greeting.
For the first time in her endless existence, Kate felt happiness.
