Work Text:
There’re only two things in the world that Yoongi hates and that’s staying up past midnight and clubs.
Now listen, he’ll stay up voluntarily when Jimin wants to binge watch movies or a tv show, when Jimin gets sick, or when he has a lot of work to catch up on for being a lazy fuck and letting it all pile up at the end of the week. Clubs is a solid no, however. Too loud, too many people, too stinky.
Yoongi absolutely refuses to do both voluntarily for his own stupid anniversary party. He loves Jimin, he does, but he’d rather exercise.
You can trust Yoongi’s word when he says he fought against his friends on going out up to the point where it got really physical. They all carried him into a taxi and dragged him inside the club, easily dismissing his hissing to the security as “nothing like college!”. Yoongi hasn’t been on a college campus in years. Jimin was a front row seat witness, giggling the entire time, possibly even recording some of it. Yoongi’s bad mood lifted seeing Jimin smile so big, but still. This is all against his will.
When Yoongi had accepted his fate, finally deciding to stop sulking in the far corner of their booth, he takes advantage of his older brother holding the tab and drinks until he couldn’t remember what his children’s names are. (“yoon, babe, we don’t have children” “exactly” “oh god”)
He watches his friends act like absolute buffoons, scores a nice make out session with his boyfriend in the middle of the dance floor, and eats so many fries that he feels like he’s a fry. Don’t ask, Yoongi’s too far gone to even think of a coherent explanation.
Ok, so Yoongi hates staying up late and going to clubs, but it both happens in one night and he had fun. Only because Jimin looked like he was having an amazing time and he got to dance with him for most of it.
“What’s with that stupid smile?” Jimin squishes his cheeks with his hand as they walk back to their shared apartment. “Min Yoongi? Smiling?”
Yoongi attempts to slap his hand away, instead slapping his own face. “Shuddub”
Jimin smiles knowingly, reaching for his hand and intertwining their fingers. “I know it’s not our anniversary day anymore, technically, but happy anniversary baby”
Yoongi laughs under his breath. “I’m baby”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this drunk. I’m surprised you can walk by yourself.”
“Minie, Minie, Minie,” Yoongi drones on, “I love you, Minie”
“Love you too, Yoon” Jimin squeezes his hand once. Yoongi grunts.
“I think I’m drunk” Jimin laughs.
“You think?”
Yoongi pouts, “Stop laughing at me. I’m fragile. I’m baby damnit”
“Damnit” Jimin wheezes, full on cackling in the middle of the alleyway. Yoongi whines some more. “You said damnit”
“You’re bullying meee” Yoongi’s pout deepens. Jimin only laughs harder, ultimately tripping over his own feet and falling to the ground. Yoongi bursts out into his own laughter.
Both men were so lost in their own world that they fail to notice the figure approach them in quick speeds. Within a second Yoongi is thrown down to the floor on his back.
“Whaa” Yoongi groans, drunken vision going in circles, nausea stirring in his gut. Jimin gasps beside him. There’s a heavy cold weight on Yoongi’s lap, one icy hand on his shoulder and another holding his head to a side.
“Don’t hurt him!” Jimin pleads. There’s shaky breathes hitting Yoongi’s exposed neck. Yoongi grunts, squirming around. “Please!”
It takes a while for Yoongi to figure out that the weight on him was a man. A man holding him down in a tight grip. Yoongi wanted to throw up. The man’s grip loosens. A strangled noise comes out of the stranger before he shoots off Yoongi, curling himself into a ball next to him.
Jimin crawls his way to Yoongi, patting down his body. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
“’m okay” Yoongi places his hands over Jimin’s. “Wanna go home”
“Yeah” jimin shakily agrees, “Yeah let’s go home.”
“Please.” A small voice warns them. It’s the guy. “Puh-please go. I don’t want to hurt you.”
Yoongi watches Jimin hesitate, glancing up at the man. Yoongi tilts his head. The guy was trembling in his curled-up position. Jimin slowly towards him, stopping halfway.
“Are you okay?” he asks softly. The man lifts his head. The man isn’t a man. It’s a kid. a very pale kid with red irises. Big teary eyes with red irises. “Oh” Jimin seems to sink that new fact in. The kid winces and curls himself further into his ball.
“Please” he says again.
“You’re a vampire” Jimin states. “What’s your name?”
The kid looks confused at that. “Juh-Jeongguk?”
“Jeongguk” Jimin repeats. “When’s the last time you fed?”
Yoongi may be drunk out of his mind, but know where this was going. Jimin was always to nice.
