Work Text:
» 'Til the sun sets continue doing it even more all night
Courage just wait a bit, I'll catch you, all mine.«
Sometimes it really got late in the studio.
Namjoon would sit on one side of the studio and Yoongi on the other one, both always wearing their headphones to fully concentrate on what they were doing. They didn’t see the sunset; neither did they see the sunrise. No windows in the studio could steal their sense of time repeatedly and it always resulted in a question full of confusion “did we really spend all night in the studio?” and a yawn following when both decided that it was finally time for a well deserved nap.
Today was no different.
Both boys were at their respective desks, humming to themselves along some of the new beats they had been composing for the past weeks. A lot of pressure was being put on them with BTS’ nearing comeback date and both didn’t have a clue how to deal with it, other than throwing themselves into work and more work, until all the notes and lyrics would become a blurry ocean in front of them.
Funny, considering that it wasn’t their first or second one and yet it always felt like their debut.
They never got used to the feeling of creating music, to which thousands of people would listen to, so with every approaching comeback they tried to exceed their previous album.
» Hyung, you should take a break. It is getting late and that hunched over position of yours isn’t good for your back.«, Namjoon explained, when he heard Yoongi groan for, what might seem, the 100th time in ten minutes.
» I don’t see you taking a break, though Joon-ah.«
Namjoon paused for a second before he answered. He was the leader; he is the one who has to make sure that his group mates don’t overwork themselves. He himself could take a break later, after some of the weight is lifted off of his shoulders.
» I don’t need a break, Yoongi. I am fine.«
He tried to emphasize the fine so Yoongi would believe him, but even in his tired state Namjoon knew, that Yoongi wasn’t buying his lie. A quick look at him was more than enough of an answer. He had dark circles under his eyes, his clothes were all wrinkly and his hair hadn’t been washed for at least three days. Yoongi didn’t look any better.
Empty coffee mugs started to form a pile on his desk, endless balled up sheets of paper and broken pens, which were all a result of frustration and confirmation that both needed a rest.
» Yeah sure, go tell that to your dark circles. Go take a nap on the couch «, Yoongi pointed to the couch in the corner, » and don’t bother hyung in the process of creating a masterpiece.«
Namjoon could only shake his head.
» I rather have you being alive and healthy than have a masterpiece and you in a hospital, because of a burnout.«
Both males looked at each other, tired and exhausted, but not ready to back down. They continued it for a while until Yoongi sighed in defeat.
» Fine, I will take a nap if you take one too «, he exclaimed.
» Okay, you can go first.«
» No Namjoon, we both are gonna take a nap together. I don’t want to hear any smartass comments on this matter, so get your ass up and lay it down on that moldy ass couch.«
Namjoon muttered something under his breath, but Yoongi was too tired to piece the words and their meaning together, as he was already dragging himself in the direction of the couch. The younger was following him, wondering how Yoongi imagined for both of them to take nap together at the same time. The couch was too small to possibly do that.
Yoongi on the other hand didn’t waste a second to think about problems like that. His body was aching, screaming for sleep and a long, steamy shower. Maybe not in that order, but he did what he could.
Reaching the couch, he just threw himself onto it, facing Namjoon and silently asking him if he would finally join him. The younger was standing there, unsure of what to do. He could try to sleep on the other end? And have Yoongi smell his feet -
» Namjoon, now come here and be the little spoon or some shit «, Yoongi told him in a sleepy, a bit annoyed tone.
» I am not sure about that. I really can just wait until you’re finished with your nap - «
He didn’t manage to finish his sentence. Yoongi had grabbed his wrist and pulled him down next to him.
Namjoon’s heart was beating faster, a little bit too fast for just laying next to one’s group mate. But was Yoongi ever just a group mate for Namjoon? Since day one they both had been fighting over silly things, over how one has to make toast or clean the bathroom.
Hell, they even fought once about the right way to pronounce “tomato”.
But after every fight there were nights where both would just lay in the middle of the living room and stare at the ceiling, talk about everything and nothing.
