Chapter Text

Wei Ying’s first time meeting Doctor Lan Zhan had been to get a prescription for heat suppressants, he’d run out and been too caught up with work to remember he needed more and made an appointment as soon as he could.

The second time they met Wei Ying had a bad cold, he was sent home from work and he found himself calling the doctor again. The third time they met Wei Ying had scheduled a check up requested from his work, by this point he’d seen the doctor three times in one month and had taken to the other, calling them friends at this point. Despite his complaints about them hardly being friends he accepted Wei Ying’s number and reluctantly gave him his personal cell phone number.

About a week later Wei Ying began showing up during his lunch hours and would sit with him and eat. Lan Zhan had questioned it at first on why he would go out of his way to eat lunch with him when Wei Ying had told him, “It’s one of the rare times I can actually hang out with you!”

Lan Zhan had left it at that but his curiosity never left him, he simply accepted the other’s loud company when they ate. After another week, Lan Zhan quickly grew used to his company, if anything it almost looked like he looked forward to his lunch breaks now.

The two had been in their usual spot eating when the sound of footsteps made their way over, Wei Ying had the perfect view of the stranger and a grin broke out on his face. “Not to alarm you or anything Lan Zhan but I think your doppelganger is coming over here.”

Confused at Wei Ying’s words, Lan Zhan turned his head to this so-called “doppelganger” and simply scoffed. “Not doppelganger, brother.”

Wei Ying let out a gasp and playfully hit the other’s arm in a scandalous gesture. “Brother? Lan Zhan are we hiding secrets from each other now? I thought we were close!”

“Not close.” Lan Zhan replied and looked back to his brother who stopped at their table.

“A-Zhan I’m surprised to find you out eating.. And not alone.” his brother teased causing Wei Ying to snicker at the jab. “I’d been hearing talk from the others that the ‘attractive and aloof Lan Zhan has been eating in public with someone’, I never thought it would’ve been true.”

The tips of Lan Zhan’s ears grew red and the once contained laughter across from him finally erupted into a full blown laugh. “Ahah oh man, do people really call him ‘The Attractive and Aloof Lan Zhan’? That’s perfect!” Wei Ying dodged the swipe at him from the other and looked up at the elder brother. “So you are his brother, here I thought you were a doppelganger!”

A chuckle came from the elder brother and he made himself at home to sit across the two with his own lunch. “Do we really look that much alike?” Wei Ying gave a hum and poked at his food in front of himself before speaking.

“Yes and no, very similar but there’s definitely very noticeable things to tell you apart. I guess from behind it might be hard but even then your builds are different. But also the two of you have very different hair cuts,” he paused and took a bite of his food. “But I guess if you had a scrub cap on or something on to hide the hair it could be tricky for people who don’t know the difference.” The brothers stared at Wei Ying as he spoke, the elder really hadn’t expected him to reply, it was mostly a jest.

When he noticed no one responding Wei Ying looked up at the two slowly and felt a giggle rise up at the looks on their face. “Enough staring I know I’m attractive, eat, eat.” He waved his hand breaking their gazes and the elder brother went to eat before pausing.

“Oh right, my apologies I forgot to introduce myself.” Setting his chopsticks down he turned his full attention to the other and smiled. “I’m Lan Huan, as you know I’m A-Zhan’s brother.. I’m also a doctor and surgeon here.” Wei Ying gave an impressive whistle and looked between the two brothers before introducing himself.

“Wei Ying, best friend to Lan Zhan~” he cooed, Lan Zhan’s ears tips went red again and he brought his food back to his lips.

“Not best friends.”

Wei Ying gave a whine at the response before lying his head on his arms and looked up at him. “But we are! We’re so close Lan Zhan!”

Lan Huan watched the two and couldn’t help but laugh a little, his little brother definitely made an interesting friend and it warmed his heart to see his brother enjoying himself.

Lunch came and went before they knew it, the three went their separate ways and the next day Lan Huan found himself joining them during their lunch break. They quickly fell into a comfortable routine, meet up at their usual spot, eat and chat. Wei Ying even took to bringing them lunch, since the brothers would often be in a rush, unable to prepare anything beforehand. He’d quickly found out their favourites and would bring lunch whenever either of them texted him they’d forgotten theirs, sometimes even giving them snacks if they got hungry later. 

Out of nowhere one day when they were sitting around eating, Lan Huan decided to ask a question that had been eating away at him. “Wei Ying, I’ve been meaning to ask something.” The person in question covered his mouth as he chewed but gave a noise for him to continue. “How do you manage to have time every day to come all the way here to eat with us? Surely making our lunches and coming here is taxing..”

Lan Zhan’s own head turned to Wei Ying, his brother had raised a good point, even he himself had been curious.

Wei Ying took a sip of his drink and simply grinned at the two. “Oh right I never told you guys did I?” He gently knocked on his own head and gave a giggle before speaking. “I work downstairs.”

The look of confusion over their faces caused him to laugh before he realized he had to clarify what he meant. 

“Aha if you come into the main hospital entrance you know how there’s like coffee shops and the gift shop?” The two nodded and he continued. “If you go in and turn right, near the back there’s a coffee shop that also serves food. I work there.”

Lan Huan gave a soft ‘oh’ and Lan Zhan simply nodded. “So it’s not really taxing, if anything is taxing it's the damn elevators.” he grumbled. “Some days they are more busy than others so I’m stuck taking the stairs.”

Lan Huan gave a faint chuckle and looked down at the food in front of him. “And the lunches?” 

Waving his hand Wei Ying sat back in his seat and looked at the brothers. “My boss doesn’t mind that I make your guys’ lunches in the back, some days when it’s last minute one of you texts me I make it there. Otherwise I make them at home with mine.”

Lan Zhan looked over his lunch, then to his brothers and finally Wei Ying’s, each was made differently to cater to the person’s interest as well as being healthy. He almost felt bad for allowing the other to spend so much of his own free time to cook for them.

“And before either of you start to feel bad it’s fine, I like cooking. If you suddenly stop asking me to make lunch it's cause I know you feel bad, if you do.. I'll make you lunch anyways and make it super spicy to burn your tongue off!”

The Lan brother’s went still and glanced at each other before looking back at their food, and almost as if planned they both spoke together. “Thank you for the food.”

Seeing their reactions Wei Ying broke into a fit of laughter, they really hated spicy foods huh? Wiping away a tear he began to pack up the empty containers from his lunch. “You two really are too funny sometimes.” he giggled.

The brothers followed suit when they finished their meals and handed off the empty dishes to Wei Ying. “Oh right before you two go here!”

Digging into the large lunch bag Wei Ying pulled out two small containers with various dried fruits and other snacks in them and set them on the table. “I know you're both working late so here’s a little something if you get hungry before dinner.” Lan Huan gave a smile and accepted the container, even though Lan Zhan wasn’t smiling he could tell his brother was also happy at the gesture. The brother’s gave their thanks and like normal they left before Wei Ying, who stood there packing the containers away in his lunch bag.

Soft chatter filled the waiting room when Wei Ying entered, he checked in and took a seat with the rest and pulled out his phone to browse social media. Names came and went as the nurse came to collect people. By the time Wei Ying’s name was called the room was half empty, he’d been so distracted with his phone he hadn’t even realized how long he’d waited.

“Wei Ying.” He stood and shoved the phone into his pocket before following the nurse.

“Wait here, the doctor will be in to see you shortly.” With that the nurse left and Wei Ying pouted at the cold tone before sitting. “Definitely one of Lan Zhan’s nurses..”

Thankfully he didn’t have to wait long, he stood with his back to the door when he heard it open, he’d been bored and decided to poke at things in the room. “What are you doing?” The sudden voice caught him off guard and he’d accidentally slammed the cabinet door harder than he meant to.

“Lan Zhan! Aren’t you supposed to knock before you come in? You scared me!” Wei Ying patted his own chest to calm his heart, caught like a child in trouble he quickly sat down and gave a pout.

“What were you doing in the cabinet?” Lan Zhan closed the door and took his seat on the stool near Wei Ying.

“You were taking so long so I decided to entertain myself!” He grinned but quickly lost it at the sudden glare and sheepishly giggled. “I didn’t touch anything, promise!”

Lan Zhan gave a faint hum and looked over the clipboard in front of him. “What’re you here for?”

“Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan.. I didn’t know your eyesight was that bad.. It’s written right there.” Wei Ying cooed, finger slowly tracing over the paper. Lan Zhan smacked it away and Wei Ying cradled his hand. “Scent suppressants.. I ran out and forgot to schedule an appointment.”

Lan Zhan pulled out a pair of glasses from his chest pocket and slipped them on before glancing at his papers. “I’ll write another three month perscription.”

Wei Ying grinned and leaned forward until their shoulders were almost touching and took a peek at his handwriting. “Your handwriting is so beautiful Lan Zhan!”

The tips of Lan Zhan’s ears flushed red, he swatted his hand at the other to shoo him off and Wei Ying gave a whine. “What am I a bug? How could you swat at me!” He broke into laughter but was cut off from a knock at the door.

“Come in.” Lan Zhan turned his attention to the door and when it opened he spotted his brother.

“A-Zhan I--oh Wei Ying.” Lan Huan gave a smile and bowed his head, Wei Ying returned it and looked between the two.

“Ah I’ll let you two talk.” Wei Ying mumbled.

Lan Zhan finished the prescription and handed it to the other. “This time remember to make an appointment before you run out. You know it’s dangerous.” he reprimanded, slipping his glasses back into his chest pocket.

“Oh wow, Lan Zhan you really do care!” Wei Ying gave a fake cry and wrapped his arms around Lan Zhan’s neck and pulled him close.

Lan Huan simply stared at the scene in front of him and found himself chuckling when he saw his brother’s ears. “Wait, dangerous? What’s wrong?”

Wei Ying let Lan Zhan go and looked to the other brother, waving the prescription between two fingers. “Nothing, just need scent suppressants is all.”

Lan Huan looked Wei Ying over before leaning closer to smell him. “Oh! That was you?” he paused. “I didn’t know you were an omega..”

Wei Ying giggled and stuffed the prescription into his pocket before nudging Lan Huan’s arm. “Really? Even Lan Zhan knew, though he is my doctor so I guess it made sense for him to know..”

Lan Zhan grabbed the clipboard and stuck it between the two to create a wall between them. “You know where the pharmacy is right?” Lan Zhan turned his attention to his patient and Wei Ying simply nodded before giving the two a faint goodbye and left, completely oblivious to a set of eyes that seemed to linger longer than considered acceptable as the omega left.

Upon leaving the floor to the pharmacy Wei Ying took out a pill and popped it into his mouth before sipping at some water from a nearby fountain. “That’s weird.. I get the feeling I was being watched..” he shuddered and rubbed his upper arms before making his way back down to the cafe for work.

When the weekend finally came Wei Ying was thrilled, he had the next two days off and he was going to enjoy every single second of it. After clocking out and telling his coworkers goodbye he was surprised to see Lan Huan standing outside the shop. “Ah Lan Huan!”

Hearing Wei Ying’s voice Lan Huan turned his full attention to the other and smiled. “Hello, did you just get off work?” 

Wei Ying nodded and stepped up closer to the other and crossed his arms, a glint of mischievousness in his eyes. “You mean to tell me you weren’t waiting out here to greet me after a long day of work? Cruelness really does run in the Lan family.” He wiped away a fake tear and broke into laughter when he saw the other’s expression. “I’m kidding!”

Lan Huan’s face broke into an awkward smile before he chuckled. “I was actually just in the shop thinking about a snack but decided against it.”

Wei Ying checked the time and thought for a moment before gently bumping shoulders with the other. “How about we get dinner then? If you join me it’ll be my treat.”

Lan Huan looked down at the other with another smile and nodded. “I’m exhausted but I can’t skip dinner I suppose. Any place in mind?”

“Hmm, there’s one of my favourite places nearby.” Wei Ying took hold of the alpha’s arm and began to tug him along in the direction of the restaurant. “It’s a little hole in the wall sort of place, has a lot of really good spicy stuff.” he paused. “Oh and non spicy stuff too, I know you two can’t handle spicy.”

Lan Huan let himself be led along and listened to the other ramble. 

When they reached the restaurant Wei Ying plucked two menus and seated the two of them at a free table, noticing the look of confusion on Lan Huan’s face caused him to giggle. “I’m here a lot, so the owner doesn’t really mind.”

“Ah I see, how often do you eat here?” Lan Huan gave a look over the menu and felt his mouth burn just reading all the spicy dishes.

“Mm fairly often, I like cooking but it gets tiring and with work and having to buy groceries, it can be a pain to balance everything.”

Lan Huan listened to him talk and when the waiter came he managed to find something not spicy that looked interesting.

Wei Ying ordered three different things and Lan Huan looked at him with surprise causing the other to giggle. “I’m hungry~”

The two chatted about random things to get to know one another better and by the time their food was brought out, Lan Huan noticed a suddenly sweet smell and looked over their food. They didn’t order anything that would have a sweet smell, giving a faint sniff to his own food Wei Ying caught him and gave a laugh. “Does it smell bad or something?”

“No, I’m just trying to figure out what that sudden sweet scent is..” Lan Huan looked around a little puzzled, the scent was starting to make his thoughts a foggy mess.

“Ah that’s probably me sorry, my scent suppressant probably wore off for the day.” Wei Ying sniffed at himself before sticking his arm out to the other. “This?”

Hesitantly Lan Huan leaned over and sniffed at his arm before sitting back as if the arm burnt him. “Yes..”

Wei Ying frowned a bit at his reaction before remembering the other was an alpha. “Oh right you're an alpha, I probably smell really strong huh?”

“It’s not a bad thing.” He quickly replied, giving a smile to reassure the other Wei Ying decided to drop it and eat. When they finished eating Lan Huan placed his card on the table for the waiter, realizing the other wanted to pay Wei Ying slapped his hand over it. “No, I said my treat, remember?”

Lan Huan chuckled and took Wei Ying’s hands in his own allowing the waiter to take his card. “I never said I agreed to that.”

Wei Ying’s cheeks flushed at the sudden gesture and he looked away, his heart began to race and he tried to find something to say.  “If you're not too tired.. Would you like to stop by my house for a bit to talk? I feel like I don’t get to talk with you one on one like my brother does..”

Swallowing hard Wei Ying looked at Lan Huan before giving a faint nod. “Alright.” When the waiter returned his card Lan Huan stood and took Wei Ying’s hand and led him out of the restaurant and to his house.

The walk was filled with silence until they reached his home, Wei Ying let out a gasp at the large house and immediately looked around once inside.

“You live alone here? It’s so huge.” Lan Huan cut the omega off by grabbing his hand and pulled him against his chest. Wei Ying froze and gave a hard swallow before moving his free hand up the alpha’s chest. “Lan Huan.. did you want to do something more than talk~?”

“If you don’t want to, we can stop, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable..” The alpha purred leaning his head closer to the omega’s neck.

“I-I don’t mind.. Just be gentle okay it’s been awhile..” Lan Huan gave a nod and with ease picked Wei Ying up and carried him off to his bedroom.

