Avdol didn’t react to his name being called until something threw him to the ground. He looked around, searching for Polnareff, the man who called him out.
“Polnareff?”
No response but a low metal rattle on the floor that catched Avdol's attention.
There, on the stone ground, laid Polnareff's red earrings. Avdol moved his head around, panicking, trying to find another explanation to the man's disappearance.
"Polnareff!?" His heart pounded heavily "If you're joking it's not fun-"
Then he saw him, finishing the remaining body of his lover.
His eyes blazed in rage and his throat exploded in a painful scream, burning the stand user to death, tears running down his cheeks.
He stopped when there was nothing but a silver haired man covered in ashes with missing legs.
"Polnareff!" He ran up to him and cradled him in his arms. He searched for his pulse, and let out a whimper when he found nothing but cold skin under his fingers.
"Jean Pierre… Jean Pierre…" He closed his eyes, tears falling down his face as he held Polnareff closer to his chest.
Avdol sobbed as he called his name again and again, again, no response. "It should have been me… I died for you once, I'm used to it"