They wouldn’t look at each other, not unless they thought the other wouldn’t notice the subtle stare.
And in those moments all the weight on their shoulders got lifted off. Everyone else in the dorm would be asleep - it would be only them and the fathom like sounds of cars passing their windows outside.
Sometimes there were no words exchanged at all, just the steady breathing from the other. Those kind of nights were the ones after a big fight. After screaming and throwing things, after doubting every decision they had made, after not knowing anymore what the future would bring.
Those were the fights you would become so angry that you started crying. And even though Namjoon hated it when it happened, he liked those nights the most.
They didn’t need any words to know that they both were sorry, that they both are so frustrated and anxious what the future will hold for them, they just knew that they could count on each other, no matter what.
Yeah, those nights were Namjoon’s favorite and that was how he knew that over the past years, they have grown closer.
» Yoongi, I don’t think that this is a good idea…«
» Neither it is a good idea to pull an all nighter, but here we are Rap Monster.«
Namjoon had to cringe at his old stage name. After all it was a mistake he had made and wanted to forget.
He was thankful, that everyone accepted “RM”, Real Me, he couldn’t be more grateful for that.
» I would shut up about that, Gloss «, he countered, stiffening when Yoongi pulled him closer to his chest. This was new to him.
It wasn’t something odd for them, to take a nap on the same surface, but mostly they had a lot of space between them. Being this close to Yoongi, being able to feel Yoongi’s breaths on his neck, that was very new to him.
Namjoon’s heart became suddenly very heavy, too heavy for his chest and body to handle.
It didn’t feel like it belonged there anymore, didn’t feel like it should be there. He knew that he should not have all these feelings for Yoongi he has, should know better than to fall in love with someone he works together.
For fucks sake, they are supposed to finish this song as soon as possible! (Being on tour at the same time didn’t help either.)
By all means, neither Namjoon nor Yoongi, had the time to deal with their personal feelings.
» At least I don’t have to listen to old songs and hear me say Rap Monster in all seriousness.«
Yoongi wandered off with his voice, oblivious to Namjoon’s inner fight with himself.
It wasn’t the most comfortable position they were laying in, Yoongi’s arm was dying and Namjoon was trying to make himself as small as possible to not disturb Yoongi, make his inner dilemma not noticeable to the person it was about.
» Joon, would you please relax. I am trying to take nap here and you act like you’re about to get murdered.«
» With you I never know for sure.«
» Hahaha, so funny.«
But after that little banter, Namjoon started to relax, pushing his worries to the back of his mind, telling himself that he would worry about that later. (Or maybe never and ignore his feelings forever until they have faded. At least that was what he was doing since the moment he realized he had a massive crush on Yoongi.)
» Much better «, Yoongi sighed into Namjoon’s back. It didn’t last long until Yoongi fell asleep, but just to make sure Namjoon quietly said his name.
» Yoongi?«
Nothing, but silent snores and a warm, steady breath on his neck.
» There are…. There are some things I want to tell you «, he started, pausing because Yoongi moved in his sleep.
» The heart is a funny thing, you know? I know that you hate my metaphors and that I never come to the point of what I really want to say… but I guess that is who I am.«
Namjoon chuckled to himself. It was ridiculous to start telling Yoongi how he was feeling about him, while he was sleeping right behind him, holding him in his arms.
» But I want you to know that you’re the only one who can hear the lonely whalien 52.«
He felt how his heart tightened saying the last sentence, but he was too tired, too weak to make the pain go away.
» That song of ours is one of my favorites, because…. because I so often feel lost in this world and there aren’t many people who really hear me.«
And like that Namjoon fell asleep in Yoongi’s arms, too.
The next days were hazardous.
They didn’t talk much after their nap together, didn’t have the time for it.
When one woke up, the other was already a long time gone, running errands and coming back home at ungodly hours. Usually Namjoon and Yoongi would always go together to the studio at the company, get some coffee on the way and talk about how much they wanted to go back to sleep. ( their manager always reminding them, that no, he would not turn the car around )
Today Namjoon was left alone to complain to their manager, but he didn't mind it too much.