Wei Ying gave a giggle at the show of strength and held onto the other. “So strong~” he purred. Lan Huan laid the omega down and leaned back to pull his own shirt off, Wei Ying licked his lips and sat up to join the other in undressing.

There was no rush but something inside of Wei Ying demanded he get the alpha inside of him as quick as possible. Laying back completely naked now, he slipped a hand between his legs and swiped up some of the slick that began dripping out of him and slipped a finger inside himself.

Wei Ying wiped the vomit from his chin with the back of his hand. The beta male standing in the doorway to the bathroom with his arms crossed, face mixed with irritation and pity for his favourite worker. “Alright Wei Ying enough is enough, go upstairs and see if you can get in with your doctor. We can’t have you being this queasy near the food, customers will begin to worry.”

Wei Ying’s boss had enough, the first few days weren't so bad but now Wei Ying had been getting even more sick and even threw up while dealing with food. It wasn’t sanitary and sure as hell wasn’t going to bring in more customers.

Wei Ying adjusted his hand over his mouth and gave a nod, he completely understood and if anything he just wanted to be away from the smell of food at this point. He clocked out for an early break and left the shop to head upstairs with fingers crossed he could wedge himself in to see Lan Zhan.

Lacking his usual energy the woman behind the counter instantly knew something was wrong with him. “Wei Ying?” She stood with worry when the other began to wobble and moved from around the corner to seat the male.

“A-aha sorry sorry, I’m not feeling very good.. I know it’s sudden but do you think you can try and cram me in to see Lan Zhan?” His usual upbeat tone was replaced with a quiet and scratchy tone, he smacked his lips quietly together and looked up at the woman. “Can I get a cup of water..?”

“Absolutely, wait here.” she paused, “and I‘ll see if Doctor Lan Zhan has a spot open, if not I’m sure he won’t mind seeing you during his lunch break or something.” She scurried off to grab him a cup of water, when she returned she had to physically hold his hand with the glass to make sure he wouldn’t drop it.

As a bonus safety precaution she moved the small trash bin closer to him before moving back behind the counter.

Wei Ying nursed the water and curled up on the seat, letting his head rest against the back. He’d dozed off before he even realized it and only woke to the gentle shake of his shoulder.

“Wei Ying.. Wei Ying, wake up.”

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes Wei Ying was greeted by Lan Zhan leaning over him with what he could call a hint of worry on his face. “Ah.. Lan Zhan.. when did I fall asleep?”

“I’ll take him from here..” Lan Zhan told the nurse, and without any hesitation he picked Wei Ying up and carried him off to one of the examination rooms.

“Oh my~ How strong you are Lan Zhan~” Wei Ying gave a faint giggle as he was seated on the examination bed and slowly found himself lying back on it. “Ugh.. am I dying Lan Zhan?”

“No.” Lan Zhan simply replied and stood near Wei Ying’s head looking him over. “What’s wrong?”

Wei Ying gently slapped his hands together remembering the whole point of this visit. “Oh right!” Looking up at the doctor he couldn’t help but choke back a giggle at the worry poking through his otherwise emotionless face.

“About a week or two ago I started getting sick, at first I thought it was a bug so I simply let it run its course..” he paused, “but it didn’t go away, and now I’ve just been a gross mess of throwing up, tired, dizzy.. And with the smell of food at work I just wanna throw up even more..”

Lan Zhan listened to everything he listed off and let his brows furrow some. “Don’t panic, but when was the last time you had your heat?”

“Heat?” Giving it some thought he realized it’d been awhile, at the realization he bolted up on the bed in a panic. “Wait, am I pregnant?!”

“Wei Ying calm down, breathe.” Lan Zhan placed his hands on Wei Ying’s shoulders and led the other with a deep inhale, deep exhale. “I don’t know, but the symptoms sound fairly similar.” Exhaling himself he placed a hand to Wei Ying’s cheek to get his full attention. “Let’s do a test.”

“Two.” Wei Ying let his eyes lock onto Lan Zhan’s.

“Alright two tests.” he exhaled. Reluctantly he left Wei Ying’s side to collect everything and when he returned he let the other move into the bathroom.

Lan Zhan held the sample container with a gloved hand and used his other non gloved hand to rub the side of Wei Ying’s cheek. “Lay here, rest. I’ll bring the results when they finish.” Wei Ying did as told and Lan Zhan dimmed the lights before leaving.

When the results came back Lan Zhan entered quietly and gently shook Wei Ying’s shoulder. “Wei Ying, I’ve got the results.” He woke slowly until he remembered where he was and finally sat up, Lan Zhan gave him a moment to wake before showing him the results. “I’d say congratulations but you don’t seem very happy..”

He’s anything but happy at the news, he’s re-reading the paper on the clipboard as if it would change. Hearing Lan Zhan speak he sets the results aside, tears quick to pool in his eyes. Lan Zhan locks the door before taking Wei Ying’s hands into his own, doctor mode off, friend mode on. “Do you know who the father is?”

The question has him thinking for a minute, the only person he can remember sleeping with was with Lan Huan and that was.. Wei Ying simply nods his head but quickly follows up with, “But it wouldn’t work out..”

Lan Zhan doesn’t pry and Wei Ying is thankful for that, the alpha simply lets his thumbs stroke the back of Wei Ying’s hands and the gesture is more than welcome. “You know.. If you don’t want it.. It can be taken care of..” The alpha isn’t a particular fan of that option when it’s brought up but he knows it’s entirely up to the other and he respects it nonetheless.

“C-can I think about it for a bit?” Wei Ying asks softly.

“Take all the time you need, you have my number.” Lan Zhan replies.

Wei Ying gives a simple hum and stares at their hands, “Lan Zhan, do you do this for all of your patients?” he teased.

“Wei Ying..” The cold tone has no real bite to it causing Wei Ying to laugh, Lan Zhan simply gives a sigh and goes to pull his hands away but Wei Ying grabs onto his hands this time.

A knock came from the door, breaking their moment alone together. “Doctor Lan Zhan?” It's a nurse by the sounds of it, “Your next appointment is here..”

Lan Zhan exhaled and looked at the other. “Will you be alright? I can call downstairs to have them send you home.”

Wei Ying simply waved his hand and grinned. “What is this school? I don’t need a doctors note, I’m doing fine for now~”

Hesitant to leave he decided to just believe the omega and nodded. “I’ll see you later.” Wei Ying gave a faint “bye” in return and watched his friend leave, slipping off the bed he instinctively put a hand to his stomach.

Leaving the room he made sure to thank the lady at the desk from earlier before leaving entirely. Wanting to have a bit of time to himself he skipped the elevator and took the stairs instead to think.

He didn’t have the heart to tell Lan Zhan his own brother was the father, he especially couldn’t think of telling Lan Huan that he’s pregnant. Lan Huan’s job as a doctor and surgeon was stressful enough, adding on a pup from a one night stand into the equation would undoubtedly make things more stressful for him.

Besides they weren’t even dating or mates, there was no obligation for him to even give the pup a second glance. Even though they were friends he still felt like he didn’t know Lan Huan enough, and the risk of ruining his friendship with Lan Zhan because of everything only further scared him.

Maybe this would finally be the chance. To have what he already gave up trying for years ago..

Wei Ying worked quietly through the week, his boss had put him to work away from the food much to his blessing.

When his break came up he was quick to grab his things and make his way over to go visit Lan Zhan during his break. It’d been awhile since the two actually got to sit and eat together, work had been rough on the Lan brother’s causing their schedules to change up resulting in Wei Ying spending his breaks alone.

He greets the familiar woman at the front desk and asks if Lan Zhan is on break, she points to his office and Wei Ying practically skips to the room. He knocks and the moment he hears a voice from the other side he swings it open. “Lan Zhan~!”

The alpha stops what he’s doing to look at the guest and the tiniest of smiles rises to his lips. “Wei Ying, what brings you here?”

“Lunch! We haven’t eaten together in forever!” he pauses to close the door and sets the lunch bag on one of the chairs. “Sorry, it's not much, I’m still a little smell sensitive..” Lan Zhan simply shakes his head and stands to sit on one of the couches in his office, giving everything a look over he takes what he knows is for himself.

Wei Ying sits beside him and it’s not until after they start eating that he gets the courage to speak. “So I’ve decided what I wanted to do about the pup..”

Lan Zhan’s chopsticks still in the air, he lowers his food and turns his full attention to his friend. “And?”

“I’m keeping it..” Wei Ying smiles and his hand moves to his stomach. “I’m completely new to this though so,” turning his head he looks at the other, “can I come to you with any questions?”

“While it’s not my department, I will definitely help however I can.” Lan Zhan pauses and glances down to Wei Ying’s stomach. “I can refer you to a doctor on the other side of the hospital who works in that area. She’d be glad to help you.”

Wei Ying’s surprised at the amount of talking that comes out of the alpha and gives a faint chuckle before turning serious again. “Alright,” he paused, “but Lan Zhan you can’t tell anyone about this.. And I mean no one..” His voice and expression is uncomfortably serious; it almost makes Lan Zhan uncomfortable.

“That would breach the doctor/patient confidentiality.”

Wei Ying breaks out into laughter, the whole thing is said so seriously that he can’t help but laugh. “I thought I was here with my friend not my doctor~” he teases.

Lan Zhan’s ears go red and he turns his attention back to his food but doesn’t eat. “Wei Ying..” after hearing a ‘hm’ he continues. “If you are willing… I am more than willing to help you,” he turns his attention back to the omega, “I know how stressful it can be on omega’s to go through this alone..”

The laughter is gone in an instant and Wei Ying feel’s his cheeks heat up. Giving it a moment's thought he leans over and lets his head rest on Lan Zhan’s shoulder. “Awe look at you Lan Zhan~ I never thought I’d live to see the day you become this soft~” Food long forgotten Wei Ying slips his arm around Lan Zhan’s to cuddle it and lets his eyes close.

“I trust you, out of anyone I trust you.” he mumbled, the words cause Lan Zhan’s ears to burn red again as he sets his food aside, forgotten as well. “Having an alpha like you around would do a lot, even though it’s covered up most of the time you have a very calming scent. I have no doubt this little pup would agree too.” He remembered reading an article once about how an alpha’s scent or voice could help relax a pup while in the womb.

“Besides it’s not like I’m getting any younger, unlike most omega’s I’m not the super soft docile type, despite my flirty nature it's not like alpha’s are all over me.” Wei Ying rambled, “And with my scent blocked most of the time people don’t even realize I’m an omega..” Burying his face into Lan Zhan’s arm he begins to mumble. “This might be my only chance for pups..”

Lan Zhan’s heart aches at the omega’s words, he raises a hand to brush the hair from Wei Ying’s face and tilts his head up carefully. “Wei Ying, those alpha’s are idiots to not give you a chance.” Wei Ying pulled back to sit upright and watched the other as he continued. “Just because you're not like those kinds of omega’s doesn’t make you any less special,” another pause, “if anything you're more special for being different.”

Silence fills the room after he finishes, both of them can’t make eye contact with one another, Wei Ying’s face is red and so is Lan Zhan’s ears. Wei Ying is the first to break the silence and it’s with a soft giggle before hiding his face back into Lan Zhan’s shoulder. “Thank you..”

Lan Zhan gives a soft ‘mm’ and a more comfortable silence fills the room this time. Returning his attention to his food, Lan Zhan switches between feeding himself and feeding Wei Ying who by this point has completely curled up against him on the couch.

Shoes kicked off and legs under himself, full weight on the alpha as he happily chews down the food, the entire sight has Lan Zhan’s heart pumping harder. Even if they aren’t exactly dating he’s practically classified as his alpha and the thought causes his ears to go red again.

Now isn’t the time for his feelings though, he doesn’t want Wei Ying to think he’s only asking him out because of the pup, or to simply say yes because his omega instincts are craving an alpha to get through this.

“Lan Zhan~” Wei Ying pokes at the alpha’s cheek and when he gets his attention he whines. “Feed me~” Lan Zhan returns to feeding Wei Ying over himself and when he’s finished he returns to eating.

The omega sits up right and takes the chopsticks from him. “Wei Ying--”

“Say ahh~” Wei Ying takes to feeding the alpha the rest of his food and as much as Lan Zhan wants to stop him he can’t bring himself to. The omega looks so happy feeding him and he wants to see him smiling as much as he can, knowing the hardships the omega is going to go through later on.

When lunch is finished the two part ways, Wei Ying decides to deliver the news to his boss to officially put his pregnancy days into effect for work. His boss and coworkers are thrilled for him and one after another they give their congrats to him despite his protests that they don’t need to. Any attempt at mentioning who the father is Wei Ying simply avoided or teased saying they were too important for him to publicly say.

When everyone finally left him alone he decided to head home early and take in everything that happened from the roller coaster of his day.

It takes a few days before Lan Zhan contacts Wei Ying about the doctor from the Pregnancy Ward, he’s nervous to go alone and asks the other if he’ll accompany him there. Lan Zhan said they can go during his lunch break and when they meet up the next day the alpha is standing there patiently waiting for him.

“Lan Zhan~!” he skips over to the alpha who turns to greet him and puts his hands out to stop him from moving.

“You’ll trip, careful.” Lan Zhan scolded.

Wei Ying simply laughs before swaying side to side. “I’m fine Lan Zhan, now lead the way~”

The two make their way to the Pregnancy Ward and the male behind the desk immediately recognizes Lan Zhan and stands to greet him. “Doctor Lan Zhan! How can I help you?”

Lan Zhan placed his hands on the counter before looking at the male. “Doctor Jiang Yanli..” he simply replied.

The male snaps his fingers remembering her telling him to set up an appointment for a new omega Lan Zhan would be sending over. “I’ll let her know you two are here.”

Wei Ying watches the omega male leave and is led by Lan Zhan to sit and wait. “Lan Zhan sit, sit~” He simply shakes his head and continues standing next to him almost protectively. When the omega returns he has them follow him to one of the examination rooms and tells them she’ll be in shortly.

Lan Zhan helps Wei Ying to sit on the bed and is about to step away until the omega reaches out to stop him. “L-Lan Zhan.. can you stay?” Assuming he meant until she got there he simply nodded and continued to stand next to him while Wei Ying busies himself playing with the alpha’s fingers.

Moments later a knock on the door comes before it opens and a small, thin omega with a bright smile pokes her head in. “Hello, I’m Doctor Jiang Yanli, you must be Wei Ying?” She closes the door and immediately turns her attention to the omega who simply nods at her question.

“Lan Zhan has told me about your situation briefly, I want you to know that if you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to call. Your comfort and safety along with the pup’s safety is our highest priority.”

Wei Ying listened intently as the woman who practically radiated an angel’s aura spoke, her focus of his comfort and safety made him happy and he quickly found himself getting comfortable with her as his doctor for all of this.

Allowing the two to talk Lan Zhan goes to step away but is stopped again before he can reach the door. “Lan Zhan.. can you stay?” The alpha turns his attention back to the omega and Jiang Yanli gives them a moment to speak and steps away. “I’m still a little nervous to be here alone..” he admits, “plus if you're going to be playing the role of my alpha, I don’t mind if you stay.. If anything it would help me.”

The tips of the alpha’s ears go red and Lan Zhan can only form a faint “mn” as he turns fully to the omega and extends his hand. Wei Ying gladly accepts the warm hand and a smile is quick to grow on his face, remembering the doctor the omega returns her attention to her.

