Work Text:
Toshinori got out of the shower drying off. He looked around the bathroom, their bathroom. The bathroom of his and Inko's first place together. He saw a mixture of his and her stuff freshly put away.
He was a little shocked when the small woman suggested they move in together. More so when she suggested they find their own place that would fit them both properly, along with an extra room for Izuku of course. He understood the reasoning behind it of course as they were practically living together already. His own home only having one room meant for a bachelor along with far too tall cabinets and other home items for her to work comfortably and hers being a little short for a large man like himself, they would have to find something to accommodate them both.
His eyes centered on the pair of tooth brushes sitting in the cup on the sink, hers smaller with a soft shade of pink handle and his much larger with a dark blue handle. His heart warmed seeing the pair together. It was strange how a simple thing as seeing a pair of tooth brushes could make him so happy. It wasn’t like it was the first time he had seen the pair together as he had spent many a night at her old home, as she had done his. But something about this time was different about it.
Lost in happy thoughts of the beautiful woman in the other room along with the possibilities of their future together he nearly missed the beautiful melody coming from the room.
“Wise men say, only fools rush in. But I can't help falling in love with you.”
As he finished dressing his body was pulled, along with his attention, towards the soft tune. Cracking the door of the bathroom he peeked finding the source of the song. Inko sat on the bed sorting through a box of belonging, singing sweetly, not noticing him eyes gazing lovingly at her.
“Shall I stay? Would it be a sin,” she continued to sing.
Toshinori couldn’t help but join the song as he walked into the bedroom he harmonized with her,” If I can’t help falling in love with you.”
Inko not expecting the impromptu harmony she blushed stopping her tune.
He moved to sit beside her on the bed, kissing her cheek, “well you’re certainly full of surprises,” he chuckled, “please don’t stop on my account.”
Inko covered her face blushing giving a slight peek at him, “I’m awful, its embarrassing.”
“I think you sing beautifully,” he said moving her hand away from her face, replacing his own on her cheek gently.
She smiled sweetly and spoke softly, “thank you Toshi.”
“How about I sing it with you? Would that help me get to hear your beautiful voice a bit more,” he asked wrapping his arm around her.
Resting her head back on his chest she thought for a moment, before giving a theatrical sigh, smiling. “I suppose, but you’ll have to start.”
Toshinori chuckled,” of course.” He cleared his throat before continuing the tune, “Like a river flows, surely to the sea. Darling, so it goes, some things are meant to be.”
Inko smiled joining in. “Take my hand, take my whole life, too. For I can't help falling in love with you,” they sang together, as he took her hand holding it.
Toshinori bent to kiss her softly, “thank you for blessing me with your beautiful music.”
Inko laughed softly, “oh hush, you,” she smiled teasing him. She looked at the clock as she yawned, “now we need to get some rest. We have a lot more unpacking to do tomorrow.”
Toshinori smiled nodding, “yes dear.” He reached turning the lamp off before laying down. Together they got under the covers, snuggling up to one another.
As Inko began to close her eyes ready to drift off to sleep she was interrupted by Toshinori giving her a light squeeze as he sang softly ,”For I can’t help, falling in love, with you.”
She giggled giving him a soft push wary of his scar, “Toshi, go to sleep.”
He smiled chuckling softly, “yes dear.”
She snuggled up to him, her nose touching his, “I love you.”
He gave her a gentle kiss, “I love you too,” he said closing his eyes.