Yoongi had better things to do, right? At least that was what he was telling himself.
Truly, he was just afraid to face Yoongi again and words slip past his lips he didn’t think through.
It wasn’t like they didn’t talk at all with each other, but something had changed between them. When they were in the studio late at night it seemed like always. They would sit at their desks, ask the other to look at the beat and listen to it, but something had changed. Namjoon couldn’t put quite his finger on it, but he was sure that he was more rested the past days.
To be fair, their relationship didn’t start on good terms and by any means, if they wouldn’t have sat down and talked through everything, who knows where they would be now.
Skin contact between them was not unusual, not frequent, but they were certainly comfortable around each other.
And that was when it hit him. He and Yoongi had been taking naps more frequently together.
They didn’t end up always falling asleep in each other’s arms; sometimes Namjoon would fall asleep while sitting and Yoongi would lay his head down on his lap.
Yesterday Namjoon had laid down on the couch to just close his eyes for a few seconds to only wake up to Yoongi using him as a pillow. He didn’t mind, but his heart was still beating a little bit faster and a little smile was stealing its way onto his lips.
That much physical contact was unusual.
Namjoon couldn’t shake that feeling off of him, that there was more to the whole situation (and he certainly did blame his own feelings for that).
He couldn’t shake off that feeling that they have crossed, that he has crossed, a line which shouldn’t have been crossed.
He stopped mid thought.
They were just napping with each other, taking a rest they needed and nothing else. It did mean nothing at all, so why was this messing with Namjoon’s thoughts so much?
He surely interpreted too much into the whole thing.
The car had stopped in front of the coffee shop they had been visiting since day one of starting to work together. Back then Yoongi and Namjoon would always walk from their dorm to the coffee shop, get their coffee and then walk together to the studio.
Back then they didn’t have to fear getting recognized and their dorm, well their dorm wasn’t on the other side of Seoul.
He didn’t tell it Yoongi, but he missed those mornings. He missed Yoongi telling him that the coffee shop made his iced Americano just like he wants it to be, smiling brightly while sipping on his coffee.
He missed their daily morning walks through the busy streets of Seoul, even though they didn’t talk with each other.
Namjoon couldn’t explain why he enjoyed them so much, but he did.
Now manager Sejin was the one picking up their order. So while Namjoon waited, he checked his phone to see if Yoongi had texted him anything (at all), which would be surprising, because Yoongi never was the one to text someone first.
No messages from Yoongi, but 10 messages from Jungkook telling Namjoon that he had no plan how to turn on the washing machine.
Namjoon: look it up on Google
Jungkook: but there are literally only videos on how to sort your clothing L
Namjoon: that is a thing you should learn, too.
Jungkook: But that is the new washing machine and I literally have no idea why it has so many buttons
Jungkook: it even has an app, like wtf
They texted for a little bit more, before manager Sejin would open the door of the van and give Namjoon his coffee.
» With heavy cream and sugar, like always.«, Sejin said and sat down next to Namjoon.
He wasn’t too keen on arriving at the studio so he could spend the rest of the day at his desk and wonder if he was ever going to finish this god damn song, but from the coffee shop it was only a five minutes’ drive, which passed faster than Namjoon would like.
» Are you making good progress with the song you and Yoongi are working on?«, he asked, while checking emails on his phone.
Namjoon took a deep breath, leaning back into his seat and letting his head hang low.
» Yoongi is having a good time with the beat and is probably only perfecting it right now.«
Manager Sejin looked up from his phone, expecting Namjoon to continue his sentence, which Namjoon didn’t.
» And what about you, Namjoon? How about the lyrics?«
Sejin didn’t stop looking at Namjoon, who felt really small in this moment.
» I am having difficulties with it, when I am honest.«
» Maybe you should talk with Yoongi? You both are a an amazing team.«
Namjoon didn’t say anything to the last sentence, only nodded his head absently while looking out of the window of the car.
Upon entering the building, he was greeted by the receptionist with a quick ‘morning’, before they went back to their work and Namjoon went straight to the elevators.
