Chapter Text
It was all because of love. We do things we never thought we’d do because we are blinded by it – a feeling that is like an explosive bomb that would blow up anytime and wreck your whole existence.
Jimin’s gunshot wound wasn’t that deep. In fact, it was like the bullet just passed through his skin which made him bleed. The only thing that made his condition worse was because of his head injury that led to a coma. Jimin had a few stitches but all in all, he was perfectly fine. His arm cast was removed and the only thing left was the bandage because of the gunshot wound on his shoulder and facial his expression is still blank. He kept his head down as they go out of the hospital room with two police on his both sides.
Adora was half-running, trying to keep up with the policemen and continuously shouting “Please, just let me talk to him!” but they aren’t listening. “The doctors didn’t even agreed to discharge him yet!”
Tons of flashing cameras welcomed them when they reached the lobby. News reporters were also thirsty for answers and details they need to write. Security made way for the policemen and Jimin outside of the hospital.
“A serial killer is now in the hands of the authority.”
“Drug dealer and a murderer. A man named Park Jimin is now arrested after years of hiding behind his mask, concealing the truth about his identity.”
A tear suddenly fell from Jimin’s eyes as he entered the police car, feeling helpless and weak. No, it wasn’t because of those news reporters stating facts – which he already knew in the first place – but because he’s still waiting for that certain person to come.
Two sides of his mind were arguing. Whether he’ll make a move for vengeance or he’ll just wait like a princess waiting for his prince charming or a knight in shining armor to arrive.
He felt disgusted for the latter.
Jimin’s head was down low when they entered a secluded cell in the police station. The only light that can only be seen is from a light bulb hanging right above them – him and the chief of police.
“Do you feel guilty of what you did in the past?” The Chief asked. “You killed numerous people without you getting tracked. What a wise man.”
Still, Jimin was silent. He doesn’t care what that old man standing right in front of him thinks. All he thinks about right now is how he’ll deal with criminals once he’s inside the jail. Surely, the morgue will be packed. But Jimin also thought of something—he’ll be satisfied killing people who annoyed him but he won’t be satisfied because those are not the person that caused him so much pain.
The Chief leaned forward to get a good view of Jimin who is helplessly sitting on a wooden chair. Both of his hands were on top of the table separating their bodies. “Tell me, where’s your boss? The one that operates with you in your drug dealing business.”
“I don’t know.”
The Chief let out a mocking laugh and went near Jimin. A loud sound of a slap echoed inside the four corners of the room. The Chief breathed heavily as he saw an emotionless Jimin.
“Are you hurt because of that slap, huh? You ruthless punk,” the Chief just eyed the younger.
“I’ve been drained for so long, I’ve been hurt for months and that is ten times more painful than your fucking old hand—“
Jimin’s jaw was shaking when he felt another hand land near his lip. Now, it’s bleeding. He tried spitting the blood and gave the old man a death glare.
“I’ll make sure you’ll pay for everything that you did. It is an act punishable by law and you cannot hide from now on.” The Chief took a step back to go out of the room but before he does, he heard Jimin’s voice.
“Before you punish me with your law, I would like to spoil you a detail that is surely not reported to you. All of those people I killed? They aren’t that innocent. Just be thankful that I killed those dickheads rather than stuffing them here in jail. Thanks to me, detainees doesn’t look like sardines because they aren’t packed.”
The Chief got even more furious. Instead of hitting him again, he ordered two policemen to make sure Jimin will eventually be behind bars before midnight.
Jimin shifted on his seat and rested on the chair. He leaned on the table hands still locked with handcuffs, he rested his arms above the wooden table and tilted his head, watching both of the police with bored eyes.
“Why don’t you just kill me now, just like what I did with those people? I’m useless, anyway. You knew about me and our business. Why don’t you just end me instead?” Jimin blurted out.
“We will wait for the higher ranks’ orders. And you will be in court probably in a few days.” One of the police said.