Jeongguk closes his eyes and croaks out almost painfully, “Three months.”
Jimin offers out his wrist, “Here.”
“Jimin” Yoongi hisses, struggling to sit up. Jeongguk opens his eyes, eyes widening, and scoots back just a fraction.
“It’s ok” Jimin ignores his boyfriend. “I know you don’t want to hurt me. Take a drink.”
Jeongguk’s bottom lip wobbles. “I can’t control myself.”
“Jimin” Yoongi tries again. Jimin scoots forward a little bit.
“I know you can. It’s ok”
Jeongguk wipes his eyes and steps forward, reaching out for his wrist. His breath stutters as he brings the wrist close to his face, mouth instantly watering. Jimin watches him with a calm and patient gaze.
Jeongguk brings out his fangs, pricking the skin carefully, looking up at Jimin though his lashes for any signs of pain. When Jimin does nothing he looks back down and moans softly at the sight of blood. He licks the first droplets, then attaches his mouth and sucks.
Jimin sucks in a breath, the sensation unfamiliar to him. It’s a warm rush flowing through his body. He’s thrown into a foggy haze, like a nice warm blanket wrapping around him. It feels good.
“Jimin!”
Jimin doesn’t know he’s falling to his knees, black spots starting to dot his vision, until Yoongi catches him, falling with him to the floor. Jeongguk snaps out of his haze, too, chucking Jimin’s wrist away.
“Oh, fuck.” Jimin brings a hand to his forehead. Jeongguk curls back to his ball, sobbing into his hands.
“I’m so sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” he cries.
“Minie, shit, babe, you’re pale.” Jimin waves his hand.
“I’m fine. Just a little dizzy.” Jimin blinks up at Jeongguk and frowns. “Jeongguk, why are you crying?”
“I huh-hurt you.” he sobs. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m okay. You didn’t hurt me. It’s just a little blood.” Jimin hugs his bleeding wrist to his chest. Jeongguk pauses, eyes flickering between Yoongi and Jimin.
“Can I… can I see it?”
“No” Yoongi hugs Jimin to his chest. Jeongguk shrinks.
“Yoongi, don’t be mean” Jimin scolds, holding out his wrist. Jeongguk tenderly takes it and gives it a few licks. The puncture wounds close shut. Jeongguk licks off the excess blood. Jimin brings it back to his chest.
“Thank you, Jeongguk” Jimin gives him a small smile. Yoongi brings Jimin close. Jimin cranes his neck and gives him a grin. “Yoongi, I’m ok.”
“We need to go home” Yoongi whispers.
“Jeongguk, do you have somewhere to sleep?”
At that point, Yoongi just wants to smack the hell out of his boyfriend. But Jimin will earnestly return it back to him full force.
“I—…” Jeongguk notices Yoongi’s pained look and sniffles. “I do”
“Answer honestly, don’t be afraid of Yoongi.” Jimin pats Yoongi’s arm.
“I do” Jeongguk stutters. “I-I’ll be fine for the night. I, um—uh, thank you. I can help you get home?”
“That would be nice of you, Jeongguk. If you don’t mind.”
“How do we know you’re not just trying to figure out where we live so you can suck us dry later?”
“Yoon, he won’t. Stop worrying, you’re gonna get sober.”
“I understand” Jeongguk waves his hands. “I’ll just…leave.”
Jimin stands on two wobbly feet. “Yoongi, you’re not sober enough to take me home.” Jimin waves Jeongguk over. “Jeongguk, dear, lend me a hand.”
Yoongi sputters. Jeongguk jumps to his feet, catching Jimin before he loses his balance. “He can’t just come to our apartment!”
“Ignore him” Jimin whispers to Jeongguk. “He’s just worried, but I trust you.”
“Oh” Jeongguk finds himself at a loss for words. “Thank you? Oh! Does your friend need help getting up?”
Jeongguk refers to Yoongi falling on his ass every single time he manages to get up one inch off the ground.
“Please, he’s going to break a bone.”
Jeongguk ends up helping the couple walk back to their home. Halfway through the walk Jimin stops by at a twenty-four-hour convenience store for a granola bar and orange juice. He regains some color in his face after a few minutes while Jeongguk carries a now sleeping drunk Min Yoongi.
“Is he asleep?” Jimin rises on his toes to peek at Yoongi’s face. Jeongguk hums.
“His heartbeat has slowed down, yes. How much farther?”
“A couple more blocks. Listen, Jeongguk if you really don’t have a place to stay for the night, you can stay over at our place. Our couch is very comfortable.”