Namjoon could walk to the studio in his sleep. It was always the same.
Wait exactly 30 seconds for the elevator, step in and pick the 6th floor, hum to the elevator music for one minute, step out, swipe his entrance card at the door and close the doors behind him.
Yoongi and Namjoon had their own studios, but at given times it was just nice to have someone to work with and share the workspace.
For Namjoon, Yoongi was definitely one of the hardest people to work with. He didn’t mean it in a negative sense; it was just hard to please Yoongi in music, but at the same time Namjoon was sure, that Yoongi felt the same way.
Upon entering the shared studio, he saw Yoongi already being drowned by his work and decided to just give him his iced Americano quietly.
He knew better than to disturb him.
Yoongi only looked quickly into the direction where Namjoon put his coffee down and gave him a nod of acknowledgement before going back to work.
It wasn’t easy to create soundtracks for the upcoming game, they had never done that before and didn’t know exactly what was expected from them.
The other members had a fair share of struggle, too, with their songs. Although, if Namjoon was honest to himself, it wasn’t the lack of experience what made him struggle so much, it was the topic of their songs.
Sure, they were free to choose about what they could write and make it out to be, but Yoongi and Namjoon had ended up going with their relationship.
It wouldn’t be the first song to refer to their friendship they had. In ‘Move’ Namjoon had a whole verse written about Yoongi and ‘Spring Day’ was based on their whole relationship, but writing this song was so much harder than expected.
He went back and forth, throwing away lyrics which were too specific, showed too many personal emotions towards Yoongi or were just bad in his eyes. It wasn’t like he didn’t have any verses he didn’t like; it was just that he was really unsure about them.
They were vague enough for a non ARMY to not interpret too much into and meaningful enough for their fans, who knew about their journey.
Maybe Namjoon shouldn’t worry too much about the lyrics and all the possible ways they could be interpreted, maybe he should push that little voice, saying that Yoongi would hate the lyrics, off from a cliff.
Namjoon decided to finish his coffee, before he would throw himself back to work, so he could have at least five minutes of peace.
While sipping on his coffee, Namjoon absently looked at Yoongi.
His brow was furrowed and he bit on his lip. It was a bad habit of Yoongi, which Namjoon happened to notice over the years and it hadn’t changed the slightest.
Namjoon took another sip from his coffee, looking over the edge of the cup to continue watching Yoongi.
He was wearing sweatpants and a loose hoodie, which was one Namjoon had gifted him. Well gifted wasn’t exactly the right word. Namjoon loved to shop online and sometimes the size he ordered was the wrong one.
Not wanting to throw the new clothing item out and being too lazy to send it back, Namjoon gave it to Yoongi.
First it was only a nice gesture, but somehow it became a repetitive pattern. Clothe shopping for himself became also imagining what would look good on Yoongi and Namjoon would lie if he didn’t feel a sense of triumph whenever a shirt, jacket, pullover or pants suited Yoongi better than he would have thought. He also made sure to always buy something for himself, so it wouldn’t be obvious.
There was no rational way of explaining what Namjoon did, other than weird and if Yoongi had noticed, then he didn’t say anything to Namjoon about it.
By now he had finished his coffee and had no other way of procrastinating and avoiding the work he needed to do. A quick glimps into Yoongi’s direction wouldn’t hurt, right? It was only then when Namjoon noticed that Yoongi was taking a break and looking at Joon.
The gaze of Yoongi felt intense, as if he was asking Namjoon silently a question he didn’t want to say out loud. And Namjoon didn’t want to know what Yoongi would ask him, turning away, putting his headphones on and hoping for his computer screen to finally light up.
Namjoon didn’t see Yoongi still watching him, asking himself why Joon was acting the way he was.
X
» Namjoon, we should rest. It is already midnight and we have been here since, what? 6am?«
Yoongi yawned to make it clear to Joon that he indeed wanted nothing more than to shut down his computer and take a long nap. Maybe continue eating his already cold take out, too.
» Let me finish this real quick. Ten minutes? Max twenty«, Namjoon answered, without looking up from the screen, leaving Yoongi sulking.