“How cute~” The female omega covers her mouth and giggles causing the other two to flush with embarrassment. “Alright would you mind laying back on the table and lifting your shirt up some? We’re going to do your first six week ultrasound and make sure everything looks okay.”

Wei Ying does as told and reluctantly lets go of the alpha’s hand to lay back and expose his tummy, Lan Zhan steps closer and the omega is quick to take his hand again. Even though the alpha’s scent is supposed to be blocked by the scent suppressants, he can still somehow vaguely smell him and he’s grateful for the comfort his scent gives him.

Jiang Yanli returns pushing over a cart with some things Wei Ying doesn’t recognize, she sets it up and he watches with curiosity. “This will be a little cold, sorry.” Is the only warning he gets before a cold gel drips onto his stomach, he shudders and it’s quick to warm up when she places the transducer on his stomach.

The room is silent aside from some sounds from the monitor as she looks around, when she finally stops Wei Ying’s attention is completely locked to the screen. “Everything looks good thankfully,” she lifts her free hand to the screen and points to a small spot before looking at the omega.

“This little spot here is the baby,” she adjusts the sound and a faint but noticeable sound pulsates through. “and that is the heartbeat.” 

“Wei Ying..” Lan Zhan’s voice snaps him out of his intense focus, the alpha’s free hand comes to his cheeks and it’s only then that he realizes he’s crying.

“Ahah Lan Zhan.. that’s my baby..” The alpha nods and the omega’s attention is pulled back to the screen, Jiang Yanli smiles and after messing around for a bit with the machine she turns her attention completely to the omega.

Raising a hand softly to brush a tear away from his cheek she smiles and keeps her hand holding the transducer steady. “I’ll print you a photo, how does that sound?”

The gentle tone tugs at Wei Ying’s inner omega and he’s quick to nod and looks from her to the screen again. She removes the item from his stomach and wipes off the gel before turning her attention to the machine.

While she busies herself, Wei Ying turns his attention to the quiet alpha beside him. “Lan Zhan you’ve been awfully quiet, is something wrong?” 

Lan Zhan shakes his head and stares deeply at the omega, Wei Ying feels his face heat up and sits up to look eye to eye with the other. “What are your thoughts on seeing the baby?”

The alpha is silent for a moment before he finally utters the word “beautiful” to his face. Wei Ying’s face feels like it can’t get any warmer but it does somehow and in an instance he’s hiding his face into his hands. Lan Zhan’s hand gently strokes the omega’s back unaware of the effect of his words.

Jiang Yanli turns her attention to the two and offers the ultrasound photo to the omega. “Here, I jotted down the date so you’ll be able to look back and remember how tiny the pup was.” Wei Ying took the photo and sure enough on the back was today’s date. “When I was pregnant with my son I kept every ultrasound photo and put them in his baby book”

The omega listened intently, the idea of starting a baby book did sound like a good idea, he could write all sorts of things to embarrass his future child with if he tried hard enough. A short series of giggles came out of him at the thought, Jiang Yanli smiled and pulled out a photo of her son before showing it to the other.

“I know it’ll feel like hell at times, but trust me it's worth it.” The two looked over the photo she handed over and looked at the smiling family, Jiang Yanli, her husband he assumed and a little toddler between the two.

“Ah! He’s so cute!” The omega cooed before returning the photo.

Jiang Yanli smiled brightly and nodded in agreement before looking over the photo. “My little bundle of joy.. Oh that’s right!”

She turned away to scribble her number on a scrap of paper before handing it to Wei Ying. “Incase you have any questions, as a doctor and a mother, I'll do my best to be of help!” Wei Ying smiled brightly and accepted the paper with a thank you, Lan Zhan helped him off the bed and the two left.

The heavy weight of worry on Wei Ying’s shoulders left, knowing the angel Jiang Yanli was his doctor through this, plus with Lan Zhan at his side he felt even more at ease.

It’s been about two months since Lan Huan was able to really sit down with his brother and their friend, any free time the man had went towards resting when he could. A break in surgeries and appointments finally allowed him some more free time, he sent a text to his brother that morning asking if he and Wei Ying were still meeting up for lunch.

A text back told him they had and that if he was going to meet up with them he would tell Wei Ying to prepare lunch for him. The thought of Wei Ying’s cooking was more than enough to kick him into a good mood despite the busy morning he had lined up.

When lunch time came he received a text from Wei Ying which took him by surprise. ‘We’re in Lan Zhan’s office, not the old spot!’ They moved to eating at his office? Shaking off the question of why, he stuffed his phone in his coat pocket and made his way to his brother’s office.

Lan Huan gave a knock before poking his head inside to see the two sitting across from one another on the couches, the tea table between them covered in food. Lan Zhan and Wei Ying brought their attention to the alpha and Wei Ying’s face lit up. “Lan Huan! It’s been forever!”

The alpha closed the door behind himself and gave a soft chuckle as Wei Ying came over and grabbed onto his arm. “Two months is hardly forever.”

Wei Ying dragged him to sit beside his brother and he took in all of his favourites in front of him. “As soon as Lan Zhan told me you would be joining us, I immediately went to work making some of your favourites!”

The alpha smiled and gave a quick thanks before deciding on where to begin first.

Lan Zhan poured his brother a cup of tea before going back to eating, Wei Ying happily watched the two as they ate. Midway through eating he noticed Wei Ying’s arm wrapped around his stomach and couldn’t help but find himself staring, the omega noticed and sat up straight. “Something wrong?”

Lan Zhan looked at his brother before looking at the omega before realizing that his brother hadn’t seen him in two months to notice the change in the omega. Wei Ying decided to speak again when he realized the other seemed to be focused on something. “Lan Huan?”

Lan Huan snaps out of it when Wei Ying’s hand is waving in front of his face, blinking away his train of thought he simply smiles. “You seem a little different then last time, you’ve got more of a glow and pardon me but it looks like you’ve put on a little weight.”

He should be irritated at the weight comment but he knows it's true, shrugging the thought off he plays with his thumbs before glancing over to Lan Zhan, said alpha simply looks back at him before breaking eye contact to continue eating.

Wei Ying takes a deep breath and plasters a smile on his face before turning his attention back to the elder brother. “I’m pregnant..!”

Lan Huan freezes and Wei Ying swears he just shut down like a computer at the words, an uncomfortable silence fills the room until Lan Huan seems to “power back on”.

“Congratulations..” is the only thing the alpha can manage, Lan Zhan’s gaze flickers between the two taking in his brother’s reaction.

Lan Huan’s attention turns to his brother, seeing him unfazed he unintentionally let the question in his head slip out. “You already knew?”

His brother gave a nod before looking at the food in front of him. “I am his doctor, he told me not to tell anyone.” he paused and glanced at his brother. “This included you.” Hiding the look of hurt from his brother's words, Lan Huan turns his focus back to the omega in front of them.

Wei Ying stays silent, an uncomfortable smile still on his face when Lan Huan looks back at him. He knew he couldn’t hide it forever from the alpha, but he wished it could have lasted a little longer without worrying.

The three sat in that uncomfortable silence unsure of how to break it, no one could place what the uncomfortable feeling was to even think of fixing it. Instead they settled on eating, Wei Ying occasionally being fed food from Lan Zhan as his brother watched at the corner of his eye.

When their lunch break ended Wei Ying was the first to leave, the uncomfortable feeling had died down by then and the omega left with an actual smile on his face. The Lan brother’s stayed behind in the office, as soon as the door shut Lan Zhan turned to his brother who was still staring at the door. “Brother?”

“Did he ever tell you who the father was?”

Surprised by the sudden question Lan Zhan simply shook his head. “No,” looking down to his hands he continued, “he simply told me that it wouldn’t work out between them.”

Lan Huan continued to stare at the door as his brother spoke, his line of sight gradually shifting to his brother. “When did he come to you about it?”

Confusion showed on Lan Zhan’s face at the sudden slightly personal questions, brows slightly furrowed and he tried to remember back. “He was roughly four weeks pregnant when he came to me, now he’s about fourteen weeks if I remember correctly.”

Lan Huan simply hummed and finished off his cup of tea before smiling at his brother. “Do you need help cleaning up?” The alpha shook his head and Lan Huan found himself standing up. “Then I’ll be leaving first, excuse me.”

Lan Zhan watched as his brother left, multiple questions rose to his mind but he didn’t want to question his brother. He figured he might’ve felt a little hurt at being left out of the news for so long, but he wouldn’t dare betray Wei Ying’s trust, who he told or didn’t tell wasn’t up to himself but the omega.

With questions being tossed around in his head he busied himself with cleaning up everything on the tea table.

Later that week Wei Ying attends his fourteen week check up with his angelic doctor Jiang Yanli, he was reluctant to go alone but Jiang Yanli and him had been texting and she suggested updated ultrasound photos would be a cute surprise for his alpha. Wei Ying agreed and that’s how he found himself sitting alone in the examination room waiting for his doctor.

Jiang Yanli entered the room full of smiles and Wei Ying felt his worries drift away, the two hugged and chatted as she readied the machine as the other omega lied on the table. Cold gel applied to his stomach he shuddered and instantly locked his eyes onto the screen as Jiang Yanli began the check up.

“Soon we’ll be able to find out the gender of your little one.” She hummed, Wei Ying thought for a moment before giving a hum himself. “The gender doesn’t matter, as long as the pup is healthy that’s all that matters. I wouldn’t mind a surprise, I planned on getting gender neutral everything anyways--”

Wei Ying’s ramblings were cut off by a gasp, panic instantly rushed through him after hearing his doctor. “I-is something wrong??” Jiang Yanli's lost smile quickly returns as she began frantically pointing at the screen. “There’s two!”

Confused the omega stares at the screen trying to figure out what she meant. “Two?” Jiang Yanli nods and looks at him before explaining. “It’s not uncommon for one pup to be hiding behind the other--” she paused seeing the sturdy look of confusion on his face before giggling. “Twins.”

The omega’s face went from confusion to shock to surprised in the span of a few seconds. “Twins?!” She nods her head and looks around from a few new angles. “I swear I only saw one last time.. Though they are still small so it’s not impossible I didn’t see them, like I said it’s not uncommon for one twin to be hiding.”

Wei Ying stared at the screen watching the two little pups that were inside of him, the female omega noticed him trying to hold back his tears but urged him to let it out. She handed him the tissues and quickly took to preparing photos but before she could get to printing them Wei Ying asked if he could get three copies.

When she left Wei Ying immediately grabbed his phone and called Lan Zhan without hesitation, when the first call doesn’t go through he tries again. The call almost goes to voicemail but the other end finally picks up, before Lan Zhan can say anything Wei Ying is shouting. “Its twins!”

Silence fills the other end as Lan Zhan tries to piece everything together. “Congratulations.” The smile on Lan Zhan’s face doesn’t go unnoticed by his brother, curiosity peaked he asks his brother quietly what’s got him so excited. The alpha hesitates before the omega gives him the okay to tell him and pulls the phone away from his ear. “Wei Ying is having twins.”

The small smile quickly grows into a full blown smile at the news and goes unseen as Lan Zhan returns his attention to the omega on the other line. “Sorry for not answering immediately.. I was talking with my brother..”

Wei Ying waves his hand knowing the action goes unseen over the phone and tosses the used tissues into the waste bin beside him. “No worries, I just wanted you to be the first one I told~” He grins and kicks his feet happily, it’s only then that he realizes he’s glad Lan Zhan didn’t come along, he feels embarrassingly giddy and being seen like some giddy shy school girl right now would only further embarrass him.

“Where are you two at now? I’ll stop over, I want you to see the new ultrasound photo~” The female omega enters the room quietly and hands over the photos, Wei Ying quickly thanks her before the two part. “We’re at my brother’s office, do you know how to get here?”

“Even if I didn’t you know I’d just ask around.” The omega snickers, silence from the other line has him picturing Lan Zhan rolling his eyes at the comment. “I’ll be right over! Muwah!” The line goes silent and Lan Zhan’s ears go red as he pulls the phone away from his ear. “Shameless..”

Amused at his brother’s expression Lan Huan simply sits there staring at his brother. “Is Wei Ying coming here?” Lan Zhan puts his phone away and nods before looking at his brother. “He wants us to see the new ultrasound photo.”

It isn’t long before Wei Ying barrels through the door without even knocking, the brothers look at him and Wei Ying is panting as if he ran. Lan Zhan is quick to attend to the omega to help him catch his breath and get off his feet. “Did you really run here? What if you fell? What if you got hurt??”

Wei Ying held back a giggle at the alpha’s worry before placing one of the ultrasound photos in front of his face. “Look look! Twins Lan Zhan!” Worry not forgotten but set aside Lan Zhan took the photo to properly look at it, a smile tugged at his lips as he stared at the two little figures. The omega waved his arm holding another photo towards Lan Huan, the alpha stood and walked over taking the photo from him. “These are your copies, I asked for three.”

Looking at his own copy he smiled and began to touch at his stomach, Lan Huan’s gaze left the photo and went to the happy omega before him. “Wei Ying, can I speak to you for a moment… alone..” Not paying any mind the omega simply hummed an okay, Lan Zhan however was hesitant to leave for some reason. 

Grabbing the omega’s attention Lan Zhan rested a hand on his knee. “I’m still angry with you, stay here I’ll get you some water.. Are you hungry?” Wei Ying pouted but nodded, he could use a snack even if it was something plain that Lan Zhan was likely to grab. Lan Zhan hesitantly left the two alone, as soon as the door closed Lan Huan took the spot next to the omega on the couch.

“First off, I want to congratulate you on having twins, not one but two cute little pups.” The alpha cooed, Wei Ying smiled and put the photo away before looking at his friend. “Thank you.” Silence followed as the two sat there until Lan Huan turned to fully look at the omega, swallowing hard Wei Ying turned to look at the alpha in return. “Are you sure you don’t want to tell the alpha about this? Maybe offer to let him make the choice on whether to be part of their life?”

Wei Ying’s heart dropped at the question, he frowned and looked down at his hands on his lap before sitting normally on the couch, shaking his head he finally replied. “The alpha is much too busy, even if I told them they’d probably hardly have time for the pups..” taking a shaky inhale he continued to speak, “besides it’s not like we were together or anything..” The omega gives a nervous giggle but it’s quickly lost at the serious look on the alpha’s face.

“Are the pups mine?”

Wei Ying seals his lips and lets his gaze fall back to his lap, the two sit there in silence as Lan Huan continues to stare at the omega, taking his silence as the answer he needed he moves himself onto his knees in front of Wei Ying. The omega gasped at the sudden action and tries to get the other back to his feet.

“If you’ll allow it.. I’d like to be part of the pups lives..” Lan Huan’s intense gaze is gone, replaced by a soft expression of concern, placing his hand with the utmost of care over Wei Ying’s hands he continued. “I know it was only one night we indulged in, but even after I haven’t forgotten about you.. About your warmth, laughter, smile.. None of it..”

At this point Wei Ying’s heart is racing as the alpha speaks, wave after wave of emotions rack through him that he can barely focus on the words. Lan Huan’s free hand reaches up to brush some of the tears off of his cheek and he instinctively finds himself leaning into his touch.

