My Hero Romance: The Young Age

Summary:

“That is not a guy you call a mere boyfriend,” Your friend shouted, beside you. “That is a man you call daddy.”

And who is this Todoroki guy who has been invading your personal space? Is this a love triangle? Or was it parallel lines all along?

(The fluffy long-form story you never asked for but are getting anyhow.)

Chapter Text

This is the Second Part of a series. It holds spoilers from part one. If this doesn't bother you, you can read it, as it is a story within itself.

----

Your relationship with Toshinori Yagi is a long-spanning, convoluted mess.

His master was your sister-in-law, Nana Shimura. He had taken her time, attention, and everything you wanted when you were a child, and also had the gall to want to be your friend. You hated him, and he never wavered from being kind and thoughtful.

You hated him until you were kidnapped, and he found you. Then your hatred turned into begrudging respect. He didn’t stop saving the day there. He remained himself, even as he gained phenomenal, mysterious power.

However, his new power came at a price. When Nana Shimura is killed by a villain, you are sent to a private boarding school, and Toshinori goes to America. Despite parting on bad terms, and knowing that the hero known as All Might may despise you, you can’t help but still hold on to your tender feelings for him.

But when the Twenty-Three-year-old Hero returns from America, things are going to get very heroic.

Chapter One: Debut

You cursed, knowing that you were late.

Today had not been your day, despite being your seventeenth birthday.

Waking up late was unusual in any case, but you knew you had set your alarm, wanting that extra time to get ready. Now delayed, you struggled to find a clean pair of joggers, not finding the pair you laid out.

Man, what was wrong with you today?

Maybe you should sleep in?

You sneered at yourself.

No no NO!

There was no way that you were going to just end your three-year streak of morning jogging.

But things were looking grim.

While pulling on your tight spandex armband you realized you had forgotten your headphones and had to double back to grab them. Once those were on, you tried to make up a bit of time by dashing down the stairs, but that only ends up with you nearly hitting your face on the bottom step.

Most of the other girls in the dorm were still sleeping. Those few doomed to wake with the sunrise were mostly in the common room, under blankets with the tv quietly displaying the news. Yuri, a cheeky girl who was ever trying to befriend you, was brewing the contraband coffee she smuggled at the start of term. If the weak smell was any indication, the beans were getting scarce. She offered you a cup, but you shake your head. Quick stimulation this early only made you feel tired mid-run.

You flipped your phone to airplane mode, knowing if the day was going the same way you might as well take an early break from any of those nasty outside influences.

That's what the therapists had said.

You stepped into the sunlight and stretched, feeling the wind through the thin spandex. It was excellent weather.

Finally, you breathed happily, something hadn't turned to crap.

You tightened the ponytail at the top of your head and turned towards the lawn that bordered the sides of the Private Academy you were in. Besides the somewhat funny stories concerning a Host Club it dissolved a long time ago, it was a prodigious institution with an excellent business college.

And after years of hard work, you could answer a question posed by your old teacher, Nagisa.

"What do you want?"

To be ridiculously rich, of course. You thought, perhaps, your parents would be smiling down on you if heaven existed (Or up from hell, if appropriate, as you didn't like to assume).

And cats. Lots of cats.

You laugh at your own joke. Several freshmen watch you warily from a distance.

You finally smiled and starting at a fast pace. It was a shame you’d have to cut your jog by a few miles to get back in time for class, but you let it go.

You hit the first mile with little trouble, passing a few other joggers who were inspired by your unwavering routine. But the longer you were out the fewer people who came outside. This was not usual, and you checked the time on your phone, as most people came out after you.

But you were still on time.

You hit the last turn and slowed down, feeling sorry that it had to end so early.

You finished the run with a final stretch and cooled off before walking back inside your dorm common room. You excepted to see your fellow female students mostly dressed and getting their last bits of homework finished. But instead, you saw that they had all congregated to the large TV, the volume being turned up as you came in.

You heard laughing from the tv. Corny laughing.

Were they watching another comedy special this early?

You shook your head and made to head upstairs. You threw your phone on the bed and stripped, getting into the shower. You stayed in as long as you dared, and when you got out, let your hair loose, and pulled on your uniform, ready to go.

You grab your bag and phone, you turned off airplane mode, and step out the door.

You nearly dropped your phone as notifications started coming in. Five, ten, twenty, finally settling on thirty-two, the most recent from your old classmate Tsuna Sagwa. You had become close friends but didn’t get to go to the same high school keeping in touch regardless.

You saw the normal ‘happy birthday’ you expected, but under there were at least five more messages.

-Have you seen the news?!?!?!

-This is my gift! I call it!

-JK, I didn’t have anything to do with it, but I claim it!

-THE BEST GIFT EVER!

-Dude, stop running, go to a TV! Your man is on!

-STOP RUNNING AND REPLY!!!!

-NARIIIIIII!!!!!!!!

Uh, what the heck?

You went down the stairs, unwilling to use the precious data you hoarded. Some classmates were still there, even some who should have been at early morning classes, blocking off the TV from view. And there is still that annoying laughter, playing it over and over again.

You scrunch your nose.

"Aren't you guys annoyed?" You say.

“They’re replaying it!”

“Move! I want to see it!”

And, you are ignored.

Ah well.

You turned to Masae Fuji, who was in your advanced English class.

“What’s going on?” You question, half not wanting to know. She gazes at you, half-asleep.

“Some new hot-shot hero just debuted."

Ah, that explained a lot. Nothing like a popular new hero to fawn over. She smiles at your sleepy expression.

"Apparently he debuted saving people from a wrecked building and just kept going until he hit a hundred or so. So he's like a monster at the job-" You raise a brow, and she coughs. "-and he’s pretty young, super hot, and totally cute. I mean, he keeps smiling like it’s nothing.”

“Nice.” You said flatly, rolling your eyes. Every week some new hero was trying to show off and gain in the rankings.

Masae turned, calling to Yuri.

“What’s his name again?”

You don't care.

You turned to leave, not willing to be late over some dumb hero. You had a reputation to maintain.

All Might!” Yuri said, clapping her hands together. "I think."

Your phone dropped from your hands, the glass shattering. Yuri didn’t turn, not seeing you scramble on the ground, phone decimated.

“Oh, and happy birthday Nari!” Most of the other girls gave a half-hearted cheer, turning back to watch All Might's big debut.

Oh yes, happy freaking birthday to you.

Notes:

Dear Nari, what to say to you?