He knew that Namjoon was more stressed out than he was, but surprisingly Namjoon could hide that pretty well, so well that he himself didn’t notice that Namjoon was tense, biting his fingernails and clenching his jaw too much.
He also had noticed that he was way more stressed about the lyrics than usual, but decided not to mention that, knowing that it would stress Namjoon even more.
Instead Yoongi decided to play with his phone in the meantime, attempting to finally finish this one level in a game he had been playing for a while.
It wasn’t productive, but he wouldn’t have done much more for his project, so it was a welcome break at this ungodly hour. While he was playing, he didn’t even notice the 20 minutes passing and certainly did not notice how Namjoon was stretching himself, before finally shutting down his computer.
» Hyung, I really can’t finish these lyrics, huh« Namjoon said sadly. He looked defeated; disappointed by himself that he wasn’t making any progress. At least not the progress he wanted to achieve.
» Joon-ah, it is okay. All you need right now is a break «, Yoongi told Namjoon reassuringly. He could see how much Namjoon just wanted to go back to writing, so he could continue trying to finish and perfect what he had written.
Yoongi hadn’t seen the lyrics, though. Usually Namjoon would always check in with Yoongi, so they could discuss them and match it to the beat, but this time Namjoon refused to even rap one line out loud. He was confused, but also didn’t question it.
» Let’s just sit down on the couch and talk, okay? «
Namjoon nodded and followed Yoongi, sitting down next to him and avoiding any eye contact. It was something they always had done when they were frustrated and after all manager Sejin had recommended Namjoon to talk with Yoongi.
And he was about to follow manager Sejin’s advice, until Yoongi rested his head upon his shoulder. He was dead in his tracks, flinched, but hoped that Yoongi didn’t notice.
But Yoongi did.
He had also noticed Namjoon’s avoiding gaze whenever he wanted to talk to him, noticed that something wasn’t like it used to be.
» Joon-ah, you never had a problem with me napping on you, but the past weeks you act like I burn you.«
» NO! I mean no, it is okay I just...«
He doesn't finish his sentence, tries to avoid looking at Yoongi, which was hard, because Yoongi was staring at him intensely. Yoongi wasn’t letting Namjoon ignore him, so on top of that he did the only thing he could think of.
He grabbed Namjoon’s face between his hands and made him look at him.
» Tell me what's wrong!«, he demanded, still holding onto his face.
All sorts of thoughts were running through Namjoon’s head, possibly trying to find an excuse good enough for Yoongi to believe without questioning it.
But oh wonder! His mind decided to go blank.
» I… hyung please promise me to not hate me for whatever I will tell you next.«
» I pinky swear to never hate you as much as when you accidentally threw my Kumamon Plush out of the window «, Yoongi answered in a serious tone, calming Namjoon's thoughts for a short second.
It was cute seeing the younger one being so flustered, a thing he hadn’t seen for a while now.
Namjoon had by now removed Yoongi’s hands from his face, but was still holding onto them, opening and closing his mouth as if he was questioning everything he wanted to say. (which he did)
» You can tell hyung what is on your mind, what makes you act this weird around me these past weeks.«
Namjoon took a deep breath, exhaled and inhaled again to only look at Yoongi’s hand resting in his own. Yoongi was wearing the ring he had gifted him after they won their first Daesang. He didn’t wear it often, saying that he didn’t want to lose it like Namjoon did with his ring from Dubai.
And Namjoon was still sometimes angry at himself for losing the ring. It was a nice ring, fitting him perfectly and the thought of Yoongi spending so much time on choosing the ring was something, which filled him with warm rays of sunshine.
» Here goes nothing…«, Namjoon whispered, before looking up from Yoongi’s hands and into his eyes.
Here he was, Kim Namjoon, trying to figure out how he would end up confessing his feelings to Min Yoongi at 1am in their studio.
» I am in love with you. Like really in love with you and know it is not just a crush. Hell, I have been in love with you for so long and I don’t even know anymore when I realized that I am in love with you, Hyung.«
Namjoon paused to collect his thoughts.
