Work Text:
With the whole civil war going on, Grian and Doc felt that they had to be more secretive about their relationship than they were before. It's not like before they had been open about it in the past, or would hold hands where people might be able to see them, it just meant they found themselves sneaking around a lot more. This time, Doc was trying to make his way unnoticed into the G Team base, which was frankly rather easy when no one else was around and the whole place was poorly defended.
He made his way down their elevator to the basement once he was inside the building. He wasn't actually too sure if Grian would be here, but it was where he usually spent most of his time nowadays.
His suspicions were confirmed by the gentle beat of music in a room down the ravine-like area.
He followed the sound, until he could make out the lyrics of the song. It repeated one word over: hermitgang. Doc snorted, and covered his mouth to hold in a laugh. He made his way through the door of the room the music was coming from, and sure enough Grian was there working and listening to music like he usually did.
Doc silently approached Grian from behind, then placed his hands on his hips. "Boo," he whispered. Grian turned around and held up a fist as if to punch him, then relaxed when he saw Docs face.
"Don't do things like that!" Grian gently slapped Docs arm, who laughed.
"Sorry, it's irresistible. You just get so lost in your work and it makes you so easy to scare..." He brought a hand up and caressed the back of Grians head. "Good music choice, by the way."
"Hm?" Grian tilted his head slightly, then his eyes widened when he fully realized what song was playing at the moment. He pulled himself out of Docs arms and bolted to his jukebox to eject the disc.
"Aw c'mon, why'd you have to stop it?"
"This doesn't mean anything! I just need background music, and this disc just so happened to be lying around!"
"G," Doc stepped over to him and took his hand. "It's okay. I understand."
"You probably do the same type of thing anyways, so this isn't a victory for you, okay?"
Doc laughed again, but it made Grian shiver this time. "Okay, okay. I get it."
Grian let go of his hand so he could wrap his arms around Docs midsection.
Doc put a hand on Grians lower back and the other behind his head. "I can't believe I just caught you listening to my teams diss track against you guys. What if your whole team found out their precious leader secretly supported the enemy?"
Grian seemed to consider this for a few seconds. "The only enemy I'm supporting is you."
"Ouch, I'm your enemy?"
Grian reached up and pressed their lips together for a brief moment. "You are. You're a menace, really."
"You still love me, though?"
Grian grinned up at Doc. "Yeah."
"Good, because I love you too." Doc pulled Grian up against him and gave him a quick squeeze. "And also, one more thing."
"Mhm?" Grian mumbled.
Docs voiced dropped to just above a whisper. "I'm going to win this war."
