I'm Already Winning By Having You

Summary:

Kirishima asks to sit on Bakugou's lap. Fluff ensues.

Notes:

Hey! Back with another fic, I guess. This one is kinda short tho. I have had this scenario in my head for weeks! I honestly used it with every ship I could think of, but I like this one best. I might do a part two (or separate story) about the pda crisis thing. I keep smiling at the thought of Bakugou trying to handle that. I was also trying to figure out who to ship who with who, and accidentally stumbled upon BakuJirou and WHAT?!?! I had no idea that ship existed. I wanna look more into it. I kinda think they’d be better friends though. Anyways, lemme stop boring you. On with the fic!

Work Text:

It was yet again, the recurrence of every week, on Saturday, at 9 PM sharp, where Bakugou, Ashido, Midoriya, and Kaminari would battle to death in Mario Kart.

Kirishima didn’t really care for video games, but Bakugou did. That was the only reason he ever stayed up to watch them play. And maybe to wait for his boyfriend to finish to get cuddles.

Kirishima was still feeling a bit rocky (no pun intended I swear) after the emotional crisis he had just had hours before.

He always knew Bakugou was never one for PDA, or to show much affection at all at times, but for some reason, tonight the love gods somehow cursed him into having a mental breakdown about Bakugou and his tendency to not ‘show his love’ for him.

Of course, they had sorted it out. Bakugou said that he would try to step out of his comfort zones for him. Kirishima promised to talk to Bakugou if he ever had a problem they needed to talk out.

Now, Kirishima was sitting on the armrest of the sofa, next to Bakugou. He was sitting next to Ashido, who was sitting next to Midoriya, who was sitting next to Kaminari. Most of class 1A came down to watch the competition, too. Jirou was leaning on Kaminari’s legs, Iida was talking to Uraraka about Friday’s homework, and the rest were in the kitchen making popcorn. Ashido was also leaning onto Midoriya, letting him rant about heroes.

Kirishima smiled at that. It was so manly on how they were so open with their releationship. I wish Katsuki and I could be like tha- wait no! I can’t say things like that. Besides, we already talked.

“Okay guys, who’s ready for some fun?” Kaminari asked, popping in the game. He had been declared our ‘host’ after Bakugou had gotten in a fight with Ashido over who had gotten to be the announcer.

The game then started. Kirishima looked around, bored. Wait… since we talked, maybe I could try something???

Kirishima pulled out his phone, texting Bakugou instead to talking out loud. He didn’t want to overwhelm him or embarrass himself.

‘Can I sit on your lap?’ Kirishima texted Bakugou.

Ding.

Bakugou looked down for 5 seconds, before going back to the game.

Kirishima frowned. Katsuki had to have seen it, right? I mean, he could have just said no, like, out loud, right? Nobody would have even noticed.

Tears started to brim at his eyes, but he quickly brushed them away. He’s uncomfortable, remember?

A cheer brought him out of his thoughts.

“IN YOUR FACE, SUCKERS!” Bakugou cheered.

Kirishima smiled, not noticing the pair of arms reaching out around his waist.

“Eep!” Kirishima squeaked (a sound even he didn’t know he could make), when he felt himself getting pulled to the right. He landed in a soft cushion, in which he realized, was Bakugou’s lap.

Kirishima smiled, getting more comfortable in his boyfriend’s arms. He felt something hard being pushed into his hand.

“Wanna play?” Bakugou whispered, in which Kirishima realized the hard thing being shoved into his hand was a controller.

“Um, sure? But I don’t know how to play…” Kirishima said nervously.

“I’ll help you,” Bakugou said, laying his hands atop Kirishima’s, maneuvering his fingers to the right buttons.

“I, uh, okay.”

Bakugou helped Kirishima win his first round, and then the next, and the one after. Soon, Kirishima was winning all by himself.

“This is so unfair, Bakugou! Can’t you just-“ Ashido started saying, but was cut off when Aizawa turned on the lights.

“Go to bed. It’s a school night,” he grumbled. A chorus of Aww!’s proceded, but a stern glare got everybody getting ready to leave.

“Hey, wait!” Ashido said, looking at Kirishima still sitting in Bakugou’s lap, holding the remote.

Everyone turned to look at them.

“Aww!” Midoriya said, while holding Ashido’s hand.

“Get a room!” Kaminari joked.

“Wait, why do you have the controller?” Sero asked, pointing out that Kirishima was indeed holding it.

“Remember when I slipped on a banana?” Bakugou asked, looking smug. “Well, that wasn’t me. Or any of it after.”

“WHAT?” everyone that had been playing, yelped.

“But you don’t know how to play!” Ashido said, demanding an explanation.

“Well, Katsuki may have helped me. I got better at it, though!” Kirishima said, determiningly.

Before anyone else could ask any other questions, Aizawa yelled at them to go to bed.

Everyone slowly filed out. Aizawa glanced back at Bakugou and Kirishima still sitting on the couch, but said nothing and left.

“So? How did I do?” Kirishima asked, whipping around and straddling Bakugou towards his chest.

“Good. You want a reward?” Bakugou asked, a mischievous smirk upon his lips.

“Yes, please.”
