The moon was full and beautiful that night. The night wasn't too cold, just the right temperature to lounge outside and relax. It was the perfect night for admiring the nighttime sky. There were only a few wisps of clouds floating across the sky, leaving a perfect view.
Kogitsunemaru ran his fingers along the length of his silky white hair, then brushed his comb through it, smoothing out nonexistent tangles. Maybe the excessive combing of his already perfectly smooth hair wasn't necessary, but the repeated motion was comforting to him. He was lost in his own world, gazing up at the stars and moon. If it hadn't been for his keen hearing, he wouldn't have noticed the soft pattering of bare feet against the floorboards, approaching him from behind. He glanced up, and his breath caught in his throat.
This was the first time he’d gotten to properly look at the newly summoned sword. Juzumaru, he'd heard his name was. Long curls of black hair that turned into white cascaded down the length of his body, just centimeters away from touching the floor. His head was free of any ornamentation, and he was dressed in a simple, light robe, ideal for sleeping on a warm night like this. He held a little basket in his hands, full of toiletries and the like. Kogitsunemaru’s eyes flitted up to his face as he began to speak.
“Excuse me,” Juzumaru murmured, bowing just a bit out of politeness. “I do not mean to interrupt… Which direction is the washroom in?”
Kogitsunemaru was fixated on his face. Delicate lips, graced lightly with lipstick. He was sure they were incredibly soft, and found himself imagining how nice kissing this man would feel. His eyes were gentle, resting shut. His eyelids were adorned with a gorgeous shade of vivid purple. His pale skin was practically glowing under the moonlight.
He was beautiful.
Kogitsunemaru had to tear his gaze away from the other man’s face in order to respond, pretending to be distracted by fiddling with his comb as he replied. “Continue down two more doors, and it’s the final door on the corner.”
Juzumaru’s lips turned into a small smile, and he bowed again. “Thank you,” he passed by Kogitsunemaru, then paused. “Ah. My name is Juzumaru Tsunetsugu, by the way. Thank you for the assistance.”
Kogitsunemaru swallowed a bit. “Yeah…” He found himself staring once more. “Kogitsunemaru. It’s no problem.” He offered a smile in return.
“Ah, I see. It’s nice to meet you.” He offered the tiniest bit more of a smile, and began down the walkway again. “Have a good rest of your night.”
“You too,” Kogitsunemaru said in return, watching him walk away. All the way down to the way he walked, he was beautiful. Graceful, elegant.
Once he was out of sight, Kogitsunemaru let out a long sigh and brought his hand to his chest.
No one else had ever made him feel quite like that at first sight.
