Chapter Text
“Shizun, where will we be going for our training exercise?”
Shen Qingqiu glanced over to his students from behind his fan. They were all standing in a neat row, all awaiting his instructions and teachings for the day. Ning Yingying had been the one to call out - of course - since no one else in the group would dare try it.
[Furong Town.]
“Furong Town.”
The disciple’s eyes lit up.
“We will be going there to train in the nearby waterfalls, and deal with any local problems they may have.” Shen Qingqiu paused. “Now, I believe you all have some daily studying to do.” He snapped his fan closed. “Off with you.” And turned away.
When he was - what they assumed - out of earshot, all of the disciples let their excitement go and began to bounce around and shake each other. Any other day, perhaps Shen Qingqiu would’ve been found smirking behind that fan of his, but on this occasion he couldn’t help but scowl.
Furong Town. A beautiful ancient town. It was by a large river, and was known for the waterfalls that flowed through town. In one word, it was picturesque. There were many stories about young women and men who confessed and fell in love and lived happily ever after. There were just as many fantastical stories that took place in the town in the literature in this world. It was like visiting the different shooting locations for your favourite movie and putting up pictures and comparing them.
But for this shitty novel, Furong Town was the location of another one of Airplane Shooting Towards The Sky’s shitty papapa settings.
And the System was enforcing it.
Really, the town was beautiful, and Shen Qingqiu was looking forward to seeing the beauty in person, but it was completely ruined. The story started off fine. They would all go to the town, and have a mini training arc. Unlike all the other sub-plots in the novel, this one focused on growing Luo Binghe’s relationship with the sisters he had already gathered.
It was actually quite popular!
But of course halfway through people started to complain about the training arc. “It was taking too long” and “it’s been 3 chapters without papapa!” were the common complaints.
God could they not live for three whole days without some poorly written papapa! Read some fanfic!
But they complained and complained and the author ended up rushing the training arc, and then as per usual Luo Binghe papapa’d the problems away!
Shen Qingqiu squeezed his fan hard. Just remembering the comment section made him seethe. If he ever met those people he would knock them just as hard as he planned to do to Airplane Shooting Towards The Sky for writing this shitty novel in the first place.
“Shizun?”
Shen Qingqiu blinked. He hadn’t realized he had returned to his abode and was now sitting at a table. “Oh, um, yes Binghe?” He quickly pulled his fan out and covered his face.
He quickly did a half-bow, “This disciple did not realize Shizun was deep in thought and sincerely apologizes!”
Shen Qingqiu sighed. “It is fine. Speak.”
“Um,” Luo Binghe straightened up, looking at the ground, “This disciple was wondering if Shizun was also excited to go to Furong Town.”
Shen Qingqiu stared at him from behind his fan. “From those words, is Binghe excited to travel there?”
“M-Many of the disciples were quite excited. For various reasons.” Luo Binghe’s gaze slowly drifted up from the ground to Shen Qingqiu’s face. “T-This disciple is… looking forward to it…”
“Yes, this master is looking forward to the trip. It is a beautiful town. What part is Binghe looking forward to?”
It took about 3 seconds for Binghe’s face to go red.
“Training.” He announced.
“Training?” He questioned.
“This disciple will go train now.” And with a bow, he ran off.
Ah- What a white sheep.
Shen Qingqiu couldn’t help but smirk behind his fan.