“I know everything’s out of order and a mess, but I care about you Wei Ying.. and if you’ll allow it I’d like to be able to court you one day..” Lan Huan continues to stroke the omega’s cheek, his other hand lifting one of Wei Ying’s hands to his lips. “It pains me to know you think I’m too busy to care about the pups.. While yes my job can take a lot of my time, I will take any time off immediately for you and our pups.. I want to be there for all three of you.”

When he’s finished speaking Wei Ying is still an emotionally conflicted, crying mess, it takes him several minutes to finally find his voice to speak. “I.. I need to think about it.. About everything..” Lan Huan simply nods his head and moves away to give the omega space. “Take however long you need, you know how to get a hold of me.”

It takes two and a half weeks for Wei Ying to come to a full conclusion, upon reaching week seventeen in his pregnancy he’s come to realize how far along his pregnancy has gotten. The omega in him is yelling at him to accept the alpha knowing the likelihood of an alpha wanting him after finding he’s got children is slim. Some alpha’s loath the thought of raising another alpha’s pups and as content as he is to be alone, part of him still craves a partner.

Wei Ying had sent a text to Lan Huan about a request to meet up after work one day that week, when the time came for them to meet he finally gave the alpha his reply. Emotions swelled up in both of them resulting in slightly awkward hugs at first that gradually shifted into gentle face and hair kisses. “You won’t regret this, I promise.” Wei Ying hoped that would be the case, despite the happiness something something inside of him was still afraid for some reason.

A few days later the three meet up for lunch as usual but the seating arrangement is far from usual. The brother’s would often sit beside one another with the omega across the table of them, today however Wei Ying sat in his spot beside his brother. Deciding not to question it, Lan Zhan simply takes the other seat and looks at his food laid out.

“Ah Lan Zhan I was worried you wouldn’t be showing up!” The omega turned his attention away from the alpha beside him and Lan Zhan felt pain in his chest. “I had something to deal with before I could leave, sorry.” Wei Ying waved his hand as if to say it was alright before turning his attention back to the alpha beside him.

Lan Huan made the majority of small talk as they ate, every now and then Lan Zhan would catch his brother feeding the omega, would catch him wiping away food from the corner of his mouth with his thumb. He knew his brother was caring but this level of affection seemed to extend past the standard Lan family kindness.

The elder brother was the first to notice the stares and turned his attention to his brother. “Is something wrong brother?” Wei Ying’s attention turns also which causes Lan Zhan’s chest to ache again. “Close..” The omega tilts his head confused at the word. “Close?” Lan Huan simply chuckles before covering his mouth a little. “I think he’s talking about us.”

“Ohh..” Wei Ying looks at Lan Zhan and the expression on the alpha’s face seems to be screaming ‘Why?’, figuring now a better time than any the omega clears his throat. “Um Lan Zhan..” The alpha beside him gently takes his hand knowing he’s about to deliver some important news. “The alpha I told you about..” he starts off, hand resting on his tummy in the process. “The alpha is Lan Huan..”

Silence fills the room and to their worry neither of them can place Lan Zhan’s reaction on his expressionless face like usual. Suddenly Lan Zhan stands up and before either of them can react his fist is raised and has made content with the side of Lan Huan’s jaw, unable to prepare himself from the sudden action Lan Huan falls off his chair to the ground.

Wei Ying panics and begins doing his all to crouch down to tend to the alpha’s face. “Lan Zhan! What was that--” Looking up the words die on his lips, he’d never seen Lan Zhan so visibly angry before. “Why didn’t you say so sooner?” The alpha hisses causing Lan Huan to look at his brother in slight confusion. “Because of you Wei Ying went through all of this alone..” He shook his head and his fists tightened at his sides.

Fear ran through the omega at seeing Lan Zhan so angry, the scent of betrayal rolling off the alpha caught his attention though. “Since you have your alpha.. I won’t be around anymore.. You don’t need two alpha’s..” The words hit Wei Ying like a truck and it’s then that he realizes something, the words coming out before he can realize. “Lan Zhan do you like me..?”

The room goes silent at the question, Lan Huan is beyond confused by the whole situation his normally cool headed brother suddenly hitting him and the scent of anger and.. Betrayal? Why did he feel betrayed? When the younger Lan doesn’t respond Wei Ying takes his silence as all the answer he needs and before he can open his mouth to try and talk everything out Lan Zhan storms off knocking things off the table in the process of his frustration.

They sit in silence for what feels like ages before Lan Huan finally speaks up. “Wei Ying.. what’s going on, I’m confused..” Sighing Wei Ying gently touches the oncoming bruise forming at his alpha’s cheekbone. “Before that let’s get you an ice pack and clean this up okay?” Wei Ying gets to his feet with little trouble and the two clean up the mess, he seats the alpha and places a wrapped ice pack on his cheek.

Taking a seat beside the alpha he takes his free hand and plays with his fingers as if trying to calm himself, Lan Huan lets him and stays silent patiently waiting. Wei Ying begins to explain that when he first told Lan Zhan about being pregnant, he said he’d be there for him to help him through everything, essentially be his alpha. “I didn’t realize it at the time but Lan Zhan must’ve been serious about being my alpha..”

Lan Huan’s heart aches seeing his omega cry, removing his hand from Wei Ying’s grip he brushes away the onslaught of tears. “And now..” he sniffled, “..I’ve hurt him by agreeing to fix things with you..” Ice pack long forgotten Lan Huan pulls the other into his chest and when he does the floodgates finally break causing Wei Ying to let everything out.

It’d been a few days and neither have seen or heard from Lan Zhan much to Wei Ying’s worry. He was hoping to speak to the alpha about everything and try his best to fix the situation even though he knew it would take more than a few simple words to fix this train wreck. Out of habit Wei Ying continued to make Lan Zhan’s portion of food when lunch came, Wei Ying would hold his lunch box and stare at it until Lan Huan opened it and split the food between the two. Part of him felt bad eating the food but he knew if they didn’t it would go to waste.

One of the days Lan Huan even suggested leaving it at the main desk to have delivered to his brother, and he tried it only to find from the male at the desk that Lan Zhan refused to touch it. Seeing his omega sink slower into grief over his brother Lan Huan suggested they go out on their next day off together.

The next day they have off Lan Huan meets Wei Ying bright and early for a long day of things to hopefully distract his omega. “How about we get breakfast somewhere? I’m sure you and the pups are hungry.” Wei Ying gives his usual grin at the mention of food and it’s almost as if everything was back to normal. “I want waffles, eggs oh and bacon!” Lan Huan chuckles and listens as he drives them to a well rated breakfast establishment.

When breakfast is over Lan Huan witnesses first hand how much the omega can eat, he’s not sure if he’s always been like this or if its the pregnancy but he feels his own stomach flip at seeing one human eat so much. “Is there anywhere you’d like to go next? Today’s about you my dear.”

Wei Ying thinks long and hard as he gets comfortable in the passenger seat before getting an idea. “I haven’t had time to baby shop, I’ve been meaning to but with.. You know.. I haven’t had the time.. And I can’t carry heavy things on my own..” Lan Huan frowns as his boyfriend’s words trail off, placing a hand over his own he lifts it to his lips and places a kiss to his knuckles. “Then let’s go baby shopping.” Wei Ying smiles and gives a simple nod. It takes a bit of searching but after finding a store dedicated to babies and children the two finally step foot inside the store.

Wei Ying grabs a cart and leans lightly on it with a tired exhale. “I’m not even that fat yet and I feel exhausted from a little bit of walking..” He brushes his hair from his face and Lan Huan pulls his hair back for him and loosely braids it. The omega watches him work and gives a whistle at seeing the finished work. “If we have a daughter, she's going to demand you always do her hair.” The two laugh and Lan Huan simply smiles. “Boy or girl I’ll do their hair, yours too.” Wei Ying hums and the two begin to look around.

“Is it too early to get diapers? That’s a dumb question it’s never too early.. How many should we get?” Lan Huan watches the omega begin to stroll up and down the diaper aisle and simply leans on the cart. “Maybe two large pack’s?” he replies. Wei Ying hums and grabs a fifty pack of diapers before a large box of ninety catches his attention. “Oo what about this?”

Lan Huan’s smile grows as he watches his boyfriend, even if it’s just for a bit to see the omega worry free of the things going on he’s happy to see him excited, even if it’s over diapers. “A ninety pack? That’s a lot of diapers.. Maybe just one of these? It’s still a way off before their born honey..” He hears a whine and looks to see the omega has already placed two of them in the cart, he chokes back a snicker and watches as he waddles off to look at wipes further down. 

“Oo Lan Huan, Lan Huan look! There’s a nine pack refill!” Lan Huan pulls the cart behind him and looks at the nine pack of baby wipes in his boyfriend’s hands. “That’s a lot of wipes..five hundred and seventy six to be exact..” He can’t even fathom needing to use that many in even a short amount of time. “Do people really buy things in such bulk..?” he muttered to himself.

A box of nine pack refills and one pack with a container are placed into the cart and Lan Huan jokingly worries if he’ll have an empty wallet after this. Wei Ying has began to wander off and the alpha catches himself having to quickly chase after. “Do you think it’d be best to breastfeed or use formula?” The omega looks at him and Lan Huan is a little startled at a question actually directed at him.

“Breastfed babies usually have less difficulties with digestion than babies who are fed formula, in addition babies who are breastfed have less trouble with diarrhea and constipation.” he paused and looked at one of the boxes of formula. “Breast milk also contains more of the vitamins and minerals that they require.. Plus breastfeeding gives a special type of bonding with the baby that they wouldn’t exactly get with a bottle.” another pause. “It’s overall healthier and doesn’t cost anything unlike formula which can get pricey over time, it’s also worth mentioning you’ll probably experience some discomfort at first when breastfeeding which is normal. It can also be time consuming because you won’t be able to do much when feeding, and there’s two pups so it’s a bit more time consuming then normal.”

When Lan Huan finished talking he looked to find Wei Ying wide eyed and opened mouth staring at him. “W-what?” Wei Ying finally closed his mouth and swallowed before tearing up, panic ran through Lan Huan and he set the formula aside to hug the omega. “What’s wrong?” Wei Ying gave a few laughs in between sniffles and wiped his tears off on the alpha’s shirt. “First off I was not expecting that kind of reply.. Secondly.. Did you do research or something? You don’t work with children as far as I can remember.”

Lan Huan flushed and looked away in embarrassment, Wei Ying gave a few laughs and turned his face to look back at him. “I may.. Have looked up some things.. I have a friend in the Pregnancy ward and I may have asked him some things..” The omega cooed and leaned forward to nuzzle under his chin as he spoke. “That’s so cute~”

After standing there for several minutes they broke apart and continued their way through the store to clothing. At seeing all the tiny clothing Wei Ying broke down again and lifted up the smallest outfit he’d ever seen and shoved it in Lan Huan’s face. “Look at it! It’s so tiny!” Lan Huan smiled and gently pushed his hands down to actually see it. “Oh wow it is..”

“Our babies will be this tiny..?” Wei Ying mumbled and pulled the little onesie to his chest. “I want it..” Lan Huan placed his hand on the omega’s back and gently rubbed it in a soothing motion. “Let’s get two okay? We’ve got two on the way after all.” Wei Ying nodded rapidly and grabbed another before holding them close to his chest and sniffled. The two spent the next hour and a half looking over clothes and by the time they left that section of the shop the cart was filled with diapers, wipes, clothes and other little things Wei Ying cried over.

The next thing on Lan Huan’s mental list was cribs but suddenly remembering Wei Ying’s current living situation he decided to ask. “I forgot to ask.. But will your apartment have enough for two baby cribs?” Wei Ying looks up from the teddy bear he was inspecting and puts it in the cart without hesitation. “Hm your right, it’ll be pretty cramp.. Maybe rather than two I can just get one and let them share? They’ll be tiny enough for it to work for awhile..” he paused in thought. “Push comes to shove I can simply leave them in my nest, I don’t have a bed and my nest is more than safe. Omega’s do that all the time with their babies.”

The sudden worry on just how small his apartment was sets him on edge, his protective mode begins to override his train of thought and the words leave him before he can process them. “If your place is that cramped you can move in with me, you’ve seen my house you know it’ll be large enough for them plus two pups to grow comfortably.”

The expression on Wei Ying’s face is one of conflict and Lan Huan internally yells at himself for suggesting it so soon in their relationship. “Let me think about it okay?” Lan Huan relaxes when it’s not a blatant “no” and simply nods as the two make their way to check out.

Before Lan Huan could pay, Wei Ying stuck his hand out with a card of his own and before he could speak up about paying he noticed the card. It was a government card with an Omega symbol on it, cards like these were given to pregnant omega’s with a set amount of money on it to cover the cost of early child purchases.

Wei Ying sits in the car tiredly as Lan Huan puts everything into the trunk of the car, the omega fast asleep as the alpha drives him to his apartment. When they arrived, Lan Huan gently wakes his boyfriend with a smile, the omega is affectionate as he wakes up but then grumbles. “Now I have to get up.. I was comfortable too..” Lan Huan chuckles and after taking handfuls of stuff and follows behind him, passing the second and third floor the alpha’s anxiety grows finding his pregnant omega is on the fourth floor. “You have to walk this.. Every day..?”

The omega simply hums and unlocks the front door before kicking aside some things to make a pathway on the floor. Lan Huan nearly drops everything when he sees the room, he wasn’t kidding when he said it was small, fear continues to creep up in him about trusting the omega alone in this messy death trap. He’s reluctant to leave and grab the rest of the stuff before closing the apartment door behind him. Wei Ying flushes and tries to tidy up a little before looking at how more cramp the room looks with all the shopping bags.

Wei Ying is tempted to accept the alpha’s earlier offer of moving in but remembering the situation with Lan Zhan he doesn’t want to make a mistake and further ruin things. Instead he bites back the urge to say yes and simply turns his attention to the alpha. “Do you think if you’ve got the free time you can maybe help me clean up? It’s not a big bump but it’s still kinda hard to bend over with..”

He’s quick to agree to help clean, he wouldn’t be able to rest comfortably knowing the pregnant omega could hurt himself at any time in this mess. “How about I call off tomorrow and the day after using some of my Alpha days and we get this place more suited and safe for a pregnant omega just.. Sit somewhere safe okay? I’ll start helping now.”

Wei Ying takes a seat on the only real chair in the apartment and giggles as he watches the alpha make a call about the next two days off. Even if he wasn’t written on paper as his alpha he was glad that his days off were accepted. Lan Huan wasted no time getting to work on cleaning and as simple as this whole thing was it felt domesticated and the feeling made his heart flutter.

If things could just stay like this he’d be happy, but he knew it couldn’t as long as things were strained with Lan Zhan. Taking the large teddy bear they just bought he snuggled it and watched the alpha clean. “It’ll be okay soon.. I know it..” he mumbled.

Chapter Text

Lan Zhan had been avoiding the two for a little under two weeks and by then Lan Huan was fed up with his brother’s cold shoulder. He could tolerate being ignored but seeing how hurt Wei Ying was from being ignored he finally put his foot down.

