Work Text:
It started as it always does for Jin.
At first, it was merely a random song on the radio, nothing more than just a tune playing in the backdrop that added a sonorous effect to the tediousness that driving through Seoul traffic brought along.
After a few days of listening to it (by accident), again and again, he finally learned the song title to be, according to the radio host, “Señorita”, performed by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.
Two more days passed and, as if on cue, the song came on every time Jin found himself in the backseat of the company car on his way to one of their many scheduled appointments. Even though he only knew some of the words, he couldn’t help but sing along cheerfully, making the corners of his driver's mouth twitch in favourable amusement.
And before Jin knew it - he was hooked. He couldn’t quite put his finger on why he liked that song so much but… it was easy to listen to and had a catchy beat, so there.
Even while giving interviews he had that tune stuck in his head which unfortunately distracted him more than it should. Taehyung noticed, of course, and shot him questioning glances throughout but knew better than to comment on it.
It was on a Wednesday, one of their rare afternoons off, when Jin finally found the time and ease to settle down on their couch in the living room. He drew up his mobile and opened the Youtube app. His driver had mentioned that there was also a music video available. Señorita , he remembered and entered the title into the search bar. He was surprised to find that the video had done incredibly well so far.
"What are you doing, Hyung?"
With a heartfelt yawn, Taehyung padded into the living room, his blonde hair sticking up in all angles. "Had a good nap, Taehyung-ie?", Jin asked as a smile crept onto his lips upon seeing his boyfriend in that still-sleepy state of his. "Yes," he croaked, followed by another yawn. "And don't change the subject." Taehyung flopped down on the couch next to him and curled into Jin's side, planting his head on his Hyungs broad shoulder. "So, what are you doing?"
He glanced down on Jin's phone and traced the title lighting up the screen with his eyes. "I was actually about to watch something." - "Shawn Mendes?", Taehyung questioned. Jin nodded his head. "We can watch it together if you want." The lack of an answer was, funnily enough, answer enough so Jin turned the mobile screen and started the video. They sat in silence as the video unfolded in front of their eyes. Jin tried not to mouth the few lyrics he did know but (most probably) failed miserably. And his ever-so-observant boyfriend noticed as well.
“That was… interesting," Taehyung commented as the video came to an end, finally, but he did not sound too convincing. "Is that what had you so distracted the whole time? That song?" Jin shrugged his shoulders. "It's catchy.", and Taehyung grinned. "If you think so then it is.", and poked the elder's cheek lovingly.
Jin chased his finger and bit down on it lightly which made Taehyung grin even wider - if possible.
For the next ten minutes, Seokjin scrolled through the comment section, while Taehyung's head still rested on his shoulder. A vast amount of the comments claimed how much the loving and romantic relationship between the two musicians was reflected in the intimate performance and Jin could feel how Taehyung's mood fell steadily the more he read through the comments - he didn't even need to see his face to know. The fact that they were and would probably always be unable to live their relationship the way they wanted to because of… obvious or for them, personally, not so obvious reasons was still a sensitive topic for them both - but Taehyung suffered especially.
Before the mood could drop any lower, however, Jin sat up abruptly, which startled his boyfriend. He restarted the song and stood up, extending his hand towards Taehyung who looked at him with wide eyes.
"May I have the pleasure of this dance?", he leered and Taehyung's face, thankfully, lit up in joy. "Now?", he asked coyly when, in reality, he could never deny his Hyung - especially, if dancing was involved in any shape or form.
The way they danced was nowhere close to how the two musicians did it in the music video but, frankly, it didn't matter to any of them. After only a few minutes, the sleep and hurt were completely erased from Taehyung's eyes again and Seokjin couldn't ask for more.
"You are the Camilla to my Shawn," Jin laughed jokingly as he twirled the other around once more once. Taehyung groaned. "If you call me that one more time, Hyung, I'm gonna break up with you." His words held no heat whatsoever so Jin just leaned down and pecked his boyfriend on the lips. “Now, we don’t want that, so I better stop, right?”
Taehyung only hummed in agreement before adding: ”Plus, you can not compare their…", he paused, "whatever they have to what we have."
"If their chemistry is here," he made a measuring hand movement, "ours is up here." Taehyung raised his arm in a sweeping motion above his head. "And the whole world knows." He paused. "I mean, when it comes to the performances we do for our parts? Together? No one does it better than us." - "You mean like the one for Pied Piper?"
Taehyung smiled, a devilish quality to it.
"Especially Piep Piper."
He grabbed Jin's phone and restarted Senorita for what had to be the 100th time, turning towards his Hyung when the first few tunes rang out. Taehyung walked towards him, swaying his hips. It looked rather hilarious, Jin thought, the way the other tried to be seductive in his worn-out sleeping shirt and old joggers - and yet he couldn't find it in him to care.
"Now,", Taehyung started, his voice low, "we're gonna show them what real chemistry is."

“Why are Jin Hyung and Taehyung-ah doing their Pied Piper mating dance in our living room again", Jungkook asked as he, later, entered the kitchen where Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok had gathered around the kitchen isle, his face weighed down by confusion, "but to Senorita by Shawn Mendes?"
The four others simply groaned in chorus.
