Story 3 - No Filet Kind of Guy (part 1)

He had done it once more.

Looking at the only other person inside the restaurant’s face Dojun started to understand the awkwardness it meant to Heesoo whenever he would book a whole restaurant floor for the two of them. Heesoo’s cheeks were blushed, but he seemed to be rather annoyed by the whole situation.

“You really should stop doing all of this, Master.”

Dojun cut through the piece of meat in his plate and cook a bite. “I don’t understand; didn’t you say you wanted us to have a meal together?”

Heesoo dropped his fork on his plate, almost in disbelief at the question that he had just been asked. He shook his head, grab the fork again and, looking down, picked up a small carrot.

“You do realize that if we wanted privacy we could just cook at my place?”

Dojun gasped, and noticed that his reaction had surprised even Heesoo who was slowly beginning to smile. He had been first in all of his college classes and yet he couldn’t have thought of this little equation to their situation?

Did this mean that the two of them would be cooking together, like back when Heesoo had tried his best to teach him how to fried eggs?

The idea seemed… too heavenly for Dojun.

A few days later…

Dojun was worried.

It had been a few days since he had last seen or heard from Heesoo and it bothered him. Normally the Beta would visit the main house along with Dojin's partner and their son. But for the second visit in a row Heesoo was nowhere to be found.

Where was he? Was he okay? Had something bad happened to the guy?

He made his way to the lounge area where the whole family – including his not-so-ill-anymore father – and tried to keep his cool in front of everyone. Dojun walked by Dojin's Omega and tried his best to remember his name but with his thoughts only set on the whereabouts of the man he loved the attempts proved to be pointless.

“Good day, Hyung!” the Omega greeted.

“Hm,” was the only answer Dojun could come up with.

Damn it… this was the first time they hadn’t seen enough for a long period of time since they had started to meet frequently. He had wanted to try Heesoo's apartment and see if he was still there but he had feared that the Beta would find him weird by sneaking at his place.

He missed Heesoo so much…

Dojin suddenly walked in the lounge, waved at everyone before he offered his lover a quick kiss om the lips. As much as the Omega hadn’t wanted to be in this relationship in the first place the couple seemed to be doing just fine now. Dojun didn’t want to admit it but deep down he envied that little romance where they could just be together and kiss one another in front of a group of people.

It got late and after a while everyone stood up from their seats. Mother and Father were offering baby Byul and the Omega a kiss goodbye as the little family prepared to head home. In a fatherly fashion Dojin took the little Alpha and began headed towards the mansion's entrance. In a reflex reaction that surprised even himself Dojun grabbed the Omega's shirt and pulled him back to stay with him.

He looked down at the small human in front of him. The guy didn’t show any signs of fear but looked confused as hell at what had just happened.

“Hyung! I-er…” he clearly didn’t know how to react.

“Sorry…” Dojun pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose. “Hye-sung, yes? I… I was wondering if you knew where Heesoo has been lately?”

The Omega's eyes widened with joy and excitement. Clearly having been picked to discuss Heesoo with him was some sort of honor that Dojun did not understand…

And then another wave of confusion covered the blonde's face. “Wait… he didn’t tell you?”

Dojun frowned. “Tell me what?”

Hye-sung's hands went to his mouth and looked like he had just told a government secret to an enemy. “Shit…”

The Omega was panicking, but this is the last thing Dojun wanted his future brother-in-law to feel. “It's okay if you don’t tell me, I appreciate that you care that much about him. Just tell me if he is alright?”

The blonde male’s mouth dropped. He was breathing slower now and seemed more at peace with his emotions.

He then smiled. “Fine, I'll tell you, Hyung. But please don’t be mad at me for not telling you sooner or at him for not telling you himself.”

Dojun sighed in relief. The Omega was just following Heesoo’s request and for that he felt grateful that the man he loved had a friend that truly did care about him. “I could never be mad at either one of you.”

Life had its shares of firsts.

First steps; first word. First time away from the family; first 100 on a test.

First time cooking with your lover.

First time being someone else’s first kiss…

How about “First time taking care of someone dear to you?” Dojun thought as he knocked on Heesoo’s front door for a fifth time.

Hye-sung had given it all away back at the mansion: Heesoo had been sick for the last few days and had told everyone – including his and Dojin’s band’s members – to stay away from his apartment. Hye-sung had been the only one able to go inside the apartment the day before and Heesoo had promised him he was okay and only needed a few extra days of rest.

It hurt Dojun a little that Heesoo hadn’t warned him about being sick, but perhaps this was just Heesoo’s ways of doing things: after all the Beta had never really been in a relationship with anyone, and most likely always hid being sick from Dojin back when they were younger.

Either way, Dojun really wanted to change this from now on. He wanted to be there for Heesoo, to take care of the man he loved so dearly. He smiled at the images inside of his mind of Heesoo trying to take care of him if he’d be the sick one and although it seemed rather strange to have Heesoo yell at him to get better quickly he didn’t mind the thoughts.

When the door finally opened Dojun’s eyes widened and he almost dropped the bag he carried in his left hand as he saw Heesoo’s pale face. The guy looked like he was on the edge of death; he was most likely very dehydrated and probably hadn’t have a thing to eat in days…

“M-Master…?”

There was no time to reply: Heesoo’s body went forward and Dojun grabbed him just in time. The poor male felt light in his embrace and his clothes were soaked from sweat. Dojun panicked. His instincts told him to move Heesoo’s frail body indoors and to lock them both inside where he wouldn’t be leaving until Heesoo was back to his normal self.