Today was the day Wei Ying would try and talk to Lan Zhan, after verifying by the male at the desk that he was in his office the two made their way over there. Wiping the sweat off his palms Wei Ying gave a steady knock on the door, a muffled ‘come in’ was heard and Lan Huan waited outside as the omega slipped inside.

Upon seeing the omega Lan Zhan kept his gaze glued to the papers in front of him continuing to write as if the omega wasn’t there. Wei Ying leaned against the door for a few minutes before making his way further in, after taking a seat on one of the couches he simply looks over the alpha. Lan Zhan looks exhausted, dark circles forming under his eyes, he looks more pale than normal which has him worried. Has he been eating since they stopped talking?

Tired of the silence Wei Ying rubs his sweaty palms on his pants again before trying to speak. “Lan Zhan.. I’m sorry for not noticing your feelings sooner..” Unable to look at the alpha he quickly glances down at his hands, fingers playing with the hem of his shirt. “You know I was really happy to hear you wanted to take care of me in the beginning..” A glance over and he noticed Lan Zhan had stopped writing.

“You know that day you stormed off I didn’t realize how much it hurt me.. The feeling of my alpha abandoning me--” Lan Zhan cut in, “My brother is your alpha.” Emotions began to rise in the omega at his words. “Just because I decided to give him a shot doesn’t make him my alpha!” Wei Ying shouted causing the alpha to look up at him in slight surprise.

Tears began to trickle down Wei Ying’s cheeks, fingers tightening around the hem of his shirt. “I want.. I want to give you both a shot..” shaking his head he corrects himself, “No.. I want both of you.. I know it’s selfish but in the beginning you were there for me.. And I felt so comfortable and happy with you beside me..”

Wei Ying grabbed the tissue box near by and began to pull tissues out to blow his nose and wipe away the tears that seemed never ending. “And then when Lan Huan suddenly asked if the pups were his.. He got on his knees and asked so earnestly to be allowed in the pups lives..” he choked out through sobs trying to catch his breath. “I was so happy.. But so afraid because I didn’t know how to reply.. I came to accept everything.. That you’d be there for me and that he’d never know..”

He stopped and took a minute to try and focus on breathing before continuing. “My plan was to just to be happy with you by my side.. And that eventually if you were comfortable about it, even get a place together..”

The mention of moving in together had Lan Zhan noticeably shocked, Wei Ying looked at him and the two stared at each other. It took everything for Lan Zhan to not rush over to the hyperventilating omega covered in tears and snot. “Lan Huan asked me to move in with him.. I turned him down.. It’d feel so wrong moving into a house with him but not you..”

Unable to sit there any longer Lan Zhan stood up and quickly moved around his desk to the omega and placed a hand to his cheek. “Wei Ying breathe, you have to calm down.. You could hurt the babies..” The moment the alpha was within reach Wei Ying latched onto him and shook his head quickly, the fact that Lan Zhan had touched him is the only thing that races to his mind. 

Everything else is ignored in favour of latching onto him in hopes he won’t try and run away and leave him behind again. “Wei Ying look at me.. You need to even your breathing..!” The door suddenly opening catches him off guard but after seeing who it is he relaxes. “Wei Ying your going to faint you need to calm down.” Lan Huan panics.

Their words fall on deaf ears as Wei Ying’s full attention is on Lan Zhan holding the alpha with a deathly tight grip. However the grip is quickly lost and the two panic as they witness the omega faint and are quick to catch and cushion him to avoid hurting the babies or himself.

After laying him on the couch the two give him a look over and after a deep sigh Lan Huan is the first to speak. “I think we need to talk brother..” Lan Zhan simply hums and nods, brushing some strands of hair from Wei Ying’s face he turned his attention to his brother.

“I don’t plan on giving up being with Wei Ying.. after everything that happened, I don’t want to give up on trying to make this work.” The elder brother spoke taking a seat on the other couch, Lan Zhan clenched his fists before taking a seat beside him “I don’t want to give up either… I love Wei Ying..”

Awkward silence filled the room as the two simply sat there trying to figure out how to proceed from there. After several minutes of watching Wei Ying sleep Lan Zhan glances over to his brother before turning his gaze back to the omega. “I’m sorry for punching you..”

Lan Huan chuckles and looks at his brother placing a hand gently on his head. “Apology accepted..” Seeing his brother’s ears turn red at the action he smiles but it’s quickly gone as he speaks. “Brother.. Hear me out before you say anything okay?”

The alpha nods and turns his attention to his brother, Lan Huan exhales and looks at the sleeping omega. “It’s obvious Wei Ying returns my feelings, he wanted to make this work between us..” Lan Zhan’s sharp inhale doesn’t go unnoticed before he continues. “But.. he clearly has feelings for you as well. I won’t make him choose I’m not that cruel, he’s in a sensitive state right now and I don’t want him stressed anymore.”

Lan Zhan gives a hum of agreement at the comment, he misses seeing Wei Ying smiling and knowing as of recent he was the cause of his tears and stress. “So I propose we both date him, you heard him yourself that he wanted both of us.” The younger brother bites his lip at the idea and his fingers tighten around his slacks. “He loves us both and we love him, your my brother and I love you. If I was to be in a poly relationship I’d feel very comfortable knowing our other partner was you.”

The alpha’s ears go red again at his brothers words and he hides half his face behind a hand, he agrees. “If it was anyone else I probably wouldn’t consider it.” Lan Huan finished. The younger alpha rubs his face a little before looking to the omega then to his brother. “Alright, if he agrees, I see no problem with this arrangement.”

Chapter Text

A sudden moan and movement at the corner of his eye caused Lan Zhan to look up from his papers at his desk. Seeing Wei Ying trying to sit up he quickly got up and stumbled trying to get to the omega, ears flushed he stilled seeing Wei Ying’s gaze locked onto him. The omega choked back a snicker at watching the usually graceful alpha stumble over his own feet.

Lan Zhan helped the omega upright and crouched in front of him letting his hands rest comfortably on Wei Ying’s knees. “How long was I out for?” Lan Zhan gave a hum and brushed some stray hairs out of the other’s face. “An hour or two..” Wei Ying hummed back and rubbed gently at his now sore eyes.

“We sat down and talked.. While you were asleep..” Lan Zhan began, “We talked..and if you were comfortable we’d like to make this work, the three of us.. Together..”

He could barely believe what he was hearing, Wei Ying grabbed onto Lan Zhan and smiled pulling him into a gentle kiss. The alpha hesitantly returned it and let his hands slid up his thighs to his hips, the smallest of smiles on his lips.

“My brother and I are rarely at our own homes.. So we can go looking for a new place for the three of us..” he paused in thought. “No.. the five of us.” he corrected himself.

Wei Ying was in tears again, he didn’t have to pick between the two of them now. “C-can I really be selfish and have both of you..?” Lan Zhan gave a faint ‘mn’ and watched as the omega tried to crawl onto his lap. “Wait..”

Taking a seat beside him he pulled the plump omega onto his lap and watched as he got comfortable. Wei Ying pulled the edges of Lan Zhan’s white coat around himself slightly and took in the warm scent of cinnamon from the other.

The two sat there for what felt like ages, Wei Ying drifting off in the alpha’s comforting scent. Lan Zhan’s large warm hand gently rubbing patterns onto the omega’s back, while his other hand carefully strokes at his growing tummy soothing not only him but the pups inside.

A soft knock on the door breaks the silence and Lan Zhan looks over to see his brother sneaking in. Wei Ying notices the new scent in the room and before Lan Huan can say anything the omega is reaching an arm out to the male.

Lan Huan sits beside his brother and lets the omega take his hand, the alpha’s watch as Wei Ying plays with his fingers. “It’s unfair.. You both have such nice big, warm hands..” he mumbled.

“Are you cold? We should get you home, the hospital isn’t exactly the warmest place.” Lan Huan mentions. Wei Ying gave a whine at having to move but the thought of being in a warm comfortable bed sounds perfect right now.

“I don’t wanna go to my apartment though.. It’s cold and I can’t make my nest comfortable enough to sleep well..”

Lan Zhan hummed and brushed stray strands out of the others face. “What about my house? It’s the closest.” Wei Ying perked up at the thought, he’d never seen Lan Zhan’s house yet and in all honesty he knew it would probably be on the empty side but he was still curious.

“Yes!” Lan Huan gave a chuckle at the omega’s sudden enthusiasm and stood collecting Wei Ying’s things and held his jacket open. “Alright, jacket Wei Ying.”

The omega stood with the younger alpha’s help and happily sunk into the fur lined coat. Lan Huan smiled and took his hand trying to warm him up, Lan Zhan moved to sign out of his computer and grabbed all of their bags before leaving the office. The brothers stopped to drop off their things at the lockers and the three made their way home.

When they got home the brothers found themselves watching Wei Ying bicker about discomfort and watched him struggle to get out of the car before the omega called them out. “Aiya stop watching and help!” Lan Zhan left his brother to help him while he carried their things to the front door and set everything inside.

“Twenty some weeks and I’m so exhausted.. I’m not even that fat.. I’ll get fatter you know.” Lan Huan hummed to acknowledge he was listening as the omega rambled. Once inside he hung their coats and watched as Wei Ying toddled off to look around.

“Wow, you two really are brothers.. You even furnish the same.. And by furnish I mean there’s like nothing here.” He stated bluntly, the brothers looked at one another unable to really argue his words. The Lan family had always been fairly minimalist when it came to their home and it helped since they were both hardly home to really need most of it.

The elder brother wandered into the kitchen to start tea when Wei Ying yelled out. “Sheesh this place is so empty we might as well just move in here.. It’s close enough for you boys to go back and forth to work easily.” Lan Zhan found the omega in one of the empty bedrooms and watched him turn around.

“Why are there so many extra empty rooms? I swear I’ve been in like five empty rooms..” He giggled. The alpha hummed and walked closer to rest his hands on Wei Ying’s belly. “When I bought the house..” he began, “I knew I’d have pups one day and wanted there to be plenty of space. I didn’t want to have to move to make space.”

Wei Ying placed his hands over Lan Zhan’s and listened intently, tears were quick to blossom and Lan Zhan panicked. Moving his hands to brush the tears away Wei Ying leaned the best he could into him and blubbered out, “That’s so sweet!”

Tea long forgotten Lan Huan made his way over when he heard Wei Ying’s cries echo throughout the house. The brothers shared a look and instantly the two were all over the omega trying to sooth him.

It didn’t take long for the sniffles and tears to stop before Wei Ying tried to nudge them away for some space. “M’hungry..” he sniffled. Lan Huan laughed and brushed strands of hair away from the omega’s face. “Let’s make dinner together.” 

He hummed and rubbed at his tummy before toddling past the two. “And by together that’s you two, my feet hurt.” Wei Ying hummed and took a seat on the couch. “Not even a TV Lan Zhan? For shame.”

Lan Zhan rolled his eyes, his brother gently patting his shoulder. “We’ll get one soon dear.” Wei Ying perked up at the pet name and turned himself some to watch the boys start dinner.

“I do agree that moving here would be easier than trying to look for a new house, it would take a lot of work if we did that.” Lan Huan paused to set some things on the table. “Like you said dear, this place is close to the hospital so we don’t have far to travel.”

The two hummed and Lan Huan continued, “I’ll call in and take a week off to pack my things to bring over.” Wei Ying snorted and lied his head on his hand staring at the two. “Not that I imagine you have a lot..”

Lan Huan simply smiled and looked over his shoulder to the omega. “The week is for moving your crap A-Ying.” Wei Ying choked on his saliva at the words coming from his beloved Lan Huan, even Lan Zhan was a little shocked at his brother’s choice of words.

They worked in silence before Lan Zhan decided to speak up. “I’ll take a week off too, Wei Ying can’t lift much and I’d feel bad making you take care of everything alone brother.” At that Wei Ying gave a loud whine and sunk further into the couch. “You guys make me feel so useless! How mean!”

“Not at all.” Lan Huan walked over to help the omega to his feet now that dinner was done. “I was hoping you’d take care of our meals, I rather enjoy your delicious lunches.” Wei Ying smiled and ran his finger over his nose at the compliment. “I guess I do huh~?”

Dinner was anything but quiet, Wei Ying rambled about all sort of things as the brothers listened and cleaned up his occasional messes when he got too into what he was talking about.

Food eaten and dishes cleaned, Lan Zhan led the two into his bedroom for nightwear. Since his brother had a slightly larger build he simply handed him some pajama bottoms and a pair for himself as well. Wei Ying watched the two change and pouted feeling left out in his uncomfortable daywear.

“Aiya what about me? Are you tryin to say I’m too fat to wear your clothes?” Lan Huan chuckled from his place at the bed, rearranging things to fit them better. “You are not fat Wei Ying.” Lan Zhan grabbed a button up sleepwear shirt that was even too big on him and handed it to the omega trying to find a pair of pants for him.

“I don’t need pants, they probably would get in the way.” Wei Ying was giddy as he stripped his clothes and pulled on the large button up, giving himself a look over in the mirror he giggled. “It’s like a dress!”

The brothers shared a look, while the idea of ravaging Wei Ying was tempting the two knew to refrain from their urges. “I call middle! Wait no, I’m gonna pee a lot so not the middle..” Wei Ying whined torn between easy access to pee or being in between his alphas. “Screw it I call middle!”

Wei Ying took his place in the middle and Lan Huan was the first to lay beside him and let the omega use his arm as a pillow. Lan Zhan let them get comfortable before joining them after he turned off the bedside lamp. It took several minutes for everyone to get remotely comfortable before someone finally spoke. “Looks like we’ll need a bigger bed too..”

The omega didn’t know who said it but he snorted and stared at the ceiling. “Is that a fat joke?” The three laughed before finally getting comfortable, despite the small bed Wei Ying quickly fell asleep embraced in the scent and warmth of his alpha’s.

“Wei Ying..” The omega moved in his sleep trying to avoid the nudging on his shoulder. “Sweetheart wake up, breakfast is ready.” Lan Huan took a seat beside his lover and brushed his hair out of his face, leaving a gentle kiss on the side of his face. “We’ve got a busy day ahead of us, come on, up up.”

He grumbled, reluctant to wake up so early. “Maybe if I had a kiss I could wake up.. A real one..” Lan Huan gave a soft chuckle and watched as Wei Ying turned to face him. “You drive a hard bargain my love.” He hovered over the other and placed a kiss on his lips, before he could pull away however Wei Ying pulled him back in for a deeper kiss.

A knock came to the open door and a throat cleared, Wei Ying pulled back from the kiss with a lick of his lips and looked at Lan Zhan at the doorway. “Morning kiss~?” Lan Zhan hummed, the brothers switched places, as soon as he sat he was pulled down into a deep kiss. Pulling back the two helped the omega sit upright, Lan Huan grabbed slippers and Lan Zhan grabbed a blanket to wrap around Wei Ying’s shoulders.

Wei Ying simply watched the two and gave a faint grin, not even fully moved in yet and these two were doing everything for him. “Ah!” he clapped his hands together catching their attention and pointed between the two with a mischievous grin. “Where’s the good morning kiss between you two?” he teased.