“I don’t want to intrude. I’ve done a lot of damage already.”
Jimin shakes his head, “You haven’t done any damage at all.” He rolls his wrist around. “See? Perfectly fine.”
“Why are you so nice to me?” Jeongguk huffs. “Everybody screams and runs the other direction when they figure out what I am. How come you haven’t?”
“I dunno” Jimin lets the question sink in for a moment. “I don’t know. I just had this feeling inside when we made eye contact for the first time.” Jimin laughs with a look of disbelief. “Believe it or not, it was the same feeling I had when I first met Yoongi years ago. Because of that I knew I could trust you.”
“That’s…” Jeongguk raises his eyebrows. “That’s a lot to think about.”
“I’m not trying to put any kind of pressure on you. It’s just an honest response.” Jimin leads them down to the entrance of the apartment block. “Our stop is here. Are you sure you don’t want to spend the night?”
“If that’s ok”
“Of course!”
When Yoongi wakes up the first thing that hits him is the throbbing pain behind his eyes. He’s insanely hungover. He never wants to drink again. With a groan he sits up in bed and rubs his eyes. His breath taste like shit. He feels like what he imagines a weenie feels like. Insanely proceed and disgustingly wet with a mixture of liquids.
“How are you feeling?” Yoongi cracks open an eye, spotting Jimin leaning against the doorframe.
“Weenie” is all Yoongi says before closing his eye. There’s a sound of feet shuffling before a hand is rubbing his back.
“Poor baby” Jimin babies him. Yoongi nods.
“Remind me to never agree to go to a club again. I don’t remember anything.” Yoongi massages his temples. Jimin’s hand stops.
“What’s the last thing you remember?”
“Uhh, I was watching you dance while eating fries like a loser back at the booth.”
Jimin giggles. “That was just before you decided to get piss drunk.”
Yoongi groans again. “Never again.”
Jimin goes back to rubbing circles on his back.
“Yoongi” Jimin starts, “A lot happened on our way back home.”
Yoongi cracks his eyes open at that. “What? What happened?”
“Well, we kinda ran into a vampire?”
“What?”
“And I kinda offered for him to drink from me” Yoongi feels his blood run cold. “And he’s kinda asleep on the couch cus I told him to stay over.”
“Jimin what the fuck?” Yoongi is ready to scramble out the sheets, but Jimin pushes him back down. “Jimin what the fuck?”
“I know it all sounds crazy but hear me out, ok? Ok. I felt the spark with him. I felt the spark with him, Yoongi. I don’t understand either, but I felt the spark.”
When their relationship had started growing serious Jimin had decided to tell Yoongi about a peculiar thing he experienced. You see, whenever Jimin feels his life go the right direction, he’ll have this feeling explode in his chest. It doesn’t happen often, Jimin thinks it’s because it only happens with big major events, and the last time it happened was with Yoongi.
Jimin’s had it when he applied and got accepted to prestigious dancing schools, when he first moved out of his old abusive home, when he applied and got accepted into college, and when he met Yoongi.
Jimin having it again means this was serious.
“You look like you’re panicking. Why are you panicking?”
“The spark means that this means something.” Yoongi looks at Jimin seriously. “And you had it with a random vampire we bumped into last night?”
Jimin bites his lip. “Yeah. You know I don’t drink so I wasn’t imaging it. It happened.”
“I believe you, I’m just confused. I mean, isn’t that a little random?”
Jimin sighs and runs a hand through his hair. “It is, I don’t know what to make of it. I just—I think it’s a good idea to keep contact with him.”
“He didn’t hurt you, did he?” Jimin crawls onto Yoongi’s lap and rest his head on his chest. Yoongi wraps his arms around him, kissing the top of his head gently. Jimin’s nervous.
“No, I’m just a little overwhelmed thinking of the possibilities this could be.”
“Don’t overthink it, Minie. It’ll all come together on its own you know this. It always does.”
“I know. I think I’m just worried about what you think.”
“I trust you” Yoongi sways them gently. “I love you. I won’t leave you for anything. You’re my ride or die.”
Jimin laughs wetly. “I just brought another man to our apartment and told you that we should keep in contact with him because I felt the same spark I had with you with him. Isn’t that a little uncomfortable to you?”
Yoongi shrugs. “We’ve had this conversation before. You know I don’t mind being open. If it leads to that with him, is he at least cute?”
Jimin sniffles. “Gosh, I love you”
“Answer the question, it’s vital for my gay health.”
Jimin giggles again. “Yeah, he’s cute. Taller than both of us, too.”