» These past weeks… I didn’t want or tried to avoid you. But that night we napped on this forsaken couch together my feelings started to overflow? I know it was just us napping together, but – god I am sorry. «
Yoongi didn’t say a word, only looked at Namjoon, then his hands in Namjoon’s and then again at Namjoon. He was at a complete loss for any words.
He had expected a lot. Thought Namjoon didn't want him to be around anymore, feared that they would go back to the time where they only fought, but a love confession didn’t even cross his mind for a second.
» Kim Namjoon, you are a man full of surprises.«, Yoongi chuckled slowly breaking into heavy laughter.
Namjoon was confused. Did he say something wrong? Was Yoongi really laughing at the thought of them both being together? He had expected rejection, excuses, but Yoongi to laugh at him?
» Hyung I am really sorry, please don't laugh at me...«, he asked him sadly, letting go of Yoongi’s hands. If he didn’t feel miserable enough just minutes ago, then now he felt miserable for sure.
Yoongi on the other hand needed a second to calm himself. As soon as he saw Namjoon’s sad expression, he took Joon’s hands into his.
» You're so stupid sometimes. I don't hate you for... For being in love with me and neither do I laugh at the thought of us two.«, Yoongi started to explain, still holding Joon's hands in his.
» It is just so funny to me, that you never noticed me loving you just as much.«
Yoongi smiled fondly at Namjoon.
» All these times I napped with you on this god damn old couch, even when it is so uncomfortable, but you were there to hold me and make sure I don't fall off of the couch.
All these times we ordered take out and ended up spilling it over the lyrics we wrote... Those were the nights I was the happiest, because you were there with me. God, I am so in love with you that I could go on all night.«
Namjoon was silent. Was he so occupied with his own feelings that he didn’t notice Yoongi’s?
Suddenly Namjoon was leaning in closer, inches away from Yoongi’s face.
» Hyung... I really want to kiss you, can I?«
Yoongi didn’t answer him with words, but answered him by closing the gap between them. Their first kiss together was quick, only a peck on the lips before they would part again.
Both were looking at each other, surprised by their action. And then their lips were on each other again, little kisses, Namjoon pulling Yoongi closer to him and Yoongi letting him.
Little kisses turned into needing and longing kisses. When they pulled apart to catch some air, both were breathing heavily.
» So you’re telling me, that we could have been doing this since forever?«, Yoongi asked, mere inches apart from Namjoon’s lips.
» We have a lot to catch up on, Hyung.«
At some point, neither of them knew how and when it happened, Yoongi was on top of Namjoon. Kissing Namjoon and holding both of his hands in his.
Time seemed to have stopped for them, because all of what was important to Yoongi, was to finally kiss Namjoon.
He had asked him many times how it would feel to kiss him, to be kissed by him, had laid many nights wide awake pondering on all those questions and never getting an answer. But right now?
He felt like being in heaven.
Yoongi was kissing Namjoon slowly up and down, leaving little love bites along his neck and then returning to kiss Namjoon’s plump lips all over again, before just stopping mid way to look at him.
Namjoon was smiling, his eyes lingering on Yoongi’s lips while he mustered him. His skin was golden, messy blond hair falling over his eyes, because Namjoon didn’t care to style it
(and maybe Yoongi also didn’t care messing it up during their make out session).
» I could stay like this all night with you.«, Yoongi whispered against Namjoon’s lips. He was about to kiss him again, when Namjoon turned around, almost throwing him off of the couch.
» What the -«
Yoongi only looked confused at Namjoon, barely managing not to fall off the couch he had intended to stay on longer with Namjoon.
» I am really sorry, but the last thing you said to me gave me an idea and if I don’t act on it, I will forget it!«, Namjoon said without a break between his words, while he rushed towards his computer.
Yoongi was left dumbfounded on the couch, watching Namjoon writing the lyrics down like a maniac. He had to stop a smile from breaking out on his lips. Inspiration would come and go like flashes of lightning. They can come unexpected even when the day was all sunshine with blue skies and no clouds in sight.