Lan Zhan eyed his brother who did the same, yes they’d made the agreement to share Wei Ying but their own relationship hadn’t been fully addressed yet. Wei Ying stood with a hand to his lower back and waved his hand in dismissal. “I’m kidding, I’m sure it’s weird enough for you two to sleep in the same bed again since you were probably children.”

Lan Huan was the first to break eye contact and looked to their boyfriend, while it was true it was a little weird he knew it would take a bit for the three of them to fall into everything comfortably. “I’m gonna pee, I’ll be out for breakfast shortly.” Wei Ying mumbled and shuffled his way to the bathroom, Lan Zhan left the room with his brother and the two began to set the table.

When breakfast was done and over, the three sat at the table in discussion of plans for the day. “I was thinking we should collect all of Wei Ying’s things first to move here, he--no offense sweetie,” Lan Huan placed a hand over Wei Ying’s before continuing. “He won’t be much use with helping on moving any of my stuff.” The omega snorted and pinched the top of Lan Huan’s hand, who in return flinched and quickly pulled his hand away to rub at it.

“I agree, since I’m so fat and useless we’ll just move my stuff first. Then you guys can take care of everything else.” The brothers looked to the clearly irritated omega then looked to one another in slight fear. “Brother meant no harm, he simply wishes you’ll rest more and keep off your feet.. He worries you’ll overwork yourself.. myself included.” Lan Huan glanced at his brother happy for his words but something told him it’d be futile.

“Oh! So you think I’ll be in the way!” The alpha’s flinched and scooted away in their seats slightly. “Not at all!” they replied in sync. Wei Ying stood from his chair still irritated and turned away. “Whatever let’s get this over with..”

“I thought I would be prepared for mood swings..” he sighed, “but I guess I was wrong..” Lan Zhan whispered to his brother who nodded at him. “Agreed..” Wei Ying looked at them from the hallway and yelled. “What are you two whispering about?!” They separated and stood, Lan Zhan turned to take care of the dishes and whispered again to his brother. “Help him get dressed..”

Lan Huan blinked and squinted at his brother. “Why me?” Wei Ying yelled for someone to help him get dressed from the bedroom and Lan Zhan gave a small smirk. “You knocked him up..” The elder Lan gave a slight grumble at his brother’s cocky statement, he wasn’t wrong after all. Lan Huan gave a sigh and went off to find their boyfriend and help him get ready.

By the time they made it to Wei Ying’s apartment, the younger Lan was relieved the moment they stepped out of their cars, Wei Ying had talked Lan Zhan’s ear off the entire ride causing him to almost miss four turns. Lan Huan approached his brother while their boyfriend waddled off inside. “Brother I feel the need to warn you a little, the apartment is quite a mess.. It’s rather run down and cramp especially with the things we bought..” Lan Zhan listened to his brother and despite the warning he was still shocked to see just how chaotic it was when they got inside.

Wei Ying had to walk up and down four flights of stairs every day on top of his travel to the hospital for work? Surely his pay wasn’t that little that he couldn’t have afforded something better than this run down apartment, he didn’t even own a bed or proper furniture, all he saw was a singular rickety looking chair.

Lan Huan set the stack of boxes he’d brought for packing aside and rolled his sleeves up, taking a hair tie he handed one to his boyfriend and brother. “Can you braid it again?” Wei Ying asked handing the hair tie back, Lan Huan hummed and did his hair before turning to his brother who just finished tying his up. 

“Pack up the baby stuff first, I wanna go through stuff and trash some things.” The omega turned away and went off shuffling around the apartment. Lan Huan gave a tired sigh before slicking his bangs back out of his face. “I helped you clean this all up not long ago.. How on earth it got this messy again is beyond me..” he mumbled to himself.

After a few hours practically everything was packed and ready to go, Wei Ying sat tiredly on the only chair in the room, rubbing at his tummy. “Here’s the key, whatever doesn’t fit in the cars you can just pick up later. I already chatted with the landlord earlier while you two were working, he says just to drop the key off with him when we’re all done.”

“What about the things you aren’t keeping?” Lan Zhan questioned curiously, Wei Ying waved his hand tiredly. “He said he’ll take care of it.” Lan Huan picked up a box and looked at his brother. “Since there’s so many floors how about we split the work up, you bring it half way down and I’ll take it to the cars and pack it all up?” Lan Zhan nodded and Wei Ying watched the two before giving a playful kick to the air. “Boring~”

Lan Huan chuckled and turned to kiss Wei Ying’s head. “I know, but after this I’ll take my car home and unpack, A-Zhan is going to stop by and look at a bigger bed. You’ll want to go I assume.” Wei Ying perked up and looked at Lan Zhan. “Really?! A new bed?!” Said male nodded and grabbed a box of his own to carry. “We’ll have a brand new bed tonight, promise.”

After leaving the omega in a better mood the two set out to pack as much as they could into their cars, after the last of it was packed the two sat on the stairs for a break. “You know with twins on the way we’ll have to get a bigger car.. And two car seats..” Lan Huan craned his head to look at his brother on the steps above him. “I can trade mine in for an SUV, it’s better to have two cars after all.”

“I forget Wei Ying doesn’t drive..” Lan Zhan mumbled. “Not that he can’t, he just doesn’t.. A car is expensive..” Lan Huan gestures to their surroundings before giving a tired sigh. “I mean look where he was living..”

The two sat in an uncomfortable silence until one of them spoke up first. “Do.. you know why he was living like this..?” Lan Huan shook his head and turned to his brother. “I guess you don’t know either..” The younger Lan gave a faint hum and the two fell back into silence. Giving an exhausted sigh Lan Huan stood and dusted himself off before turning to his brother.

“You take Wei Ying to look for a bed, I’ll take this all home and unpack it and come get anything that might be left.” Lan Zhan nodded and gave his brother the key, who in return shoved it in his pocket. “Should I look at cribs too? I noticed he didn’t have one..” Lan Huan nodded and rubbed tiredly at his neck. “He wouldn’t have had the space as you could clearly see.. He was going to keep them in his nest..”

The thought of his pups just lying in a nest unprotected sent a wave of discomfort and worry down Lan Zhan’s spine. “I’ll look at cribs, two nice ones.” The other male smiled and gave a gentle pat to his younger brother’s head. “Thanks, and keep it a secret. I want to surprise him.” He nodded and stood with his brother making their way back in to Wei Ying’s apartment.

“Took you long enough.. I wanna go look at beds, this chair is so uncomfortable.” Wei Ying rambled as he pulled himself to his feet. Lan Zhan brushed the sweat off his forehead and watched as the omega waddled over and began to sniff them. “Sorry, we can go home instead and I’ll shower before we go out..”

Wei Ying waved his hand and grabbed onto Lan Zhan’s arm sniffing the air between the two. “No that’s not it, you guys don’t stink.. Your natural scents are just super strong right now..” he flushed and looked away shyly. “It just turned me on a bit is all..” The tips of both alphas ears grew red at their omegas words, Lan Huan took a deep breath to calm himself and watched his brother struggle.

“Sweetheart let’s get you downstairs and off your feet, brother make sure we didn’t forget anything important.” Lan Zhan nodded thankfully to his brother and watched the two leave before exhaling and taking a quick seat.

After getting Wei Ying as comfortable as he could possibly be in a car, Lan Huan waited for his brother to finally come down. He gave his boyfriend a kiss before making way to his own car, as soon as Lan Zhan got in the driver seat Wei Ying squirmed and reached out to hold his hand. “Wei Ying I need to drive..”

“But I wanna hold your hand..” he teared up, Lan Zhan panicked and pulled off his jacket before handing it over. “Will this work till we get there?” Wei Ying gasped and buried his face into the sweaty garment with a squeal. “Yes!” Lan Zhan scrunched his nose in minor disgust before heading the opposite direction as his brother. “It really doesn’t stink..?”

Wei Ying shook his head and wrapped the oversize jacket around himself best he could with his seat belt on. For once the ride was quiet given Wei Ying had fallen asleep, when they arrived he woke his boyfriend and let him wander to look at beds before slipping away to look at cribs quickly in secret.

The search for a bed didn’t take long, Lan Zhan knew his brother and himself could sleep on almost anything, it was entirely up to Wei Ying on the firm or softness of the mattress. When it came to figuring out if it’d fit all three of them the two lied down and despite the confusion the person showing them joined them as well when asked.

Wei Ying continued to lay in the bed they’d pick while Lan Zhan spoke about delivery, and in secret included the two cribs being added as well. After paying he turned to find his boyfriend drifting off again and quickly woke him. “Wei Ying let’s go home, you can nap in the car.” Despite the whines and protests about how uncomfortable sleeping in the car was he reluctantly got up and followed him.

Once home Wei Ying shuffled inside and quickly located Lan Huan to give him a kiss, he’d stopped the unpacking of the omega’s things and held him close as best he could. “You pick us out a good bed dear?” Wei Ying nodded and let his fingers gently run through his boyfriends short raven strands. “You should’ve seen the look on the face of the guy that helped us when we asked him to lie down with us!”

Lan Huan gave a worried and confused look to his brother who only gestured for him to continue listening. “I asked him to lie with us and he looked so confused, I didn’t explain I just said I wanted to make sure there was plenty of space.. Needless to say the bed is huge!” He chuckled and kissed the omega’s forehead before pulling back. “You should be resting, I’m sure your feet hurt.”

“I don’t want feet anymore..” Wei Ying whined suddenly reminded of his swollen feet. “Here sit on the couch and I’ll come rub your feet okay?” The omega nodded excitedly and shuffled off to sit and wait, Lan Zhan moved to his brother when he was alone and updated him about the delivery of the mattress and cribs. They’d have a few hours until they showed up. The brothers were quick to bring the remaining things from Lan Zhan's car into the house before both of them returned to pamper their omega.

Lan Huan sat on the floor rubbing Wei Ying’s feet while Lan Zhan sat beside him gently rubbing at the large bump. “These two are driving me crazy..” Lan Zhan decided to try something and positioned himself closer to Wei Ying’s stomach, the elder Lan stopped his massage and watched curiously.

“Little ones behave, your mother has had a long day.. It’s time to calm down and let him rest..” Lan Zhan laid a hand on Wei Ying’s stomach and felt the movement die down, Wei Ying let out a surprised gasp and looked at his boyfriend. “They really stopped moving around.. Amazing Lan Zhan~!” The alpha flushed and sat upright, Lan Huan smiled and leaned forward to place a kiss to Wei Ying’s tummy. “That’s my pups, behave for us okay? You’ll be out in no time.”

The three made small talk about little things until the doorbell rang, Lan Zhan went to answer it and Lan Huan stood to join him. Wei Ying pouted but kept still knowing he’d just be in the way for now, instead he watched as two movers came in and were led to the bedroom. He overheard them talking about taking the old mattress and frame with them and when it suddenly got noisy he turned his head to try and peek.

Lan Huan came over and brushed Wei Ying’s bangs back some to kiss his forehead. “Sorry it’s loud, they are taking the old frame apart for us.” He hummed and pulled his alpha into a gentle kiss before tugging him to come around. “Help me up, gotta pee.” Lan Huan chuckled and obliged pulling him to his feet.

Wei Ying totted off and Lan Huan was brought back into the bedroom to chat with his brother and the movers. After going to the bathroom Wei Ying watched people come and go with various things, he moved into the kitchen and got to making some quick and easy sandwiches.

It’d been long enough since the two got here and even though working hard was their job the omega felt the need to reward them in some way outside of the pay they were getting. The omega kept his place in the kitchen and yelled for all four of them to come join him, the alpha’s were surprised when they entered to see various cut up sandwiches on the table with drinks and chips. “Break time, get something in those tummies everyone.”

The two movers tried to protest but Wei Ying made it hard for them to turn it down. “A-are you saying you won’t eat them? After how much time and energy I put into all of this..” Turning on the water works Wei Ying watched as the two sat down and began to eat, he smirked and looked at his alphas before gesturing them to sit. “Behave.” he whispered sternly.

Lan Huan gave a hard swallow and joined at the table to eat, Lan Zhan gave a minor look of irritation as he sat and glanced at the movers. Wei Ying joined the four and made small talk all on his own, completely ignoring the unsettling aura he’d created.

When everyone finished eating the movers thoroughly thanked him before getting back to work, Wei Ying eyed the less then happy alpha’s and snorted. “Would you two stop being so grumpy? I wasn’t about to not include them in a break, they are working hard.” Lan Zhan grumbled. “It’s their job..” Lan Huan shook his head faintly at his brother to shut up.

“Oh?” Lan Huan rubbed his face and Lan Zhan felt a chill run down his back. “Speaking of job, technically you should be at yours.. Did you even properly call off today?” Before Lan Zhan could speak Wei Ying turned to the elder brother, sparing no one from his scolding. “And you! Did you call off either?”

Lan Huan’s lips moved but words refused to come out, why was he getting dragged into this? “We did, before I got you up. We both called the next few days off.” Wei Ying gave them the stink eye before letting them off the hook. “Alright go do whatever you were doing, scat.” He shooed them away and took care of the dishes before wandering off to the boxes of his that were still packed.

The movers finished after awhile and left, Wei Ying shuffled around the living room putting things away and giving the empty space a dusting and quick sweep. The brothers entered the room and both quickly panicked seeing their boyfriend lifting a box. “Wei Ying!”

Startled said male turned around and smiled. “Done already? What on earth were you two trying to hide? I got so bored I started cleaning.” Lan Zhan plucked the box from his hands and Lan Huan tried to steer the omega over to the couch. “Ooo I’m not that useless you guys! I wasn’t lifting anything heavy!”

They watched as Wei Ying ranted, despite being yelled at they simply stood there and watched their cute boyfriend waddle back and forth, entranced by his adorable pouty face. Noticing neither of the alpha’s were listening he tugged on both of their ears and pulled them down to his height. “You weren’t listening!”

“Ahah sorry dear, I got lost in how cute you are.” Lan Huan hissed softly at the tug that came after. “Cheeky.. I bet you’ll say the same thing too huh?” he said turning his attention to Lan Zhan who simply hummed. “You two I swear..” Wei Ying sighed and before he could waddle to the couch was pulled against Lan Zhan’s chest. “Wait..”

“What now? Flattery won’t make my feet hurt any less..” Lan Huan chuckled and the two lead Wei Ying to one of the empty extra rooms. “Surprise.” Lan Huan pushed the door open and Wei Ying gasped as he stepped inside. He let his hands run over the wood of one of the cribs and felt himself start to tear up. “How? When?”

“The movers took so long because we had them help us build these and put some shelf's up.. We paid them extra, don’t worry.” Lan Huan watched the omega roam around the room and take everything in. “The dresser has some of the pups clothes in it already, the closet has the diapers and wipes for now until we get a changing table.”

Wei Ying let his tears out as he pulled the two alpha’s into his arms. “Thank you so much.. I’m so lucky, I don’t deserve one amazing boyfriend let alone two..” Lan Zhan let his arms wrap around his boyfriend and brother pulling them close. “Nonsense, you deserve the best.” Lan Huan nodded in agreement with his brother and placed a kiss on Wei Ying’s wet cheek.