“We finally have someone to help us with the top cabinets. How old is he?”
“I don’t know yet. I fell asleep after giving him some blankets for the couch. We can get to know him after he wakes up. Cuddle me until that happens.”
“Always ahead of you.”
Jimin forgot to mention the kid had big eyes.
When Yoongi finally meets Jeongguk sober, a few memories flash through his brain. A weight throwing him to the floor, being dizzy, big red teary eyes, and a lot of anxiety. Of course Yoongi doesn’t understand any of that out of context so he throws it to the back of his mind and takes his hand out.
“Hello, it’s nice to properly meet you. I’m Yoongi”
Jeongguk is very shy. He’s insanely tall but hold himself small. He takes Yoongi’s hand and shakes it.
“Hello, I’m Jeongguk.”
“How old are you, Jeongguk?”
“Umm” Jeongguk looks up at the ceiling, face contorted in a way that makes Yoongi assume he’s genuinely trying to do the math. He looks really cute. “twenty-four?”
“Why is that a question?” Jimin teases when he comes back with cookies. Jeongguk tugs on his earlobe.
“Kinda lost count after I got bit. But that should be a good estimate.”
“Wait, you’re twenty-four? Like, just twenty-four?” Yoongi gapes. Jimin seems to be shocked at that, too. Jeongguk bites his lip and nods.
“I’m not, like, an insanely ancient vampire. I’m relatively new, so.”
“Oh, wow. Sorry, we just kinda assumed.” Jimin sits down on the couch, Yoongi automatically curling up next to him. “Come, let’s watch a movie together.”
The way Jeongguk’s eyes widen has Yoongi feeling something warm inside his chest.
Jimin pats the empty space next to him. “You can leave if you want to. I won’t hold you against your will.”
“No, I—” Jeongguk responds all too quickly but stops himself and clears his throat, stiffly sitting next to Jimin. “I could watch a movie.”
Jimin smiles. “Perfect.” he hands them the remote. “You pick.”
“Cool” Jeongguk brightens up.
Over the next few months Jimin and Yoongi get to learn a lot about Jeongguk.
He is shy and well spoken, but also very bratty and moody. He loves baths and drawing. His favorite movies are romantic comedies and he refuses to sleep with a pillow.
One thing they’ve noticed that Jeongguk hasn’t admitted to yet is that Jeongguk is afraid of the dark. After the turn off the lights to get ready for bed, he tends to cling to one of them and never leaves their side. Or when the walk home late after going out for dinner, he tends to startle easy, eyes shooting around looking for anything scary.
Now, after a few weeks they begin to notice how drained Jeongguk seemed to be. He needed to feed. So, they set up a system. Once every two weeks he feeds off from Jimin or Yoongi depending on who’s turn is it. Jeongguk was hesitant about it at first, crying about how he didn’t want to hurt them. They assured him he wouldn’t and he hasn’t to this day.
They know Jeongguk is hard on himself about his control because yes, he does tend to get too lost in the hunger haze, but he’s never violent or brutal with them, never leave a mark or bruise. Jeongguk has explained to them that he’s never trained himself because all he’s ever drank was animal’s blood, it didn’t matter with the animals but it matters with them.
Jeongguk’s gotten better at it so far.
Thinking back over all the progress they’ve all made, Jimin can say the spark was definitely telling him that Jeongguk is someone special he needs in his life. He’s growing feelings for the boy as well as is Yoongi. He thinks he should ask him out. Yoongi snorts at that.
“We’ve already been on so many unofficial dates, I don’t even think asking him out should be the question.”
“Are you proposing we ask him to be out boyfriend?”
“That’s a better idea”
So, they do and Jeongguk is surprisingly shocked.
“Dude, seriously?” Jimin smacks Yoongi’s arm. “What?”
“Be nice.”
“You guys are asking me to be your boyfriend?” Jeongguk recites.
“You can say no” Jimin gives a small smile. Jeongguk shakes his head.
“No, I want to.” Jeongguk smiles shyly. “I’d love to be your boyfriend.”
Jimin gasps. “Really? Oh, come here you!”
“Woah!” Jeongguk giggles as Jimin pulls him in for a heated kiss.
“Hey, save some for me” Yoongi whines. Jeongguk pulls back and Yoongi happily crams himself in his arms. “Come here handsome” Yoongi kisses him more gently, kissing his cheek when he’s done.
“My boys” Jimin pulls them in for a hug. “Wouldn’t change this for anything else.”
“Thank you” Jeongguk tears up, “Thank you for trusting me”
“Of course”