Jimin was about to stand from his seat and engage with the two but he head the door open. Both of his eyes shifted on the person who entered, wearing a black jacket, jeans, and black inner shirt with a cap. Jimin narrowed his eyes when the man who just entered reached for his wallet and showed an identification card.
“I’m here for investigations. Please leave us alone. Me and the suspect only,” a cold baritone echoed which made Jimin froze on his seat.
Slowly, the man in black showed his face. His jaw is clenching at the sight of Park Jimin in handcuffs, looking like a mess, and blood dripping from his lip.
The two policemen looked at each other, not expecting an investigator this early. One of the police just nodded and said, “Fifteen minutes.”
When the two police went out and closed the door for privacy concerns of the investigator, a complete silence took place. No one dared to speak.
“Why are you here?” Jimin asked coldly.
His blood is boiling. Right now, he doesn’t even know what to feel. Pain, anger, frustration, excitement, or happiness. He even bit his lower lip to control his tears that are about to fall right in front of the person who broke him.
“I came here to see you.”
“That’s bullshit.”
Jungkook took a step to get near him but Jimin spoke, “Don’t you even dare come near me.”
Both of them were trying their best not to cry. Seeing Jungkook’s bloodshot eyes made him feel even weaker. It was a torture for Jimin.
“B-baby, I can explain—“
“I waited for you, Jeon Jungkook! You lied to me! You betrayed me and shoved your lies in my face the whole fucking time and now you’re here to see me? And then what? Tell G-Dragon in his grave that it’s finally a game over for me?!”
“Listen to me...” Jungkook kept his calm and rolled his hand into a fist.
“You even shot me because that motherfucker told you to do so!”
Jungkook had enough. He held both of Jimin’s shoulders. He made sure that he won’t get a grip on his wound. “I told you to listen to me.”
The younger stared at Jimin’s watery eyes. He gulped. Before he stayed in his apartment. He never had a soft spot for everything. Jungkook never saw that. He sees Jimin as a brave, coldhearted man who does his best in killing. Now, it seems like the tables have turned. The moment Jungkook touched his soft spot, Jimin wasn’t the same anymore. And it hurt Jungkook. It hurts him seeing Jimin cry because of him.
“I shot you but it wasn’t that severe. I did that all because I wanted to secure your safety in the hospital,” Jimin’ brows furrowed. He was confused. Why would Jungkook do that? “It’s true that I love you. I agreed to G-Dragon when he told me to lure you on that abandoned place because I have another plan in mind. I wanted to protect you. I left because I needed to plan everything to ensure your safety.”
“You’re lying.”
Jungkook shook his head and a tear fell. “Park Jimin, you don’t understand. I’m doing all of this because I love you! I’ll make sure that you’ll get out of here. Hyungsik is coming after you,”
“What?”
Both of them looked at the door when they heard loud knocks against it. Jimin was still confused. He needs answers!
“I’ll go back here and I’ll devise a plan for your escape. I have two other comrades here that will keep an eye on you while I’m away.”
“No! I won’t fall for your tactics again. You lied to me once, I know you’ll do it again.” Jimin glared at him.
“Don’t be too stubborn, Jimin-ah! I faked an ID and made my way here all for you now you’re like that?”
Continuous knocks were heard again. Jungkook sighed and leaned closer to kiss Jimin’s forehead. For the first time in a while, Jimin felt the electricity between their bodies again. Because of that, he couldn’t control his tears anymore. Jimin just let the tear fell from his cheek as Jungkook stepped back.
“I promise to tell you everything—explain everything when we have time. For now, take care of yourself.”
Jungkook wore his black cap again and wiped away Jimin’s tear. “I’ll come back. Please wait for me,” he whispered and went to the door.
Right now, Jimin felt like he just let Jungkook hold his hand and they’re now both running in circles with no place to go. Those words were like déjà vu. As he closes his eyes when Jungkook left the secluded room, he recalled what the younger said during the incident.
“Do you trust me?”
Jimin sniffed and whispered, “No.”