He continued to cry and the brothers slowly led him to their bedroom to show him the new bed. “Look, now we have a proper bed to fit all three of us.” Lan Zhan sat on the edge of the bed and Wei Ying shuffled closer to stand between his legs. “It looks so much bigger than when it was at the store..” he sniffled out.

“It’s pretty empty so I thought we could get some more pillows so when one of us isn’t here it doesn’t feel so big and empty.” Lan Huan came up behind the omega and placed his hands on either side of the omega’s tummy, Lan Zhan’s hands soon joined his brother’s and he placed a kiss at the center. “And when they are born and have nightmares.. They’ll have plenty of room to join us..” Lan Zhan added.

Wei Ying began to cry again and leaned back against the elder alpha before hiding his face in his hands. “I really don’t deserve this..” he cried, Lan Huan peppered kisses all over his head and shoulder. “But you do Wei Ying.. you mean the world to me, to my brother.. And to our future pups..” Lan Zhan gave a few more kisses to Wei Ying’s tummy before resting his head gently on it. “Even our pups agree.. You deserve happiness Wei Ying.”

He looked down at the alpha and let his fingers tangle in the long raven locks. “You're making that up..” Lan Zhan pulled back and shook his head faintly. “I can feel it, I know they agree.. You're worrying the pups.. You need to breathe and calm down.” Wei Ying stared confused but moved to take a seat on the bed. “I’m going to go shower, lay with A-Zhan for now okay? We’ll switch when I’m out.”

Wei Ying nodded and with his alpha’s help he snuggled up against Lan Zhan, his brother left and Lan Zhan gently put his forehead against Wei Ying’s, his hand gently rubbing his tummy. “It’s been a long day.. How about we get take out?” he offered. Wei Ying hummed and tiredly thought about it, he wasn’t in the mood to cook and he knew the boys were just as exhausted. “Sure, I want pizza..”

“Wei Ying..” Lan Zhan’s voice was firm but held no bite as he chastised him. “I want pizza! Oh maybe Korean.. Lan Zhan I’m so hungry I feel like I’m gonna die!” He gave a chuckle knowing that was impossible and simply ran his fingers through Wei Ying’s hair. “I’ll talk with my brother..”

When Lan Huan came out he dressed and switched places with his brother to shower next, Wei Ying demanded him be the big spoon and let the omega use his arm as a pillow. “Can we get pizza or something? Lan Zhan suggested we get take out and I’m starved..”

Lan Huan gave it a thought and hummed, perhaps one night of junk food wouldn’t be so bad for the omega. “Alright, as soon as my brother’s out we’ll call and order.” Wei Ying squirmed happily and turned his head to pepper his boyfriend’s jaw with kisses before rambling about the things he wanted on it. Lan Huan gave a look of discomfort at the appalling sounding pizza and decided they’d need at least two, very different pizzas to eat.

When the pizza arrived the three sat together in the living room, Lan Huan set his laptop up as a makeshift TV providing Wei Ying with some entertainment. Part way into eating Wei Ying’s phone began to ring, one of them grabbed his phone for him and the omega answered with a mouthful of pizza.

“Wei Ying that’s rude..” One of them mumbled, he swallowed and stuck his tongue out before giving his attention to the person on the other end. “Having fun Wei Ying?”

“Jiang Yanli!” Wei Ying sat up a bit more and grinned. “I am, I got pizza~”

A giggle came from the other end and Wei Ying set his phone on speaker before balancing it on his stomach to stuff his face. “I’m glad you're enjoying yourself, how’s everything been? I know you told me you were moving today.”

“It’s been a long tiring day, we moved everything over and got a new bed.” He sighed tiredly and Lan Huan chuckled. “You didn’t even do any of the hard work dear..” Wei Ying swatted at his boyfriend and heard Jiang Yanli laughing again. “Am I on speaker?”

“You are, I need two hands for the pizza~” Another giggle and Lan Zhan rolled his eyes before wiping the omega’s mouth for him. “Or you could be polite and wait to eat until--”

“Nope!” Wei Ying cut in and another laugh from the female. “Well I won’t keep you long, I wanted to check in on you and invite you and the boys over for dinner sometime soon.” The brother’s turned their attention to the female and Wei Ying paused mid bite. “Invite us for dinner?”

“Yeah, I thought it’d be nice to have us all together and bond.. If the boys aren’t comfortable they don’t have to.. I know they might feel a little uncomfortable since I haven’t talked with them as much as I have with you.” Wei Ying could hear the worry in her voice and gave a look to his boyfriends.

“I don’t mind.” Lan Huan replied.

“Me neither.” Lan Zhan added.

Wei Ying smiled and wiped his greasy fingers off before lifting his phone up. “That’s wonderful!” They picked the day after tomorrow to come over and Jiang Yanli gave them the address, after punching it into his phone Lan Huan was surprised to see she wasn’t far from them at all.

After their goodbyes Wei Ying set his phone aside and broke into a fit of little excited giggles. “Someone’s excited.” Lan Zhan cleaned Wei Ying’s face again causing the omega to pout. “I am! It’s my first time being invited for dinner by a friend..” he gave a soft smile and the brothers gave each other a sad look.

When dinner was finished the brothers took care of the mess and sent Wei Ying off to shower, by the time he came out the brothers were ready for bed and had pajamas waiting for him. He changed and Lan Zhan dried his hair for him as he watched the omega doze off. “Alright, let’s get you into bed.”

Wei Ying excitedly waddled over to the bed and with Lan Huan’s help lied in the middle. He let out a loud moan and felt his aches slowly fade away from how comfortable the mattress was. Lan Zhan froze mid climb at the moan and glanced at his brother who simply mouthed ‘I think he likes the mattress’. Lan Huan laid his arm out for the omega and pulled his back to his chest, Lan Zhan turned the light off and lied facing the others.

“Now I don’t feel so fat in this bed.” The alpha’s chuckled and Wei Ying lied one of his hands on each brother before drifting off, the two gave a soft ‘good night’ and were quick to join the omega in slumber.

Bonus

Wei Ying woke in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and upon returning he froze at the side of the bed and simply stared at the sight in front of him. Having moved his boyfriends tried to find him in their sleep, only to end up grabbing onto one another. He watched as Lan Huan pulled his brother against his chest, his fingers finding home in his hair. Wei Ying quickly covered his mouth trying his best to avoid waking either of them, he grabbed his phone from the side table and quickly moved to get the best angle he could for multiple photos.

Softly snickering he set his phone aside and climbed back into bed behind Lan Zhan, despite the difficulties with his stomach he spooned the younger Lan. He buried his face into the back of his neck and tangled a leg with their's before falling back asleep.

When the brother's woke next morning Lan Huan was the first to react, he stared at his brother in slight horror before panic hit him. Where was Wei Ying? Realizing his brother's worry he tried to sit up but was pulled back down by a weight on his hair. Lan Huan looked over his brother to find their boyfriend curled up against Lan Zhan's back, the brothers sighed in relief before putting distance between them. "I'll get breakfast started since your a little stuck." Lan Zhan gave a soft 'hm' and lied back down, gradually turning himself over to pull Wei Ying to his chest.

The ride to Jiang Yanli’s was filled with nervous chatter from Wei Ying, nervousness collided with his sensitive state causing him to roller coaster with questions of Will they like me? What if they don’t? What if they don’t approve of our relationship? I don’t care if they do, it's our life not theirs.. But what if they say it’s disgusting? Do I look okay? I feel so fat and ugly, I don’t want them to see me let’s cancel and turn back around.

Lan Huan parked the car in the driveway and turned to face his lover. “Wei Ying look at me.” Teary eyes locked onto his and Lan Huan felt a smile rise to his lips. “They will love you, whether they approve of our relationship doesn’t matter.. Jiang Yanli is your friend and she supports us.” he brushed away the tears rolling down the omega’s cheeks and continued. “You look absolutely breathtaking, you aren’t fat.. You're carrying two precious pups.”

The younger Lan adjusted himself in the back seat to reach forward and softly stroke Wei Ying’s cheek, who in return leaned into his hand. “It’ll be fine, you're stressing yourself and the pups.. Breathe.”

Wei Ying nodded and took a few deep breaths before struggling to get out of the car, Lan Zhan got out and held his hand for support and reassurance. Lan Huan took his other side and locked the car before following them to the front door.

Lan Zhan was the one to ring the doorbell and the second it rang there was a barking, Wei Ying stiffened beside him and he could quickly tell something was wrong. The door opened and as soon as it opened wide enough, Wei Ying took a step back to avoid the excited dog that tried to worm its way past the male in the doorway. A scream slipped from Wei Ying’s mouth as he tried to step further away, his foot slipping off the edge of the platform he was on and his back bumping into Lan Huan who caught him just in time.

The Lan’s panicked at the sudden events and the male in the doorway was quick to grab the dog’s collar. “I’m so sorry. Is he afraid of dogs?” No one answered due to shock as Jiang Yanli ran up to Wei Ying.

“Put Fairy in our bedroom honey..” she turns her attention to the omega and places a cool hand to his cheek. “I’m so sorry I should’ve told you we had a dog, I’m so sorry.” Rapidly looking around Wei Ying finds his gaze falling to the female before shaking his head. “I-it’s okay, I.. that was so embarrassing..”

Wei Ying hid his face in his hands, Lan Zhan pulled him close letting the omega hide his face in his shoulder. The male from before returns and takes in the view in their doorway. “I’ve put him in a different room, please come in it’s cold outside.” Lan Huan is the first to step inside followed by everyone else, Jiang Yanli gave them all slippers and hung their coats before leading them to the living room to sit.

She pulled out a blanket and draped it over Wei Ying’s shoulders before taking a seat beside him in hopes of calming him. Lan Zhan stroked at the omega’s hair before leaning over to kiss the top of his head. He’d never seen the male react that way before and it made his heart ache, just what happened to him?

Much calmer than before, Wei Ying gave the room a look over before his eyes fell on someone he doesn’t recognize. “Alright! Introductions!” Jiang Yanli stands between the two parties and introduces everyone causing Wei Ying to stand to shake hands, something suddenly touching Wei Ying’s leg causes him to panic until Jiang Yanli rushes over to him. “A-Ling careful!” When she stands upright the omega practically melts at seeing the two year old, a soft squeal leaves Wei Ying’s lips as he reaches out to pinch the boys lil cheek.

“Pictures don’t do him justice, he’s so adorable!” Jin Ling flails his arms as if wanting to be put down and when he is set down he fusses at Wei Ying’s leg to be picked up. The omega hesitates before bending over the best he can to lift the small pup up onto his hip. “Oof what a big boy.”

Out of instinct both Lan’s step closer to their boyfriend in case he loses his balance, the male introduced as Jiang Cheng snorts from his seat and watches them. “A-Cheng be nice.” Jiang Yanli swats at her brother’s shoulder and turns back to the omega and her son. “A-Ling, this is mommy’s friend Wei Ying.”

Jin Ling’s fat little fingers grab onto Wei Ying’s shirt before tugging on it. “Weiwei!” A snort quickly exits Wei Ying at the name before giving the boy a little bounce on his hip. “Close enough.”

Wei Ying rubbed his cheek against Jin Ling who simply babbled happily, Jiang Yanli smiled before turning to both Lan’s. “Make yourself at home, dinner will be done shortly.”

Boyfriend’s long forgotten Wei Ying takes his seat back on the couch with Jin Ling sitting on what little lap space he has. Jiang Cheng watches the two and chuckles when Jin Ling points at Wei Ying’s stomach asking “What’s that?”

Jiang Cheng ruffles Jin Ling’s hair before leaning forward to explain to the boy that there’s two other little pups like him inside. Jin Ling gasps and places his hands on the omega’s tummy before pressing his face against it. “Siblings?” The two laughed and Wei Ying wiped away a tear before correcting him. “Not siblings, but it would make me very happy if you would be their friend.”

A look of determination (or constipation) falls over Jin Ling before he nods his head. “Come out friend, want to play..” Jiang Cheng laughs and scoops the child up before tickling him. “That’s not how that works brat.”

Wei Ying laughed and his gaze gradually drifted over to his alpha’s talking with Jiang Yanli and her husband. “Let’s see how long their conversation lasts..”

Wei Ying tilted his head towards Jiang Cheng curiously who in turn covered Jin Ling’s ears. “A-Jie’s husband is an arrogant bastard.. I’ve never liked him..” Jin Ling waved his uncle’s hands away and slid off his lap to grab a toy from the floor before handing it to Wei Ying. “But she loves him.. And he does treat her well..” Wei Ying hummed and took the toy before playing mindlessly with the boy.

“She mentioned how when they first met it wasn’t the greatest, I admire her for loving him for as long as she has despite his faults.” The omega watched the giggly boy and softly tapped his nose with his finger, watching with Jiang Cheng as Jin Ling ran off again. The beta looked over at his sister before turning his face away from the happy couple.

“No comment..” Wei Ying gave a giggle and gently elbowed the male.

Everyone chatted until dinner was done, Jin Ling threw a fit wanting to sit beside ‘Weiwei’ and after arranging the seats Jin Ling happily sat between his uncle and Weiwei. “He’s only met you and he’s so attached, usually he hates guests.” Wei Ying looked to Jin Zixuan and smiled. “I’m honored~”

The Lan brothers watched their boyfriend interact with the two year old and turned to whisper to one another. “I can’t wait to see the twins born.. He’ll be amazing.” Lan Zhan nodded at his brother’s words and reached over his brother to put Wei Ying’s braid over his shoulder to avoid Jin Ling grabbing at it.

“We’ll be the best fathers..” Lan Huan hummed in agreement.

Wei Ying turned to his boyfriends and gently bumped shoulders with Lan Huan. “What are you two whispering about?”

“Nothing sweetheart.” Lan Huan kissed Wei Ying’s head before turning his attention to the food in front of him. The alpha’s made chatter while the two omega’s and beta conversed with the occasional babble from the toddler who demanded Weiwei feed him. When dinner was finished Wei Ying carried Jin Ling off to the bathroom to wash his face and hands.

“I can tell he’ll be a great parent when the twins are born.” Jiang Yanli wiped down the table and glanced over at the Lan brothers.

“Since A-Ling likes him maybe we should have you babysit as practice.” Jin Zixuan half joked. Lan Huan hummed and looked at his brother, it didn’t sound like a bad idea to get a little bit of practice in. After all, neither of them had much experience in dealing with kids.

“I don’t see the problem in that, I’m sure A-Ying would be more than happy to take you up on that offer.”

“What offer?” Wei Ying entered the kitchen with Jin Ling hot on his heels.

“We were talking about you three babysitting for us, it’d be some practice for when the pups arrive.” Jiang Yanli set a cup of tea down on the table and Wei Ying sat back down.

“Really?!” She nodded and looked to Jin Ling who latched onto Wei Ying’s leg tiredly, the male bent forward some and pulled the sleepy toddler onto his lap. “I’ll do it~”

Lan Zhan moved to take a seat on the other side of his boyfriend and placed a hand gently on Jin Ling’s back. “Perfect~ How about sometime next week?” She asked, the brothers shared a look before one of them nodded. “Sounds fine to us.”