Night arrives and it turns out to be the biggest storm with one lightning after another making the dark blue sky go bright.
Other times it's calmer and when you try to capture it with your phone you can wait for eternities and nothing will come any time soon. And the next day it will be like nothing happened. Only the faint smell of rain and puddles were the only hints left that there was a storm.
So you wait for the next storm to come, to try your luck and capture it in its whole glory.
Yoongi knew better than to interrupt.
The older decided to watch from afar, laying down on the couch again and finding a comfortable spot.
Time would pass and Yoongi could feel how his eyes were becoming heavier. He yawned stretching his limbs out, before telling himself that closing his eyes for five minutes wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Slowly he drifted off to a peaceful slumber, which would be only disturbed by Namjoon slowly caressing Yoongi’s cheek.
It certainly wasn’t the worst way Yoongi was woken up and certainly could imagine being woken up like that every day.
» Mhm… Joon-ah, did you finish writing?«, he asked sleepily, his eyes still unfocused.
» Yeah Yoon-ah, just added the finishing touches to it.«
Namjoon then leaned down to Yoongi and gave him a kiss on his forehead.
» But now we really should go back to our apartment and sleep.«
Yoongi was slowly lifting himself up.
» You don’t want to show me the lyrics I inspired you to write?«
The older would sulk playfully, shaking his head in disappointment.
» We confess our love to each other at 1 am and you won’t even show me your lyrics? Nice boyfriend I have gotten here.«
» Did you just say the b word?«
Namjoon didn’t expect to be called boyfriend so quickly by Yoongi, he was prepared for a long in depth talk how they would proceed with this whole situation – if it was even a good idea to date each other regardless their mutual feelings.
» Yes and I am about to say it again, my boyfriend.«
Yoongi had a cocky smile plastered all over his face, telling Namjoon that there was no possible scenario he would stop using the b word. Namjoon chuckled at the view in front of him.
Yoongi’s hair was a mess, his left cheek still being a little bit red from Yoongi sleeping on it and the cocky grin – the cocky grin of his was what made Namjoon want to kiss his whole face over again.
» Yoongi, we need to talk about us, about all of this.«, Namjoon said, looking down.
Yoongi’s cocky grin faded and he stood up straighter.
» I guess we should, even after I already called you my boyfriend.«
With a sigh, Namjoon sat down next to Yoongi, but in a way so he could face him and before Namjoon could even voice his concerns, Yoongi was already apologizing.
» I shouldn’t have called you the b word this quickly…. I mean we kissed and confessed our love, but didn’t establish anything at all and just -«
This time it was Namjoon who started to chuckle, taking Yoongi’s hands in his.
» I don’t mind you calling me boyfriend, it is just new to me, you know? There are many things we have to consider, though.«
Yoongi could only sigh. It would have been too easy just telling each other how they felt.
» I don’t think we should announce it to the public.«, Namjoon continued with a sad smile.
» But we still should tell the others, they are our best friends.«, Yoongi added, intertwining their fingers and watching Namjoon nod.
» But for now… for now let’s keep it a thing between us both, maybe one of them will catch on.«
Namjoon laughed at the thought of the rest trying to figure out what has changed in their household. Would they play detective? ( that option was more possible than anything else, considering what they have done in the past.)
They would be accepting, they always have been, no matter what was going through Namjoon’s mind. To say the least, Namjoon was pretty sure that Seokjin had caught on. He had a sixth sense for just knowing things he shouldn’t nor couldn’t know.
Comfortable silence fell over both of them.
One million thoughts were running through their minds – fears, worries and so much more, but the warmth of their intertwined hands, their tired eyes looking at each other and the silent smiles on their lips, all of it was the confirmation that sometimes magic could happen between four walls. Magic could happen in their studio, magic only Namjoon and Yoongi could see and understand.
» Joon…«
Yoongi was leaning in closer, his forehead resting against Namjoon’s.
» I really really really like you.«, he whispered and smiled.
» Then I am glad, or else the song would be really embarrassing.«