Wei Ying gave a tired giggle and softly nuzzled his nose against Jin Ling’s head. “I can’t wait..” he mumbled. Everyone turned their attention to the omega quietly as he continued. “To babysit.. To give birth.. Watch the pups grow up, I really hope Jin Ling will be their friend.” he paused again. “A real family..” Wei Ying muttered under his breath, with tears in his eyes he looked up at the married couple across from him. “Thank you… I can’t explain why but just.. Thank you..”

Jin Zixuan shifted in his seat uncomfortably. “Th-there’s no reason to thank us..” Despite his words he flushed for some unknown reason, he plucked a few tissues and handed it to the male.

Jiang Yanli smiled and reached forward to softly touch Wei Ying’s arm. “I won’t ask,” she paused and looked over at her husband before looking back at the omega. “But I will say this, you are always welcome here Wei Ying..” she paused and smiled at the two alpha’s. “All of you. If you ever need help don’t be afraid to call.”

Jin Zixuan nodded at his wife’s comments, arms crossed he turned his head away as if the whole conversation was pointless. “I guess I could give you my number, if my wife is unreachable I’ll help.” Jiang Yanli smiled and placed a quick kiss to her husband’s cheeks.

Wei Ying giggled and balled the tissues up in his hand, Jiang Cheng placed his hand forward and Wei Ying stared at his hand in confusion. “You weren’t as bad as I thought you’d be.. So I guess I could give you my number too.” He took the balled up tissues and tossed them before pulling his phone out.

As everyone began to trade numbers Wei Ying felt his heart ache, tears filled his eyes again and he quickly buried his face into the sleeping toddler’s hair. Lan Zhan watched his boyfriend with a sting of pain, he had so many questions but now wasn’t the time. He gently rubbed at Wei Ying’s back and placed a few soft kisses to his head and ear, whispering soft ‘it’s okay’ to reassure him.

Lan Huan added the numbers to Wei Ying’s phone for him and once everyone was done he’d looked at the time. “It’s late, we should head home. I’m sure all of this has been exhausting for Wei Ying.” Lan Zhan nodded and watched the now tuckered out omega clinging to the sleeping toddler.

Everyone moved quietly, Jiang Yanli gave them left overs and Lan Huan left to start the car and warm it up. When they were ready to leave Lan Zhan gently woke his lover. “Wei Ying.. it’s time to go home.”

Wei Ying gave a tired groan and lifted his head trying to remember where he was, Jiang Yanli gently picked Jin Ling up out of his arms and Wei Ying stood. “Oh man.. Dozing off in a chair killed my back..” he gave a weak chuckle and patted his cheeks to further wake himself. Jin Zixuan handed the omega his jacket and he slipped in with ease.

“I’ll contact you later about setting up a day to babysit.” Jin Zixuan looked down at the omega and instinctively tried to fix his messy hair. Wei Ying paid it no mind and watched as Jin Ling started to wake up, clueless to the daggers Lan Zhan was sending the male.

“Weiwei?” The toddler tried to slip away from his mom but the omega held him firmly. “Weiwei is going home, it’s late and he needs to rest.” she replied. Jin Ling struggled more in distress. “Weiwei stay.” The two bickered until Wei Ying waddled over, Jin Ling stopped moving and reached out to the omega.

“Jin Ling behave. I’ll be back, I'm not leaving for forever.” He paused and let the toddler crawl into his arms. “How about, if it’s okay with mom and dad.. Weiwei helps you get ready for bed, and reads you a bedtime story?” He looked to the couple who shared a look before nodding.

“Only if it’s alright with Lan Zhan, Lan Huan’s waiting in the car.” Jiang Yanli replied.

“I’ll let my brother know.” Lan Zhan left to inform his brother and Jin Zixuan led Wei Ying into the child’s bedroom to help him get ready for bed. Fifteen minutes later Wei Ying came out and slowly made his way to the other’s near the front door. “He was not wanting to let go of my hand.. Cute lil brat.” he cooed.

Jiang Yanli giggled and turned to hug the male. “Don’t be a stranger you hear? And thank you for taking care of A-Ling today.” Wei Ying happily returned the hug and giggled. “Any time~” Wei Ying turned to hug the other two much to their embarrassment and Lan Zhan’s irritation, before stepping into his shoes. After saying their goodbyes he followed his boyfriend to the car.

“Can I sit in the back with you? I’m tired, leaning on you is more comfortable.” Wei Ying whined, Lan Zhan nodded and helped the other into the backseat and got comfortable beside him. Not long after leaving the house Lan Huan looked in the mirror back at their sleepy omega. “Did you have fun?”

“Mm, I did..” he tiredly replied. “I feel silly getting all worried for nothing.. They're all wonderful people..” Lan Zhan ran his fingers through the omega’s hair as he spoke, the two sat in silence as the omega drifted off.

“I wonder what that dog thing was about..” Lan Huan finally spoke up, quiet so that the omega wouldn’t wake but loud enough for his brother to hear him.

“And his little melt down after dinner..” Lan Zhan added, he looked at his brother in the mirror. “It was quiet.. But I’m positive I heard him mutter ‘A real family’..”

Lan Huan’s brows furrowed in thought, he hated not knowing more about the omega. So many things kept piling up but the last he wanted to do was make Wei Ying feel like he was being cornered or had to talk. “I’m sure he’ll tell us one day, we’re still learning more about one another.” He glanced back at his brother through the mirror. “There’s stuff he doesn’t know about us as well, we can’t blame him.”

Lan Zhan listened as he watched their sleeping partner, he gave a gentle squeeze to the omega’s side and kissed his head. “No matter what, we’ll be there for him..”

Bonus

Laughter bounced off the walls of the house, Wei Ying brought his attention away from the TV to find a naked Jin Ling running towards him.

"Jin Ling!" Lan Huan whipped around the corner and slid on the hardwood floor before spotting the naked toddler. "Grab him!"

Wei Ying smiled around the spoon in his mouth and took in his boyfriends ragged appearance before waving his hand. "Ah Jin Ling come here." The toddler stopped and ran to the omega before clinging to his leg, the omega giggled and put the spoon in his bowl before setting it aside. "Where's your diaper?"

Jin Ling giggled and scrunched his face up, Lan Huan walked over to the two and scooped the naked toddler up. "I turn my back for one minute and he's bolting off.. he's a fast lil sucker."

"Is that baby powder in your hair?" Lan Zhan asked as he entered the room. "Is changing him that hard?"

Lan Huan grumbled and held the toddler out towards his brother. "Then you change him."

Lan Zhan made a face at the naked toddler before turning away. "No thank you."

Wei Ying broke into laughter as the brothers continued to bicker, he watched as Lan Huan chased his brother around the living room with a giggling, naked child. He shook his head and stood up before waving his boyfriend over. "Hand him over, I'll change him." Lan Huan stopped chasing his brother and handed the toddler over. "Careful."

"Yeah yeah, he's a good boy with me." Jin Ling calmed down the moment he entered the omega's arms causing Lan Huan's brows to furrow in minor irritation.

"Are you upset.. over a toddler, brother?" Lan Zhan teased. Wei Ying swatted at the younger brother with a giggle. "Oh hush, mister doesn't want to change a diaper."

Lan Zhan opened his mouth to retort but simply closed his mouth knowing better.

Chapter Text

With Wei Ying’s arrival date slowly closing in, the Lan brother’s took it upon themselves to sit and converse about something they knew would be a problem, their uncle. The entire pregnancy neither of them had dared to inform their uncle of anything, partly due to the fact that things had been chaotic with figuring out their relationship.

With a stupid level of confidence their uncle wouldn’t die of a heart attack upon the news, they decided to inform Wei Ying of their thoughts. Wei Ying knew very little of their uncle but what he did know was that the man seemed to be such a stick up the butt fuddy duddy man. Wei Ying was confident he would be lovable enough to turn the grouch into putty, after all who could get angry at the idea of future cute pups? But the closer the date approached the more the omega began to panic.

Today was the day Lan Qiren would be arriving under the idea that his nephew’s wanted to introduce him to “someone important”. In hopes of adding to a good impression, Wei Ying had asked the boys what foods their uncle liked.

“So even more boring food then the stuff I make you guys?” Wei Ying stared at the list of potential dinners and rubbed his neck tiredly. “I’m so glad I got you boys introduced to food with flavour..”

Lan Huan gave a chuckle and let his hands fall upon the omega’s stiff shoulders, giving them a few gentle rubs. “I’m sure anything you fix uncle will love.” Lan Zhan shot his brother a questionable glance at his comment. “Okay maybe not love, but he’ll eat it.. He doesn’t like wasting food.”

Wei Ying gave a snort and after several minutes of scribbling he came up with an easy dinner arrangement to easily feed the four. “Can one of you boys see if we have everything, and if not please go pick it up?” Lan Zhan took the list and the brothers looked over it before separating off, the younger brother checked the fridge and made a list for his brother on what to pick up. Lan Huan gave their omega a kiss to the head and left without a fuss.

“Such good boys~” the omega hummed. While one boyfriend was gone, the omega pulled the other boyfriend along to make the house a little more presentable. A little dusting and hiding some of the baby things, couldn’t be too careful after all this was going to be a lot for their uncle to take in.

By five thirty dinner was done and the table was set, all three of them had been a little on edge waiting for the knock. When it came Lan Huan was the calmest of the three to answer it, Wei Ying clung onto Lan Zhan’s arm and hid behind him nervously.

“Uncle, long time no see.” The elder brother smiled and stepped aside allowing the elder male inside.

“Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve heard from you two?” Lan Qiren let his nephew take his coat and gave a quick look around the entryway before stepping further inside. Once inside he spotted his other nephew and a brow raised at the person behind him.

“Uncle.” Lan Zhan bowed his head causing Lan Qiren to snap out of his confusion to return the gesture.

Lan Huan moved to his brother and the “stranger” before taking one of Wei Ying’s hands in his own. “Uncle, this is our boyfriend.” Wei Ying panicked, that was too soon to say!

“He’s pregnant--wait ‘our’?” He scowled and Lan Zhan instinctively moved in front of the omega.

Wei Ying waved his free hand in the air and moved between his boyfriends. “D-dinner should be done..!” He looked between the three and tugged his alpha’s towards the kitchen. “No arguments, not until after dinner at least.. Less we waste food.” he added.

Lan Qiren gave a huff and walked past the three with clear irritation to the kitchen. “Nice going.. You didn’t have to just spit that all out.” Wei Ying whispered.

“I panicked..! Besides, it's better than having him interrogate us.” Lan Huan frowned.

The omega sighed and the three followed the elder beta to the kitchen. Dinner was awkward to say the least, the brothers knew their uncle was upset - the rule of no talking when eating still stood with him. But when they started eating with Wei Ying that rule got thrown out the window, especially now.

When dinner was over it was still quiet from the beta’s end and it was clear by Wei Ying’s scent that the brothers knew he was afraid of what was to follow. “Honey you take it easy, we’ve got it.” Lan Huan kissed the omega’s head and the two took to cleaning the dishes. Wei Ying hummed and glanced at Lan Qiren gesturing for him to follow him, the beta silently followed along and the two sat down in the living room.

Lan Qiren was the first to speak much to the omega’s annoyance. “Are they one of my nephew’s pups? If you were knocked up by some other alpha and are just using my boys I won’t have it. If it’s money you're after then get lost.”

“What? No, I don’t care about money!” Wei Ying stood up and stormed out of the room, this whole meeting was a mistake he knew it. Just hearing about the beta from his boyfriends he knew it wouldn’t be easy even though he tried to lie to himself that it’d be okay. Emotional state of mind or not he didn't want to have this stupid talk.

The sudden commotion caused the two brothers to storm into the living room, catching as the omega ran off. “Uncle!” Lan Zhan ignored the two to follow the emotional omega that stormed off. The elder brother rubbed his face with exhaustion before turning to the beta. “What did you say to him?!”

Lan Qiren stroked at his beard with disdain at his nephew raising his voice. “I told him if he was knocked up by some other alpha and just using you for money to get lost. I’ve seen it before, taking advantage of other alpha’s just because they couldn’t keep their legs closed.”

The alpha slammed his hand against the wall, he knew his uncle wasn’t big on omega’s but that was too much. “The pups are mine uncle, he’s not taking advantage of anything.. If anything he’s shouldered all the trouble on his own before even telling me about them.” He looked at his uncle and held back a growl. “I’d very much appreciate it if you didn’t talk about my boyfriend in such a way.”

“I can’t believe you, I raised you both better than this.. Not even mated or married and here you are knocking some random omega up. What’s more embarrassing is the fact the two of you are going to share him? Ha, that won’t last long.”

Lan Huan growled softly at his uncle’s cruel words but turned his head at the sound of heavy footsteps. Wei Ying stormed back into the room and threw one of the pillows from the couch at Lan Qiren, startling both the beta and both alpha’s at the action.

“It will last! And even if it doesn’t that’s our problem not yours!” He spat out, the room fell silent and Wei Ying let out a heavy sigh before plopping down on exhaustion on the couch. The boys sat on either side of him with the scent of worry oozing off of them. Lan Qiren watched the three before turning his attention elsewhere.

“Hmph.. if you're all that serious then I can’t talk you out of it. I know how stubborn you boys can get.” He started. “My only demand is that you mate or marry soon to prove it.” Lan Qiren cleared his throat and stood, turning his back to them. “And that you tell me when they’ll be born..”

Well that was disturbingly easy, the omega thought. He shifted himself up to his feet and waddled to the beta before hugging him the best he could. Lan Qiren froze and stuck his hands into the air far away from the omega, the sudden sound of crying caught him off guard. It was Wei Ying, he was crying again. “T-there there..” he mumbled hesitantly patting the omega’s back.

The brothers looked at one another before the elder broke into a soft laugh, he stood and eased his boyfriend away from his uncle letting the omega cry on his shoulder. Lan Qiren dusted himself off and glanced at the time before looking back to the three. “I still have time left.. So I suppose we should talk.”

The four settled down to talk and it became fairly noticeable at how relaxed the beta and omega became. Lan Qiren still wasn’t exactly okay about the whole situation by any means, but those pups were his great nephews or nieces which meant the closest things to expanding the family. And even though Wei Ying was the type of omega he disliked most, he quickly found himself understanding what the boys saw in him.

I'm not dead! I sure felt like I died though.. I've had some real life stuff/drama to deal with and we had a covid issue but I'm recovering! I wanted to write but I was just so out of it and motivation still hasn't really been easy for me.. I'll spare the drama and boring stuffs but I did get to grammar editing chapters 1 through 6! Mind you it's probably still not perfect but I fixed grammar bits that I saw and fixed up paragraph's where too much happened at once. My writing has changed a lot since this series started so all the past stuff bugs me but I don't have the energy to completely re write it all..

I'm really trying hard to get motivated to finish this series but I've had zero support/motivation to continue any of my older works, twitter following died and it's just me retweeting junk. Which is fine but I haven't had anyone to talk to since all this covid stuff started so I've been losing motivation on pretty much all my writings. (I'm also losing my mind because I have no one to talk to.. so I'm actually hardly online anymore.)

I'm gonna try and finish up the grammar edits for the remaining chapters, I do apologize in advance if the next chapter is written "weirdly". As I said my writing has changed and I'm going to be incredibly rusty getting back into actual ship writing (I was writing reader inserts).
